It's not exactly easy to clobber Venom. The only person I've seen beat the living crap out of Venom outright is Carnage, and he's basically just Venom with a lot more power and a lot less of a conscience.

If Spidey can easily defeat opponents like Titania and Crusher Creel the stronger and more aggressive Venom would easily defeat the Thing. Titania is as strong as the Thing and possibly more invulnerable and has been repeatedly punched out by Spidey. Ben Grimm has a lot more fighting spirit than "Skeeter" McPheren but then again Venom has more than Spidey. I think the parallels would hold.
