Well it was confirmed on RB that because Kalish couldnt get Chris Violette (Sky) he got Matt Austin to return as Bridge (SPD Red).

Its pretty retarded.


Personally I would have brought back another real red ranger from the Saban Era like Eric (Dan Southworth) since he isnt doing any gigs now.

And if an SPD quota was required, John Tui could appear as Cruger (since hes an NZ local)....

My 'review' from RangerBoard:

Damn you, Operation Overdrive! Why must you confuse me so? I wrote that your opening episodes sucked ass, and yet here you are now KICKING ass. Ahhhh!

A fantastic episode. Yes, there were a lot of explosions and wire-fu, but those usually only bother me when they involve bikes or other nonsensical vehicles. I loved the twists in this episode, and even though I've been extremely hard on Mr. Benta, his acting here (with that persistent grin) actually worked...to a degree. Oh, and kudos on all of his morphs in this ep. Very badass.

The "Man Law" joke had me in stitches. Very nicely done, and a cool reference to an event from several episodes back.

I really loved the opening with them in a completely different Arabic setting. Unlike Time Force which seemed to promise time traveling but didn't really deliver, this season seemed to promise adventures and traveling and has so far delivered upon that.

The fight scene between Will and Kamdor was actually extremely well crafted. One of the better PR fight scenes between two characters I've seen in a good while. I didn't care much for the zord battle in this episode, but I can live with it.

And Ria Vandervis actually stepped up her acting since her last appearance, and I enjoyed her bits with Will.

All in all, I am pretty amazed by how much Overdrive continues to improve with each episode. Here's hoping this gradual growth continues, because this was most definitely a 10/10 episode for me.

The thing i hope they do with this rita/Zedd son is i hope they give him his own foot soliders maybe some rita putties/z putties or tengas. I bet they could possibly get some suits from tengas or rita putties from Toei. Also i hope they come up with a cool suit for him and not just use a sentai monster from the series the current season is based on. Also it would be great if they would have more then just adam a saban season guy with all those disney era rangers.
Maybe one or two more saban era guys would be cool too. But i know that is pretty hard thing for disney due to almost all the saban era actors are SAG actors and that is an issue for pay/flight/hotel. Then their is some saban era actors either retired from acting, have no interest returning to PR and other reasons. Then their is Disney being cheap on PR too and all that. Look at what they had to do to get JDF to be in DT and all that.
I hope what ever happens ends up being good and all that. Also i really hope the teamup takes part in angel grove. They could easily have the OO rangers sent there to look for a jewel/ clue cause they get a reading on a source located their or what not. It would be sweet if part of the team up took place in angel grove even though if they did that it would just be some NZ city cause they could/would not film in LA lol.
But we should be happy with what ever we end up getting and all that and lucky we have atless one saban era ranger back even though their is probably a bunch who would be willing to return but either we not asked or other reasons why not returning. Also i hope they say the son was born pre C2D possibly any time between turbo-space season because during that time we did not see rita and zedd much and then if a son was born then he could have been taken away to another planet/galaxy for safety against the rangers if they found out.

Yea i wonder why Disney would not release full box sets of the early seasons here in the states. I would love to have all the old episodes to see ones i havent seen in forever. I would think disney would make a good buck off the sets cause older fans would be happy to have region 1 dvd sets of the saban era episodes. Yes, they did. MMPR s3 had the least amount of Sentai footage reused, and I think that was the best MMPR season. I really liked how they gave Amy Jo Johnson a nice arc for her to get out of the series, as opposed to reusing footage for ASJ, TT and WJ when they abruptly left the show and had to replaced by Karan Ashley, Steve Cardenas and Johnny Bosch.

And MMPR s1 will indeed be released as a complete boxed set in Germany, around €29.99 ($40.91 U.S. dollars). All of the episodes will be presented on 6 discs (holding 10 episodes each) with German and original English stereo tracks. The discs will be packaged in 5 slim cases in a regular slipcase. There will be a couple of extras:

- Biographies and cast info (German only)
- A Message from the Power Rangers clips
- Jason David Frank in Germany

MMPR s2 is tentavely scheduled for a July release and the final MMPR season is planned for December. But those could be scrapped if not enough people buy copies (or import them, which is what I'm doing).

Yes, they did. MMPR s3 had the least amount of Sentai footage reused, and I think that was the best MMPR season. I really liked how they gave Amy Jo Johnson a nice arc for her to get out of the series, as opposed to reusing footage for ASJ, TT and WJ when they abruptly left the show and had to replaced by Karan Ashley, Steve Cardenas and Johnny Bosch.

