I don't think Amy Jo is at all attractive. I will admit I did back in the day, but that was before we had a bajillion pink rangers. Since then we've had Kat Hillard, Cassie Chan, Kendrix Morgan, Karone, Dana Mitchell, Jen Scotts, Syd Drew, and Vida Rocca. Personally Kat, Karone, and Syd are my favs.I kinda liked the yellow rangers better, particularly since the yellow rangers were usually of different ethnicities; except for Kira and Z. The only pink rangers I liked were Kat and Cassie.

No. I'm not sure what her actress is (possibly Hispanic herself considering she's from Miami), but her character was clearly the sterotypical Hispanic with the last name Delgado and the big hoop earrings every once in a while.

I don't think so. It typically has to do with what you can see and know. Because Ashley's last name was Hammond and Power Rangers is always about sterotypes, no. A good example is that Trini is of Chinese descent dispite the fact that Thuy Trang was Vietnamese-American. Ricardo Medina is also Hispanic but I don't think his charater was considering his displayed no signs of it unlike Jack Guzman's character.

Just watched the first Episode of Gekiranger. Sadly without subtitles. I won't go much into detail, I just want to say that I enjoyed it. Though the first minute I was kinda thinking "Wtf?!" o_O

Considering the clips of Magiranger I saw...yeah. There's nothing wrong with "shoving" 2 episodes into 1. If anything Disney makes them do it as they've done it since Dino Thunder. Lost and Found in Translation and In Your Dreams and other episodes are clearly evidence of that as well as what Doug Sloan said before.

It's not a good idea to make a two part sentai episode that has a lot of footage of the rangers fighting into one PR episode. That most likely means the episode will be rushed. Like Soul Spector and the ten terrors arc. I mean come now Soul Spector had three megazord battles.

You know with the different groups of villains PROO is going to have there's a pretty good chance we're getting a In Your Dreams/Robotpalooza episode with all of them sending monsters at the same time.

For the most part, Sentai, is better than Power Rangers. Yes...its goofy and over-the-top, but most Japanese shows are like that.

Agreed. I stopped watching during Turbo, which many would say that I sticked around too long. I didn't watch a single PR episode till Dino Thunder. And, the only reason I watched Dino Thunder was because Tommy returned. The season was entertaining...I'll admit. And, so, as curiosity I checked out what I missed and new season SPD. And, man, the show is soooo bad. The only thing I enjoyed was Power Rangers In Space. And, even that ended up pissing me off towards the end.

I'll be the first to admit that MMPR and Zeo are crap, but hey, atleast it was entertaining. I wish I could say the same about the other seasons, but I can't. Except PRiS and Dino Thunder, of course.

I honestly don't know why the show is still on the air. They should just admit that they've over-stayed their welcome. The show had 4 good seasons and got lucky with PRiS and Dino Thunder. If I was in charge of PR I'd say, "thats better than nothing" and just call it quits.

You also seem to suffer the syndrome that if a show loses various characters, maybe not the actors, that the show is now useless. Power Rangers is clearly a fraternity if you study the timeline and history.

So what? Batman & Robin was perhaps the worst superhero movie ever made but it still made a billion dollars in toys. But, unlike Saban & Disney, WB realized that people hated the movie and spent 8 years to make a great movie and restore the franchise to its former glory.

I wouldn't care too much about the replacements if the replacements weren't horrible characters like Rocky and Justin. Seriously, how can you replace a character like Jason with a character like Rocky? Saban basically spit us in the face with stuff like that.

Dude, as much as I was entertained by PRiS it was nowhere as good as MMPR. To begin with, the problem with PR is that its the same s--t every episode and every season. How many times are we gonna see a ranger lose his powers or get the megazord destroyed or have villains break into the command center? It gets old after a while. Secondly, as bad as the actors were in MMPR nothing is worse than the chick who played Astonama or however you spell her name. It is true that she got good after a while, but for like 15 episodes she was giving a HORRIBLE performance. I've seen elementary school kids give better performances. And, finally but not the last of my complains, countdown to destruction was an insult to viewers who were there from the beginning. The PRiS team basically finished what the MMPR team not only started but dealt with for 4 years! Having them single-handling finishing the job then unmasking in front of Angel Grove to get all the credit was the biggest slap in the face. Countdown to Destruction should have teamed up the PRiS team with the MMPR/Zeo team. And, Tommy or heck even Jason should have broken Zordon's tube. Instead it was Andros who didn't even care about Zordon for most of the season.

