based on how old you are, thats you're subconscious perspective. I have the same thing, all of those guys who tried out for Superman dont look as old as Reeve to me, even though their older, because I was 3 when I first saw Reeve on the big screen. Now that I'm actually older than Welling by a year +, and the "other" guy by about 3 years, neither look "manly" enough to me... Welling still looks younger to me, but he's earned my trust with the part over the post 4 years

Yeah, the original pick had reverse light source and shadows. Too much of an amateur to fix it in a rush job. The angle of the face pic was the closest I could find, but other than that, somebody with more experience would definitely need to do it to nail it.

I prefer the more "classic" colors and look to the suit, not to mention Welling's own physique, which is quite different and more personally appealing to me than Routh's.

So for now, in the absence of having any "real" photos of Tom actually IN a Superman suit, and most manips being somebody else's body (usually Reeve's), I'll just fall back on artist's conceptions. ;)

He looks a hell of alot more like what Superman should look like then any actor out now especially "Brandon "The mouth" Routh" who looks like a cheap water down mix of Tom Welling, George Reeves, and with a hint of resemblance to chris in the clark get up.

He has no real identity to bring to the role while Tom Welling looks the part without looking like a Chris Reeve or George Reeves clone.
This is why this movie will fail. It's un original from casting to storyline to everything...

Besides Manips are b.s you cannot ever tell what someone is going to really look like in a manip.
Look at how diffrent Routh looked in the real thing from the manips where he looked like he would be a regular at the blue oyster bar from the police academy movies... lol
Now it just looks like he's EMO... :p

Strictly in the face I don't think George Reeves looks like Superman either. As much as I liked Dean Cain from Lois and Clark, he doesn't have the face of Superman from the comics either. Everyone knows I'm a supporter of him but I'll be the first to admit he doesn't have that comic book resemblance face wise. Tom has a good look for an actor, but just not the right look for an actor to play Superman. His nose is too wide and he doesn't have a strong chin either. That's why Chris worked, he had a more narrow nose, a strong chin, and I think Brandon has those features as well (though I honestly wasn't thinking of him in terms of this discussion).

If you look at all comic book adaptions of Superman/ cartoon (TAS), those are the features in the face we think of when looking at Superman.

Hey Tom is probably better looking than both Chris and Brandon, but that doesn't mean his look works as well for Superman.

No matter what representation these features are that of Superman's face.

Dude do you understand that your making my point for me by showing us pictures of Tom Welling, Brandon Routh, and Chris Reeve?
Tom doesn't look like he's made to be a Reeve Clone so he is allowed to bring his own take on the character, and so far he has won
a lot of fans over because of this.. He is the most popular choice for the role by the majority of the fans..

It is very un-original to take a guy who looks like a water down version of Tom Welling mixed with George Reeves, and make him up to look like
Chris Reeve in the Clark outfit but only from certain angles...
He actually only resembles Reeve in a few photos, and doesn't look anything like him otherwise.
Especially in real life.

Also remember that Reeve was a Julliard trained actor who knew how to act... Brandon Routh is an actor who was FIRED from a soap for bad acting..
MAJOR difference there.
Also I have a major issue with the new Superman coming straight from MTV!
I'm sorry but I have a major problem with casting someone who's 15minutes of fame consist of MTV UNDRESSED & a CHRISTINA GAGuilera video.
Maybe it's just me but I wanted a REAL actor in the role, and not some MTV pretty boy.
The whole cast looks like something out of a bad nightmare!
I mean Kate Bosworth as Lois huh? Has anyone ever seen Blue Crush? Probably the worst movie ever made!! She was in that.. We all can see how bad of an
actress she is in her other roles.
Hamm he's a bad actor.... She's a bad actress... No wonder they had such good chemistry! lol
If you want MTV actors in your Superman movie then you need your head checked...
Brandon & Singer are messing this whole movie up.

It's also unoriginal to go the sequel route, and not re-start this thing from scratch...
With this being a sequel we are tied down by the first two movie's, and what the characters were like then..

Dude do you understand that your making my point for me by showing us pictures of Tom Welling, Brandon Routh, and Chris Reeve?
Tom doesn't look like he's made to be a Reeve Clone so he is allowed to bring his own take on the character, and so far he has won
a lot of fans over because of this.. He is the most popular choice for the role by the majority of the fans..

It is very un-original to take a guy who looks like a water down version of Tom Welling mixed with George Reeves, and make him up to look like
Chris Reeve in the Clark outfit but only from certain angles...
He actually only resembles Reeve in a few photos, and doesn't look anything like him otherwise.
Especially in real life.

Also remember that Reeve was a Julliard trained actor who knew how to act... Brandon Routh is an actor who was FIRED from a soap for bad acting..

Too bad your comments aren't original :p You just reused every comment made by Serene or triplet in the last month :p Other than that, the pics show how Routh and Reeve both have the more narrow nose and strong jaw like that of Superman from the comics. It doesn't make Routh a Reeve clone by looking like the comics, it just means he looks like Superman and Welling doesn't. Which is why ROUTH IS Superman in the new movie and was chosen by Singer over Welling.

Who brought up Routh in this conversation? See, this proves to me that no matter what, no matter how good SR might be, you'll NEVER give the people behind the movie any credit. I just don't like the story of him goign to krypton, i don't feel it si apporiate when a whole new generation of kids have no idea about the true origins of the character. i see no brillanc ein script writing when losi is in a love qudrangle with richard, clark and superman. I don't see the point of an Mtv style suit with a turtle nike ubderamour and plastic \s/ and maroon leather cape, **** doesn't look homemade. also i don't like the idea of superman in the hospital for an extra corny scne with people yell and holding flyers save our superman. singer i though was capbale of better but he isn't showing that at the moment. that already looks 1000x better. Up top we have Superman, down below "the imposter" who ironically is made up to look like Supes but yet has less of a resemblance than just a normal shot of Welling. A glaring example of my argument about their being an "it" component to Superman...

nice, could you use the flying pic from commencment from last eseason. that pic had some muchintensity.
