Have you guys read Apocalypse's bio? It says,

"Since Apocalypse can increase his strength by drawing on outside energy sources, his strength is potentially incalculable."

Also,

"Apocalypse is a mutant who possesses superhuman strength which he can augment by psionically drawing on outside energy sources. Apocalypse can alter the atomic structure of his body at will in order to change his form. He can even increase his size by taking on additional mass from a presumably extra-dimensional source. Through his ability to alter his form, Apocalypse can give himself virtually any superhuman physical power. Apocalypse's "costume" is actually part of his body, and he can psionically alter its appearance at will. He can levitate himself telekinetically.

Apocalypse has an extraordinarily long life span that has already lasted thousands of years. He can survive for weeks without food or water and can rapidly recover from injuries that would prove fatal to normal human beings. In the future, however, his physical form will eventually grow too aged and enfeebled to contain his vast superhuman energies. Hence, he will transfer his consciousness and powers into a succession of host bodies, abandoning each one when it too grows too old to contain his power."

If he wanted to, he could take over Silver Surfer's body. And, look at the number of people who have tried to destroy him, including Cable.

I do think that Apocalypse would eventually lose to the Surfer...but it definatley would NOT be easy by any means...I can't believe how many people are just shrugging off Apocalypse.

Apocalypse is basically a really good shapeshifter with super-strength and flight. I don't see why people are going so balls-to-the-wall crazy insisting that he's amazingly powerful. The Silver Surfer's built to take down guys that would make Apocalypse look like a little girl.

Yeah, but you forget who these characters are. While Apocalypse would totally prepare for Silver Surfer and know how to take him out, Silver Surfer is a goon when it comes to preparing for a confrontation. Apocalypse would take him completely by surprise while the Surfer is brooding about whatever he's brooding about at that moment.

I don't factor prep time into any of these fights. If you do that, it becomes way too complicated because there are too many variables. I look at it as if the two characters were plucked from whatever they were doing, dropped onto a battlefield, and forced to fight with their normal personalities intact. Yes, the Surfer's a pacifist, but he's also not beholden to human morality. He'd kill Apocalypse if he thought he needed to, and Apocalypse is powerful and crazy enough that he'd probably figure he needed to. When he comes to that decision, nothing Apocalypse can do would stop him. The Silver Surfer can literally play with the fabric of the universe when he really starts using his power.

And, if he was plucked, I doubt Silver Surfer would recognize him at first...but, Apocalypse would totally realize who the Silver Surfer was.

Apocalypse doesn't NEED goons. He is just above sullying his hands on such trivial matters that goons could (or should) easily do. And, while Silver Surfer might have the potential to "annihilate an entire planet," he wouldn't...especially Earth.

You are missing my point. No one is saying SS is annihilating a planet. And Apocalypse needs goons. He always recreate his four horsemen to do his bidding. He always rely on others to help him weed out the weak. SS on the other hand is a lone being capable of devastating an entire solar system on his own. Apocalypse is obviously having a hard time dealing with Earth. That shows how powerful SS is compared to Apocalypse.

Here are Forge's powers:

Known superhuman powers: Forge is a mutant with a superhuman talent for inventing mechanical devices. Forge's mutant ability functions in a similar fashion to Cypher's mutant ability to understand languages. Forge's superhuman talent for invention does not mean that he is a greater inventor than geniuses such as Reed Richards, Victor von Doom, or Anthony Stark, none of whom owe their talent for invention to mutation. But even a genius at invention must for the most part consciously work out the theoretical principles behind the invention and then the design of the invention itself through a series of logical steps. In Forge's case, however, many of these logical steps would be worked out by his subconscious mind. Hence, Forge himself might not be entirely aware of exactly how he figured out how to create an invention of his.

Forge also possesses various mystical abilities, including spell casting, which have yet to be revealed. For the most part he has not used these abilities in years, and hence is out of practice in wielding them.

Known Superhuman Powers: Through chemical means the Hobgoblin has given himself superhuman strength whose exact extent is unknown, but which is said nearly to equal that of Spider-Man, who can lift (press) about 10 tons.

Weaponry: The Hobgoblin uses a large variety of weaponry, most of which he has adapted from the arsenal of the original Green Goblin. He utilizes various concussion and incendiary grenades, constructed in the form of miniature jack o’lantern. One of the incendiary grenades ignites almost soundlessly, and releases enough heat to melt through a 3-inch thick sheet of steel. He also carries a variety of smoke and gas emitting bombs, which are each surrounded by a light plastic mantle that flutters like a wraith when the bomb is thrown. The Hobgoblin has improved upon a chemical discovery of the original Goblin's that can neutralize Spider-Man's extrasensory "spider-sense." The Hobgoblin's version can neutralize this power of Spider-Man's for a time period of somewhere over 24 hours, possibly over 36. The Hobgoblin also has a number of casehardened razor-edged throwing blades, which are forged into batwing shapes. The Hobgoblin carries much of his small, portable weaponry in his shoulder bag.

The Hobgoblin's gloves are interwoven with micro-circuit powered conducting filaments capable of channeling pulsed discharges of 10,000 volts of high frequency electrical power from rechargeable power packs in both his glove cuffs and costume tunic. They have the capacity to discharge for up to five minutes of sustained fire before depleting their power supply. Recently, the Hobgoblin has added a device triggered by pressing an area on his tunic. This activates a computerized firing mechanism which causes his arm to move about in an apparently random manner, rapidly firing electrical discharges from his glove. The Hobgoblin designed this device in order that Spider-Man could not use his spider-sense to evade his blasts.

Forge. A big gun (like the one on the card ) will take care of ranged attacks and even crude mystic shields will suffice to keep hobbys' weapons at a safe distance. Hobby has been high profile enough for Forge to be familiar with, while Hobby may not know anything about Forge. Like the fact that he can hurl mystic bolts at the goblin glider and dump Hobby on his head. And when he lands he has all those nice high explosives on him

Yeah, but Spidey has the added benefit of brawn combined with that. All Forge can do at this point is try shooting at Hobby. Hobby goes in quick and knocks him out.

Considering the whole Mandarin not needing to use the abilities that would allow Maelstrom to control him, i.e. mindcontrol ring, matter rearranger ring, disentigration ring, and the impact ring, I wouldn't just write the Mandarin off. Or, he could just defeat him like how the Avengers did: nail him with the infinite flow of laser energy, overloading him and making him dissapate. Though turning him to stone would work a lot better if you were to ask me. Or just trick him, leave his disentigrator ring on the ground, come out firing to bait the poor jerk, and as soon as he flies over that ring, just annihalate him. But hey, there's all sorts of ways to look at it of course.

Maelstrom absorbs kinetic energy, Mandarins ice blast negates it. If he had enough control the matter rearranger would allow the Mandarin to alter Maelstroms' dna and remove his powers completely or alter them into something embarressing like kinetically enhanced farts

He had enough control over it to change the body he took over to look like his old body. So I could see him just changing him to stone, or just ripping him apart.

My idea was this: Angelo goes through a secondary mutation and becomes pure psionic energy. the only thing is he can't be seen, and the mansion is always so full, telepaths write him off as echos or static. so now, he's beening hanging around a mansion that has been destroyed a few times trying to get everyone's attention. and he is one of the few to survive M-Day. so now, he is looking for his lost love, the girl he wanted to be with, but he's afraid to leave the mansion.
