Bluefire, please read the below excerpt from the Hype's FAQ Section:

"Trolling is considered the starting of a thread or posting in an established thread or forum for the expressed purpose of ticking off as many people as possible that would normally be reading that thread or forum. Trolling can result in a warning or probation. Continued trolling may result in banning."

You have fallen into this category. In the past, you received warnings from other moderators. However, this is my first and last warning to you. Make another comment like the above, and I will place you on probation.

I suggest you reread that definition on Trolling.

Do you see the point? This is not a Storm/Halle Berry hate thread. 99.9% of the users here enjoy the character and/or the actress, yet your inflammatory comments are offensive to others in this community. They express their disdain--not for your opinion of the actress--but the degrading manner in which you communicate it. I've tried to be fair and tolerant with you but I'm starting to think my kindness is being mistaken for weakness.

If you can't find intelligent and respectful ways to communicate your dislike for something, then perhaps you shouldn't be communicating here at all. Keep up the trollish behavior and I will make that a reality.

i've just read some interesting info on storm. and even thoug halle berry is an opportunistic whore, i am so thankful i will atleast see storm do some interesting power effects and a little romance in the film.

It's shocking that anyone would go around calling another human being an "opportunistic whore" - especially when they don't even personally know someone. Wow ...

That just validates how sad our world is becoming aye.

You must be a pretty miserable, shallow, cynical and insecure person to have the nerve to pass judgement and criticise people, while hiding behind the convenience of an internet - and clearly very fake - personality.

Shucks, I didn't expect to see this kind of behaviour happening at an X-Men message board, but you know - you get surprised everyday ...

Halle Berry is Eva Longoria's muse!
Washington | March 02, 2006 3:36:51 PM IST

'Desperate Housewives' star Eva Longoria wants to let herself go and show her dirty side in a gritty, dark film drama.

The actress, was inspired by Halle Berry's Oscar-winning turn in Monster's Ball and believes challenging roles are the key to winning awards.

"(I want to do a) Monster's Ball-type thing like Halle Berry. I think you can stay sexy and still do really challenging roles," she was quoted by Contactmusic, as saying.

Man, talk about shallow. What ever happened to acting because you love the craft? It seems from this that she is only interested in winning awards. "I must be in a gritty drama because I must win an award...."

I think she is hinting. She wants to do something different when Desperate Housewives finishes. She doesnt want to be locked in one role for the rest of her life.

Maybe if she had said "I really want to challenge myself as an actor. I'd like to take on tougher, more grittier roles." Maybe I could have respected her then.

But the mere mention of "awards"...well, that's just not cool in my book.

*sigh*

Telling, isn't it?

Nine times out of ten these tv actors, who in the show they are in seem to be the best thing since the invention of mircowave pancakes, and then they leave the show, craving to do "meatier" parts, and they fall flat on their faces. Some are able to succeed, not many but some. Most end up as has beens wondering what went wrong.

X-Maniac
03-03-2006, 12:59 PM
Well, her 'meatier' roles have so far been a make-up commercial.

She is very pretty, but very small! In one episode of the second series, she is squeezing into a dress that is a US size 'zero' and may have to go up to a 'double zero'. What on earth size is that? A girl at work reckons it's a UK size 4, which absolutely no woman would be unless they were a skeleton or had something seriously wrong with them. Here a size 8 is very slim, anyone less would be like a stick.

oh please, the way half of you talk about halle on this thread you would think she was a life long friend of yours so i think i have a right to talk about halle berry with EQUAL emotion.Except instead of lifelong friend its more like life long enemy. the reason i called halle berry a _________ is because she has repeatedly done things to get roles for movies that completely disgust me! such as her playing the race card for that lack luster role she played in the flinstones aswell as her apparently sleeping with former hardcore french porn director of catwoman for the part of selina kyle, a role she also destroyed.

You must be the kind of person who thinks we have the right to yell "Fire!" in a crowed theater as well. Newsflash, there are limits on all the "freedoms" we have, and what you're doing is using it to cause problems, which is one of those limits.

Here's another newsflash for you, this has nothing to do with the fact that you have an opinion to begin with anyway. This has to do with HOW it's said, and that is not acceptable, nor is it intelligent as you claim. Using constant vulgar insults and profanity is not the mark of an intelligent conversationalist. That's the sign of a child.

Valid points? Stupid, baseless rumors such as the ones you list in your second post are not valid points. All you do is believe everything negative you hear about her just because you don't like her as an actress. You're just looking to dignify your insults so you come off as the victim. Maybe when you can actually look at stuff surrounding her without bias, then maybe other people can take you seriously. It's very clear that nothing you've ever said on here is not clouded with this sad hate you have for her, and you're clearly only saying this stuff to get a rise out of people who do like her. It's pathetic and sad, and the only reason you haven't been banned before is because maybe they thought you could change, but clearly you can't.

