- KabutoOriKami, KajikiOriKami and ToraOriKami can combine, forming the "ToriKami" a giant bird OriKami. Kajiki forms part of the body and head, Kabuto's body splits into the wings, Tora's drills are turned backward and makes the main body. Then the leftover parts from each connect, becoming the tail.
- ShinkenOh may unite with the ToriKami...

I'm surprised you didn't include one of the crossovers, either "Forever Red" or "To the Tenth Power".

Rangers from the previous seasons coming back to help out the current season's Rangers. I remember watching the first one, the return of the Psycho Rangers and Andros returning to help out the Galaxy Rangers.

She wasn't suppose to die in the first place. But when the actress was diagnosed with leukemia, the writers decided to write out her character so that she can undergo treatment and recover.

Permanent death or not, it did lead way to not only Karone's return but also taking up the Ranger mantle, a first for a former main villain turned Power Ranger.

I heard about the movie script but the fate of the Zeo powers will forever have a big question mark over it.

Just watched Forever Red on youtube, finally. Best episode since the original show :D so much fun & the action/choreography was amazing before they morphed while fighting the goons/putty monsters (whatever they are called in Wild Force), beat the pants off a lot of films & the fact it looked like 99% was done by the actual actors, just wow.

Indeed. . . but the Psychos are dead, unfortuantely. But they will remain in memory as badass villains, and one of the things that made IS great.

From what I heard, ut was originally planned for, but scrapped when they couldn't write a scene god enough for the concept and when the costumes for some of the Zords were unavailable (e.g. damaged over the years beyond repair)

God I watched this show on Youtube late one night when I couldn't sleep, specifically the evil Green Ranger episodes.

I enjoyed it for nostalgic reasons alone, but man was the show silly.

Zord battles use to be awesome, but they're getting increasingly lamer. It seems the zords no longer have any weight on them, like they've completely thrown physics out the window.

I only like Tommy as the Green/White ranger myself. Tommy was a worthless Red ranger, lol. Jason will always be the best leader/red ranger. At Morphicon last year (2007 I mean) Austin St. John was voted the best Red ranger.

Yeah, and sounded like him. I remember when I first saw, or heard the very first trailer for TDK just with the audio, Alfred's "Watch the world burn" one. It was a bootleg. And I was anticipating a different one. Remember that rumored trailer report with the Dent campaign with the tv and the tv shutting off to see a dark figure int he tv's reflection? He says something and starts to laugh. I was anticipating that one. I remember being so fired up to hear Ledger's voice. I heard it, and I thought it sounded like Beetlejuice. But then he laughed, and I'm like, "That's the best laugh I've ever heard from The Joker!"


I still wish they made that trailer that was rumored. It would of been so damn awesome.

I completely forgot about the Shogun Zords :o. They were pretty cool. It's always nice to see the other zords as equally useful as Red's. Regarding Wild Force, I hate it when a season has a kabillion zords. The Megazord usually ends up looking silly and impractical.

Disney has ruined the show, if you ask me. It just hasn't been the same since they acquired the rights from Fox in 2002. With such notable exceptions as Forever Red (WF), Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder (the entire series), the first half of SPD, and Once a Ranger (Overdrive), PR just doesn't appeal to me as well as it once did.

ShinkenBlue:
Takes the position of Red's vassal very seriously, and has planned to be a Shinkenger for some time.


ShinkenGreen:
Creates strategies that surprise the enemy. However, he does not take being a Shinkenger that seriously, and this often causes him to knock heads with ShinkenRed.


ShinkenPink:
Gentle woman, with a strong mind who fights for her beliefs


ShinkenYellow:
She becomes ShinkenYellow in place of her sickly older sister. She has a fun, flexible character.


Kusaka Behikoba:
The man who raised ShinkenRed, and acts as a mentor to the 5 Shinkenger.



-Using the kanji-power "Mojikara", the Shinkenger fight against the Gaidoushuu, a force eminating from another world, and trying to invade this one.


-To transform, the Shinkenger write "変身"(Henshin) with their ShodouPhones. To make the OriGami giant, they write "折神の巨大化" (Make the OriGami giant). To combine into ShinkenOh, they write "変形合体" (Transformation Gattai). All this is done in brush mode.

-Each Ranger's ShinkenMaru can transform into their personal weapons when their personal Hiden Disks are inserted.

-The Gaidoushuu utilizes grunts known as "Nanashi" and "Ayakashi".