And MMPR s1 will indeed be released as a complete boxed set in Germany, around €29.99 ($40.91 U.S. dollars). All of the episodes will be presented on 6 discs (holding 10 episodes each) with German and original English stereo tracks. The discs will be packaged in 5 slim cases in a regular slipcase. There will be a couple of extras:

- Biographies and cast info (German only)
- A Message from the Power Rangers clips
- Jason David Frank in Germany

MMPR s2 is tentavely scheduled for a July release and the final MMPR season is planned for December. But those could be scrapped if not enough people buy copies (or import them, which is what I'm doing).

NAHH i think ninja storm and dino thunder had the best morphing of all seasons. ninja storm would come first then dino thunder. ninja storms morphign was very discriptive. for example when cam morphed they showed him on his knee's in some samurai hut as a real samurai would do.

I like all of the morphing sequences, Mighty Morphin a little less so because the ones afterwards always showed at least the torso up.

This is just a shot of the vetern rangers with writers/film crew. I hope the dude reveals some more of the photos he has. Yea it is a little weird bridge is red now. But we dont know from what point bridge is coming from to the yr 2007. Mybe it been a few yrs since the end of spd season time and he was promoted or maybe sky was away or injuryed and bridge is stepping in. I cant wait ot see/hear more info on the reunion and maybe a pic of what Rita/Zedd son will look like. I hope to god they are not using a random monster from the current series they are adapting that they dont plan to use the episode footage from. I would love if they make a new suit for the character and not use some random monster suit.

Yea we are lucky we have any pre disney guys in the team up. As the other poster said most either want no connection to PR any more, or not acting, or many other reasons. It would be nice to see some other past rangers return. Then we also have disney to play into affect to they either dont want to pay for the actors to travel to NZ and all that. Also many of the past ranger actors during Saban era are/were SAG and that also plays a factor for a SAG actor doing an non SAG production which PR is now. I do believe their is probably a few Saban era guys who would be willing to return but that will probably never ever happen.

IMO The Power Rangers series should've ended when the series finale for Power Rangers : In Space - Countdown to Destruction 1-2 (Death Of Zordon, The End of Evil's regin in the Galaxy, The Legacy Of The Power Rangers) It shouldn't have continued after that . (While their were some good series later on) before the episode "Forever Red" or the series "Dino Thunder", I really couldn't understand how the rest of the other PW series were connected to The "Zordon Era" .

Luckly the episode "Forever Red" as well as the episode in Dino Thunder "A Legacy Of Power" aired in some way it all made sense .

He still has access to the mastedon power coin and the zeo green powers. But as we know he is using the black ranger powers again like he did in PRIS "Always a chance" episode. So either he still has his broken power morpher like in the in space episode. Or when bridge arrives he brings replacement morphers for Adam,Kira,Tori like what we saw in the SPD episode "History". Also another thing i wanted to mentioned is i was over at Johnny's band website on their forum page in there power rangers section and johnny posted there saying the team up episodes are either taking place at ep20 and ep21 or ep21 and ep22.

Am I the only one disappointed by this team-up? This is the show's 15th anniversary but they are treating it like the 5th anniversary. Why is Adam the only Saban era Ranger in the episode? They should have done something like Forever Red.

there is many reasons why Adam is the only Saban era character in the teamup. Many of the actors or actress from the saban era either have no interest in being power rangers again, or quit acting all together. Then some where probably asked but decided not to return or they where not asked at all. Also we have Disney that factors in too. Many of the saban era actors who are still acting who would return are SAG actors and PRs now is a non SAG production and their is alot of legal issues for SAG actors to do a non SAG production. Also disney is real cheap at flying out actors from canada/us to NZ where production is done.

First off johnny confirmed the teamup is a two parter and will be airing at some point between episode 20-24 range. The plot for the teamup is The son of Lord Zedd and Rita comes to seek his revenge on the Power rangers. He goes and attacks the OO rangers and they get badly defeated and rumored to lose their powers. Then the vetern ranger team consisting of Adam as the Black mighty morphin ranger, Kira the yellow DT ranger, Tori the wind blue ranger, Xander as the green mystic ranger, and Bridge returning as the New Red SPD ranger come help defeat the Son and help the OO rangers out.
The son plot is he was probably born either Pre C2D some time between Zeo-Turbo time because we did not see alot of Zedd and Rita during that time. And then taken away somewhere to be safe away from the power rangers. Or he was born after C2D and before rita becomes the mystic mother in mystic force and turns evil by some evil source.
Also the rumors most people are saying Bridge comes from the future with morphers/powers for tori, kira, and adam so they have their powers again. Which we know SPD has an archive of old ranger morphers. Also with bridge being red ranger now is he probably got promoted again from blue at the end of SPD and is now the red ranger. Also he could be coming from a few yrs later then where SPD started in 2025 so that could be a realistic reason why he was promoted to red now. In real life reasons the actor for jack declined to return and for some reason sky's actor also wasnt able to return so they where left with bridge because they probably wanted to use another disney era ranger and did not want two rangers from the same team on the vetern team.
Also it will be cool if adam is using his old damage morpher and mastdoen power coin again like in the PRIS episode always a chance. And it could probably hold a morph for a longer time now since the morphin grid is now more stable then it was after the events of turbo when it was destroyed.

