I love Entourage! Jeremy Piven is one of the funniest men alive, the scene in the psychiatrists office was amazing. Plus this season is great for comic fans, a James Camerson directed Aquaman? Hell Yeah!

That scene was great, I also liked the scene where he fired the mail guy thinking he was the other guy. Great stuff! :)
I also liked when Lloyd (ari's assistant) came in all dressed up, and Ari's like:
Ari:"what the hell is that?"
Lloyd:"You like, it's my Andre Benjamin look?"
Ari: "You look like Michele Qwan in drag!"

Yeah, firing the mail guy was unbelievably great. All Ari's exchanges with Lloyd are great too. Plus the show has the undoubtably the most amount of hot chicks I've ever seen in a program every week.

My favorite little bit is after Ari got off the phone with that WB exec., she said that they will take care of Vince for Aquaman. Overjoyed, Ari hangs up and buzzes Lloyd, (Paraphrased):
"Lloyd, get in here, I want to make out with you."
:D
Now if I was Vince . . . I don't know if I'd want to be in a James Cameron Aquaman movie, especially after watching the documentary for Abyss.
Eric's break-up with his girlfriend (Monica Keene?) was the best break-up in the history of cable television :) .

The make out thing with Lloyd was funny, Lloyd's like "Coming!"
Thus far I think my favorite episode was the Playboy mansion episode with Ralph Machio! Drama giving his explanation on what happen with the monkey's was great! "Were doing shots of Cuervo, next thing you know Ralph's doing the Miyagi pose and kicks open the cage!" Great stuff!

Well tonight's episode was fantastic. Man, I don't think I've ever found Bai Ling so hot *drool*. And man, Vincent gets a new piece of ass every episode, the dude is a freaking **** :) .
I hope Eric hooks up with Emily, she seems like a nice girl unlike Eric's ex.

He was rich and successful the first season and it wasn't boring. It'd be great to see the boys dealing with an even bigger celebrity status. Vince getting even more lazy and handing more decisions over to Eric, Eric trying to keep everything in line and getting overwhelmed by the pressure, Johnny getting really jealous with his brother for becoming the star he never was.

I was just thinking... The show is based off of executive producer Mark Wahlberg's early days in Hollywood. I wonder how much they're going to follow it... His movie in season one, Head On, looked pretty similar to "Fear." "Queens Blvd" could be based on Wahlberg's turn in "Boogie Nights." So, in my estimation, Vince's career is definitely going to head in the same direction Wahlberg did following the Anderson flick - UP. That is, unless they begin to deviate from Wahlberg's life.
Come to think of it, does that mean Johnny Drama might be based on Donnie Wahlberg? Just a thought...

alot of people think Drama is based on Donnie. but he says it has nothing to do with family!
I am noticing the parallel, especially with Vince being a more popular actor than Johnny, the same way Mark is more popular than Donnie(rhymes with Johnny?). Although I like them both as actors, I think Donnie's been more adventurous with the roles he's picked. He was totally unrecognizeable in The Sixth Sense, having lost so much weight and just looking completely deranged. For that brief amount of screentime, he gave a very good performance. Same with Dreamcatcher where he has to be a bit infantile but there's still a serious element there. And I really liked him on Boomtown(Dammit NBC!). To think, they could have both ended being the epitome of has-beens.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/darkdonnie/jeremypiven_entourage_240_003.jpg'Entourage' Hangs on for Third Season at HBO
(Saturday, July 16 08:03 AM)
By Rick Porter
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com)
With two fresh Emmy nominations and a buzz level that belies its rather soft ratings, HBO's comedy "Entourage" has earned a third season.
Chris Albrecht, president and CEO of HBO, announced the pickup Friday (July 15) during HBO's session at the TV Critics Association press tour. He says the deal was completed only a day or so before that, so he couldn't offer a lot of details.
He does say, however, that the pay-cable network will aim for "as many episodes as we can get" from the deal, with 13 probably being the minimum. The show is running for 14 episodes this summer, following an eight-episode first season.
"We'll see if [creator] Doug Ellin will hire some more writers," Albrecht says jokingly.
"Entourage" earned two Emmy nominations Thursday -- for Jeremy Piven's performance as shark-like Hollywood agent Ari Gold and for David Frankel's direction of the pilot episode.
The series, which follows a rising movie star (Adrian Grenier) and his group of friends/hangers-on as they navigate the showbiz world, has earned fairly strong critical praise and a devoted following -- albeit not a large one. It's averaging under 2 million viewers per week in its premiere slot this season, although HBO doesn't look just at ratings when deciding which shows to renew

I missed it earlier, but it repeats in half an hour. I also want to say that having a huge obsession w/ Bai Ling, having her do her "scene" on one of my all-time favorite shows may have been the greatest moment in recent television history. That and when Ari threatened to choke Lloyd out with a strap-on.:D

A couple of friends, and a few people on other sites were saying that Billy Walsh is suppose to be PT Anderson! That scene was hilarious in tonight's episode, he shaved his head he was so nervous, and then when Ari comes up to him he says something like "Get the ***** away from me super suit I don't talk to you before a screening of my movie!"

