I'd love to see Storm and Jean fighting. We haven't seen two female mutants battle it out yet on film (I think...). Callisto would be cool too, but I REALLY want her to fight Dark Phoenix. :D
I wonder why Mystique hasn't kicked any X-Lady ass yet.

And you are misinformed.
I didn't say that "ALL women" think Halle Berry is attractive. I said "Most", and that can be proven by polls. Acknowleging that a person is good-looking doesn't mean that they like their personality, nor does it say they enjoy her acting ability. It simply says that aesthetically-speaking they believe she is a good-looking person. This is not a difficult concept to understand. To illustrate: Salma Hayek is not my type in the least--but even I can see why other men think she's drop dead gorgeous. It's a general opinion, and I can acknowledge that without compromising my personal taste in women.
Therefore, there is no such propoganda here: It is a fact that there are many women who hate Halle Berry--and it is a fact there is a great deal of jealousy heaped toward her for various reasons ranging from her looks, to her biraciality, to her controversial Oscar win. I said nothing about Halle Berry beyond the superficial in that post--and these general "opinions" can be proven as fact.
I'm not sure why you are choosing to zero in on my posts on this thread--but please know that I've never believed that there is a "universal Halle adoration". One look at various message boards tells all, and I'm puzzled by your presumptuous generalizing of my thinking. I'm well aware of the varying views of this actress...So I don't need you to police--and certainly not "enlighten"--my opinion constantly. :o
sorry if i sound like i'm attacking or policing you, but something about comments like "her looks--which in the common opinion is flawless" trouble me because i feel that you're usurping our opinions. and in this case i think you're misrepresenting us.
i know i have probably made general statements like that as well (like if i said "most people" or such), but when you're using a strong word such as "flawless" i find it problematic to apply that opinion as common, regardless of whether or not you think that's true.
for example if i were to say that it's common opinion that president bush is a heartless murderer, that would be unfair. many may have opinions that are close or similar to that, but not as extreme, so i shouldnt be able to apply it to them.
ok, so i may be reading into it too much, but you use terms like "the common opinion" a lot when saying good things about halle, and it just bothers me. it feels like trickery to get people thinking "oh, a lot of people think she's the hottest thing in the galaxy, so i guess if i dont there's something wrong with me."
ok, i'll drop it now. thanks for listening.

Halle VS Ashley... I want to see that! haha. How is Emma in the sky? Dragged up by Storm?
Ahhh...Emma was such a evil ****** back in the day. This was one of my fave X-Men stories...
Brief Description: (via uncannyxmen.net)
Pursued by Emma Frost (in Storm’s body), Storm (in Emma’s body) makes her escape from the Massachusetts Academy with Kitty Pryde. Kitty awakens and is frightened, thinking that Storm is Emma. She attempts an escape and Storm’s efforts to stop her result in the car going off the road and down an embankment. Kitty falls separately, protected by her phasing power, while the car explodes upon impact. Emma leaves, thinking them both dead. Kitty finds what she thinks to be the body of Emma Frost, lying just outside the fire from the car’s explosion. Though Kitty does not believe her at first, Storm manages to convince Kitty to help her, since she cannot take the risk of the other X-Men being in danger. Meanwhile, the other X-Men believe Storm has become the new White Queen at Shaw’s side. Guards take Wolverine from the room where they are being held captive. Storm and Kitty are picked up by Stevie Hunter and driven back to the mansion. After dropping them off and saying goodbye, Stevie is captured by Emma and Shaw. Within the mansion, Harry Leland seemingly kills Wolverine in the Danger Room, but it is merely the appearance of death, created by Amanda Sefton. Storm uses Emma’s psionic powers to help Kitty unlock mansion’s hanger’s hatch, as Kitty is able to phase through the earth to get to it. The two manage to get inside before Emma and Shaw, still patrolling the outdoors, attack them. Inside, Kitty finds Wolverine and they exchange information. Kitty frees the X-Men by phasing through their inhibitor collars. Shaw is thrown by Colossus through a hole in the wall that Shaw had created, into the lake. The X-Men and the members of the Hellfire Club battle until a freak storm appears. On his way back, Shaw is struck down by an extremely intense bolt of lightning. Storm forces a psionic rapport with Emma in order to control the storm and then uses the persona exchange gun to switch their bodies back. All this occurs far up in the sky. Emma falls and Storm saves her just before impact, a favor for which Emma shows her appreciation by proceeding to attack Storm. Her patience depleted, Storm goes wild and intends to kill Emma, but is stopped by Wolverine’s reasoning that Storm is the type of person to show others a different way of resolving such situations. Since both groups fear exposure, they agree not to involve the authorities. Emma explains that, until Shaw recovers, the X-Men have nothing to fear from the Hellfire Club but, inwardly, vows that someday the X-Men will all die.

