None of the problems with Storm's character in the first two movies can really be blamed on Halle Berry. Let's face it, in X1 she was given bad lines, a baaaaad wig, and really nothing to do.

IMO in X2 she was a really good Storm, although she seemed a bit too American for me... a little lacking in the "African Weather Goddess" vibe, if you know what I mean.

However, that's the character they've created, and it looks like we'll see much of the same Storm in X3 as we did in X2, just with a little extra passion and leadership.

Hopefully, She has a lot more passion and leadership!!!:up:

I've really liked what they've done with Storm, compared to that of X-men (1) and X2... even though she has been, and will be, Americanized, I think she will portray more of thos Storm qualities we all want her to - just not the weather calling and the African accent.

I disagree. When she challenged Logan to "Join us, fight with us" in X1 she sounded pretty close to the 90's animated series version of Storm--at least in my opinion.

Well you can't exactly hear voices or accents in the comics can you? If you can...then you need to seek help. How did my statement make it seem like the comics never existed? They were most likely trying to give Halle the accent that a true Kenyan-American would have and not some generic overexaggerated African dialect that so many are used to hearing...

I haven't met many people online or in real-life that have heard how a Kenyan-American woman really sounds...I, on the other hand, have met one, and her dialect was very similar to Halle's in the movie..

I am in no way shape or form against Storm or any other mutant(except Toad and Sugarman). Their accents show their history and where they came from when a backstory cannot be used or fit in. I can bet you that non comic fans will not know Storm has an African heritage(besides her skin color). If she had a thicker or more prevalent African dialect...then it would be more prevalent. But I am 100% happy with our Storm we have now.

I agree with you...I never knew the accent was that *bad* until I went on-line and read other people's reactions. I think TNC is right on too--a lot of people don't really know what a Kenyan accent sounds like. When they think of an African accent they automatically link it back to something they've seen in Roots--as if that is the only dialect in Africa. :rolleyes:

Exactly!!! I never thought about that til' now. People need stop complaining about how the characters are portrayed, because moives based on games, comics, books etc. aren't always going to be exactly like the things their based on. I was Singer's vision to have the characters like that, so just blaming it on the actor or actress makes no sense.:confused:

in my opinion...the cartoon storm from the 90s never sounded african anyway! she sounded british, but thats me. then the evolution storm didnt sound african either. then we just read what she says in the comics, truth be told, know one will ever know what storm truly sounded like if she was a real person

I love Storm's new look but you know, Halle looks great with long hair (she is currently sporting one). But what ruined her look in X1 was the bangs. She should've had wavy white hair, same length as X!. It would've looked just great. But that's just me!

thats my thing! halle berry when she is sporting long hair can look like storm anytime in real life. but in the movies x1/2 it wasnt so. that was just the makeup artist! but i thought halle was very spot on with the look in the mansion scene where she meets logan with cyc. and the cut scene with rouge! But "wrap party" is fairly straightforward: It is the bacchanal after production of a movie "wraps up," where the cast and crew let loose.

So it was with some astonishment that the Boldface Posse oohed and aahed at an invitation to a wrap party, on the A-list, no less.

It was for "Perfect Stranger," a film just wrapped in Manhattan and starring BRUCE WILLIS and HALLE BERRY. We accepted with dispatch.

The party was Sunday night at a Midtown restaurant, Uncle Jack's Steakhouse, which is decorated in vaguely Bordello and early Prohibition. The salient thing is that Uncle Jack's has chandeliers, presumably from which A-list stars can swing as they swig Cristal, in dishabille.

Revolution Studios, the producer, describes the film as a dark psychological thriller about "secrets, lies and Internet chatter."

What's more, Mr. Willis gave, midproduction, several playful interviews in which he used terms like "smitten" and "blinded" to describe Ms. Berry's perfection of form, to which she replied something along the lines of, "Oh, you card."

Might there be tension of a sexual nature at the wrap party, advances repulsed or accepted, whips borrowed from the "Catwoman" set?

Alas, the truth, as always, was more unsettling: The stars gave away door prizes. Ms. Berry and her co-star, GIOVANNI RIBISI, looking down from a second-floor railing, called out names for raffle prizes. A lawyer for Mr. Willis won a monster flat-screen set, HDTV-ready.

Ms. Berry and Mr. Ribisi then danced to "I Like to Move It," from the PG-rated animated film "Madagascar."

The smitten Mr. Willis was a no-show.

It made her more commanding though.

The problem was that Storm was a little too powerful. They had to push her out of a lot of the episodes because of that, and because of the fact she didn't fit in with the teen activities of the other students.

She still had a few chances to shine however. Her loyalty to Professor X as she went up against Apocalypse to try and save him was a nice touch.

Seasons 3 and 4 are the seasons where all the characters really come into their powers. In the final two-part episode there is some spectacular usage of powers.

I do as well... TAS in it's entirety is much better than evolution. I hated the fact that they focused on the kids instead of the missions... it was a little more grounded in that it dealt with their issues growing up, but I don't think anything will ever be like TAS.

The evolution is evident... and I am definately a fan of the new look over X2, however considering the game takes place in between films (X2 & Last Stand) I think they had to use her X2 look. Her hairstyle was not what prompted me to post the pic, it was her stance and the lightning/electricity surrounding her. She looks powerful... IMO.

Yeah I agree. It's possible to strike a balance between beauty and power and I think Halle could get that balance. In fact, as someone (Poseidon perhaps?) said, she often resembles Storm more out of costume than she does in the actual films. Flowing robes and threads should have been Storm's trademark garb in these films...something to suggest royalty:

To answer your question... in an earlier episode, Storm was the one who put him back on ice by creating cold storm around him. Apparently he was still bitter about it. That's why he wanted both of them. I hope this helps.

I would've preferred some gritting of the teeth myself. I mean, hello, you're pulling down walls of wind and forming twisters with them! LOL That's gotta take something out of you. And considering that she was using the powers defensively I would've liked to see some anger and more fierce concentration as she tried to eliminate those jets.

But it looks like we'll get a gritting-teeth Storm in X3 so it's all good. :up:

i'm inclined to agree with most of this.
except - i prefer Storm's having brown eyes instead of blue. don't know why. but i just like it better that way.

visual Storm has been pretty close to the comics in the series, except for her hair in X2, it's just been the writing for her character that has been...meh. she does have some stand out scenes though, but they're usually overshadowed by the characters overall "exposition spouter" schtick.

Halle is particularly fare skinned, so the white hair, combined with blue eyes would take away the ethnic look they have going. I just wish she hit the tanning beds or something before filming because Storm is supposed to be a nice dark brown, and Halle has never really looked that dark in any of the films. In X1, Halle had the perfect complection for Storm, she was brown skinned. Then in X2, I don't know if it was the lighting, but she looked really light-skinned in some scenes. But in X3, she looks more brown skinned again!!!:up:

Hell Yeah! Great scene... but for the movie, the fact that she was in the jet, flying it, I don't think she would have had enough time. But we're thinking along the same lines.

blue eyes would be cool. There's just no reason on why not putting them. Ok, contact lenses would probably make her eyes grey or dark green instead of blue, but at least they would be a differnt color...shows how much they cared about Storm in X1 :p CGI eyes would be too much cost for nothing though, and X1 had a pretty low budget to make CGI eyes all the time.

I think it would have been better if she asked the question... then looked up, the bolt comes down and she never gives the 'same thing' punchline at all.. as it's pretty obvious what happens...