Thought I should say that Tommy is over rated. And I was fine with the MF finale

How is Tommy overrated?! He went from the Evil Ranger to the Ranger who risked his powers to save the day to the leader of the group and finally as the mentor of a Ranger team. Give credit where its due, boy.

I'll admit that he was better as the green ranger. However, that doesn't mean I hated him in his other colors. In fact, I think its cool that Tommy went through so much growth. He probably had the most development of any ranger. The guy went from the new kid in school who was turned into the evil ranger by Rita to an important member of the PR team to the leader and finally as a mentor. Gotta give the guy some credit.

The new producer (former Story Editor and Assistant Story Editor) Jackie Marchand is the only person to really be involved with the story and she's been working with the show since 1995 and took a year off in 2002. She's the only one other than Koichi Sakamoto who is strictly stunts.

i hope it starts to slow down because its doing what Mystic Force had, rush episodes...

and they chopped the sides in Bouken-footages so that it can fit fullscreen. i wished Power Rangers did theyrs in Widescreen also.

and whats funny was they credited the wrong sentai season. they credited Magiranger instead of Boukenger

My 'review' from PRE:


It's been a long while since I've posted here, but it's good to be back. And now, for the premiere:

I will not hesitate in saying that this was the worst premiere in the history of this franchise. This is even ignoring that terrible terrible theme.

Let me start with the good. I love the suits (though really, that's praising Boukenger). The action looked decent enough, though the effects left a lot to be desired, even for PR. The cast, physically, looks fantastic. Ronny and Rose are the best looking female duo we've ever had. No contest. Dax looks to be a really great comic relief Ranger, and Mack has potential as a solid Red Ranger. Will? Gotta work on the acting, but he's passable. Oh, and the morphing sequence is top notch. Wish the other Rangers got their own individual ones for this premiere and not the split screen treatment, which is kinda lame.

Now, with that aside let's look at the bad (or in some cases, the god awful). The pacing? About as fast as Ronny in her race car on the track. How they were somehow able to rush a two-part premiere is beyond me, but they accomplished it. The writing here, both dialogue and story-wise, left a LOT to be desired. No witty back and forth between these strangers. Completely rushed exposition on the part of Mack's father and the villains. Just...blah.

Then, the DNA whatchamajigger. The very fact that a 5 second offscreen beam of light taught the Rangers everything they needed to know is a complete slap in the face to the intelligence of the fans. Sure, most years it isn't even explained how these random people know how to use their powers and morph and fight and pilot zords, but for the most part during the Disney era, we've had actually decent explanation as to how these things are possible. Look at Dino Thunder. Connor had to learn how to pilot the Mezodon Rover. SPD? The Rangers were trained to do what they do. Ninja Storm? The same thing. Mystic Force? They weren't very good fighters to begin with, but when they morphed and used magic, it was perfectly understandable how they were able to combat the bad guys. And even then, when we got to "Dark Wish" we saw a progression in their unmorphed fighting abilities after months of battles.

There was no need for the beam, and really, no need for the additional powers. Will was a thief, who likely had talent as a martial artist. Ronny was, technically, an athlete. Dax was a friggin' stuntman. Rose would've probably been the weak link, but we always need a Maddie in the group. And Mack has spent years with his adventurer father. They had talent, which was kind of the point of giving them these unique backgrounds, was it not? So why beat us over the head by giving them all abilities? *sigh*

The premise of the two villains being brothers is strong, and it'll be interesting to see how that plays out. But they get off to a lackluster and unmemorable start in this episode.

There really wasn't a need for the zord battle, at all. That was time that could have been used to explore the characters more. But, again. No.

I'm extremely extremely disappointed. But I'm stickin' with OO, because I'm a PR fan. Always and forever. But this was not the way to start off the season. But technically, it can only go up from here...........right?

