I read a thread in countingdown.com and someone said Batman Beyond movie slated for 2007/2008 release...
Looks more like rumor to me, but does anybody know that if this is true?
here's the link.

Not true.
A project like that would've attracted a s**t-load of attention already, and we would've gotten an official word from WB by now.

Not to mention there's no mention of it on any of the major movie sites except that one.

There is no way that is true, unless WB wants to ruin Batman...

Also, you can tell its a lie by having Sam Raimis name attached to it...

I do find it odd however, that they're all acting like it's such a sure thing. It's almost like they're rollplaying. :o

It maybe in talks for maybe later. To me they added old and wishful thinking news. Raimi as a director? ( wishful thinking) Now Boaz Yakin was rumored on time when Arnofsky was going to do Batman: Year One.
Eastwood as Bruce looks like dream casting as does Gyllenhaal who was going to replace Maguire in Spider-Man 2 because of Tobey's back injury.
Sounds like they are taking old Spider-Man news and mixing it in with old Batman Beyond news.
As far as I know no plans are being made about Batman Beyond. It has yet to be greenlit by WB.

It was thrown around to be produced for a while, but after Begins started to...begin, they preety much shelved it. Which is unfortunate, I liked Batman Beyond. :( Oh well, at least there's Begins! :D

I actually wouldn't be surprised if a Beyond movie was made in the distant future. After BB's series of movies fizzle out, there'll really be nowhere else to go with Batman.

This rumour is totally false because it doesn't make sense to have two seperate Batman franchises featuring a "present" and "future" Batman released at the same time of each other.
Maybe ten years from now Batman Beyond could become a reality once the new franchise is completed.

The boat for a Batman Beyond movie sailed a LONG time ago.

BATMAN BEYOND died a long time before even YEAR ONE got off the ground, or BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN. It was a concept, nothing more, and never apparently got off the ground at all, even in terms of a decent script.

Why? There was a cartoon. The cartoon was, in it's essence, an extension of another cartoon. The whole point was that it was the future of the cartoon Batman. The cartoon was good, but it also had many, many things that just wouldn't work real well on film. And BATMAN BEGINS has launched Batman into a new franchise. I doubt we'll see anymore BEYOND stuff.

Batman Begins was a gift and a curse to us fans. It allowed us a awesome Batman movie. But at a couple of expenses. (1) we'll never see a young Bruce Wayne on Smallville. (2) We'll never have a Batman Beyond live-action movie. (which sucks)
The Guard

There may well be a YOUNG BRUCE WAYNE TV series someday, though, when SMALLVILLE finishes it's run and depending how MERCY REEF/AQUAMAN does. Why does not having a live-action BATMAN BEYOND movie suck? BATMAN BEYOND was conceived as a continuation of the ANIMATED series to begin with. It belongs in the animated realm, and there was a solid movie to wrap things up there.

At least, they could bring back the animated series with a couple more movies then.

Why? What's left to explore without creating entirely new angles?

Why do answer a question with a question?
Why shouldn't he?
But honestly, Batman Beyond was OFFICIALLY wrapped up in Epilogue from the second to last season of JLU. I mean... he grows up, marries Dana, and becomes a big buff built Batman. What more do you want?
There are a lot of cool ideas for the Batman that can be done. More villains can be brought back. I had the idea of "Robin Beyond" being some cool holographic technology with A.I. that Terry keeps on his belt and throws. It hits the ground. Blip, this hyperintelligent hologram pops up and either starts analyzing stuff, kicking butt, causing a distraction, or providing comic releif.
But as for Terry? All character development complete...

Yep, it was in pre-production but not greenlit for a while. Boaz was going to direct as he was a friend of either Dinni or Timm. They were working on the script. Both Eastwood and Paul Newman were aproached to play the elder Wayne but at the time I heard that they both turned the part down. But I would have loved to see Eastwood as the elder Batman. He was born to play that role. It was shelved during the whole Superman/Batman VS Superman debacle is my understanding

Just wait a few years, and they can do it with an old Michael Keaton, as a closure to the old franchise.

I just hope that IF they do it, they can make it before it's too late for Eastwood. The dude is perfect for the Older Wayne role.

One thing, it would be much much easier and more probable to have an animated film in theaters ala B:MOTP. I like the "Robin Beyond" distraction concept what if they expanded with a Superman Beyond, Kon-El all grown up?

I don't think WB will ever make this movie.
We already have real Batman, we don't need another one.
P.S. It cant also be, because there realese dates.
BB2 - June 2008
SR2 - July 2009
BB3- June 2011
SR3 - July 2012

I really dont think Batman Beyond should get a live-action movie. Batman Beyond was just one of many future tales of Batman (DKR, Year 100, etc) So to take one of these and make it into a film just doens't feel right.

they should make another Batman Beyond animated film, such as BB:ROTJ (The DIRECTOR'S CUT). or I'd love to see Batman: DKR be made into a animated film, or the Knightfall trilogy (that would be awesome if done in the same style as FFVII: ADVENT CHILDREN, which is an awesome movie)

I'm really digging this idea and I hope it happens, but I know it won't. I agree with someone on this thread who said that Batman Begins it's a gift and a curse to the fans.
I knew about the "Bruce Wayne" T.V. show, a suposed Nightwing cartoon, a Superman v.s. Batman movie and even a restart of Batman and Robin with a whole new movie with no origins, just a new movie remplacing the old franchise. I thought some of this ideas were cool iof they actually happen, but the truth is Batman Begins was so badass that killed them.
So fans are happy and got what they wanted with Batman Begins, which i'm not against but yeah it did kill a few cooler proyects.

I think this is a fun little rumor, nothing more.
However, its always fun to dream :)
GL 1 said that Batman Beyond was wrapped up in Epilogue, perfectly I might add, with omgawesome tribute to On Leather Wings at the end. I thought Batman Beyond ended badly, and that was much more fitting.
But, if this was live action, you always have all the material from the show, from the original episodes to RotJ (Which would be an awesome movie). Plus, I would hope that they'd ask Bruce Timm and the gang for some advice AT LEAST. I'm sure they had quite a few more ideas, and even some that would have been too ambitious for a 30 min show. (Altho they did do RotJ)
As for casting, I'd love for it to be Will Friedle, but that's just cause I like his acting, and I doubt he'd get it. And for Older Bruce, if they do Will then you might as well do Kevin Conroy, but Micheal Keaton would be cool.
