in that scene ororo clearly runs over to logan because she is in need of his protection but quickly finds that logan isn't even taking the whole excercise seriously.

She was calling him because he was being reckless and stubborn during the dr sequence!!! Yeah, she's calling his name a lot but sounds like she was concerned for him that's all!!! Even Storm was in the past, she has never needed Logan to protect her!! She defeated Toad, made a gaunlet of tornados against fighter jets, not to mention save the world by HERSELF!! When she says, "Logan, we work as team!" She sounds like she comanding, yet reminding him what this sequence is all about!!! I don't know where your getting this verison of Storm because I don't see!!!:confused:

I hope that Halle actually says more this time around too. I mean the delivery of "do what you need to" line sounded pretty deep the split second I heard it. Its a total comeback from the first movie.

I haven't seen the other trailer "keeps my face pretty". Nor have I seen the one with Storm flying at Alcetrez, or whatever that is.

I just want more than the Jean-Logan show. I will get my money back in some way shape or form, if it is.

I hope Storm will give us something as big as this, but for some reason I'm not sure at all, in what we have seen of her in the air we have that sensation of wire work, or how she was levitating, not exactly flying, including the last spot. Although I think this moment looked very cool, she such up in the air, and the mutants very far from her.

i agree. I also get that "wire-work" feeling, sadly...
maybe im still not used to Storm's powers since shes not supposed to "fly" like superman, only be carried by winds...still would be nice to see her flying loosely though...

I wouldn't worry about it. Superman's flight is very distinctive, it's what people expect, those bursts of flying at superspeed in a horizontal direction.

I'm sure Simon Kinberg said Storm did fly horizontally. But even if she doesn't, the way she has been shown flying so far is very much in line with how someone would fly if they were hovering on wind currents. As for it being wirework, I think you are taking the fact that you know it's wirework and seeing that fact before the you see the result of it. Any superhero flying is done by wirework.

I don't think it's worth too much stress to be honest. It certainly has nothing to do with Superman being a big USA production because X3 is also a big USA production.

To focus on just one captured moment and develop so much worry from it is not a good idea! We fans tend to over-analyse and over-worry sometimes.

It's been fantastic enough to see Halle actually get off the ground and take to the air.

hey, we have seen Callisto attacking her in which seems to be a great scene. I hope she flies in many directions... ;)

Halle is so in shape and that's the key to wirework. Don't under estimate her. Don't forget she did her own whip stunts in Catwoman (not the best example but them whips can kick yo A**)

im not a phd on wires, but i dont mean its about Halle, its more about the wire's limits...it's almost impossible to translate the scene i had in mind, but well, a down-to-earth and actually real looking version of Neo vs Smith in Revolutions...

Well, in all fairness, Kinberg (and Penn) have gushed a lot more over the Phoenix than Storm anyway. From his standpoint Phoenix is more of a main character, but I have a feeling she will be even with--if not slightly behind--Storm (in terms of screentime).

This is due, not only because Storm is a greatly undiscovered character, but also because of sheer star power. I've always thought that Hugh and Halle would eventually take the lead of this franchise, and when Bryan left I became certain of it.

When we look at the promotional clips and photos, Storm is all over everything. So I think Simon may have said that Storm has a lesser role so that fanboys wouldn't have cows over the fact that she'd be more prominent in the Dark Phoenix saga. Such short-sighted fanboys don't realize that there is plenty enough room for both Storm and Phoenix to be leading characters, esp. since Jean is with the Brotherhood. Her absence naturally leaves Storm for the logical choice as the X-Men's leading woman.

I agree!!! All of Storm's lines have been much better than both films combined!!! "If your with then be with us!"...how was that a cheesy line?:confused: What about "Since when did we become a disease?" or "Logan, we work as a team!" Halle is delievering her lines with much more feeling and emotion behind them. If you want a cheesy line, try "Don't get your panties in a bunch!";)

I know right! It's amazing how she's actually getting lost in her character. I mean, she is still going to come across gentle and feminine in this film, but I can already tell we are going to witness a rage we haven't seen previously when she gets pissed off.

But it also shows how if a director and the writers have the VISION for Storm, it can be accomplished. Look at the scene in my avatar--that takes planning and design to create that aura for Storm.

I know right! It's amazing how she's actually getting lost in her character. I mean, she is still going to come across gentle and feminine in this film, but I can already tell we are going to witness a rage we haven't seen previously when she gets pissed off.

But it also shows how if a director and the writers have the VISION for Storm, it can be accomplished. Look at the scene in my avatar--that takes planning and design to create that aura for Storm.

let's look at the other x-men and what they have going on:

prof: manipulates jean / rival to magneto
jean: phoenix / relationship with prof, cyke, logan, magneto
logan: relationship to jean, rogue / center of the universe
rogue: boyfriend issues / love triangle / cure issues / relationship with logan
iceman: love triangle with rogue and kitty / rival to pyro
kitty: caught in the love triangle
beast: has to cope with wanting to work on peace, but being forced back to the x-men's side / tempted by cure since he looks like a beast
colussus: dunno yet, but he's new and probably just for coolness factor

so yeah, storm: teaches and works with people / doesnt like the cure. wow.

With all of the changes going on I think Storm will remain the one constant in that mansion: she will serve as the mediator and grounding force for her family. Like a protective lioness she's going to keep the entire homefront tied together as a unit and prevent outside pressures from tearing them apart.

She'll be the leader, Head Mistress, coordinator and mother figure--much more so than before because her fellow senior X-Men members (sans Beast) will all be out of the picture and Logan will be unwilling to commit to anything. So that only leaves Storm to be left behind to pick up the pieces.

Also, It looks like Storm will influence Logan a lot in this movie more than the others!!! "If your with us then be with us!" seems like where she finally confronts Logan over her frustration over the cure, the war and Logan's position with the X-men!!!:up:

i think the main word is leader. she will be one. In every aspect. thats enough. I think that even in the comics (okay, i dont read them so im in a blind field) but she doesnt have too many soap-opera dramas to deal. Storm was always the safe point to the others, the friend they could count on. The strong woman with a point of view. Even her love stories arent that big, or am i wrong? Its not like she has centered the universe around her many times, but she's always important. And thats what i think we'll see this time. She wont be the center, but she will be very important.

I agree!!! Storm is very imporatant to the X-men because she has always been mother figure to Pro. X's father figure, the one that kept the group calm and cool. She sacrifices a lot for the X-men, and I can't wait to see that in this film!!!

dont get me wrong, i'm completely hopeful that it will turn out that way. but i havent seen much proof, other than a few lines.

let's just say that i've been let down by the first two movies where they said storm would be the "earth mother" and heart of the films. having her say "the children!" a couple times does not an earth mother make.

so i'm skeptical of her role in this movie based on the setup of the first two. i have no doubt that simon and zack have tried their best, i just hope that the accomplish it instead of just implying it.