This movie needs to establish Storm's power and strength of character - through her powers, her background and having to step in to a leadership role if Cyclops is not around.
For that reason, I hope Storm is not de-powered or badly defeated at any point (ARE YOU LISTENING Zak/Brett/whoever at Fox?!), as this is the film that should define her positively. If she fights any of the big powerhouse mutants (Magneto, Phoenix) it should be a stand-off. I don't want to see Magneto just dispense with her quickly, or Phoenix for that matter.
This movie needs to do for Storm what the other haven't really achieved or have only achieved in a few scenes. So let's hope that whomever she fights, it is done for a reason and is well portrayed.
A fight scene with Phoenix would be visually epic, but only if they use a visual fire effect for the Phoenix.
Storm needs to have a fight scene in which she shows her elemental majesty, the essence of who she is and what she is.

I know that there is a scene where Storm talks at a funeral....who's we dont know for certain but I have an idea. That can probably show a side to her we havent seen...a sad, mourning Storm...or maybe she turns all angry or we could see a stronger side to her...
She will be going back to Jeans house....what happens there we dont know but Halle has been filming some 'flight' scenes which involve her 'spinning around'....
There are the mansion scene that we dont know much about...

I dont think a Storm movie will be made...
If it were going to happen , a main factor would if Halle was involved. I dont think they will do a Storm movie if Halle isnt Storm. Mainly because Halle IS Storm in the general public's minds and Halle is an A-List actress which would bring in more $.
A Storm movie with a fairly unknown actress would do :down
S7ilver
11-21-2005, 02:41 PM
That's true with pretty much any solo movie though. I'd love to see a Storm movie, she has so much potential and so much history not associated with the X-Men that it'd be very interesting, but wasn't there already a rumor that a Storm movie was being made? I was looking through the guide on my TV last night and this show on Bravo was on, it was the top "Super Vixens" or something and Storm made 13. She was the only X-Woman that made it too

you mean the catsuit that was more perplexing then sexy?

Expect knock-out acting scenes shared between Grammer and Patrick Stewart's Professor X, Ian McKellen's Magneto, and Storm, among others we can't name yet.
You want drama? X3 will surely bring it to you. If done right, X3 will be the most dramatic X-film yet!
So Storm gets a scene with Magneto?....

BERRY: 'I'LL NEVER WED AGAIN'
Oscar-winning actress HALLE BERRY has vowed never to marry again.
The former BOND girl, 39, exchanged vows with DAVID JUSTICE in 1992 and ERIC BENET in 2001, but both relationships lasted just four years and ended in divorce.
She says, "After two failures, I won't marry again.
"Putting on that dress and walking down the aisle is of no value to me."

Wise decision Halle.:) Some of the longest relationships in Hollywood are of people who don't tie the knot (Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell - Oprah/Steadman, Susan Sarandon/Tim Robbins etc.). I'm not saying people shouldn't get married it's just that some people change when they stick that ring aorund their finger.

biggest problem with hollywood relationships are the fact that actors marry actors.. and singers marry singers... well guess what... might look good on paper having something in common but when you get home from work you really want to hear about your spouses day that went the same as yours? There was a psychologist on tv saying the same thing and i agree with it. You have to have common interests but the same job makes it mundane and pretty boring. and to be honest look and compare celebs who marry actors to those who dont.... and check the divorce rates

I could be mistaken, but I believe that's because Halle didn't have a Box office release in 2005, so she wasn't included in their tracking. owever, what she signed for to do X3 will be taken into consideration for the charts for 2006.

nappily every after (romantic comedy)
tulia (true story about the infamous drug sting, police corruption, and resulting court cases)

I know i might get flamed for saying. Let start off by stating that i love Halle BUT both Foxx and Theron signed for those projects before they were in the running for Oscars. Halle could have chosen not to go with a bomb-in-the-making (Catwoman) they couldn't.

Well, I'll put it to you this way:
If I recall correctly Catwoman went through over two dozen serious rewrites during the filming process, so the film's storyline and outcome was in a state of flux the entire time.
So what Halle signed on to do prior to preproduction was obviously lightyears away from what was released at the end of the day. Seems to me that she thought it'd be a career-besting, franchise-launching choice...but it became a runaway train wreck that she simply couldn't get off (as she was contractually bound by that point). It's too bad...but this underscores the importance of getting with good actors, good directors and savvy writers. Halle failed in making good choices in this regard.
And apparently, Charlize did as well. Check out this quote:
"Aeon" is laughable in the rare instances when it's not painfully dull. At least it may provide a bit of comfort to former "Catwoman" Halle Berry: She's no longer the only recent Best Actress winner who has embarrassed herself as a would-be action star -- and "Aeon" is even worse than "Catwoman."

You bad boys!!!
first: she never NEVER fakes it, no need
second:about the orgasm it depends if she is in love or not (first pasion then love)
and third:her lover is always the same as you can assume from the name of the place where i'm reading it (and really anjoying it by the way...)

