The Green Ranger saga needs a DVD release.
Agreed as does "White Light" , "King For A Day" ,"Fighting Spirit" etc .Or Why don't they just released a dvd set of Tommy Oliver (Featuring All of The Best episodes of Tommy Oliver from MMPR to PRDT)

Amazing. I haven't been in this thread in nearly a month and its ten pages deeper. I will just bypass those ten pages of probably a billion redundant posts and arguments between posters instead of real discussion.
I'm basically announcing that my website, RangerMania, will no longer function as an information website. Right now the plan for RangerMania is to play host to a podcast regarding Power Rangers (and occasionally Super Sentai when my co-hosts engage in that department with me saying what I think shouldn't go into the show based on what small clips and text information I had previously read), a depository for my interviews, and new news regarding the show. The information, whose past life was originally a site called Legacy of Power and was planned to be incorporated into RangerMania, is currently being reformatted and expanded into a book format. This format would cover just about everything there is to cover in the Power Rangers Universe and is planned to include Power Rangers Jungle Fury and Power Rangers 2009 (possibly 2010 as well) as I'm sure it'll take me a while to write. When the book is complete I will probably release it as an e-book in a PDF format or try and publish it in the open market. Thanks for your support, and if you think you could help, you could always ask and I could look into it.

Alpha's voice sounded bad. Why was he kept in a box in the middle of nowhere?
Alpha was also mad tall for no reason. I was scared. Disney completely ruined my childhood thoughts of alpha by giving us that crap. They didn't even try.

Dude...it's Power Rangers. For the few people who actually do post in this thread, we talk about the things we like in this children's show, talk about the things we don't like in this children's show, and then we walk out of the room.
Get over yourself a bit, RK. There's no need for it. I mean, I understand the franchise means a lot to you, and you'd like to see a more "mature" appreciation and response for the series. I feel the same way (to an extent) at times. However, you can't go around putting down people 'cause they don't share your sentiments. It's not the Power Ranger way.

Jason David Frank should be brought back more often. What really needs to happen is for Disney or whoever controls the rights to Power Rangers is for them to do a new theatrical movie featuring every Power Ranger & Zord possible & then put the whole Power Rangers series to rest afterwards. It's the longest running live action series ever but eventually they need to end it.

Dino Thunder is the worst season ever along with those four pathetic that Disney made.
Conner was one of the worst Red Ranger ever along with Disney's Red Rangers. They are all pussy and whining. Trent sucked as the White Ranger. Ethan was annoying and I can't stand him completely. Completely moron along with Idiot Conner.
Mesogog wasn't awesome main villain at all. Zeltrax sucked hard. Same with Elsa.
The story of Tommy and Smitty/Zeltrax, SUCKED and pathetic.
What could've a lot better for Dino Thunder....
-Trent to stay evil for a long time before the finale.
-If Tommy's not in Dino Thunder, then Dr. Edward Payne.
-If Tommy's in Dino Thunder, then Katherine / Zeltrax. It makes more story between Tommy and Katherine.
-Tommy's not being stuck into his suit.
Dino. Thunder. Sucked. Period.
Disney is not making Power Rangers to be an awesome and badass, like Saban's Era.
Disney's Power Rangers.... every Rangers, villains and the allies, they are completely idiots with bubbling, motormouth and retarded gay lame comedy.
Lothor sucked and he wasn't threated to everyone completely.

I'm a major PR fan, but haven't yet caught up with the current season (the last ep I saw was the team-up "Once A Ranger"). I do know about Mack being an android, though, and am not quite sure how I feel about it. Yeah, it's an interesting idea, but is also one of those things that has the potential to come off as being REALLY cheesy.
JOOC, what is everyone's favorite PR series, and why? Mine is Ninja Storm, since I feel it was the first series since PRiS to really capture the feel of the original MMPR, and was very similar to that series in its execution, storyline, and characters. Runner-up favorite series for me are Time Force, PRiS, PRMF, and PRLG, although not necessarily in that order.

Wow... sad how something can go instantly from "a dissappointment" to: THE WORST EVAR!
When you have Turbo, Wild Force, Lost Galaxy. Zeo and Mystic Force sitting around, it's REALLY hard to imagine DT has being the worst EVAR. They certainly didn't have the worst villain. (Divatox anyone? Really?) Or the worst Red Ranger (SuperNick? Tarzan's missing kid?) and you certainly don't think that Tommy was a worse mentor/"sixth" ranger than... Phantom Ranger (Talk about not getting out of costume) or Blue Centurion!!!
But yeah, Disney is going to continually miss opportunities cuz they just don't see the show from the same scope as the Saban era, they have this one little season to tell these compact little tell-em-in-any-order type stories, and these teeny tiny budgets. It's insanity.