Played by: Matsuzaka Tori
The Samurai who manipulates the Kanji of Fire. He is the leader of the team, and the the 18th generation of the "ShibaKa" family. Raised and trained by Ji since childhood to become a Shinkenger. Expert swordsman, who boasts that there is no one who can match his prowess in the entire country. While he has a hot soul that seeks justice, he does not run off at the mouth, and is able to keep his cool. When his personal Hiden Disk is spun on his ShinkenMaru, it transforms into the giant sword "Rekka DaiZanto", which can only be used by him.

ShinkenBlue/Ikenami Ryunosuke
Played by: Hiroki Aiba
Samurai who manipulates the Kanji of Water. A serious young man whose desire to become a Samurai was instilled in him by his parents, while he wanted to become a Kabuki actor. His serious attitude causes him to seem aloof and antisocial. Above all, he is undeniably loyal to Shiba. He pierces through enemies using his bow-and-arrow weapon, called the "WaterArrow" which is transformed his ShinkenMaru when his personal Hiden Disk is spun on the sword.

Played by: Suzuki Shogo
Samurai who manipulates the Kanji of Wood. Unlike ShinkenBlue, he considers the fact that he must be a vassal and follow Shiba as his lord, stupid. While the other Shinkenger are fairly versed in the use of Martial Arts and MoChikara, he sort of abandoned his training early. While he is much more immature than the others, he also possesses a cheerful and honest character. By spinning his personal Hiden Disk on the ShinkenMaru, he transforms the sword into a long-spear, known as the "WoodSpear".

ShinkenYellow/Hanaori Kotoha
Played by: Morita Suzuka
Samurai who manipulates the Kanji of Land. A pure girl who was working as a bamboo-crafts maker, when her sister became ill, and so she was chosen to replace her as ShinkenYellow. Her very obedient character is both a great strength, and a great fault. Skillfill in martial arts, and happens to be an expert whistler. When her personal Hiden Disk is spun on the ShinkenMaru, it transforms into a giant shuriken, known as the "LandSlicer".

ShinkenPink/Shiraishi Mako
Played by: Takanashi Rin
Samurai who manipulates the Kanji of Heaven. Graceful, truthful, and fight for her ideals. Before becoming a Shinkenger, she worked part-time at a Kindergarten, having an affinity for kids. When she spins her personal Hiden Disk on the ShinkenMaru, it turns into a fan, known as the "HeavenFan", at which she is sensational at using to strike down the enemy.

Played by: Ibuki Goro
The Samurai, "Ji" who raised ShinkenRed. When he realizes that the GaiDouShuu are reviving, he calls out to 4 vassals to join with Shiba as the Shinkenger. The team nicknames him "Ji".

WHAT ARE THE SHINKENGER?
The Shinkenger are a group of people whose powers are passed down from generation to generation. The proof of this power is in the Emblem that each Shinkenger carries. The Shinkenger and the GaiDouShuu have been fighting each other since ancient times, but the modern Shinkenger were called forth because leaders of the GaiDouShuu that had been sealed away, were reviving. Traditionally, the team is composed of a Lord (red) and 4 vassals to serve under him (blue, green, yellow and pink.) However, this modern team is a far cry from the way things used to be...

GEDOUSHUU:
Beings from a stygian world between this one, and the world of the dead, who take the shape of ocean-dwelling creatures. An infamous group, consisting of the Nanashi grunts, Ayakashi soldiers, and 3 executives. Their purpose is to rule this world and interupt humanity's peace. By attacking people, they can allow more of their kind into the world, and begin to rule it at a much quicker pace...

ChiMatsuri Dokouku:
Boss-General of the GeDouShuu. A being who is often angry and dissatisfied for no reason at all, and even cruel to his own companions. Drinks sake often, which restrains his anger.

Hone no ****ari:
Creates strategies for the GeDouShuu to see if man is up to their challenge. In truth, humanity is merely a research project to him

Usukawa Taiyuu:
An aide to the GeDouShuu, and the only one that Doukouku is sweet towards. Likes collecting beautiful things because she is beautiful. Plays the samisen often, but it is never played well.

The Ayakashi:
Old spirits that have taken these horrific forms from living in the Stygian. Each Ayakashi has two-sets of eyes, which can be used to make them grow large. This can be done, even if the monster has been destroyed.

The Nanashi Renchuu:
The GeDouShuu's grunts. There is a group of Nanashi known as the DaiNanashi, who are naturally born giant.

I have spokne to Cheryl Saban, who while is not involved in the production anymore, has heard that the series is coming to a close. She says it's had a good run, and it's too bad that it has to end. But, on the positive side, she's right. It did have a good run.... 600 episodes, now that's pretty good, and I'm impressed.... who knows though..... stuff happens... so... don't take this word as final.

