Confirmation that we'll get a presentation at this year's comic-con!

From THE ORLAND SENTINEL:

Superheroes deserve a superconvention, and they get it

By Jay Boyar | Sentinel Travel Editor
Posted June 12, 2005

Editor's note: Impulse Travel is an occasional feature about destinations for spur-of-the-moment travelers.

The mysterious contents of Batman's utility belt.

The persuasive properties of Wonder Woman's magic lasso.

The interpersonal dynamics that drive the Fantastic Four.

These and other vital artistic, mystic and super-humanistic issues will, in all likelihood, be discussed, debated, parsed and deconstructed by the participants at Comic Con International.

This annual San Diego event, billed as the largest such gathering in the United States, if not the world, is set for July 14 through 17 at the city's convention center.

About 87,000 attended last year, with upward of 90,000 expected next month, of which only about 1,200 will be pros. The rest will be fans -- locals and, especially, tourists.

But not necessarily comic-book fanatics. Fans of movies, role-playing games, science fiction and, well, you name it, all show up at Comic Con.

Yes, the lineup of featured guests includes such comic-book greats as artists Gene Colan (who has drawn Daredevil, Batman, Captain America and Iron Man) and Jim Lee (The X-Men, Superman, The Fantastic Four), and writer Marv Wolfman ("Teen Titans," Blade and "Tomb of Dracula").

And, yes, there will be lectures, workshops and panel discussions on such topics as "Super-villains in Pop Culture," "The Superhero Defined" and, no kidding, "Sin, Transgression and Redemption in Comics."

But if comic books are a major presence at Comic Con, they are only a part of it.

"To me, it's multiple conventions under one umbrella," reflects Jackie Estrada, who serves on the event's guest committee. "It has such extensive coverage and representation by all these different pop-culture areas, that you can come and be immersed in your interest for the whole four days and never even look at anything else if you don't want to."

The Origin of Comic Con

Comic Con started in 1970 when 300 fans (mostly comic-book fans) gathered in a San Diego hotel, presumably to share their deepest personal feelings about utility belts, magic lassos, super-group dynamics and the like. The event grew rapidly in both numbers and scope. This year's edition will include programs about film, television, animation, literature and graphic novels. Among the featured guests will be filmmaker Kevin Smith (Chasing Amy, Jersey Girl), sci-fi author Ray Bradbury (Fahrenheit 451), special-effects legend Ray Harryhausen (Jason and the Argonauts) and animator J.J. Sedelmaier, whose edgy oeuvre includes such Saturday Night Live favorites as "The Ambiguously Gay Duo," "The X-Presidents" and "Fun With Real Audio."

"Animation is a very user-friendly tool," says Sedelmaier, striking a theme he may expand on at Comic Con. "Sometimes it allows you to say things you couldn't say any other way without it being uncomfortable."

This convention also has become a prime location for film studios to get people talking about their latest sci-fi, fantasy and comic-book-inspired movies.

"In 1976, Lucas Film came to our event and had a small booth on our floor and had a presentation on a new movie they were doing, which, of course, was Star Wars, a full year before it came out," notes Comic Con spokesman David Glanzer. "They tapped into this fan base that . . . started a little groundswell of interest in this motion picture."

Buzz central

Last year, Glanzer adds, Lucas Film announced the title of Episode III, Revenge of the Sith, at Comic Con. The recent Batman Begins as well as the upcoming Fantastic Four film also have been represented there, as have The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Jude Law showed up to promote Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Ben Affleck for Daredevil, Halle Berry for Gothika and Angelina Jolie for a Lara Croft flick.

Estrada says this year the studios will have presentations featuring Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, Superman Returns, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Ghost Rider and The Legend of Zorro. Mike Vollman, a marketing executive for DreamWorks, says his studio hopes to feel the fan pulse on its upcoming The Island, with Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson, and the "Transformers" movie, a live-action film based on the popular toys.

"There are three or four events during the year that are really places where you get a big cross-section of what's going on in popular culture," explains Vollman, who lists the MTV Movie Awards and Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards as others. "Comic Con really does say to you who is important, who is going to be hot in the next year."

What the Sundance and Toronto film festivals are to such small, independent gems as Sideways, Kinsey and Hotel Rwanda, Comic Con has become to glitzy pop-culture flicks. In fact, movie studios have come to depend on fan reaction at the convention to guide some of their decisions.

"Comic Con is the pinnacle," says Vollman. "It's where buzz is born."