Oh man, the whole thing with Drama and Turtle over crossing swords was hilarious. I saw the threesome coming from a mile away but was still laughing about it when it happened. Dillon is really good at playing a douchebag as Drama. It's really funny watching him make an ass of himself.
And it's awesome that he got Aquaman, can't wait until next week.

I’m a big fan of the show as well. Mainly due in part to Jeremy Pevin. I don’t think I have ever seen him in anything I didn’t like. PCU was a really funny movie that doesn’t get a lot of play. I like his character in Old School.
One of my favorite Pevin performance moments is when he is cast as the TV George on Sienfeld. He also was very funny on Ellen. I’m glad he is getting such a great part on Entourage.
I’m really glad Vince got Aquaman. But seeing previews it looks like a lot more is going to play out before he lands the part. Then as mentioned the whole “how is the movie going to do” issue.

I cant believe James Cameron was on this show. Frankly I'm amazed although I thought the scene were he called up Vince was a bit underacted. I thought they'd be alot more excited that he just got lead role in a guaranteed blockbuster. Gotta say, never figured Drama or Turtle to be the 3some with another dude types. I cant wait to see the episodes involving Aquaman preproduction and what becomes of Drama and the bullfighter!

Man, last nights episode was great. Im definately thinking Walsh is supposed to be Anderson. I mean, Anderson is known to shave his head before he makes a movie (so the head shaving thing could have been part of that). Piven and Dillon are my two favorite parts of the show. That episode where Drama was obsessed with his calves and he got caught staring at that dudes legs almost made me **** myself. I'm really hoping he does the bullfighter movie. Thatd be SO funny to see little clips of.
Anyways, I LOVE the show. Own first season, dedicated to the second. Can't wait to see wha happens with Aquaman.

You got that Boogie Nights / Queens Blvd. vibe too? That indie the new big actor takes that's gonna be a surprise hit. This is more based on Wahlberg than they want us to realize.

The more episodes there are the more it looks like it shadows Wahlberg's life. He probably just says it's not so he doesn't burn any bridges. Next week's episode looks to be good, another guest spot, this time Mandy Moore!
This past episode had one of my favorite Piven lines, something like "Were going to get drunk with Russell Crowe and head butt some goddamn kangaroos!"

Well the previews for next week show them at Comic Con announcing Aquaman, so I think she still might be in. Next week looks great, they go to Comic Con for Aquaman, and it looks like Drama is dressed to introduce something for Viking Quest! Also they go to a U2 concert should be great!
Tonight had some pretty funny lines:
When Ari was told he isn't going to make the 40 under 40 list " Your not going anywhere, were going to take some family photos, you work for me now!"
Or when Drama said he got the audition for a Joe Mantegna movie Turtle says "Joe Montana is acting now?"
It was also great when Drama goes to the audition and it's the same people that he went off on last year (btw, the main casting guy is the shows creator)!

lol, she is like 21 now! I think they just did it to more or less not make Vince look like a creep! He would have been like 22-23 when they made that movie, so it doesn't sound as bad if a 22-23 year old is hitting on a 20 year old as opposed to a 17 year old.

07-27-2005, 02:42 AM
Somehow, I doubt it. We're gonna see the pre-production work, and maybe a bit of the beginning of the shoot. Then, next season, they'll be a finished product, assuming something doesn't cancel production before this season ends of course. It's gonna be a Queens Blvd. approach, I'm guessing.
TheVileOne
07-27-2005, 02:47 AM
Will Aquaman fall apart though or will Vince follow through with it.
The thing Vincent isn't really taking into account, as big as Cameron's movies are, people HATE working with Cameron. Cameron's got a reputation of being an ******* on the set, and you know, its not like Ridley Scott and Spielberg who has a lot of clout because so many people want to work with him right now.
So I just think it would be funny if Vince achieved his dream of working on a Cameron picture and getting really miserable from Cameron's director/actor treatment.

