I can't believe it's been 17 years since MMPR appeared on our TV screens, damn I feel old.
Old? Ancient is better. . . especially if you watched the original Sentai series.

No dude.
We got recent confirmation afterwards on rangerboard and henshinjustice.
The Bandai toyline will continue but the TV Show is dead.
They'll be shutting down production forever soon.

Well, if this is the last season then I think they need to start dishing out some MMPR DVDs. None of that "best of" crap, or is Disney just too petty to do it?
Disney won't pay the money.

Marcus Truman?
I think he's gone for good, unless Vengix rebuilts his body as a machine in "Brother's Keeper"
But if he didnt eject, there's no way he could survived that.
Plus the episode sets in motion Scott stepping into his brother's shoes finally; it would be anticlimactic to bring him back unless it's done really well.

I think that's made from scratch. The american rangers always have those, what do you call it, latches I think, on their helmets.
There are two types of helmet for both sentai and PR's
The helmets with latches are the "stunt helmets" they can get nicks and scratches etc.
The "hero helmets" have no latches and they're mostly used for close ups and all the stuff that doesn't require them to be beaten up.
The same principal goes for "stunt car" and "hero car". Stunt cars do the brutal stuff while the hero car looks nice.

Dig my avvy! :woot: Everyone else get one.
Question; in the rearly years when the Rangers still had the Morphers, and when they upgraded from the Dinozord to the Thunderzords, Ninja and so on...why the hell didn't they call out their new animal when morphing?
Example; Red Ranger's "Tyrannosaurus!" call should have turned into "Red Dragon!" and whatnot. Also, why did Tommy have to say "Zord" when he morphed? Why "Dragonzord!" and "Tigerzord!"..and not just Dragon or White Tiger?

Maybe because 'dragon' is only 2 syllables, and it would sound funny? I don't know. But he does say 'White Tiger' in the movie though.
Well, they later changed it to "(colour) Ranger Power!"

Check this out: http://www.rangercrew.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10334Yeah I read about this on Toonzone. This is good news and bads news. Bad news first. This most likely does mean RPM is the last season with Disney just wanting to save money and selling this as new show to kids. The good news. Disney wouldn't go to all this trouble just to re-air it on tv. This means that bandia might be taking those Super Legends toys and making a whole new line of remakes of old figures to accompany the re-airing, and the best new season sets are going to be on the way.

Yeah Kamen Rider Decade VS Samurai Sentai Shinkenger. Tonight's the conclusion of the team up
You can download the subbed Kamen Rider episode 24 from Nihon
http://tvnihon.com/
The episode was primarily on the Kamen Rider side while Shinkenger took the week off.

Then Kamen Rider Decade enters the alternate universe of Kamen Rider Black RX. Kamen Rider Decade has been traveling through the 9 Kamen Rider worlds.
http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/7622/1247826993517.jpg
Kamen Rider Decade was scheduled to only have 30 episodes but they've extend it by 2 or 4 episodes

Power Rangers? Let me explain...Power Rangers was a television program that debuted in 1993 and featured five to six teenagers who's destiny was to protect the world from aliens, demons, mutants, orgs (beings created through man's pollution), and cyborgs. Almost every year a new ranger replaces an old ranger or even a whole team is replaced with new suits and weapons though they most likely will meet in a team-up with the current team in the coming year.
After awhile show became dumb and lame.

Power Rangers is quickly going down hill. Disney is milking everything the series has since Saban left just for toys are what not. The stories are awful. Theres no continuation in the series' disney has brought out. And the actors are all New Zealand or British. And since when does everyone know who the power rangers real identities are?? Disney is ruining it. I wish they just gave reruns of the MMPR through PRIS.

yea from what i read disney was not allowed to change the theme song or the battle music for this rerelease of MMPR. I would love to have dvd set of mmpr 1-3 and through space season.

It's a shame the show is over for good now after 17 years. Disney is against the idea of doing any more, we were lucky we got RPM at least.
And Disney will never sell the rights, that's not how they operate. So R.I.P. Power Rangers.

As a fan I want it to. But as a rational human being the idea Disney will try again is doubtful.
From all the stuff I've been reading about this season, it doesn't sound like Disney wants to do it again.
-Power Rangers doesn't fit on any of their channels. Theres Disney XD of course but, live action, action shows for kids have failed there so far. As Arron Stone was caned.
-Disney wanted more control on what Toei was doing as each season was getting harder for Disney to work around what they were doing. Toei wouldn't give.
-NZ is started to cost more.
-The toys are no longer selling.
-Most ABC affialtes refuse to air it.
-And Disney is much for second chances. As most second chances they give fail.
Hell, Disney didn't even want to own Power Rangers in the first place. It was just apart of the deal for Eisner's mad plan to buy Fox Family. Only reason they kept paying for it was that it did well at the time. Now, if the MMPR reruns fail(most likely will:csad:). Disney will just wash their hands of the franchise, and forget they owed it.