The 'Spirit' of Comic Con

Still, there will be plenty at Comic Con to keep the die-hard comic-book fanatic engaged.

Among the event's 7,900 exhibitors, many will sell vintage and new comics, as well as comic-related toys and games. In addition, aspiring comic-book artists can attend life-drawing classes and have pros evaluate their portfolios.

Comic Con also is where the comic-book industry's prestigious Eisner Awards are presented.

The awards are named for Will Eisner, the brilliant and phenomenally influential creator of The Spirit, a superhero with a mask but no super powers. There will be daily programs about Eisner, who died Jan. 3, as well as a tribute to him at the awards ceremony to keep, so to speak, the "Spirit" alive.

" 'The Spirit' was a very influential comic," says Estrada, who coordinates the awards. "Even though a lot of the general public never heard of it, it influenced a lot of artists. It showed them how dynamic and interesting you could make the simplest story."

An especially flashy feature of Comic Con will be the traditional Masquerade, a costume contest with such categories as best workmanship, best group effort and most humorous.

"People take a great deal of time and effort to build really pretty beautiful and extraordinary costumes," Glanzer points out. And it's easy to guess why they work so hard on them.

Comic Con doesn't claim to confer super powers on comic-book aficionados. But attending the San Diego event is as close as most fans will ever come to having them.

Hot damn! I got a chill down my spine from reading that, so thank's for posting it!
I'm thinking we should have a poster, or a teaser trailer for GR by then (July 14), which quite honestly, blows my mind whenever I think about it.
Oh baby!

Awesome news indeeed! It's really too bad that I'll never get to see one of those huge comic-con things.

This is the year for Ghost Rider and I suspect you'll see his boney face all over the place.

Thanks Retroman. You may have cake and ice cream.

So, it looks like we'll see the first footage in July. Oh yeah!

I guess a proper teaser's too much to ask for, but maybe there'll be a teaser for the teaser. A big, menacing picture of Ghost Rider would kick major ass too.
:D

Avi Arad gave Coutingdown.com another update on the Comic-Con and Ghost Rider:

CD: Could you talk a bit about what you guys have planned for the San Diego Comicon this year?

Arad: We're gonna give you your first glance into Ghost Rider!

CD: You've been shooting that in Australia with Mark Steven Johnson and Nick Cage for a while now. How's that footage looking so far?

Arad: It's very special. It's Marvel mixed with The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. It has it's own tone, it's a Western, it's pretty awesome. And Nick Cage, as you've seen in the pictures, never looked better. It was a project waiting to happen for a long time, and it finally happened, and Mark did a great job, and we're excited. That's why we're showing [footage] at Comicon. We just wrapped, and if we didn't' feel comfortable, we wouldn't have shown anything.

Heres another new bit on todays DVD Producers presentation reported by Coming Soon! The movie is 13/14 months away yet they're already working on a dvd which (i guess) will be out New Year 2007:

There was brief discussion of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe DVD, the King Kong DVD, and others. They indicated the DVDs were in the works at the moment for Seinfeld, Ghost Rider, Underworld: Evolution, a Cary Grant boxed set, "James Bond," Kingdom of Heaven, Superman Returns, Domino, XXX: State of the Union, Stealth, and more. They mentioned An Evening with Kevin Smith 2 is being worked on (shot in London and Toronto), the "Mallrats 10th Anniversary DVD," and a "Blue Thunder Special Edition". It was also hinted that an X-Men 2.5 DVD might be in the works before the upcoming X-Men 3 film release.

Yikes!Teaser reports from SHH home!
http://www.superherohype.com/news/featuresnews.php?id=3304

"It starts out showing Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze preparing to jump a line of trucks on a motorcycle at a football field. Intercut with it are scenes of Mendes interviewing Blaze before the stunt for TV. Then, of course, things turn dark. We see various shots of Peter Fonda as Mephisto, Wes Bentley as Black Heart, and a variety of other bad guys with sharp teeth. Sam Elliot is also shown mentoring Johnny Blaze. In one amusing scene, Elliot asks Blaze if he's alright. Blaze responds, "I'm fine but I feel like my skull's on fire." That line got laughs from the audience. Other memorable scenes include a shot of Johnny stumbling along as fire seems form on his feet. The teaser concludes with a shot of a motorcycle cop clocking with a radar gun at the Texas state line. As Ghost Rider approaches, the radar clocks him at 999 mph, then the cop is blown away as the Spirit of Vengeance passes. Ghost Rider himself was never really shown and a brief glimpse given amid a bunch of quick shots was just test footage used for this temporary teaser.