You guys might be right about this movie not getting made with Vince attached. It does seem like something could happen! Wouldn't he still get paid for the first since the contract was signed
More like Mandy wants people to think she's 25. Forever the problem was 30 year olds playing teenagers. Now college-age chicks can't seem to wait until they're old enough to play mid-20's or later roles. IE Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane or Jessica Biel (an actor I like by the way) playing an elite naval pilot in "Stealth".

I JUST DOWNLOADED ALL OF SEASON 1 AND SO FAR WATCHED HALF OF IT... what an AMAZING series!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really would not call it amazing. I don't watch very many tv shows. I often wonder why I watch Entourage other than me paying for HBO and every other show I enjoy from it (Sopranos, Real Time, Ali G) being on long ass hiatus's.
Sometimes the show just seems like a way for the producers to be around as many hot new chicks as possible, with the script being secondary.
I don't really LIKE any of the characters. Drama is the closest to being a worthwhile, great character. Ari was, but that whole thing is sort of getting old. Turtle and Vince are very meh. And maybe since I've heard what an a$$hole Kevin Conolly is in real life combined with his boring performance on the show I dislike him pretty much always.

i thought it was a pretty good epsiode, but vince is kinda pissing me off now. I LOVED Drama in this episode and the whole RJ Spencer thing was hilarious
Yeah, I've noticed they're really developing Drama's character beyond being something of a punchline. He's got more of his own things going for him. I still like Vince, and I think the whole conflict between him and Mandy should be interesting. He's not just brushing things off anymore, he's actually being affected by certain things. Whereas last season he was just completely shallow until like the last two eps, and now they've been developing him a lot more.
Loved the RJ Spencer stuff. Yeah, Ain't It Cool actually commented on this this morning, I don't know if they were just kidding about Harry being pissed about not being asked to play himself, or not, but I think it worked better as a parody, than to actually have him there. The whole RJ character was supposed to be a caricature of Harry, and had Harry played himself, I don't think it would have been as good. And I'd never be able to scrub the mental image that would have been implied when the "P*ssy Patrol" showed up to convince RJ to give Vince a good write-up on his site.

I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t any back lash with the fans and Vince as well. That would have been nice. Great episode though. This show has grown on me this season. Last year it was just a Sunday night option this year I want to see it.
And on a side note the last two episodes of “The Comeback” were a lot better. I keep wanting this show to be good, I really like Lisa Kudrow. But this past Sunday’s episode was an evolutionary moment for the show. I hope they capitalize on it and continue. “Seriously, I swear to god, if you don’t shut-up I will throw you on the side of the road.” –Valerie to the Lincoln Navigator salesman in the car. And her voice mail to the writer was great as well

Okay, can someone tell me how Tony Yayo, unedited mind you, got played at Ari's daughter's Baht Mitzfah? For that matter, why was DJ Quik the DJ?!? I know the show's got a quota for celebrity camoes per episode, but damn!

I was thinking the same thing about Yayo. But then again I went to a barmitzah for a guy I knew in 8th grade and they played alot of uneditted rap. There was only 3 celebrities though. That dude (whose name I cant remember) that was Ari's partner, his wife (the mom from the OC) and DJ Quik.

Jeremy Piven completely kicked this week's episodes ass! One minute speaking like a very proud father and without missing a beat turning back into Ari Gold superagent pimping her out to keep his client. Seeing someone who Ari actually fears was really cool too. Best line though was "Smoke more weed Turtle...no seriously, smoke more weed"

My favorite was the exchange between the two kids.
Drama: "This isn't a lecture. We're giving you a life lesson. Marijuanna is a gateway drug. One minute you're lighting a joint in plain sight of grown ups at a baht mitzvah, next thing you know, you're giving handjobs on santa monica boulevard for a crack rock."

I thought that was a little odd considering how stoned they were getting on the way to the party. Did they not want the kids to end up like them or something?
And seriously, **** Ari for screwing the candle lighting ceremony! You don't leave out the candle lighting ceremony! It was hilarious :) .

Mandy's Theater Agent: "We all know Vince has slept w/ half of the women in Hollywood..."
E: "I'm not gonna let you insult Vince like that!"
Ari: "I thought that was a compliment."

oh god, I hope not! I LOVE this show, and I'll hate to wait more than a year for new episodes! My favorite Ari line tonight was something like:

I also liked:
"I drove to work in an $80000.00 car, and im leaving in a prop car from Fast and the Furious!"

