You're right. I never understood why Halle looked unmistakably a black woman everywhere else, but an albino in the X-Men series. :o Actually, she looked somewhat decent in X1 (skin tone, etc.,) but the makeup in X2 was beyond horrible in my opinion. She looked bleached.

Hmmm, I didn't take her look as "scared" as much as emotional. She looks distraught in my opinion, not fearful. And when she gets like that the clouds get to moving.

I don't think she was scared. She just heard about the cure from Beast and it was sort of like a oh-no-what-are-we-going-to-do look. She's feeling sorry for all the other mutants that are going to take the cure.

I think the balcony scene is Storm special moment that the writers tried to give to all the characters. However, I am sure Storm will get a few more special moments.

the only time professor referred to her was "Jean, Storm, i need you to take the jet", damn it wasnt even directly to her. Also, everyone's talked about their feelings to professor (Scott in X1, Professor talked about jean as a kid in the end of x2, and Logan in every movie). But we never really got a word of Storm's feelings, it was always commands or strategies...

It's always been something that bugged me.

* Jean had a total father/daughter relationship with Charles. They talked often, whether he was coming out of a coma, in Cerebro, etc.

* Scott was Charles right hand man (both were kidnapped together in X2). They had discussions over Logan's involvement in X1, and Scott promised Charles he'd take care of the team while the latter was in a coma.

* Logan's convo time with Charles of course is self-explanatory.

And all three of the above characters had time together with the Professor. A good example of this was when Logan and Scott got into an argument when Charles asked for Logan to join the team in X1--and Jean had to break it up.

But Storm? Heh....:o

She was even absent at the end of X2 when Scott and Hugh talked about the death of their teammate with Charles. :rolleyes:

Like I've always said--my biggest gripe about these films (outside of the lackluster adaptation of Storm) is the lack of comradiere/teamwork among the X-Men. They've never felt like a family to me. And that's why Jean's death felt empty in my opinion--only Scott and Logan were really affected. Everyone else reacted the way a coworker does when they get news that someone in their office has passed away--sad but not overmuch.

And since I always saw Xavier, Scott, Logan and Jean over here and Storm by herself over there, I'm looking foward to seeing her actually having some roots in this this team for once....instead of just being along for the ride.

Actually there was a great X2 scene that showed the girls in the Blackbird having a *sisterly* conversation about Logan. But as with most of Storm's character development scenes it was cut. LOL :p

i watch movies, not deleted footage. :p i just say that we couldnt see friendship on their words...you know when two girls are friends...they were teammates but didnt seem to have any intimacy...

I don't think we need to see everything that happens in their lives. I think it would have to serve the story and plot as well as the characters. Otherwise the film would drag.

We know that Jean and Storm know each other. I think most people would have some remorse if someone they knew even in passing had died. (Heck, even if they heard an unfortunate death on the news) Since we do know that Storm and Jean have known each other for a while, being among the first students at the school, it serves enough purpose for her to be sad over Jean's death. That serves the purpose of X2. I don't see any reason that they would have to elaborate on that for X-men 1's plot.

If they chose to, they could create a reason but I can see the flip side that with so many characters it might get confusing if they focused on too many in each movie. Storm has at least been set up as there for whatever she'll be doing in X3

Well I say easily, that's probably an exaggeration. I'd say Storm would really have to exert herself to create a massive tidal wave but I'm sure she could do it.

It's be like in the X-Men & Spider-Man novel Times Arrow pt 2: The Present.

Storm and Iceman are sent to the jungles of East Asia during a monsoon to battle the Wrecking Crew, who are there protecting one of Kang's timeline destroying machines.

She gathers all her energy and wills the storm to concentrate itself into a single point and focus all its energy on Kang's machine. This takes so much of her concentration that she is defenseless and Iceman is forced to protect her and fight the Wrecking Crew at the same time (ice doesn't last long in a tropical monsoon).

The book says later that the monsoon suddenly disappeared from radar instantly, and the energy released by the storm turned a vast expanse of the jungle into fused glass :D

Hopefully they make Storm THIS powerful :D

how could a jungle fuse into glass? now i know sand when struck by lighting turns to glass.. but i dont see how a jungle could fuse to glass?

I couldn't tell ya, I imagine it's because the energy contained in a hurricane, when condensed to a single point, would be like nuclear fusion of all surrounding material.

i missed that story... So she basically focused an entire monsoon rainstorm into a blast of water...

Fused glass!? Crikey. That's what lightning does when it strikes sand or any other quartz-rich material - the fused quartz is called fulgurite.

No, she focused the entire storm itself into such a small point that it became pure energy :D

That scene had some good interaction between Storm and Iceman. I also liked that simultaneously, Wolverine & Gambit were fighting Electro & Hydroman on a south Pacific island, and Beast & Cable were fighting Volcana & Rhino in Antarctica.

They're really good books, actually.

not really... electro cant shock himself.. and hydroman shouldnt be able to be shocked by electro... just expand his blasts making them both much more deadly....