I thought the Phantom Ranger was a pretty cool ally. He was never really a Sixth Ranger, since he barely ever actually fought alongside the other Rangers. He was just an alien dude who popped up to give the Rangers cryptic information and generally be mysterious and cool.

It's gotta be cheaper to go local than to fly American or UK actors out there. No big deal, really. We'll be able to compare how terrible the Australians' and New Zealanders' accents are. :)
Speaking of which, I wonder why they don't just allow them to speak in their natural accents and just claim these particular Rangers operate out of Australia. What, there are never any alien invasions down under?

The Operation Overdrive finale aired in the UK.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b276/morgan_lamia/mackmorphmorganlamia.gif
It was rushed and somewhat disapointing. Nice fights but the conclusion with Mack turning human was weak and the resolution to the Hartford/Mack conflict was also kinda lame. Mack's sacrifice to destroy Flurious seemed unnecessary (since Flurious was already weakened and down) and the battilizer beating the power of the Corona Aurora totally makes the crown seem like nothing significant. It just changed Flurious into a regular random MOTD. The choppy 45 second zord fight was unnecessary too. The resolution of the Tyzonn/Vella thing was just tacked in at the end randomly.
This finale gets a 2.5 out of 5 for me.
The only points it gets are for the cool fights and nice morphing sequences.
Overall I would give a 3 out of 5 to OO as a whole. It certainly had a few good episodes (Face to Face, Home and Away [which felt more like a finale than this], Man of Mercury) but the execution of the overall stories and arcs that were set up were weak and the acting ranged from average to bad. Norg proved utterly worthless all season. The only interesting character was Mack and they ultimately didnt do anything significant with his storyline beyond "Things Not Said" and his resolution was predictable and weak. Aside from Adam returning, the teamup was pretty forgettable as well.
Theres no question Boukenger owned Overdrive, I honestly wasnt expecting anything different.

Yesterday I believe.
Part II of "Once a Ranger" was decent (minus unmorphed Mack going DBZ on the grown monster) but Part I was just 30 slowmo Kalishplosions in 23 minutes.
Bastila
11-12-2007, 09:52 AM
Yeah Part 2 was awsome, I loved it the other rangers had there shows theme in the backroudn.
I didn't like when Mack did that it was stupid like how did he jump that high lol Dax can.
But I liked the whole cheesy 'Power Rangers forever, Go go power rangers' things they said in it, I know its sad but I loved it
Tori is cool, I was happy they brought her back I really like NS now.

Man what a crapy predictable ending . This has got to be the worst series finale in Power Ranger history . The two parter episode "Home and Away" had a much more serious Finale feel to it .
So Mack's is really Pinocchio huh . (Andrew Hartford is Geppetto ) & ( Spencer is Jiminy Cricket) LAME :whatever:
Tony Almeida 24
11-12-2007, 10:15 AM
The team?
Mack - James was the only actor with talent and was given the most interesting storyline but the execution was poor (not his fault; the writers). Mack gets a 3/5.
Will - Most of his episodes were good. His character was predictable but cool. His acting ranged from good to awful. "Laaaaazuuurs" 3/5
Tyzonn - This character could have been an easy 5/5 if they maintained his characterization from Face to Face and Man of Mercury. Instead they turned him into a complete weirdo for the sake of comic relief for a huge chunk of the season until randomly throwing the Vella plot in (which ultimately amounted to nothing). 2.5/5
Ronny - Nice to look at. Aside from that there was nothing interesting about her. Shes destined to be one of the forgotten rangers in a few years. They still never explained why the Fearcats specifically wanted her (since Yellow had a huge role in the sentai series). The racecar stuff has all been done before with Lucas and even he got more development than her. 2/5
Rose - Barely got any focus all season. The episode with her and Tyzonn was one of the worst acted episodes I've ever seen on PR (reminded me of Wildforce). Her accent was just plain weird. I dont think she ever did an American accent right once. Shes doomed to be forgotten as well. 1.5/5
Dax - Annoying and rarely ever funny. I noticed they convienently shut him up in the last few episodes. I dont think I've ever heard him do a proper American accent either. I hate how he delivers his lines. Bad actor. 1/5
It wasnt that good a team overall.

What did you think of the OO team overall?
Will was cool , Tyzonn was a badass as The Mercury Ranger (He should've been the team leader) , Veronica was a hot babe , Rose (In the very beginning was Annoying, But she grew on me mid-way, Now I like her a lot.)
Mack just didn't cut for me as a real team Leader Red Ranger . Dax was just their to be the Comic relief guy of the group .
Overall this Ranger team was average at best .

