How long have you been a fan deathshead? See when you've devoted roughly one day/night a week for 13 years all the while maintaining a website, going to discussion forums, chatting with other fans online through instant messenging, record every episode, buying merchandice, and actually giving reasons for why "s.P.D. R0x mY s0X errr thANg is teh Sux0rs".

Lets see the show started in 93 so I was 3 at the time started watching then.I have seen every episode,saw both movies,went to the live show. Watched the spinoff. Owned the toys but not until space came out cus I had no idea they had toys when it first came out.I try to buy the toys mostly the older ones I buy as many video tapes of the show I can. Download the episoodes sense my cable provider took toon disney off.
Watch it everytime I see it on tv. I have been going to cons and websides and other places to find toys and older thing. And for the past 3 years have been tring to join rangerboard but they won't let me. I would really like to join but I don't know what i'm fdoing wrong. Even if a season is bad I still watch it. SPD restored my hope of a good power rangers show. Sense I really hated NS,WF and DT

I really hated it to much forced humor and I knew I would hate it as soon as I heard tommy was going to be in ti. Why because they knew it would win back fans but I did like the evil white ranger that was cool if they just kept him evil longer I would have loved it.

lol that's what got me back into it,I started stopped watching after In Space mainly because the original Continuity ended.Then I saw the previews to Dino Thunder and started watching that.Then I went back and saw Ninja Storm and Time Force(and some of Lost Galaxy & Lightspeed).

As far storylines, SPD did follow a lot of the Sentai storyline, except for the Magnificence thing and Grumm, who didn't exist in Dekaranger. A lot of the stories for the episodes though were straight from Sentai. Sam part 1 and 2 had a Sentai counterpart. As did Abridged.

The whole Kat Ranger thing was just the DekaSwan episode.

Only difference was that DekaBreak (Omega) was a human and fans actually liked him. Oh, and DekaBright (Nova) actually kicked some ass in her episode instead of just standing there.

There was no Countdown in Sentai as each Sentai show is seperate and the only time a villain ever returns in the team up. And no, Dekaranger was not in the future.

Don't forget Mora/Morgana were original, though if I'm not mistaken she's based off of the main villain from Abaranger? Although I don't know much about Sentai because I don't like it all that much, I do have some limited knowledge about it. A few shows take place in the future (like Ohranger, or their Zeo). Now shows like Seasons 1-3, Zeo, Turbo, Space, Lost Galaxy, Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder were COMPLETELY different from their source. Battilizers, team-ups (exceptions are "Rangers of Two Worlds" and "Trakeena's Revenge" to a degree because they used Sentai footage and it wasn't completely original), finales (exceptions are Time Force and Wild Force's finales), special villains (the only exception is Bansheera and Rita, all the other villains are ORIGINAL), and even occasionally special rangers (which only six rangers have been original) are all usually for the most part completely original. Mystic Force might be different from Magiranger, it looks like it just by the magical creatures.

wow, I remember that how. I used to love it, but after a couple years and watching all the episodes, it kinda got boring. but after the first power rangers, each other PR team got worse than the one before. oh how horrid the newer ones are, I think they should've stopped after the first rangers.

That footage is from a movie, the movies are not part of the footage package that they receive and are purchased seperately from the episodes. The only two times this was done was during Zeo with "Ohranger vs Kakuranger" for "Rangers Of Two Worlds" and during Lightspeed with "GoGoV vs Gingaman" for "Trakeena's Revenge". The first was the departure of Billy, which would most likely explain why the decided to purchase the footage and the latter was originally a movie released outside of the show and would explain that. Because out of the total amount of team-ups of 11 in number, only 2 has contained Sentai footage of a team-up. This makes the occurance of a Sentai based team-up to be really unlikely.

It's strange. On Jetix on ABC Family they'll show every season of Power Rangers on PR Generations yet for some reason they won't show Time Force or Wild Force. I wonder why that is, being that those are the only seasons I haven't seen.