It should have ended years ago. What Disney is doing now is good. Give the franchise a rest and rely on the old episodes for a while. The original fanbase hasn't cared about PR since 1997. Kids these days don't really care either. Giving it some time off and then returning it with some hype is the way to go.

Honestly the series shoulve ended once Saban left, Disney commercialized the franchise even more to the point where there was no story just toys, I'm glad they're going back to mmpr because they knew they screwed up with the rest. I think they should start a series in a few years but maybe continue with a series that has characters like alpha and maybe zordon isn't around but the rangers still follow what zordon left behind and what not, I'm in my late twenties but when I see what my little nephews up watching aren't real power rangers. It's amazing to see the difference of the saban pr and Disney pr.

They aren't just giving the franchaise a rest.
They're burying it. They wanted PR cancelled after Junglefury but the investments were already made for RPM.
Disney sees Power Rangers as a bad investment they aren't interested in anymore. They strongly dislike the idea of adapting a series from Japan they have no control over.
They tried to make a deal with TOEI where they'd have control over the sentai version but it angered TOEI....
That's the main reason why PR is dead now. It's very unlikely we'll see them adapting another sentai for the US.

...I remember watching up to Turbo in the late 90s...then they started doing the Space season/stories IIRC...I kinda watched those, I wasn't really interested/invested because of the different characters, I just couldn't get into or force myself to get into it, so I skipped the series till the Ninja Storm series......I watched most of the Ninja Storm season of what?...that was at least 02-03...I thought that one was okay, I actually loved it, and was sad when that era ended...and since then I might have watched an ep or two of the other seasons...so what have I missed the last few years.
Goodness time flies...Goldar and Rita were my favorite PR villain(s) of all time......what was the name of the Sphynx-monster...I remember having the figure of that character...

yea from what i read disney was not allowed to change the theme song or the battle music for this rerelease of MMPR. Only thing changing is maybe a new opening credits video, and what ever is the remastering going to entail. As for box sets man it would be cool for the nostalgia factor for some fans. I would love to have dvd set of mmpr 1-3 and through space season.

Maybe, but still highly doubtful. If they want a superhero movie with teenagers they just have to yell down the hall now and say,"Joe Q what do ya got!" Besides Disney never wanted a Power Ranger show after Wild Force, don't think they're going to want a movie. Least not till someone who grew up with the show, somehow gains power in the company and makes that decision.

Would it be so hard to just recreate the franchise without using Japanese footage? Honestly, if a company took that on things would be so much free, Just recreate the suits and everything but follow the same storyline from the beginning. I hate the fact we just rely on the japanese footage. Why cant they just do what they did with the Titanium ranger in lightspeed rescue, they created that ranger just for the american version.
Ive created a concept for my vision of a recreated power rangers franchise first starting with the mighty morphin green ranger. please tell me what u think, and please tell me more about my idea

The story is confirmed.
In a hidden dimension humans can't see, named "Gosei World", there are mortals called "Gosei Angels". They possess super power called Gosei Power that no human has, which can only be used to protect the Earth and mankind. Unknown to humans, they had been protecting the Earth from harmful elements. To defend the Earth from invading enemies, the Gosei Angels use a passageway called "Tower of Sky" to travel from the Gosei World and the surface.
However an invading enemy group called "War Star" is invading the Earth and destroyed the Tower of Sky passageway. With the passageway blocked, the Gosei Angels are unable to reach the surface. Without the Gosei Angels, will the Earth be destroyed by these invaders?
However at this time five young and immature Gosei Angels happen to visit the human world, are standing up against the devils to protect the Earth. They are the hero, Goseigers!

GoseiHeaders.
Sea Tribe Headers: MantaHeader (Manta Ray), HammerHeader (Hammer Head Shark), and SawHeader. (Sawfish) The heads can be swapped out for GoseiShark's.
GoseiGreat can combine with the 3 Seakku headers to become "Seakku GoseiGreat", where the Hammer and Sawfish attach to GoseiGreat's hands, and MantaHeader forms a new head, with a shark-based design, resembling CaptainShark.
Land Tribe Headers: A set of GoseiHeaders including the StagHeader (male deer), TyrannoHeader, and DigHeader (Rhinoceros), that can be swapped with either GoseiSnake and GoseiTiger. StagHeader belongs to GoseiSnake, as does Tyranno (orange in color). DigHeader, which is yellow, belongs to Tiger.
GoseiGreat can combine with these headers to become "Landic GoseiGreat". Stag forms the new head, while Tyranno and Dig swap out with Snake and Tiger to become feet. The SnakeHeader and TigerHeader are then rejoined at the knees.
Sky Tribe Headers: A set of GoseiHeaders including EagleHeader, PteraHeader (Pteranodon, winged reptile) and crow, that can be swapped with GoseiDragon and GoseiPhoenix.
GoseiGreat can unite with these 3 headers to form Skykku GoseiGreat. Here, the 3 headers unite into a giant crown-n-shoulder cannons, with the Ptera and crow uniting on GoseiGreat's shoulder, and the Eagle making up the head.