Great episode last night, suprisingly dramatic. Every week it just gets clearer and clearer that if Piven doesn't get the Emmy it'll be a crime. Loved the Entourage take on Jerry Maguire (even you could see it coming since the Bat Mitzvah episode), much more realistic, locked out of his office, phone disconnected, car gone, perfect. I wonder how Drama'll react when he learns his agent is who screwed Ari. Loved the whole "tsetse fly" bit.

I wonder what this is going to do to Aquaman along with the crew's future after the next episode.
I like Eric and Sloane, so I hope that works out. I want to see more of that pairing. They make a really cute couple and Sloane seems pretty tolerant of Eric's job, not throwing a fit when he answered his cell while they were making out.

Anyone else think the Ari's bosses daugther is only dating E so she can convince him to convince Vince to dump Ari and stay with her Dad's agency? From the summary on TIVO, it also seems that E is considering dumping Vince, so Im thinking mabey Vince will just give up and go back to Queens, atleast until next season. Im hoping at the last minute that Vince just asks Camreon to fire Mandy. Either way, this season has been great and I cant wait until Season 3.

Personally I found last weeks episode way better, cause everything literally went to hell. Would have made for a better season finale. That said, this ep kicked ass. Turtle is finally doing something, Eric has other options. Its good to see everyone doesnt have to live off Vince. But the second Vinnie looked at the Titanic poster you could tell that he was gonna stay in. I guessed that Mandy was going to drop out of the film, but they never said she didnt. What I really liked though was how they showed Cameron's excitment, cause in all the other eps, he looked like a total douche. That and showing Eric driving in his Nissan. I wonder what the show would be like if he actually did become an agent for slone. And man, I thought Drama was gonna beat his agent's ass. I'm guessing Ari's gonna be pretty desperate for clients and picks up Drama. Who knows? Maybe Ari can turn him into a star.

Well, Queens Boulevard still has to be released to the public, so the next season's sure to focus on that. Walsh, the director, is such a nutcase, I love him. I'm sure Ari will bounce back, unless Terrence blackballs him, which I wouldn't put past him.

FINALLY! Im in college and missed the last two episodes of the season and so i was avoiding this thread for a while. Tonight I went to a sophomores house of these kids within my mager. Im good friends with two of em. So we watched Oldboy (DAMN GOOD) and then this girl Jenn was talking about writing for HBO as her ultimate goal. I said that I loved Entourage and she said that she had never seen it. Then was like "oh, I might just watch them later. We have that On demand thing" and i ****ing flipped and she let me watch the last three (i rewatched the third to last just to set up and give me a refresher)
DAMN! So good. The last two episodes were amazingly brilliant. They had me on the edge and I LOVED Ari in the final two. Anytime he has ever been a ass, he redeemed himself for. He was so great and I REALLY hope Piven gets his damn Emmy. That part when he picked up his wife and walked her inside I hade a huge grin on my face. Amidst all of the disaster of teh day, with everything wrong, Ari finally becomes a good husband. That was the Ari we've never seen and he was so damn good that it made me love his character. But they say that Piven SHOULD win.
Well, I've got hope for Piven. I honestly cant think of any character on any TV series that has made me ever laugh more and Ari really spread his wings this season and got more screentime and his own subplots and whatnot. We're doing 20 episodes for season three and then going into production on season 4," says creator Doug Ellin. "HBO is like, Do as many as you can do." So, this can-do season: Aquaman gets released, Eric (Kevin Connolly) gets in deeper with Sloan, and Drama (Kevin Dillon) gets . . . a job!

Seriously, 20 eps. That's great. I can deal with a half-hour, I just get ticked when they're like 21 minutes. It's standard 30 minute-episode time, I know, but it still bothers me.

What kind of craziness will Season 3 bring?
I've been watching it on demand. God damn, Drama and fat guy are such slackers. This show is horrible, its about 3 ass holes and their pansy friend living it up because they mooch off the actor ass hole...and yet you just can't quit watching. It really is an addictive show.

Drama is constantly going to acting lessons, traniers, etc. looking for advice and such, and probably does more work on his own than any of them before Eric became the manager.
And Turtle is a manager now for an up and coming rap star. If anything I dont see them as a-holes but as friends who bust each others chops all the time. Thats what my friends do.
I think its funny that the show is not particularly funny, I barely laugh at anyone but Piven. But i still feel like its a funny show. Even though these are rich group of friends, they act just like my friends and I do.

