Fact of the matter is if you're a male around that age, then your insurance is gonna be high. I've got State Farm. Yes it is a little higher than most, but every time I've needed them they've been great. They're quick and really reliable. If you're looking to save a few bucks call Geico?

Also, have you had any wrecks and what do you consider high?

Crap, that's what I meant. 1500. Yeah for a year, it isn't gonna happen. Is it a new vehicle you're driving? Are you looking for full coverage? I think somewhere inbetween 1200 and 1500 for six months is what you're gonna be looking at. Maybe more.

Well, I guess that really depends on how much the car is worth, but I would never go without full coverage. You'll understand if you ever get into a wreck.

Alright, tell me what year, make, and model the car is exactly. I'll search around and see what comes up on the calculators.

Damn man. I can't even find anything out because you don't have any prior history. You're probably gonna have to go in and talk to an agent. Your parents couldn't add you to their insurance or anything like that? Is the car in your name?

hmm...well I always stuck with State Farm because that's what my dad is under...I got a student discount too, b/c I took some mini car test and had good grades at school

You likely have no assets for anybody to sue you for, so you're safe.

Those good student discounts really do help. But I think the stress of keeping those grades is making me start to lose hair.

I'm a 16 year old, driving a 1996 Honda Odyssey with State Farm. I'm covered by nothing except what's required by law, and it was $1015 or thereabouts (before my wreck).
EDIT: $1015 every six months:cool:

i recently checked out some quotes at http://www.oneshopinsurance.com (http://www.oneshopinsurance.com/) they have a couple of known companies here. I also checked out some premiums. actually there are things that we all have to consider. Age is a major consideration. The type and model of the vehicle has a major role also. When buying car/auto insurance online, there are sites that provide automated tools. They’re using an auto coverage analyzer where you have to answer a few question about your financial standing, automobile condition, etc. From this information it will generate what category of coverage we need.