So the 34th series is gonna be adapted? I thought that disney was done with power rangers?
No it won't be adapted but I thought i'd just give a heads up on what's happening over seas.
With Disney going back and redoing MMPR season 1, there's chance they'll go all the way to season 3. So odds are nothing will be adapted for 3 years.
You know what would earn my respect from Disney?
A Power Rangers remake of the first season. Get some of their little Disney kids, add in their tween drama and put up fight scenes and sfx once or twice and episode to go along with it. I would then say: "Disney, you are clearly plugging your greatest resources and most brilliant minds into this project, you have my respect." MMPR would be relevant, at least to the next generation, which would be nice.
This? I could do this... I mean... really... this is a five man project TOPS. This level of shameless recycling is painful to me. It reminds me of the other day I saw the same GI Joe figures in the store that my mom had bought me 20 years ago. Same molds, same coloring. Same packaging in some cases. That makes me sad. Sure the kid who gets it won't care, but this creative bankruptcy is... just sad. Sad, sad, sad.

I'd actually like for Disney to take the PR license and build their own thing with it....kind of take the formula from "Secret Life of the American Teenager" or "Greek" and mix it with Power Rangers
Man of Tomorrow

but you know what those shows are??...hits for ABC Family and their demographic....
Man of Tomorrow
01-26-2010, 09:13 AM
Except they are teen dramas targeted for little girls.
That's pretty much the antithesis of Power Rangers.
BlackLantern
01-26-2010, 09:16 AM
when it comes to Disney, I've learned the demographic is whateve Disney says it is
or put it on Disney XD, but I would like to see Disney do something NEW with this license....no remastering, no remaking....just do their own version (if the rights allow for that)
Man of Tomorrow
01-26-2010, 09:35 AM
That would be nice, but the fact is Disney is the one who decided they wanted it over.
Doing their own version without sentai footage would be too costly, they're cheap when it comes to how much they want to spend on this series.
And their deal with TOEI is over, Disney pissed TOEI off by trying to push for creative control over the sentai.
At this point, there really is no viable or likely way to bring Power Rangers back under Disney, that's the main reason why the fans are upset.. it's plainly obvious that Disney will sit on the rights without using them.
The MMPR 'remastered' reruns being an epic fail isn't helping matters. If anything it's hurting the chances of ever getting some kind of MMPR remake.
BlackLantern
01-26-2010, 09:39 AM
here's my thing, the original was just American footage cut in with the Japanese footage anyway....so it was bootleg to begin with....
I liked PR for what it was, but I'm not putting it up on a pedastal like some here seem to
Just release DVDs/BRs of ALL the PR seasons. No ridiculous Disney edits and inserts -- just update the visuals and be done with it.
That'll make me like Disney's PR.

Jean Claude VS...........JDF?
TMZ
Jean-Claude Van Damme -- the most badass fighting sensation of the 90s -- just got challenged to an MMA fight by a guy who used to fight puppets in spandex ... all over an incident from 15 years ago. The guy issuing the challenge is former White Ranger Jason David Frank, who tells TMZ, he's had it out for Van Damme ever since 1995 when the Muscles from Brussels -- who had been Frank's childhood hero -- allegedly blew him off during the premiere of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie." As TMZ previously reported, Frank is now a scary-looking MMA fighter who has a fight next weekend in the Octagon -- and Van Damme is reportedly looking to make his own pro fighting debut ... so the timing couldn't be better for Frank to settle the score. Frank claims he'll take Van Damme "anytime, anyplace, anywhere" -- and "if [Van Damme's] too scared to come into the Octagon, I'll even take him on in a kickboxing match." So far, no comment from Van Damme's camp.

That series wouldnt be half bad, imo they should bring back another cast member from mmpr like maybe jason or billy as a mentor or a leader in the background, that'd be cool. Thats if they ever do power rangers again.
Cant anyone just do their own power rangers series? Exactly why do we have to take the japanese version and use that when sometimes it doesnt even make sense? Cant they just create a unique series that still is a continuity of after lost in space series, i think that'd be cool. Cause we never really saw how exactly the bad guys came back after zordon sacrificed himself.
