http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/ghostrider/international/
31st of August 2006 for Australia? Geez!!!!!!
I'm rapt it's even getting released here, but that's a huge wait to see it! I'll be well and truely 26 by then.
Dang.

That's my birthday...
well then, happy birthday for 2006 Flamehead!
FF comes out 22 days before my birthday, so it's an early birthday present for me. :)
have to say though, i'm literally hanging off the edge of my seat for some GR promos. bring it on MSJ! :ghost:

I've had another thought since my little rant about the UK date.
Way back when a GR movie was just a dream, I always hoped that if it was ever made they'd give it a Halloween release date, just to fit the spookiness of the character. We tend to get movies a couple of months after the US, so maybe it'll happen.
OooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOO.

Wow...August 4th for the US?? Aren't they gonna be done filming in a month or two?
FlameHead
06-12-2005, 02:04 PM
Yup... but the more time they spend on the FX, the better. We don't want that part of the film process rushed.

Thanks for the early B-Day wishes... though I don't want to rush things. I'll be turning 28 then and I'm cracked up enough about turning 27.

Yes I know. I want to see this film as quickly as possible....yes. I want them to have a good amount of time for post production. But basically a whole year? That just seems like a little too much to me.

im fine w/ the year on post production....ive waited more than 20 years to see this movie i can wait one more :)
besides i want to see the best possible GR on screen....if it takes a whole year to accomplish that then so be it.
oh and have a good B-Day FH...dont get too drunk...heh :D

Yeah I am just saying it better live up to its expectations if they are making us wait that long...haha.

Very true. A whole year of expectations is a lot to live up too.

Sheesh, a whole 4 (or 16 depending on which B-day we're talkin' about) months away and I'm already getting best wishes.
Ahhh... I don't want to turn 27. So many artists kill themselves at the age of 27... and I haven't even made a huge splash in my career yet. Ahhhhhhh....
You and me both Flamehead! Although I have had my worked looked at by both Scott McDaniel and Phil Hester, that was pretty cool. :)

May sounded soo much better.
Red, tell me about it!
I re-watched X-Men last night, and noticed the special effects weren't as good as I'd remembered. They'll really be pushing the third installment through if they're going to start filming in August. whew!
I still like the idea of X-Men 3 and Ghost Rider switching release dates... Marvel? Fox? MSJ? Anyone? lol. :)

Allright , not a whole lot of months apart from the US date.
btw , when exactly are they finishing up with the shoot ?
Retroman
06-13-2005, 01:08 PM
June 9, 2005 according to Film Victoria. http://www.film.vic.gov.au/news/shooting.shtml
Gives them enough time to additional shooting, add visual effects and do reshoots etc.
FlameHead

Plenty of time indeed... and they're going to need it with all the FX shots that's needed. I wouldn't doubt that half of this movie is CG.

Why does the UK version of the ghost rider site say the release date is Sept. 11th? When they updated the US site, shouldn't they have updated the UK also or is that the actual release date for the UK. If so, I will have to get a plane ticket now.

I noticed this as well, both empire and total film list this as a september movie.

Was that the date that was posted before the release date changed? The date is just so far from ours. It's so far from the original date before they changed it also.
Mr Nick
01-10-2006, 12:38 PM
I refuse to believe there'll be a gap of seven months between it coming out in the US and in the UK. Hellboy took a ridiculous five or six months, but that'd be taking the p1ss.
If they plan on using it to hype up Spidey 3, it'll have to be released a good few weeks before May. I reckon it'll be out between Feb and April.

The Australia site says Aug 11 2006

I guess they just haven't updated the other ones yet
AVEITWITHJAMON

No you are all misunderstanding, they are listing the U.K release date as Sept 2006! not 2007, so we would be getting GR earlier than the U.S, but i think they have just been slow to change the date's thats all.

Wow. This thread's sillier than all the posts mentioning a budget of $51 million! :D

And that page hasn't been updated since September 2005. :p :D

I figured if they updated one site they would have updated all of them
WarBlade

Nah, "they" might at best email some other "they" who in turn forwards to the "they" responsible for updating whatever site in another country that you might be looking at.
Or not.
Sony's a big company. Some things might take time to communicate around it and website updates are situations which may well be contracted out to small external companies all over the world. Then there's Christmas and New Year breaks to add some more confusion into the mix.

Yeah, well I've delt with website update issues from time to time from both a professional and amateur prespective and on both sides of the coin from being directly involved with updates to wanting webmasters to update. Small seemingly-unimportant adjustments to large projects can occasionally take time.

You live in The Netherlands as seen in your info under your avvy. Don't know how deep, but if close with the border with Belgium, then come to Belgium!!!
Not sure, but Metropolis (Kinepolis) Antwerp is close with the border between Belgium and The Netherlands!
One thing i don't understand is also why the time between our countries is so big? We live next to each other!! Belgium and The Netherlands are neighbours, so why can't Sony release movies on the same time?
Well, i saw the movie yesterday evening in Kinepolis Bruges and wow! What a movie!! Want to see it again, and again and again! Think maybe once more in theater and then waiting for DVD...

Thats the thing i don't live in Brabant or Limburg so i have to rely on the train to go there and if i add up the costs (train tickets plus movie ticket) i don't think it's worth all that money.