Yea i know there is a few saban guys who would love to return but u have to look at disney who are cheap on flying people out and paying for them if they are SAG. But as i said in my other post many like 90% either want no interest in power rangers again or quit acting all together. Then also there is if they even asked any of the people who are willing to return to come or not too cause they probably did not. And catman i mentioned why there isnt many oldschool rangers in the special. If u need to hear again first disney wont pay the actors for flying to and from NZ to film the episodes.Then many are SAG actors who are still acting in any degree and their is alot of things they would have give/pay them which disney doesnt want to do. However because Power Rangers is filmed in New Zealand and isn't union, they don't have those obsticles, but they do have to pay just slightly more (not union standard still).

But 15 years they could have just done better with some older rangers, but looks good apart from Bridge which I still hate him being red.

He's not really that old school. He's one of the "replacement" Rangers from back in the day. Something that the other series never went through. For such a big name company, they sure know how to treat the series like it's nothing more than just another filler show. If it was their own property, they would have done a lot more, but nope. We get Replacement Black Ranger in the lead and a few more mixed series characters and nothing more.

"Forever Red" will always be the true reunion.

Well johnny is still an oldschool character back from its earlier days so i still consider him oldschool. Yea it would have been cool if they got jason's actor or zack's actor to come back i know i read some where they would be willing to come back but it always up to disney what they are going to do with the show and the really dont have the interest of spending alot of money to get old actors to return and fly out and back from NZ.

Johnny posted on a few forum sites the special is going to be a two parter event. He said will possibly airing between episodes 20-24 and episode 14 just aired this week so possibly in july/early aug. I really hope it is before end of aug cause i wont be able to see it on toon disney if it is after aug cause my college doesnt have the ch and i would have to wait to when ever it will air on abc if it is later in aug or that.

That takes effort.

Yea i too hope the Son looks cool. I hope they make a new suit/monster look and no just take a monster suit they are not planing to use footage from an episode of GoGo Sentai Boukenger. It would really suck if they just take some random monster and call it their son. I really hope they make something on their own and hoping it would be cool if he has a staff that either looks like rita's or zedd's or a combo of the two.

It's a kids show. If you want more, buy it and pay for it yourself.

It's a simple negoitation and arranging a flight and a trip for a few days. Not exactly the hardest thing in the books. You all make it sound like it's a real challenge, when it clearly isn't.

Added to the fact that the show has gone on more than five seasons and had over 50 rangers, that's just a pitful example of a reunion.

see now what made mighty morphin also soo great was the hype music that hyped all teh fighting and action up. now a days the new ranger series dont even do that. they just go all"ov..erdrive..acce...rate" in slow motion n crappy crap liek that. for example in "man of mercury", did u guys realize how slow tyzonn said "overdrive accelerate"? if it were old days, it would have been moreveffort and enthusiastic put into saying the morph words and better music. that's all i have to say.

Completely American-made, too. I always wished they would just take the designs and costumes from the sentai but make totally American footage, except for the zords. It would've done wonders for the consistency of the show. But it would've also cost too much, I'm sure.

That's because they had to formulate a story for it. Would you be as accepting if your favorite character(s) left with no explanation in the middle of the season? When I was a kid, I hardly noticed and now unless I'm paying really close attention I don't notice. So I guess they did their job.

I think every power rangers fan wished they would do it. If power rangers was on the sci fi channel it would happen in a heart beat. But its with Disney. Where everything has to be corny and filled with rainbows.

I was thinking more like a Movie series, than a TV Series.
If you have a bigger budget, then you have the ability to film better fight scenes and better graphics.
It would be more like a reboot, with Jason, Billy, Zach, Trini, and Kimberly.
Pretty much everything would be redone, including the suits.
I would make the suits a little like the X-men suits, using leather instead of the padded armor of the film and the tights of the series.
Zordon would pretty much be left alone, but I would make him closer to the film version. Alpha 5 would be there too, but it would look a bit more feminine to match the voice.
Rita would be the first big baddie, of course, but she would be a bit more menacing and sexy, her personality would be why she has the name Repulsa, not her looks. Goldar might look the same as the film version, I liked the look of him, but the suit would be much more advanced. His face would be a more flexible, like the Burton Planet of the Apes faces. All of Rita's comrades would be updated. The Putties would pose more of a threat, because their numbers would be much more when they attacked, like whole armies at once.

The Zords would be used once, at the end, like in the TV series and film. Bu the fight would be much longer. The monster they fight would already be that size, instead of growing. I'd use the same animals, but their designs would be much sleeker and smooth. Also, the T-rex wouldn't have his tale on the ground, but look more like what we know what a T-Rex looked like.
The end would be ambiguous, leaving for a sequel if it's a hit.