Of course you're entitled to your opinion--whatever it may be. However, it is not your dislike of Halle Berry that makes you seem like a petulant child with a mad-on for a woman you don't know, but the way in which you express your opinion (ie. the vulgar language and rants).

As for your "thousands of paragraphs with intelligent posts", look above. the vulgar language and monosyllabic tirades that seem to be your specialty do not count as 'intelligent'. They are belligerent-- so perhaps that's what you meant.

The reason you haven't been banned is because the Mods seem to have infinite patience for the uneducated. The "special" sometimes need extra leniency, and seeing as how LS is on vacation, it would appear you will have a weekend reprieve to lash about and vent. I'd suggest you take advantage of it to mellow out and rethink butting heads with a Mod. Especially a mod that can and will ram back.

It is your heavy bias that clouds you from seeing that no one is telling you not to have an opinion. Just be respectful of the way you post it.

of course there a limits on all freedoms i never said that. but right now what were talking about is freedom of speech not yelling fire in a crowded theatre trying and keep up or don't bother jumping in an arguement at all.

2] i have posted numerous points regarding halle berry's...ways that do not include rumors...especially a rumor that came from quite a valuable source.
3] you don't know AT ALL why i haven't been and if the reason for me not being banned is what your suggesting then i would have atleast been temp banned b4 which i have NEVER been.

out of curiosity do you halle berry fans take pleasure out of creating utter and complete lies like this one? i have spoken to the mods on this very board and they have told me nothing of what you claim and have never once reprimanded me for any comments i have said towards halle. the only the time they tlked to me was when i admitedly made vulgar comments towards the woman playing x-stacys appearance and mentioned she should commit suicide.THATS IT, they recoginise that every seemingly rude comments i've made towards halle has been backed up with valid points despite how you halle berry worshippers wish otherwise.

Couple of things that you should probably be aware of...First up, I don't worship Halle. I like her as an actress and that's all. I don't know her, nor do I need to to appreciate her onscreen.

Secondly, I doubt the mods "recoginise" anything you say as valid, especially considering that "recoginise" is not an English word. But I won't delve too deeply into your atrocious defilement of the english language, only as far as needed to refute your 'intellegent posts' comment. *pause* Ok, done.

Now, the third thing I would like you to be aware of is a word called Facetious. Look it up if you need to, then re-read my post.

Bluefire, you quite plainly called Halle a 'diseased whore' in an earlier post, and now an 'opportunistic whore'.

That language is not acceptable. It's bad enough trying to read your infantile posts, which are so badly composed that you have obviously not had much of an education. You fail to express yourself clearly, you fail to earn people's respect, and what you do say is either incomprehensible or unpardonably rude.

Face the fact that Halle will be Storm in X3. There isn't a thing you can do about it. Vomiting your 'whore' insults over this thread has not earned you any points.

We would like to see you gone. Not because you dislike Halle but because you cannot conduct yourself with any manners or decency.

Get yourself educated and then come back here.

You dislike Halle Berry? That's fine. But at the end of the day, the actress is still a human being. Making degrading jokes about her loss of hearing, her abusive relationships, her diabetes disease, likening her to a "whore", etc., are just over the top--and again, offensive to others in this community. And the fact is, you could say those things about ANY of these hardworking actors, and we would feel just as strongly.

Stop deflecting blame and take some responsibility. I suggest you think carefully before you post in the future.

Halle just had her part on the Oscars. It was in the opening skit. John Stewart woke up in his bed, with her next to him, saying he just had the craziest dream that he was asked to host the awards. She said, "And what makes you think you're actually awake now?" Some more banter between the two, involving him trying to sneak a peak at her, um, lower area, but she shut him down saying she's got full pajamas on.

I agree!...and what I like about it aswell is the fact that it isnt a beauty shot, it doesnt make Halle look drop dead gorgeous, but it makes her look like Storm, strong and powerfull. I read somewhere that Bryan Singer cast Halle as Storm because he wanted to bring some sex appeal to the movie. He used Storm as an object, just to stand there and look sexy, and make some tornadoes occasionally. But I think Brett Ratner really allowed Halle to get into character, and he gave her some very good material to work with, because in the end, Halle isnt just a pretty face, she is a talented and accomplised actress, and should be allowed to show off her talent. I think Halle nailed Storm this time, and I personally think that there couldn't be a btter Storm than Halle Berry.