Johnson followed the teaser with a Q&A with Mendes and Arad. He mentioned that they wrapped shooting a few weeks ago. Talking about the Ghost Rider's abilities, he said he will fight with a chain, a hellfire gun, his Penance Stare, and more. He also mentioned that Ghost Rider's flames change with his emotions. When he's enraged, it blazes white hot like a "mane" on him. When he's sad, it is toned down and turns blue. The fire certainly sounds like it reflects the character. As the talk progressed, a young fan asked where they got their cool Ghost Rider hats. Mendes responded by giving the kid her own hat. (Johnson then joked that the rest of the fans would be admiring the rest of her wardrobe hoping to get her to take it off and give it to them.)

Johnson mentioned that Black Heart is the main villain and he's a rebel angel that was thrown out of heaven along with the Devil. For this story, the lore is that rebel angels fell all over the earth when cast out of heaven, now they are 'elemental demons'. It is Ghost Rider, as the bounty hunter for the Devil, who rounds up these rogue demons. Another young fan admired Eva Mendes and asked about her character's name. Mendes said she nicknamed the character 'Roxy' to which the kid responded that Roxy was 'foxy'. Mendes laughed and told him to come back in 10 years. Johnson, when asked what Ghost Rider's wheels would be like, responded that they would be solid wheels covered in fire rather than pure flames like in the comic. The solid wheels gave the bike more weight while the purely flame wheels made it look like the bike was floating."

The cop's radar gun gag s really a great GRII style dark humour! And the Caretaker gag too!
And here we got the first infos on BH...fallen angel look? It could work, indeed...i can see Wes as a fallen angel, and aren't spikes similar to feathers burned/darkened? Very interesting take...

I dunno, Mephisto seems to be regarded with great respect, after all he is the Devil of Marvel universe...probably we can espect more alterations on BH... but this part "Johnson mentioned that Black Heart is the main villain and he's a rebel angel that was thrown out of heaven along with the Devil. For this story, the lore is that rebel angels fell all over the earth when cast out of heaven, now they are 'elemental demons'." really intrigues me...
BH in the comics had always that revenge(against Meph)/destiny/sadness(because he's always been a puppet of his father) characterization i think could be switched well to God in this way in the movie..

they did have footage it seems! but damn...its only exclusive to the con
maybe somone was able to sneak a video camera in there...heh

i dig the idea that Blackheart and the other demons were once angels that were banished to Earth (as what demons should be)....would have liked to have seen Fonda and Bentley in character though. no shots of GR naturally...but at least we know he can travel to up at least 999mph! :D

there must be more to it than that....i cant believe that Arad wouldnt push the project like he has w/ other Marvel films. i guess we will find out soon in a few days...

I'm with you on likeing the fallen angels thing. That's such a fantasitic idea and will work very well on screen. Nice touch. I do hope to hear more about how the baddies are gonna look though.

The problem with movies is they need to really tie things in.. the radar gun should have clocked the MPH at 666 being the nature of the ghost rider...
Do I have to edit everything? :)

There is one thing i still don´t get and it just sounds weird to me.

In order to save his dying father, young stunt cyclist Johnny Blaze sells his soul to Mephistopheles and sadly parts from the pure-hearted Roxanne Simpson, the love of his life. Years later, Johnny's path crosses again with Roxanne, now a gogetting reporter, and also with Mephistopheles, who offers to release Johnny's soul if Johnny becomes the fabled, fiery Ghost Rider, a supernatural agent of vengeance and justice.
Mephisto is demon, that means he is evil; but he makes a deal with Johnny Blaze for him to be the Ghost Rider, a supernatural agent of vengeance and justice?
JUSTICE?????
Mephisto is about Chaos, not justice.
To say that Mephisto "made" an agent for justice, is the same as to say an angel made an agent for torment.

But i do like "the fabled Ghost Rider" angle, because i would make exactly the same thing, to make GR to be fabled, in the likes of Jack Palance´s "Believe it or not".

Well this theme was developed quite a lot in the GRII series...and the relativistic concept of innocent blood too....
First of all, mephisto is not to be trusted:)
And maybe he cannot claim Blaze soul, not totally, because of his good purpose(in the pact he made). There is were this contraddiction come out. He need JB to sin to have his soul. Mephisto in comics is all about theese kind of tricks and choices he present to the heroes.
It's the classic Faust all along, but i'ts more convoluted than it seems.
By going phylosophic (blearrgh) i could say that by making JB a demon, he tries to have him acting like a demon; by giving him devilish powers and a violent mission, he hope/thinks they will take Blaze to commit evil.