When powers rangers first came out, I was 8. I'm 22 now. So if I go back and watch MMPR now, of course it'll probably suck but despite its flaws, it s amore cohesive and better character driven series that the throwaway latter seasons. The only thing that gave the latter seasons some credibility were the hot chicks but other than that, the series were equally silly and in most cases sillier. Whereas MMPR came out in the early 90s so its level of cheese and sillyness can be forgiven. Also, the merchandising of power rangers related stuff peaked with MMPR...go figure.:o

Is all of this stuff about Disney turning PR into an animated show confirmed somewhere, or is it all just rampant speculation based on rumors?

If done right they could pull it off. Like I said earlier, Voltron is basically an animated Sentai and it was popular.

Why is it that Power Rangers series keep being made? The franchise is already dead, and only the original series was any good.

If they made an animated series, I'd kind of want to see them either bring the original MMPR back together for a really serious threat that only they could handle or pull together fan-favorite characters from various seasons to form a "Legendary Rangers" sort of team. If they don't need to deal with bringing the original actors back, there's nothing stopping them from doing either, which would probably make a lot of fans happy.

It wouldn't really be the "original" team then, would it? If people are so averse to having Trini, I'd prefer to just see the Ranger All-Stars thing. Of course, people would argue endlessly about why their favorite character didn't make it on the team. I know I'd be upset if Adam weren't on there.

and what exactly are they doing? I dont see most of hte actors having many acting gigs these days and not much after PR. Besides, I dont think they need the original actors. If they do do a cartoon, this is going to be for a new generation of fans, kids who most likely havent seen the original series and arent connected with the original characters/actors. I dont think they are aiming this for the original fans who are all older and in their 20s now

Power Rangers would work better if they spent at least 3 seasons with the same characters like what MMPR did season 1-3.
Having almost two seasons each year makes me not care about characters, because they do not have development.

The Sentai Shows manage just fine with only 1 season. I don't know why it's so difficult for Power Rangers. I mean, come one. 50+ Episodes, how much more do you need for character development?

There is so much more you could do with more seasons based on the same characters.
More seasons means you could have more storylines based on the same characters. With more development, you could care about the characters more. I loved Ninja Storm-I wish I could have seen more of these characters:cmad:

I rather have new characters each Season, than to watch the same characters getting one new power-up after another. It gets ridiculous after some time. Like Zordon having so many different Powers and Zords, yet he never bothered to tell the Rangers.
Havok83
11-24-2007, 11:49 AM
I also think its a bit harder for them to do same characters each season. MMPR seasons 1-3 pretty much used only 1 season worth of Sentai footage. I think the power differences and footage is just alot more drastically different now from season to season. How would they explain the Dino Tunder gang turning into futuristic sci-fi cops and then into magic based rangers? I think staring new each seasons allows them to avoid that and no come up with some convoluted excuses and it also helps to keep things fresh and new. As much as I loved the SPD gang, Im glad it ended where it did bc I dont think they would have fit in with the Mystic Force theme. The characters work for their particular season/theme and wont necesarily make a good transition to the next one that follows

Yeah, there were a lot of situations where the Rangers were like, "oh noez, we've lost our powers and we're completely at the evil dudes' mercy!" and Zordon's like, "Oh wait, kids, didn't I tell you about the Ninja/Zeo/Turbo powers? I could've sworn I--no? Not at all? Oh well, they're there; quit whining and go use 'em."

I prefer PRiS to pretty much all else. Zordon was reduced to the damsel in distress and the legacy aspect of the Rangers was played up really well. That was like my JSA of the PR franchise. Everything from various parts of the PR universe came together to work really well there.

God, remember the very first scene of the very first episode of the very first season? It has these to moron astronauts on the moon finding Rita's capsule and opening it. Rita emerges with her goons and declares she will now conquer the nearest planet, which just happens to be our Earth. 1) Who the hell are these idiot astronauts and what are they doing on the moon? We never see or hear from those guys again. 2) The moon is not that close to Earth. We see Earth in the sky of what is supposed to be the moon, and it's HUGE.

you really don't know what you are missing. The plots are more intricate, and more serious, often times than not there is FAR less buffonery than in the stuff they rape and put on american TV and call power rangers.
I watched the entire season of Majiranger before it became Mystic Force and I was blown away by how good it actually was, then I figured I would give Mystic Force a TRY (considering i actually liked the american SPD...to an extent).