I loved the trailer, Everything about Storm was great, Halle finally nails the role, and its obvious that the director this time cared for the characters(all of them) not just few he liked. I loved it, so what are your favorite Storm moments from the trailer. Mine was the one above, the one where she says that There is nothing about us that need to be cured, and also the other part where she talks about choosing a side. I loved everything, this movie is far more emotional in everyway than the last two films.

Love this scene. The sheer, raw emotion that would put them both in that position is going to be fantastic on screen.

I have to echo what everyone else has said. Finally, we get the Storm we should have had from the first movie onward. A strong, opinionated Storm. And emotional Storm. An impressively powerful Storm. This is the Storm we'll all remember out of the trilogy.

I was thinking the same thing; great observation.

It's clear from the first film that Storm always had a problem with Logan's fence-sitting attitude. There apparently won't be time in this conflict to be neutral, so she's reminding him again to choose a side. It's already been said that there will be some arguing between the two, as well as resolution of some issues in their relationship.

So this may really complete their arc--along the lines of politics.

Lightning Strykez!
03-07-2006, 10:27 AM
And that's all that's important at this stage: We don't need a sexual romance--we just need that friendship between the two characters strengthened. Who knows--it may expand into something more serious in future films.

I don't think that there will be graphic sex scenes between Logan and Ororo in this movie--which is what the writers hinted at. Something tells me that if there were, they would've used a snippet of those scenes for sex appeal to sell the movie. They've steered clear of that.

Gotta say, that using an antagonistic developement plot is a great way to bring these two together. They don't seem to be rushing this at all, taking their time and giving them something to grow from, even if it is opposing emotional sentiment. We all know how opposites attract, but to show their indifferent attitudes before having them jump each others bones is just good story telling. Plus it keeps from cheapening the character depiction. I was always worried, from the way it was originally mentioned, that ROLO would be done crappy... glad my worries were unfounded.

Gosh, even I'm blown away by her portrayal in this trailer. I've maybe watched at least 50 times, which is nothing something I'm not entirely proud of but I do believe it was very well done. Storm looks absolutely amazing. Being an avid X-Men fan I try not to look too into 'bad' things in the movies, I just feel I should happy I'm getting X-Men movies at all but I kinda cringed in the first movie at Halle's portrayal of Storm. I love Halle, I think she's a great actress but I started to lean with my father in terms of thinking that it was a poor choice and she chosen simply to stand there, look pretty and throw a couple of lightning bolts.

In X2 my thought improved but I wanting for the Storm that was beyond powerful that I've seen in the comics, and this is it. She looks amazing, a true force to be reckoned with. I can't wait to show my father and see what he thinks of it, I think he'll agree that she is moreso Storm in this movie than the other two combined.

Yes, and notice the tremendous tidal wave in front of her.

Now it begs the question: Does she create this flood wave from condensation in the air (which is something that Storm has done in the comics), or is she manipulating/pulling the water from an existing source like a tank?

I think the latter. The water is clearly coming out of a big pipe infront of a hovering Storm.

But the set reports stated that she "creates a tidal wave." While busting a pipe open would certainly fall under that, I'd be more impressed if she actually created a flash flood from the water in the air...although that might be a bit farfetched for the realism of this film.

I think the latter. The water is clearly coming out of a big pipe infront of a hovering Storm.

Or what if she summoned a lightning bolt to shatter the pipe, and then used her winds to hurl the gushing water at her enemies? Because the scene of her rising shows that water flaring out specifically forward and out--and her hands are outstretched--which she only does when she's manipulating energies.

That's what I think she's doing, summoning the water through the pipe and sending it gushing towards the brotherhood. I think the whole tidal wave scenario might have been a bit exaggerated. When I heard tidal wave I immediately thought "The Day After Tomorrow", I thought she'd actually fly really high over Alcatraz and summon a huge wave form the water surrounding the island.

Yes, and notice the tremendous tidal wave in front of her.

Now it begs the question: Does she create this flood wave from condensation in the air (which is something that Storm has done in the comics), or is she manipulating/pulling the water from an existing source like a tank?

I just watched it a couple of more times and am thinkin' it's the latter. I believe this scene might take place at Alcatraz and she's amassing the water from what surrounds the island, bridge, etc. I'm not so sure that's a dust cloud now either, as it looks to be just more water. But it appears dirty 'cause of the brownish color and that's what must've thrown me off. God, this movie is gonna be SO AWESOME! :D

What will be truly interesting is if the sky quakes with lightning and thunder during that entire battle, considering that Storm's emotions are directly tied to it.

I also want to comment on this scene: In the comics Xavier is forever chastising Storm (in a loving, fatherly manner of course) regarding her emotions--because they are directly tied to weather patterns.