Hey guys. I just got back from Comic Con and I SAW the footage AND the teaser poster if you have any questions.

Avi Arad, Mark Steven Johnson, and Eva Mendes were all there. No Nicholas Cage. Johnson said the teaser poster is pretty close to what he will look like in the final movie.

Now the bad news, the footage was NOT very good. It looks like they got the tone of the movie totally wrong. It looked very CHEESY :( .

Give me a break post production just freaking started. The sound won't sound right, the video won't look right, the F/X are missing, and the film hasn't been edited yet. LMFAO It wasn't meant to be used as a trailer for audiences to get excited over. Just a glimpse.

Vile, was there any footage of the flames moving? I'm interested in particular in the wheels... Actually it seems GR appears maybe only a fraction of second in the teaser(the radar gun scene): how were the lightning of that scene?Did the environment had, like, some color filters(to make the flames stand out more, like...al grey/blue/black)?
How were the performances of Sam Elliot and Nick(and the policeman, and every actor)?
Thanks!

You don't really see Ghost Rider in his full glory. Not even in the radar gun clip. All you see are very quick, almost subliminal flashes of the skull, which were just test shots of a crew worker in the costume according to Mark Steven Johnson.

Don't really get to see a good shot or look of the wheels, but according to Johnson they will be covered in flames with the shadows of wheels in them. He said there were issues about making them look like they had weight and not light and fluffy.

The lighting. For what I was hoping would be a dark, atmospheric movie, it looks pretty bright, kind of like John Carpenter's more recent . . . material. I think it just comes out of moving the movie out of New York to West Texas, which I think was a bad idea. Just like moving Punisher from New York to bright, sunny Florida.

I just didn't get the sense that Ghost Rider was a creature of the night.

Performances. I got to be honest, I wasn't too impressed with Nicholas Cage. It was just . . . Nicholas Cage you know. I've seen him do much better. He had quite a few cheesy one-liners in the footage, "I'm good, my head feels like its on fire, but I'm good," (paraphrasing). Cage kind of seemed like he was coasting.

Sam Elliott looks pretty good, I got vibes from his performance in Big Lebowski.

Eva Mendes, obligatory love interest. According to her, they made her more "badass" than she is in the comics where she was more of a "victim". I guess that's ok. I don't know too much about the Ghost Rider comics, but in the movie Mendes' character is a reporter.

Peter Fonda seemed ok from what we saw. He's essentially the Devil, so I hope he's really creepy and evil, intimidating.

Not sold on Wes Bentley as Blackheart either, it looked like he was trying to do Deacon Frost from the original Blade, but . . . not as good. I'm hoping we do see Blackheart in his full demon glory at some point in the movie though.

Hummm, i just noticed one thing.... you know, the new teaser poster.... do you see the blue sky in the down right background section? That blue just reminded me so much of Texeira/Saltares age...and that was a very dark one, with the great contrasts Yellow on black/blue that every GR2 fan grew up loving.
So, probebly there are as you said brightly illuminated parts of the movie, probably the daylight ones, maybe with western look, as MSJ said, but that blue reassures me that night scenes will be processed well.
And the night filming shots we saw months ago did show not so bright illuminations...and there were some documented night city shooting, so i think some of your fears are unmotivated.

According to Johnson that was just test footage of a crew guy anyway. We did see Cage in what looks to be his Ghost Rider outfit holding a shotgun (think Ghost Rider just with Cage's head). So then why do you contribute by linking things like this?

In a year from now, some of the critics for the site could be tearing apart the movie like Fantastic Four and Punisher.

Finally read that interview. I'm not sure what took me so long to get to it. Not a whole lot there but it sure is refreshing to read how into this character Mark is. I never knew that he first approached Avi for GR and not DareDevil. It's cool to know that he's had it in his mind ever since then.

We like to get all information about Ghost Rider here. Whether we agree with certain comments doesn't really matter, we just want the collection of information.

Thanks for the post Invictus.

very cool....sounds like there was some info in there that wasnt reported before.
also nice to have a confirmation that the demon inside Johnny is indeed Zarathos. if they keep to how the demon evolves as in the original 70s series things are gonna get really interesting in later sequels (if any).

I was very surprised to hear him talk about Zarathos actually. I didn't expect them to make any reference to the name of the demon inside... which they probably still wont.