Cheryl is a wonderful lady. She has become a strong influence in my life.... And I take her word as gold. But again, who knows what the future has in store. A Disney Executive has told me that this is only semitrue, and it's unconfirmed, but RPM will be the last LIVE ACTION Power Rangers series from Disney.

Eddie Guzzelian speaks out on recent developments

Hello. The very first meeting I ever had with Disney on the show, they told me flat out that Jungle Fury was supposed to have been the final season of Power Rangers. I don't remember the circumstances exactly, but something involving foreign financing or issues with the toy company had already begun moving forward and put them in a position of being obligated to to go ahead with the RPM season. I guess people familiar with following the show have become used to hearing this every year, but I took it to be true.

Because it was the final season of the show, the executives at Disney pushed me to shoot for something that was ambitious. They told me to "swing for the fences" and often reminded me that, because the show was essentially already cancelled, I had "nothing to lose."

The accounts that paint me as some kind of renegade producer who went rogue and ran off to produce some overly ambitious personal vision against Disney's wishes are all completely untrue and absurd. Disney approved a verbal pitch for what I wanted to do with the season before I was even hired. They approved a written bible that pretty much outlined exactly what the show became. They approved every script and saw rushes from shooting every day. And not only did they approve this take of the series, they demanded it and pushed me on a daily basis to pursue my new vision of the show.

At no time did I ever ask for more money to make the show and at no time did Disney tell me that I could not afford the version of the show that I was trying to make.

Also, the stories circulating that I did not listen to Disney's creative notes or refused to communicate with them are all completely false. I was in constant communication with Disney execs through out the process and cannot honestly think of a single major creative decision that was made with out their knowledge and approval. If anything, I felt like I had a very close and creatively collaborative relationship with the show's execs, which made it even more difficult for me to understand how they ultimately chose to handle my termination..

The PR adaption was considered bad. It was the beginning of PR's huge decline under Bruce Kalish.... who was the driving force to PR's upcoming cancellation.

I would say after PRLG(Power Rangers Lost Galaxy), PR went into a huge hit-and-miss fest with its series:

-PRLR(Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue) was one of the worst PR series and I think that had a large part to do with the cast and the acting for me.

+PRTF was good and overall was a solid PR series; it was definitely one of the darker PR Series. It was a good attempt to make PR more grown up.

-+PRWF(Power Rangers Wild Force) was a hit-and-miss series itself; there were some things I liked and some I didn't.

+PRNJ(Power Rangers Ninja Storm) With it's literal change of scenery (New Zealand) you knew you weren't in Angel Grove anymore. I liked PRNS because it was able to blend light-hearted comical relief with action. It was its own PR series, original and had a cast that had good chemistry. NS definitely had one of my favorite Power Teams.

+PRDT(Power Rangers Dino Thunder) was old and new together. Tommy was our link to the past and the new Rangers were the present. This cast had good chemistry as well; I feel Trent could've been developed more though as well as Tommy's rivalry with "Smitty". PRDT had a good beginning and a good ending. IMHO DT was a hit.

-+PRSPD was another hit-and-miss but one of the more enjoyable one's of the bunch. I liked the cast, plot and direction but it suffered from boring filler episodes and failed to flesh out the A-squad saga; I think they could've been utilized better if they were brought back earlier.

-PRMF(Power Rangers Mystic Force) just didn't do a thing for me; the cast just didn't appeal to me at all. I taped mostly every episode but only remember a handful. It's a forgetable PR Series IMO. I would've liked if they fully explained how Rita became Magic Mother personally; that should have been an episode in itself IMO.

-PROO (Power Rangers Operation Overdrive) I think I just had a problem with all these people (rich men, secret covert schools) tapping into the Morphing Grid and creating Power Rangers as if it was nothing. The cast also did nothing for me they were just cliche personalities written on paper. The only thing good about this show was the teamup with the past PR characters and even certain aspects of that was handled cheaply; how did Alpha 6 end up back on Earth in a crate in Angel Grove? Wasn't he last seen on Mirinoi? What Power coin was Adam morphing with Mastodon or Black Ninja Coin? And how is that possible? I know ...I know it's a kids show and they're not thinking in that deep of details...wish they would sometimes though.

PRJF.... I've taped just about every episode of PR ever and I only have the first three eps of JF. I really stop caring around PRMF; I haven't seen PRJF but what I have seen doesn't impress me...sorry.

