I get the ideas from myself Spideywebs. I try to find match-ups with people that are really close in skill/strength/ability and I pit them against eachother. I also try to make match-ups that can lead to some good discussion, and there have been a few that lead to some good conversations. If anyone wants to see a certain battle, just PM me. Do you have any references to these characters, or is this all from memory? I am actually kind of new to the Marvel world (for those who couldn't tell :p ) and some of these guys I never heard of, so I try to look them up. But I think I like this thread because I get to meet new characters that I would probably never hear of otherwise. Good job, my man! :D

I've been collecting marvel cards since I was 10. I have a stack of binders up to my waist full of marvel cards. I learnt everything about the characters by reading a lot of the cards, and thats how I know what match-ups will be close. I'm glad you like the thread Spidey! I like posting the battles alot and i'm glad people have taken a liking to my thread.

Wow, talk about underestimation. Thunderstrike's mace is capable of almost everything Thor's hammer is, so I'd go with Thunderstrike. Energy absorption is bound to screw a guy who shoots energy that looks like fire at people over. Firelord probably doesn't even edge Eric out in fighting, considering Eric's got first-hand training from Thor and Captain America.

I too have to go with Thunderstrike, and just on the last battle Firelord has held his own against Thor so that's why I think he could take the dumbed down version (I know that last part will probaly get some heated feedback)

1. Who cares? Asgardians have absorbed the Power Cosmic as well as anything else.

2. Where did breathing ever come into the equation? Thunderstrike doesn't need to breathe either, though.

3. All right, so the combat advantage is gone and they're about even. I haven't seen Firelord fight very impressively though, since he usually relies almost exclusively on blasting people with fire energy.

Physical attacks are of no consequence to the Masked Marvel, his kinetic field protects him. Unless Kitty has full use of her potential, this battle goes to the bouncing bundle of energy, Speedball.:D

Enchantress. Magic usually grants people mental powers too. Loki certainly has mental powers, and the Enchantress isn't far behind him in Asgardian magic.

While its true that her physical attacks wouldn't do anything you have to remember that when she phases through anything she disrupts the electrical field of that object or person. So, when she phases through speedy she could disrupt his nervous system, or the electrical synapsis in his brain which would render him unconsious...which she has done before ;)



But, on with the next battle.....my vote goes to Enchantress.

Anyway, I vote Quasar. Captain Mar-Vell's nega-bands are shoddy imitations of Quasar's quantum bands that can only manipulate energy, as opposed to the quantum bands themselves, which can form Green Lantern-like constructs as well as manipulate energy in all its forms. Quasar has a major power advantage and his experience is just as good as Mar-Vell's since he came up through an elite military unit (SHIELD) and did probably the best job as Eon's Protector of the Universe ever. Mar-Vell was a great hero, but Quasar's vastly underrated.

I'm not a fan of the new school take on the marvel characters. In all my match-ups the characters have their regular abilities, marvel era (beginning - 1998ish) so whenever you see a match-up think of the characters in that time frame because they don't have their "ultimate" powers or whatever the hell all that new spangled stuff is.

Here are Drax's powers without his power gem:


Powers: Drax possessed a variety of superhuman powers utilizing the cosmic energy bestowed upon his artificial form by Chronos and Mentor. Drax had super-human strength and was capable of lifting (pressing) 40 tons. His body, while possessed by his spirit was totally invulnerable to all forms of physical injury Drax could fly by harnessing cosmic energy as a propulsion source. The maximum rate of speed that Drax could attain is not known: he could, however make interplanetary journeys in a manner of weeks. Drax could also harness his cosmic energy and channel it through his arms for concessive blasts. The maximum amount of force that Drax could wield is not known; he could, however, shatter large ferrous meteors.


With it he is much more powerful.

I figured he has the strength of hercules, he can fly, and can shoot beams out of his hands...thats pretty good.
But he doesn't have the strength of Hercules. He has class 40 strength according to the information vindrow posted earlier. Flight's really his only advantage as far as I can see, and Hercules is no newbie when it comes to fighting flying opponents thanks to his time with the Avengers.

I believe that Gladiator would probably win, I don't think it would be an easy victory for him. Marvel has always down played Herc's abilities, even on the Avengers he seemed to be part of the background, which is unfortunate since I think there is a lot of potential for this character :)

Wonderman is a match for the Thing. Not to mention flying etc. Warpath would have been able to do jack.