Cool scene in the cave, hated the opening with Mack day dreaming lol, rich boy like Wes.
6 Months later, and in California cool, some nice stunts in that part.
Italy cool one of my favourite countries, and Ronny is a racer, that is cool.
Black ranger is a thief lol, his cool.
Ok London how cool, looks nothing like it lol, and the pinkranger is from London great idea, but she has an American accent, so it’s not as cool lol.
Uniforms are cool, I want one lol.
At the moment, Mack is a bit of a dummy lol.
I think yellow is really cool, like the whole ‘’I don’t want to be Lizard food,’’ and then see kicks there buts lol.

Mack was a bit greedy taking the morpher, why didn’t he help his dad, all he wants was the power.
So after the first episode I don’t like Mack, like I said his a dummy and well power driven I think.

Second episode

That city is going to be in a mess with lava melting everything lol.
Yes the Black ranger just made a massive hole in the road, lets all cheer lol.
Mack led them victory? Did he? I don’t think so.

Ok.....I mean I got the impression that he seemed a bit like a goon, he reads, good for him, I read books as well good for me.
I just don't think that he comes across smart either, I think he acts a bit young for his age as well. The rest of the team are fine, and are smart and well act like adults.

And if you watch the last 5mins of the second episode when Mack is standing the thing which changes their DNA the butler said something to Mack's dad about changing the DNA programme a bit.

I enjoyed this much better than MF's premire, but it wasn't as good as SPD's.


-I like how they start off with an orginial storyline. Hopefully they won't drop this and decide to finally pick it up right before the season is over.

-Different groups of villains competing against each other. A first for PR. I can't wait until the other three groups show up. If there is a teamup it'll be interesting to see them take on all five groups at once.

-Spencer reminds me so much of Alfred.

-Rose is my favorite ranger so far.

-Mack is cool. I like how he actually wanted to be a Power Ranger. He doesn't annoy me like Nick did. He just might end up being the first Red Ranger I really liked since Time Force. I just hope this doesn't turn into Operation Mackdrive.

-I really didn't like Mack getting his own morphing sequence while the other four get split screen.

-The Megazord battle felt rushed.

-Norg seems like a useless character.

I have high hopes for Operation Overdrive, simply based on the potential I saw in the cast in the premiere. And I'm praying that we get a fine 15th season.

But my thoughts towards the premiere really haven't changed. I just greatly disliked it from start to finish.

I went back and watched "Day of the Dino" yesterday, and the banter between Connor, Kira, and Ethan is great. There was a sense of genuine energy that I found completely lacking in "Kick Into Overdrive". Here's hoping with the failed introduction out of the way, the show can pick up a bit.

Not in the mood to write a full review for last night's "The Underwater World", but I will say this was a vast improvement on the premiere, though there are still some glaring problems.

#1: Samuel Benta is a god awful actor, even for this franchise. It's almost as if he's only capable of two facial expressions: lop-sided grin and an angry face.

#2: The Sentai footage of BoukenYellow's childlike personality just DOES NOT fit Ronny AT ALL. It was borderline painful hearing her comments throughout the Atlantis sequences.

Other than that, this wasn't half bad. Mack and Rose make a good 1, 2 punch in terms of leader and second-in-command. The pacing was pretty good, and I liked the little banter between the Rangers here. I would like to praise the action, but that'd be moreso praising the Sentai, so....yeah....;)

I think this episode was good. I was hoping for some on King Neptune for obvious reasons because King Neptune was a character from Lightspeed Rescue.

This is like the first PR series where they havent done ONE thing better than the sentai version. Sooo disapointing.

It's been announced that we're only getting 32 episodes of OO just like last year with MF. Hopefully we won't get to many rushed episodes like towards the end of MF.

The biggest problem with translating MagiRanger is that Magi had a lot of multi-storied episodes, which had a lot of footage of the rangers fighting, and when they put those stories into MF, they broke them down into a single episode. Take Soul Spector for example. The episode was supposed to be a two parter, but they rushed the scenes to contense it into one. It literally felt like episodes were on fast forward. Same thing with episodes like The Hunter and The Snow Prince.

On the other hand, Boukenger only had five or six multi-part episodes, one of these multi-parters I think can be made into one part without being rushed because it doesn't have that much fight footage so maybe OO won't have that much of a problem.