You're right on there being some new stuff there though. I think I'll take the time to put the info in the respected threads again...

so far there hasnt been any announcements for Sony to have anything there:( ...but who knows? maybe there will be something announced at the last minute?
they have to have at least SOMETHING there....some stuff for Spider Man 3 will have to be there as well.
would be a sad sign if there was absolutely nothing GR related at what is to be considered the biggest comic convention of the year. what they had last year was very cool but this is the con before the movie opens...would be a huge waste to not take advantage of it.

we can hope...
it will be very telling to see how (or if) they advertise at the con. Spidey will have a huge spot no doubt..but what about GR? will they treat it like a event film? or will they treat it like a bastard stepchild w/ hardly anything to show?
if Sony is really proud of this film as its been said by MSJ they will no doubt show it off as much as possible.
and like you said Retro...this will be a good chance to show everyone a short clip of finished cgi for GR....at least the flaming skull. there is still alot of complaints about the cgi in the online trailer...this would be a great time for Sony to address that.

I can't see there possibly be a way that they'd leave GR out of the comic con. It just wouldn't make sense to me. This is Marvels next film and the one they should be promoting most. Let alone the fact that Ghost Rider has an ongoing happening and several mini's in the works. Ghost Rider should be everywhere if they want to bring the property back to the limelight.

I'm sure we'll get something soon. We better.... and there better be somebody here going to check it out damnit!

You always show up with the greatest news Retro. Thanks for posting this!

It's awesome that the Sony has both Spidey and Ghost Rider there this year because all those Spidey freaks will then be exposed to GR. It's fantastic to have these two flicks/properties together within the same studio. Seeing them side by side at the Con will hopefully fuel talks of making them appear together on screen. I mean, if Sony was really smart, they'd add a little cameo of the spider-bugger in the GR movie, just to add hype to the Spidey flick and also make as all cream out pants in the meantime.

Cage showin' up eh? Shows he actually does care though, I never expected him not too. Great stuff. Great, Great, Great!

Most of the questions in that thread have been collected and posted into a single thread for easy viewing. If we are going to give it to MSJ (though, I'm still hoping he'll pop in and answer directly to us at some point) we indeed have to make a shorter list with the best questions.

I suggest we have no questions dealing with DareDevil as I'd prefere to keep focus on Ghost Rider and some specifics about the movie. Anything else to leave out?

"Fonda tells Cage to find him 'one with a black heart' and he would return his soul.

"I won't do it," says Cage.

"You don’t have a choice," replies Fonda.

Fonda taps his crystal skull-topped cane on the asphalt and Cage's hands become glued to the handlebars of his motorcycle. He tries to pull away, but cannot. The bike starts to rev up and eventually peels out and takes off at a super-high speed. As Cage flies down the street, as the vehicles and businesses he passes catch fire and glass is shattered. The high-speed transformation takes Cage past an unsuspecting policeman who has set up a speed trap. His radar gun fixes on cage and zips up past 190 miles per hour. The bike goes flaming past him and he is blown back several feet and the billboard he was staked out behind bursts into flames.

The scene with Cage and Mendes begins with Mendes looking for an explanation as to why she was stood up for a dinner date the previous evening. Cage struggles with the right words to explain himself. She assures him that she has heard and seen it all and that nothing will surprise her. So, reluctantly, Cage says, "I sold my soul to the devil." He explains the entire situation to her, including his transformation into 'a monster' and she replies with making a claw gesture... "So tonight, you'll 'arrrrgh'". He replies – "I believe so."

The scene cuts to a full metamorphosis scene with Cage becoming Ghost Rider. He screams in pain and calls for his maker as his skin begins to smoke and bubble. Soon his skin burns away and his bare skull ignites. He is shown facing down a group of supernatural bad guys. At one point, he is blown back into a hanging chain that forms a noose around his neck, and is later seemingly crushed by a semi-truck... but nothing stops the Ghost Rider."

WOW.... I just got home and I attended the Ghost Rider/Spider-Man 3 panel. I must say, it was the highlight of my day.

Ghost Rider looks so damn good. At first I was a little iffy about this movie. Not anymore. The footage they showed was awesome. It was in a form of a trailer, but I don't know if it is the next trailer.

They showed Johnny Blazes' full transformation into the Ghost Rider, awesome stuff. MSJ said the reason the film has been pushed back to February was because he wanted to get the whole flame skull effect right and that they had to create a program just for that.