PRRPM looks interesting and original; I'll give it a chance but I don't know if I'll tape it which is jaw-dropping for me and those who know I love PR. I've been waiting for PR's eventual end but not eagerly though. If this is it, all I can say is it's been helluva fun for me. I'm a PR devotee and I've watched the show since it started in 93'; I was 12 years old at the time and I grew up with it. My favorite series: MMPR, PRIS & PRNS. I'll always be a Power Ranger Fan.

1) That kind of finale was already done in Countdown to Destruction.

2) Not every actor and actress wants to go back to PR, if given the chance.

3) Thuy Trang, the actress for Trini Kwan, the original Yellow Ranger, died in a car crash in 2001.

In addition. . . I want the Phantom Ranger/Cassie plotline to be wrapped up, as originally planned in Countdown, but producers cut that idea out to save time.

I agree with ya CBG although C2D IMHO was kind of a wrap up for the Zordon era. I'm right there with you on the resolution of Cassie and Phantom Ranger; that was a good little side story wasn't it? But I was always hoping they hook her up with T.J.

Yeah loved that ep brought loads of memories :) I think to me Dino Thunder was the 2nd best PR spin off, it had the heart and soul of the old days and had Tommy in too :) the ep "Back In Black" was great also cause it had Tommy vs the Green Ranger, and White Ranger and Red Zeo Ranger, good timesss

Power Rangers has been filmed here since 2003, providing jobs for many local actors and production crew. Photo / Glenn JeffreyA long-running US children's television series, which is filmed in New Zealand and employs local actors and production crew, is about to be dropped.

Since 2003, Disney-owned Power Rangers has been filmed in several spots around Auckland, including Vector Arena, Drury and Bethells Beach.

Its American production company, Ranger Productions, has a base in the Glen Eden Studio West buildings.

Filming for the 17th season, Power Rangers RPM, began in September and the 32 episodes are due to screen from today in several countries but not New Zealand.

It was cancelled here in 1993 when the Broadcasting Standards Authority deemed it too violent.

The production manager for the show, Sally Campbell, told the Weekend Herald that "at this stage we will not be shooting another season".

Several New Zealand actors have starred in one of the show's six New Zealand seasons, including Sunrise host Oliver Driver, Outrageous Fortune's Antonia Prebble, Go Girls' Anna Hutchison and former Shortland Street stars Miriama Smith, Katrina Devine and Tandi Wright.



Actor Charlie McDermott, who has done the voiceover work for the General Crunch character for this year, told the Weekend Herald he had not been told about the cancellation.

"It's a bit of a bummer. These big-budget American companies have got millions and they're using our studios. I'd say it would be the actors who lose out the least. It's all the camera guys, the sound, editing suites ...

"But [the Americans] are used to paying a lot more than they pay us, that's why they come here, their dollar goes a lot further. And they have it down pat. Once you've been here for a while you really refine your processes and make some money."

The Power Rangers contract is worth a substantial amount to post-production companies Digipost, which edits the video, and Inside Track, which produces all the sound effects.

I watched most but not all of the season premiere of PR:RPM on Youtube; from what I saw it has a more darker, almost non-power ranger like feel, which is good. It seems to be a very original PR series and the actors are from decent to pretty good in the acting dept. I'll tune in.

C2D was a proper ending wasn't it? When PRIS ended I thought it was the end of PR; I had no internet access at the time and I didn't find out PR was continuing until I saw a sweepstakes or some kind of promo for PRLG using Sentai footage. Needless to say I was happy.

if the sales figures don't support producing any more seasons why would they??

that's the one thing most people don't get when it comes to TV on DVD...especially with a show lasting more than 4 seasons....if they release season 1 or 2 and the sales numbers suck, why bother spending the money to produce subsequent seasons??

Dillon is the best . I kinda wish he was the Red Ranger so far Scott Truman hasn't shown why he was chosen to become the Red Ranger in the first place other than the fact Colonel Mason Truman is his father .

So far all Scott is the cocky team leader of the RPM team .

Flynn has potential to be a great character too.

Scott has a good story setup.

They're going to do Lost-style flashback episodes for the original three rangers.

And they seem to be setting up Dillion/Summer and Ziggy/Tenaya

When producer Sally Campbell, Eddie G, Dan Ewing, Cheryl Saban etc all say the show is ending, you know theres some legitimacy there.

I hope we get another year, but its looking bleak.

Disney wanted PR to end with JF, but the wheels of RPM were too far in gear by then.


And Disney turned down the animated PR idea. The proposal didnt 'wow' them. An MMPR-based animated pilot was made in rough for them.