I think that maybe Colussus and Shadowcat will be in there too, because of the scene in the trailer when the four are walking down a hall. Both x-Men and X-2 have pretty much started the story with Wolverine by himself (Except for the flashbacks in the beginning of X-Men)

Coming to DVD on Dec. 6th:
Their Eyes Were Watching God (TV-14, Buena Vista) Zora Neale Hurston's acclaimed novel of indomitable womanhood, embodied by a radiant Halle Berry, turns into high-end chick lit in this glossily handsome (and now blissfully commercial-free) made-for-TV movie from producer Oprah Winfrey

How do you guys like Storm promo shot from USA Today? I'd like to see her in action, not just a promo shot, but it's not bad...

I like the hair. But the photo is "soo-soo". Her skin tone is too muted. But overall, it looks good.
But I am sure she will look better in live action.

Yeah, I think that the problem is more with the photo itself than Halle's wig or anything. It looks washed out and will probably be much better onscreen.

If we are basing opinion on photos alone, I much prefer her X2 look to the X3 look. Here's hoping better photographs are released, and she looks better on film.
Although if she has to look exactly like that photo, I would've preferred that they do away with the flip and give her a cut like the AoA storyline:

Exactly Ted. I love the coloring of the hair--it makes her look tough and older. It's that little piece over there that is bugging me--I guess because I can't tell how it fits in with the rest of the style.
So I just need to see the whole thing to make a real judgement.

They've toned Halle's make-up a LOT. It looks like she's hardly wearing any at all. Is this because of Storm's more maternal role in the film?
Kmack
12-05-2005, 08:03 AM
The new look is so....retro.
The X2 pic is heavily airbrushed, and they really toned up the make-up for the photo (same for the Rogue promo done in the same style). So pics of Storm for posters might look just as glamourous in the end...

I see the mixed reaction and I don't get it.
Many complained that Storm was too soft and was always smirking in the promo photos (things that are generally uncharacteristic of the character). Soooooo, they fix it, make her look harder and less glam and people whine in the other direction.
She's still beautiful. But if she's going to be "spinning" and "flying" and "knocking people over" she can't be doing all that looking soft and cuddly people. Storm has to evolve.
I haven't seen anyone complain that she looks too tough... yet. Mostly it's as you said - it's weird without seeing the full pic, and the quality makes the pic look harsh.
We're in an adjusting period. :p That doesn't make us all unsatisfied fanboys (which I'm not saying you're calling us, LS, but a few people just want the people who have registered any dislike to shut up).

Actually, I was just coming from AICN when I typed that my friend. They were ripping EVERYTHING apart, especially Beast.
I was afraid this would happen though: Because the prior films have gotten us used to this weaker Storm, people are going to have a harder time adjusting to the REAL Storm--whom we should've gotten in the first place.
Well I get the feeling it isn't just going to be a tougher storm, ppl will have to ajust to a few of the charcaters being darker.

And let's not forget, people are going to rag on Halle no matter how she looks. She's a magnet for that type of stuff.
Oh really? I was at AICN in the early hours of the morning and saw some people who didn't like the pics (including Harry), but no major bashing of Storm. I can see what you mean about people having a hard time watching Storm because they're accustomed to the more reserved version. Hopefully enough seeds were planted in X2 for people to just accept and enjoy it.

I agree ljr. It sounds like everyone is going to be a bit "harder" this time. Even Angel--with his Colgate-white wings--looks darker.
LOl,but frankly though I loved what singer did with the x-men,they were to gentle-they did to let loose and kick ass.

This is true.
I wonder if she really "gets it right" this time if some of us will finally accept/forgive her?
What I see is this:
She was putting out strong films and faltered with Catwoman. She made a major mistake, lost face, and then humbly accepted it (even accepting her Razzie Award--something that has never been done by an Oscar Award Winner).
Now, she's used her star power and influence as an actress and producer to get FOX & Co. to fix Storm and give us what we want--a warrior "Goddess" that kicks major arse. And it sounds like they've acquiesced to her wishes.
I see her trying to fix things....but I think that some will just not forgive her because she's the one actress that some love to hate.
I don't care how many crap movies the woman has done so long as she gets storm right and doesn't screen hog i'll like her.

I think this time her hair looks a bit more natural than in part 2. I didn't like the blonde tint they added for X2.

It was so exciting today to wake up the the new pictures! Im loving how everybody looks, especially Storm, since she's always been my favorite, I've been worried about how her new look would turn out. If she truly is kicking arse in this trailer methinks a lot of those fools will shut up for a while. I think the hair and all of the changes are being done because they have made Storm grow up. Maybe she's tougher now out of circumstance.

I really dont understand all the hate with Storm's previous hair styles. In the comic she seems to go through a new hairstyle per month. Arthur Adams would have her hair coming down to her knees in some issues and Jim lee to her ass. Personally I liked her hair style best in Xmen 2. This new short cropped hair ill have to wait to see in action but I think Halle is so georgeous she can pull off any short doo well.
