It looks like their penis is about to explode out of their pants.

Maybe take the stretch marks off the crotch.

But thats just me.

WOW...

My only suggestion would be easing up on the watermarks because they distract from the art. Other than that it's really good stuff.

Cobblepot

Very good stuff, esp that Green lantern.
I like those bullets flying around Bat's also.
Yes and ease up on the watermark.

Klxnt
05-06-2005, 08:41 PM
For real, look at the Wolverine pic, his face is like "I dear to NOT look at my penis!"

And then it explodes.

But regardless of anyones penis, the art is kick ass.

Klxnt
05-06-2005, 08:43 PM
And whats up with whoring your name all over the art?

if anything is distracting, its that... and.... well.... you know.

I'm lost in what "Dark Flash" may be. I'm incredibly curious, because that mix of batman and the flash(at least thats what it looks like to me) looks really sweet.

Its like batman and flash had sex, and out popped those two.

brad
05-07-2005, 05:16 PM
The reason i put my name all over my work I have had too many ripped off, and have been posted on other sites as other people. The Dark Flash is Bruce Wayne geting the powers of the Flash and in the pic below is Kal-el as Green Lantern (all Kryptionans are Green Lanterns).

I understand what you mean but anytime you post your artwork on a public forum you take that chance. Nowadays it's not that hard to remove a watermark from a picture....especially the Batman one. I would just ease up on it and hope no one steals your pictures.

I agree with the others your blue beetle to me is by far the coolest one. I think BB could be cool again he just needs an update costume and story and a focus that he lacks. I love BB back in the day! Just like Moonknight there is soooo much potential there that is not being utilized. I would love to se your version of Moonknight with an updated look like BB if you need reference picks or history let me know.

Freaking love that design man  i mean really cool:up:

I always thought after the FF costumes they would do it like that but i'm great with this design too. As far as not needing padding what if sinestro comes to beat him with a yellow wiffle bat he needs protection ;)

brad

My thinking to armor look is that if the rings out of power, and I am trying to give him a police officer look.

0neDisturbedSOB
08-05-2005, 04:53 PM
Interesting. In my redesign of the character the ring powered his uniform (not a costume in his sense). It wasn't just something he hung in his closet and put on whenever he needed it. I always thought it was silly to picture a GL getting suited up, THEN slipping on the ring and having these bad ass powers. It works for characters Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Flash...etc because they all have cool ways of doing it, but for me the GL's uniform comes straight from his ring's power. I also thought it added a cool sense of danger....what happens if the ring runs out of 'juice'?

I also noted that GL wears a UNIFORM and not a COSTUME. A costume is something you wear to hide your identity from others, whereas a UNIFORM is something you wear when you're on duty.

Just my 2 cents.

You're coloring work is just so slick and pro looking...really just great. I checked out your link and can't get over how cool that pic of the Question is. That's a character I always wanted to take a stab at and now I can't...'cause that's about as cool a pic as I've ever seen!! I'm gonna' hafta' print it out so I can pin it on the wall. The anatomy is a little screwy. In some places it looks like you have add muscles for the sake of adding muscles. The right leg doesn't seem to match the left leg in its structure- its like they are from two different people. Try practicing drawing the same item from diffent views. And feet. Practice drawing feet :)

I think this looks very good:up: If i had somehting besides paint i'm inspired enough to try and color it. But based on that superboy i have a critique. Now you know i love your work right brad i mean i've complimented you drawings countless times but when you draw faces it looks i dunno sub par. Not for others but for you. When you draw a character like bettle or question or this guy^ with no face FREAKING AWESOM, but when you draw superboy or that oh so awesome green lanter the head throws it off. To put it plainly your faces are not nearly as good as everything else you do to me IMHO. Just trying to help.

Your wolverine is great

I'm not really digging superman though. It looks like there is a window where his cape is that has made his shoulder and back muscles invisible. There should be something in view. His arm on the left looks pretty awkward- almost as though its not even really attached to his shoulder (does he have an elbow?)..

I also noticed that there really isn't any constant lighting source- its sorta coming from everywhere. You should decide early on where you want your light to come from because it will make the image better in the long run. :)

hmmmm... (most of this is directed towards your colourist) The lighting is a little inconsistant. Im guessing the main light is meant to be the flame on the right (which i'm not sure is the best idea) but the flaming skull (?!) and the flashlight don't seem to be casting much light at all (apart from on the skull- but even that seems a little dodgy). The two figures in the background are backlit- which would imply a strong light behind everyone- but that isn't apparent on the shading of seamus and his lady friend.

I would also tell your colourist that it isn't the best idea to start the shading from the edge of the character because it makes it look a bit too flat ie:http://203.97.5.87/staff/joel/shading.jpg

Maybe not that much- but hopefully you get the idea :)

I'm not a big fan of the design of the title- I see what you are trying to do- but that large white oval isn't adding much.

I do like the design of the character and I look forward to seeing how his adventure unfold.

I think they all look great, good job man. I hope I am wrong here, but I believe the colorists last name is spelled Hasnain and not Hasnin. I remember him posting on the boards as DJ Blaster and I went back and looked and that's how he had his name spelled. Hopefully this is the grammar error you were talking about, if not I hope he doesn't get too mad about having his name mispelled in a comic =p.

One thing I have to say is none of them look that excited about standing there. Apart from Bigfoot, they all have the same unamused look on their faces.
Its like they are posing for their 100th publicity shot today and all they want to do is head back to their trailer and snort coke off the backs of strippers.

we have about 3 projects going right now I am also in the process of getting all the promotinal material ready like posters and banners, and such. Being he writer for the monthly book is hard work. I want about 4 months worth of story for the monthly book, if this preview does good. Also editing a book is time consuming and the previw is 6 pages however the book will be about 12 with interviews and who we are and where the Idea came from and when.

Cool animated gif. If I were to nitpick I would change 2 things. The first being "Comming" only has one m =p. The other would be right after the first frame or so of the image, as it starts to zoom out you kind of shift the image over to one side and that makes it look shaky as it moves out. Other then that nice job!