The show is hilarious! Watch season two Matt, Ari (Piven) is great! This show is easily the best show on HBO even better The Sopranos IMO. I think Drama is pretty damn funny on the show and plays his partt extremely well.
Each season is getting better and HBO keeps on ordering more episodes. They went from 8 in season one 16 in season two and theres talk of 20 for season three.

Well, Auquaman is about to premiere, and Ari's pressuring Vince to find a date. Meanwhile, Drama nad Turtle have been giving out passes to the premiere to every hot chick they see, which becomes a problem with they meet two video girls at a radio station where Vince is doing an interview, and don't have anymore tickets, but promise to take them to the premire. Vince basically shouts out his mom(Merceds Rhule) and asks her to the premiere. At first she agrees, but then calls Eric to say she's not coming. For whatever reason, she has issues with travelling, and rants about never having left New York in 30 years!
Ari is still trying to establish his agency, and it's costing more money than he has, as he's had to rely on his wife's trust fund until he gets on his feet.
Drama and Turtle try to weasel two more tickets for the premiere out of Ari, who decides to take two of the tickets reserved for James Woods and give them to Drama and Turtle, assuming he won't need all of them. This leads to a hilarious guest appearance by James Woods (referred to throughout the episode as "Jimmy"), who storms down to Ari's office with some bimbo to get the tickets from Ari. Lloyd calls Drama to get the tickets back, and Drama pretty much motuhs off to Woods, telling Lloyd if he wants the tickets back, he can come get 'em. Which James Woods of course does, even going as far as to threaten to shove Drama's head up Turtle's ass. Drama slips him an envelope that's supposed to have the tickets but it's really empty.
Vince still doesn't have a date, so Eric decides the best way to get Vince's mother to come out is to invite all their mothers from New York, so Vince's mom will be comfortable traveling. As you can imagine, Drama and Turtle had to use the extra tickets for their mother's instead of the video girls.
Overall, a solid 4 out of 5 episode. It'll be fun seeing Ari stress out until the movie opens.

I thought it was a decent episode but not fantastic. James Woods was great in it though. That pretty much somes up my feelings about the show in general: it's funny but not stellar (Curb Your Enthusiasm).
As for Lucky Louie, I thought it had potential. There were some aspects that really worked in there and others that didn't. If HBO sticks with it I think in a season or so this show could be huge.

Who thinks Aquaman opens big, but not big enough. Sort of a MI3 thing, it's supposed to bring in $100 mil (Ari mentions this number in the preview for next week), but "only" brings in $75-80 mil, casting doubt on Vince's star power.

Yeah, but his job as a superagent has kept them pretty well off up until now, his kid is in a $25,000/year grammar school! However, now he needs her to help him out after getting screwed by his former boss, Terrance was trying to steal Vince (and his comission Ari would get) just as Vince was about to hit superstardom. It's an emergency fund, they're in an emergency right now. So it's okay for her to use the money he makes, but it's not cool when he needs to use the money she already has to rebuild his career that will make things comforatble again.

I think it's pretty pathetic and disgusting of Ari to not make any sacrifices and just taking all his wife's money like that.
So while I think Ari is a funny guy, he's a disgusting and pathetic human being.

Did you find it disgusting and pathetic when his wife was using all the money he made? If they were divorced or seperated and he was doing this I would find it different, but they're married and as evidenced by the final lines, happily married. The business Ari is in requires the type of spending he does, you've got to wine and dine your clients, image is everything. Should he have just gone to work at another agency where he'd build stars only to have the owner take them and reap the rewards after the work has been done. Ari's doing what he needs to do to get back on his feet and that requires a lot of start up costs, once everything is set up and his wife doesn't need to touch that fund anymore and just uses the money Ari brings in will you find her disgusting and pathetic?

for aquaman he was in a tux running down a pier. chances are thats all we'll see. entourage is not about the movies made, but the friendship among the various players.

This season is finally starting to pick up for me. The first couple of eps were kinda "meh", but these last two or three have hit the mark. There looks like some serious drama between Vince and WB over the scheduling. Things are looking good for Turtle too. I think that's gonna bring some drama eventually. Good times are head people.
The show isn't that much of a pendulum, you can always count on them to half-ass most of it and rely on easy eye candy ***** but give you just enough to keep coming back since it's only 25 minutes a week.
What I really can't wait for is Artie Lange's upcoming guest spot as Ari's more successful buddy from college. He's filming it at the end of this month so I don't know whether it'll be for this season or the next one.
