but then if they have to create a cgi Storm it would be harder. Thats why i think they chose the shorter version. Not that we're gonna see any CGI Storm, but the hairstyle might be designed in the beggining of the project, so they didnt know...

Im sooo glad they didn't go with the blue eyes, because it just makes Halle look white. Halle is particularly fare skinned, so the white hair, combined with blue eyes would take away the ethnic look they have going. I just wish she hit the tanning beds or something before filming because Storm is supposed to be a nice dark brown, and Halle has never really looked that dark in any of the films. It'd be perfect if she had the skin tone of the versace add. She'd look more like storm than ever before.


I don't think Halle is that fairskinned though.

She's not dark by any means, but she's not exactly the Albino we saw in X2 either--that's make-up and lighting that makes her look like that. If I saw her on the street I wouldn't think for one moment that she was biracial--she looks like a black woman: coloring, features and all. The Versace ads show her coloring the same way as it is seen in X1 and apparently X3...

I don't know. Maybe it's because several people are thinking she will die, or saying that they want her to die (instead of Cyclops, usually.. Cyclops fans are trying to shift the emphasis on to Halle yet again). I'm anxious about Halle's statement that said she didn't really want to come back, I'm anxious that Simon wouldn't comment on it (but then I guess he wouldn't comment on anyone's final fate)...

For another powerful female character to bite the dust in a heroic sacrifice would be too much like the end of X2. Storm is needed to be mother hen to those kids... the scene with Leech arriving and running to her at the mansion has the hint of being near the end, after the final battle, but we can't tell for sure...

I think the next X-movie will clear out several major characters - we have our suspicions about Xavier, Cyclops, Mystique and Jean dying, and they may have Wolverine go moping off again if he is to be in a solo spin-off (it was intended to be a prequel, but i've a feeling they will change that... his present-day discovery of the past is more dramatic than having the movie set in the past)... So I'm wondering where Storm would fit in, what direction they could take her in after the magnificence we seem to be seeing for X3. They are going so 'all out' with Storm in X3 that I am worried it's a 'swansong' for the character...

I'm just having a touch of anxiety about it all...

Just because Storm looks magnificent in X3 doesn't mean the end. This is evolution of Storm's character in the films. This when she becomes the character she finally is in the comics. It would make no sense for Storm to die or any of the other X-men for that matter!!

I don't think they are contacts. They look CGI to me, though not obviously so. All the original actors have their eyes done using CGI.
I think both Halle Berry and Rebecca Romijn complained about how painfull they were.I even think Rebecca's eye doctor told her she that the contacts could cause lasting damage to her eyes.

Wolverine in action in X2 was brutal, in my opinion.

It's all about execution. Eye-ripping can still happen, only if there is little gore.

I mean, hell, you might as well be dissenting the use of violence in X3, and we all know violence in society is a no-no. Yet here it is.

And you single out the eye-popping? Because it's a rare occurence, right, whereas, violence in PG-13 has, over and over?

We have to look at our own standards to see where priorities really lie at.

This is social conditioning at its worst. I'm speaking generally.

I think earlier in here some had a discussion over whether Storm used the hydrant or the bay to create the tidal wave. Well she would have to use the bay because nature cannot come through a hydrant. Hydrants don't wipe out island or coastal villages. Plus if it came out of the hydrant, it would seem she could manipulate water.

Lots of the characters in the X-World can fly. Angel isn't unique in that. Angel is unique, however, in having big ruddy wings on his back.
