Power Rangers Anyone?

I loved her as Astronema in PRIS, She is my number 1 favorite villainous in Power Rangers history

She finally got her chance to be a Power Ranger, just like she wanted to be when she was a little girl in "Protect The Quasar Saber".

Yeah "Facing The Past" was a great Karone Centered episode . I also loved seeing her dressed in the Black skin tight outfit, she looks so hot & sexy .

It's funny, I got this sudden urge yesterday to go and watch the original Power Rangers movie, and ended up buying it off Amazon on DVD. I loved the original show and line-up. Wish Jason, Zach, and Trini woulda made it in the movie, but Rocky, Adam, and the other chick(can't remember her name) were cool too.

Stopped watching the show right after Zeo ended and the Turbo brand started, and most of the original cast left.


The originals were the best, of course. I also enjoyed the movie. You have to take it for what it is. It's not the TV show in a 2 hour block. There were a lot of changes (including the new suits, which were badass), but it's still a solid kid's movie and has all of the main aspects/themes of the show.

And the new Yellow Ranger was Aisha, or something. :up:

Ok, now that was kinda lame. It's not that the fight wasn't cool, but come on, he needs a Battlizer to take on a few Hidiacs and Styxoids? That just further proofs the point that Sentai > Power Rangers. Especially since the yellow Magiranger took Cyclops down on his own in a Sniper duel.

And say, does Cyclops actually shoot at all in that Episode? Because in that 4 minute clip all he did was to do slash attacks with his gun.

I just watched the Episode the Hunter. I really can't believe it what they did with Cyclops. They turned his sniper rifle into some sort of spear with a gun handle, shoots laser instead of bullets and has energy slash attacks.

And he was just lame compared to the Sentai version.

I don't watch Sentai and then try to compare it to PR, so personally I can care less what they do to this character or that character, as long as in the end I enjoy the PR episodes (and in the case of Mystic Force in general, it's okay at best).

From what I can tell, the main characters are Indiana Jones style archeologists/advcentururs who just have really high tech gear. And, of course, through their travels, they discover ancient civilizations and demons and elder gods and crap like that, which is where the action comes in.




Also, I want to share with you a theory I have about the Power Rangers. One of the biggest flaws of the series, I think, is it's lack of a continuity that properly flows. Ever since "In Space," every season has been a new cast of characters and a new theme without any real explanation. I have a solution for that:


We all know that in the first few seasons, all of their powers and gear came from Zordon. Everything was connected. Then came "In Space," which showed that there were Power Rangers on other planets, and Zordon had given them their technology. My theory is that the gear and technology of the Lost Galaxy Rangers, the Wild Force Rangers, and the Mystic Force Rangers all stem from Zordon. Remember, while the power coins came from Ninjor, the weapons and technolgy came from Zordon. The coins were simply a power source. Zordon gave Princess Shayla and Udonna the ranger tech, and they supplied the power source with their respective brands of magic. With the Lost Galaxy Rangers, he left the tech with the Quasar Sabers, which also served as the power source. This fits perfectly with the habbit he seemed to have as described in Power Rangers: In Space of forming Ranger teams and then leaving for another place.

Of course, that leaves out Lightspeed Rescue, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, SPD, and Time force. But there is still an explanation. After Dark Spectre invaded Earth, it is most likely that the government confiscated a good deal of the technology. They would then use this technology, in a test run, to creat Lightspeed Rescue. Lightspeed Rescue would eventually evolve into SPD, and SPD would later evolve into Time Force. It would also stand to reason that some of the technology would start floating around on the black market and on the internet. Thus, anyone with the proper comupter skills or the right amount of money could buy the technology or download the specs, and then all it would be uis a matter of the proper money and power source. Since the Wind Ninja Academy was independantly run, it stands to reason that they had a good deal of money in the bank. And, they had a power source in the form of the Wind Ninja Scrolls that gave the students their elemental powers. Dino Thunder was, most likely, the prouct of both the scenario as described with Ninja Storm, and Tommy's firsthand knowlege of Zordon's technology enabling him to help recreate it.



So yeah. That's my theory. Huzzah.

Thanks. Really, it's the only way to make sense of it all. Were I the creative director of a PR series, I would tap into that theory by showing the creation of SPD as Lightspeed Rescue becoming international in nature and recruiting the Dino Thunder and Ninja Storm teams.

Thats the thing PR has so much more potential to be so much more. Instead of having a new cast etc every season they could carry on into a few season digging into more character development like they did with MMPR. We all know who Tommy and Jason are because they stuck around for so long but people like Connor or Dustin who never will be remembered in years down the line simply because we didn't get time to dig into who they are. One season and thats it. We don't grow to love the characters like Tommy because they don't stick around for long.

Simple. I'd use less stock footage. I'd credit the stock footage there is to simple costume changes and weapons upgrades.

I got through Movie Madness 1 and 2 last night, and Time Force Traitor a few minutes ago.

Wow, wow, and more wow. Time Force is absolutely freakin' the shiznit.

Time Force certainly had alot of good points that many other seasons lacked. I still hold that In Space was the best written of all the series, but Time Force comes in second. I like how the villain of Time Force had an origin story that actually had some depth to it. Society treated him like utter crap because he was a freak, so he decided to repay society in kind. He wasn't simply "I'm evil, lol." He felt justified in his actions.

This is very true (which I'm now discovering), however I loved the relationship between Astronema/Ecliptor/Darkonda.

Ecliptor was one of the first villains they had who wasn't all bad. He was essentially an intergalactic version of a hitman/enforcer, but he had morals. There were lines he wouldn't cross. He actually cared about some people. That was a plus.

Cmill's Time Force Update:

I got through the "Destiny" 3-parter ("Dawn of Destiny", "Fight Against Fate", and "Destiny Defeated"). And I must say, those string of episodes are quite possibly THE most maturely written in this entire flippin' franchise. It literally felt like a legit television show at times. The whole 'Alex coming back' thing was great and to see how the others reacted to him now that they had fallen into such a comfort and trust in Wes was really great. Of course, the stuff with Mr. Collins and Wes was really well done, as well.

Ten more episodes to go. Should be good. :cool:

I finished Time Force a couple of days ago (:wow: :wow: :wow: is all I can say).

So, as of right now, the only seasons I haven't seen in their complete and utter entirety would be:

-Lightspeed Rescue
-Wild Force

I just want Mystic Force to end, immediately. It's not that it's a terribly bad season, it's just got so many problems I want it to be over with.

Boukenger sucks. I hope PROO to be more better than Boukenger. I don't want PROO to be exactly same as Boukenger.

I have to disagree... Boukenger is a really good series IMO. I've really gotten into the characters and the storyline recently, but I admit, I havent watched any of Kamen Rider, but the idea of a guy who rides on a motorcycle just doesn't cut it for me.

I really liked WF. Cole's Red Ranger costume was one of my favorites. Who is everyones fav PR costume? Mine would be the Thunder Ranger costumes or Trent's white Ranger costume.

And it is my opinion; if you don't like it, too bad. Kamen Rider Kabuto is even more better than Boukenger.

I'm very addict with Kamen Rider Kabuto because it's one of the best KR series EVAR! WOOT!