And I keep hearing that Kalish said he was doing something special for the 15th anniversary. If this is that teamup wouldn't he be kind of cutting it with only 32 episodes?

The storyline involved Red's memories of a tragic accident years ago where he lost his previous team. He is forced into a similiar situation with his current team but never once wanted to give up. This was the Bouken ep that made me a fan of the show. The PR version needed this extra level of backstory/depth to its adaption.

It's pretty meh, Spoon.

To give you an idea (and this is IMO):

Let me put it in these terms (through six episodes):

MF's Villains > OO's Villains
SPD's Acting > OO's Acting
DT's Ranger Chemistry > OO's Ranger Chemistry
NS's Comedic Elements > OO's Comedic Elements

There hasn't been a really redeemable quality about this season right now when compared to Disney's past efforts. The acting is all over the place, the villains are lame, the Rangers lack chemistry, and Dax (bless his heart) just ain't quite cutting it as the comedic relief. And then...there's Samuell Benta. *shudders*

I'm sticking with it, mainly because the cast physically looks good, the suits are so damn pretty, and I'm still a loyal fan to anything PR.

That's not that bad of a villain. It needed to be something massive to bring in various rangers. Most of the villains from season two to turbo were good or destroyed and that would be the connection for Adam to return. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a posse of others with him. Of course what would be his source of anger and where would his now good mother come into play if at all.

Because he was acting like an ass on set. Him and James Napier were at constant odds and Emma was obviously on James' side, since theyre tight.

I'm still a Tommy fan though and but this isnt the first I've heard of JDF's poor sense of humor.

Emma seems cool though. Despite the drama behind the scenes with JDF and a few others, there was still alot of fun on set I heard. This was a funny moment particularly;

Because he was acting like an ass on set. Him and James Napier were at constant odds and Emma was obviously on James' side, since theyre tight.

I'm still a Tommy fan though and but this isnt the first I've heard of JDF's poor sense of humor.

I got the feeling that JDF had problems with David Yost on MMPR when I watched the Behind the Scenes clip on Youtube.Yost looked pissed.

I liked Wild Force, they were more bearable then Light speed.

WF did more cool things then LS ever did, and the only cool thing I can think of that's worth mentioning in LS was when the Red and Silver rangers basically said **** it and went to go beat the crap out of the bad guys in the final eps.

Lightspeed was way better than this ****. LSR had Joel; way funnier than any of the Disney rangers.

LSR had Carter; one of my favorite red rangers...all his focus episodes rocked.

The Titanium Ranger storyline rocked too.

Capt Mitchell wasnt a douche like Andrew Hartford either and Miss Fairweather = hotness.



I'd say Wild Force, Mystic Force and OO are the worst ranger casts. Sloan did a much better job casting for Disney than Kalish.

They showed WF on PR Generations a couple of months ago and I could see why it wasn't shown a lot. It's like the team was a bit too "goody" and childlike for me, none of them really had an edge to them; except Merrick IMO and I would say Taylor but she was too *****y for me.

Ugh, Merrick was such a waste of space. He was so badass as Zen-Aku, then he became a total pussy as Merrick. Also, a pool cue? That's his weapon? :whatever: Wild Force overall sucked pretty bad. The only thing that stopped it from being a complete waste of a season for me was the crossovers and the Zen-Aku stuff. The Time Force crossover, "Forever Red," and the early, villainous Zen-Aku were all great.

I haven't been able to get into OO. I watched the 2-part premiere episode and I wasn't impressed. This cast is worse than usual at masking their accents, which just kills the whole illusion of the show. The Indiana Jones take on adventure-archaeology is so clichéd at this point, too. After watching season after season of PR, I've become convinced that the formula for a great PR season is just to have the core group be a bunch of normal people with strong interpersonal relationships and leave the major action to the Power Rangers part of their lives. Every time they try to shoehorn some action-oriented setting for the Rangers while they're just normal people has resulted in a less engaging season for me--SPD and Lightspeed Rescue come to mind particularly.

There are exceptions, like Time Force and, to a lesser extent, Ninja Storm (since the kids still spent a lot of time as normal kids, clandestine ninja school notwithstanding), but, generally speaking, having the protagonists be members of some major, action-oriented group or agency in their normal lives just doesn't work for me.