From the first trailer, we see Storm on this same balcony looking out wistfully as the clouds darken. Now we see that Xavier joins her, and he looks up and notices that her emotions are getting the best of her. Hence the line, "You know better than anyone else how fast the weather can change."

Now that looks and sounds like something lifted directly from a comic book page.

Dare I say (and here's where Bosef and The Guard pop out from nowhere) that the emotion and dialogue seen so far makes that in the previous two X-movies seem rather one-dimensional... I so wish we would have new versions of those first two movies (even some sneaky reshoots!) just to create a seamless, power-packed trilogy.

Ditch the part where Storm 'can't control it like that'. Ditch the 'same thing that happens to everything else.' Let's see emotion wrapped up with pure mutant power. I hope to God we get new director's cuts of the first two movies or I am so NOT going to want to watch them again!

I wonder will this moment in the movie lead into a Storm flashback/origin scene. Maybe Professor X says something to Storm about her emotions and triggers some memory from her youth. The zooming in on her face could be a tool used by Ratner to signal a flashback for the audience, zoom in on her face then we see her face close-up in the past and the camera slowly zooms out.

I know...plus that blonde wig. It was like they were trying to make her look uber-sexy and that's why I couldn't shake the feeling of "That's just Halle in a wig."

The X3 make-up designers are obviously focusing on making her look mature as an elder of the mansion--not a sex pot. She's still gorgeous, but it's definitely being understated.

Yup. She's still gorgeous, but that isn't main proiority this time, where as it did seem to be in the first 2 movies.

In the final battle with the large Brotherhood. What if...

Storm creates a ton of moisture in the air and Iceman freezes it instantly...that would so rock, taking out like dozens of guys. Iceman can freeze the moisture much faster than Storm and it would be a great team tactic.

I think that's a possibility. Halle is not necessariy "fair" skinned--she definitely has the features of a Black Woman--and one would not take her for anything else if they saw her on the street. Yet, X2 in particular made her look almost albino in some scenes.

I thought she looked decent in X1. The length of hair was classic for Storm, but too much for Halle's face I think. I feel like it overwhelmed her a bit, making her look shorter, a la Cousin It. But it was passable. I would've loved to see her in X3 with that same length, but as a high ponytail.

X2 in my opinon was easily the worst look of the series. Nothing further from Storm there. She looked soft and weak.

Halle/Storm had lots to do in the second film (stopping Dark Cerebro), definetly had a point of view in my opnion and also had great memorable scene with Nightcrawler. And I just wanted to add a favorite part of mine - weird or minor as it may sound - is the part where Halle screams for Logan. Just hearing the emotion in her voice is great. I was disappointed that she seemed to have no reaction in X2 at Jean's death, because I always assumed the pair to be friends.

Beyond that, she always seemed reserved, unexpressive. So seeing her expressing some emotion - at the beach finding Jean, the look on her face as her eyes change, her grief as she and Logan huddle together - is really great. The scream by itself is great to me.

I agree.

Halle excels best with dramatic roles. This is a sci-fi/action film. So to make it work for her they've got to write lines that encourage dramatic delivery. And that's really all it takes to "expand her role". It's not about more lines or more screentime--Halle made it clear she wasn't interested in that. She just wanted an environment where she could bring to the table what she does best.

Well,

Since Halle Berry donned the role of Storm--my ultimate No. 1 favorite Marvel heroine--I've followed her statements closely. And Halle has never complained about having a supporting role.

In fact, it's quite the opposite really: she says she loves ensemble films because she can do her part and go home--without all the pressure being on her back. Are you sure you're not absorbing the rumors perpetuated by fanboys on these boards?

And Halle has never complained about having a supporting role...she says she loves ensemble films...Are you sure you're not absorbing the rumors perpetuated by fanboys on these boards?

The fanboy way of disseminating information is one thing I hate about the Internet. Because of noone doing research and just blabbing on and on using rumors as fact (e.g., the Tavis Smiley interview story), Halle has been unfairly portrayed. I'm glad we can finally read interview transcripts so that people can stop jumping on her case.

I just wonder if she's saying it to Beast or Wolverine. Wolverine would be the real X1 homage obviously, but I think she's saying it to Beast. (and im sure pages ago, someone agreed with me)

Well its hard to tell, the scene where her eyes turn white, they are already turning white when we first see them so its hard to tell if they are blue or not.

EDIT: ok no, they are still brown like the first two films, thats for sure.

She's saying it to Wolverine. It's in the room as she's walking away as seen in the stills and such. Hugh said in an interview that Wolverine's biggest choice was in this film, whether he was simply working with the X-Men or if he wasan X-man.