Nicolas Cage seemed so excited about doing Ghost Rider, it's something he's been wanting to do for a long time. Ghost Rider taught him how to read. Eva Mendes is very funny. I had a great time. I hope the footage comes out for you guys to see.

I'll some pics up from the panel soon.

Took a bit longer then I expected, but that's alright!

Summaries of what was said by each person, and the main points discussed during the audio interview which SHH posted. This interview was part of a roundtable discussion that took place before the panel. Spider-Man 3 followed, which is posted on FirstShowing, where Tobey responds to Nic's comments about how Ghost Rider can kick Spidey's booTAY! (which he totally could)

MM, you are a king amoung mice. Good work!

Well.. I guess it's better then.... ants?

That picture is a TOY!

It's not even the shot from the trailer... haha, though still cool.

WELL it's not a shot from the trailer, but it reminds of the part where he rides threw the water.

Actually it was a poster leaning up against the bike that I zoomed in on. Not bad huh? It looks 3d. I can show you the bigger pic of the bike and you'll see this little poster next to it.

Ghost Rider won't own Spider-Man at the box office but it'll be a fun film. It will own anything else that opens near it.

from the looks of it...you obviously think sm3 is better than GR.

what did the footage say?

TheVileOne
07-23-2006, 02:45 AM
Ok well the footage showed quite a bit of the villains.

Blackheart. Well he looks like Wes Bentley except he turns black and shadowy, weard looking mouth.

Ghost Rider's voice sounds really cool, like from the animated shows when he appeared on F4 and The Hulk.

The Ghost Rider stuff looks good. Nice and dark.

The comedy is still bad. Johnson can't play comedy.

You see Johnny Blaze's first transformation into Ghost Rider in length. He slowly starts to burn and the flesh melts off him into the flaming bones.

Police with their guns at Ghost Rider as he's reaching out to Eva Mendes as she says, "Johnny" with realization.

Cage in the Ghost Rider fatigues sans flaming head pointing his shotgun and shooting it at a more demonic Peter Fonda with Roxanne in the background.

I don't have any pictures of the footage or any video of it. If I did I can't upload it.

I am pleased :)

Can you describe it more?

The comedy is still bad. Johnson can't play comedy.

Ugh, strange, from the description of the scenes at SHH i thought it was quite hilarious.

Description needed ASAP, please:)

Hey guys, i was at the con today, and damn does GR look BAD-ASS!! Now i havent posted on the boards for quite a while but i always check in to see whats going on here. Did i represent??? HELL YES!! I was the one who told MSJ how great it was that he checks in with us on the boards from time to time, and even though hes stuck on post # 34, its great that he spends the time to get in direct contact with us at SSH. I also asked if he could talk Eva and Nick to swing buy and post here, to which Eva said she would need help posting here. MSJ said he will show up here soon and Nick would try to also. YES i have pics, but i dont think im authorized to post pics here yet, so if MM, FH or BG would like , ill forward them to you after the con on sunday of course.. Now ,yes i saw the con exclusive trailer, and yes it has the entire transformation from blaze to GR.. what did i think?? Damn that looks painfull!! Remember in Blade 2 what the vampires go through when they get killed?? Now SSSLLOOOOOWWW down that effect, add a lot of pain and horror on blazes face, melt away his skin and watch his eyes ignite. Sounds cool right? Well since i cant write worth crap, and its 132 am now. i can safely say that my description sux. its way cooler than i could ever write down.. its just damn cool to watch.Last but not least. Just before the GR panel, i went outside to have a smoke and ended up sneaking some guy from the press in to the panel( yes the line for hall H was crazy) he just got out from interviewing MSJ, Eva and Cage. The interviews were running late so thats why he was freaking out that he had to run outside, get to hall H and get back inside(yes i saw his press pass). I asked him point blank. " do you get the FEELING that everyone involved BELIEVES in this film, including Sony?? he said. HELL YES!!! ill just leave you with that... god i need sleep... D

Do you think we'll get audio or video of the Panel discussion? I'd like to hear or see for myself what was talked about and what questions were asked.

we have to...i cant imagine a panel w/ Cage and new Spider Man footage w/ Venom not having someone trying to record it.
but then again i dont think anyone was able to record anything from last year's panel discussion. i can remember the only way we got to see that Con trailer was when that website "accidently" posted it w/out their password feature being activated. whoops!

Yeah, I'm not sure how much of the actual panels they let out. I'm not sure if people are allowed in there with video cameras so, I'm really not sure what to expect.

I do certainly hope that someone 'accidently' posts this years movie footage online though...