Ok this year in Japan and next for USA will be the year for treasure hunting. Why? Cause that is the theme for 2006 Japan/2007 Usa power rangers. From Wikipedia:

I used to love the Mighty Morphn' Power Rangers when I was a kid, but stopped watching it after the first two seasons.

I kinda got back into it when Ninja Storm was on (anything ninja related captures my interest.) and was able to catch an ep or two. I think the writing and the acting on this series has gotten better since the old days.

I watched a huge chunk of Dino Thunder, enjoying it more than I expected to, and think Mystic Force looks pretty good as well (anything involving magic tends to capture my interst as well ^-^).

At this stage, I'd say I'm a casual veiwer. If it's on, and I'm interested, I'll watch it.

Forever Red is such a good idea for an episode. The story is good but the idea is some what...."epic". If ya know what I mean. It's like All the different Flashes from DC comics joining together or Bruce Wayne and terry Mcginins from Batman Beyond fighting together.

speaking of forever red, does anyone know what the super sentai version of that episode is like and do all the original japanese actors come back for it, i would like to see how it compares to the westernised version.

I hadn't watched PR in so long, but then I started watching Dino Thunder, and it was pretty cool. Just like the original, it had highschool students, which gives you the superhero hidden identy kinda thing.

I thought the exact same thing. But once I watched about the 4th Episode I really started to like it. And once I saw Episode 12 it turned into one of my favorite Sentai Seasons.

I could understand if they were from a place like the U.K. where each season of a show is called a series, but if they were from a place like the United States then they need to use the correct term of season, not series or spin-off.

I saw it. I thought it was pretty cool. The acting was a lot better this time than in the SPD premier, although it did get better as the show went on. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.

And Dekaranger was pretty hot anyway. :)

Dude SPD was garbage though, even the fanbase thought so..since it was written and produced by newbies.

If you like black people, watch Lightspeed Rescue...Joel makes that series into something genious.

TF did break the stale pattern of PR series, its premise was a PR series where everything went wrong; villian overpowers the heroes, red ranger is killed in the first episode, rangers lost in time etc... It was pretty engaging and had the best balance of seriousness and maturity..with humor.

Disney goes overboard with the 'attempts' at humor when its usually forced and rarely funny.

Whou mystic force much better than I thought it would be. Man knight wolf makes the first episode so much better he is so badass. I must buy his toy. Everything else the episode was bla but the opening fight seen was cool, made it fell alot like mystic knights of tir na nog. I miss the times when saban made the show sense each season got a little bit more darker. Time force showed death and wild force talked about murder. But then disney had to get it and make it full of force humor with ninjas. If saban had it ninja storm would have been great. Also im part of the fandom and I really enjoyed S.P.D.

Well it looks like they a new plot device for the last couple of generations of the powers ranges. The Red Ranger not wanting to join at first. It started with dino thunder and continued to mystic force.

The same thing happened in Magiranger. MagiRed wasn't given his powers until toward the end of the episode when he ran in to save the others.

In the Dekaranger, Ban wasn't on the team until the end of the first episode as he was stationed on another planet and had to travel to Earth.

In Zyuranger Geki (I think he was Red/Tyranno) was still locked in his pod (for lack of a better term) and the key broke. He only came in to save the rest of the Zyurangers toward the end of the first episode.

So it's not just Power Rangers. Usually Red is either the first or the last to get his powers.

The old chick as the White Ranger will probably become her again towards the end. It's kind of like Doggie Krueger and Kat Manx from SPD, just older.

In Japan yellow was predominantly a MALE color. In Zyuranger (MMPR), Dairanger (season 2 monsters/zords), Kakuranger (Alien), Gingaman (Lost Galaxy), GoGoV (Lightspeed Rescue), Timeranger (Time Force), Gaoranger (Wild Force), Hurricanger (Ninja Storm), and Magiranger (Mystic Force)had a male as yellow, but for all except the Alien Rangers and Ninja Storm, they were female in the United States.

In the 14 Sentai series made into PR, yellow was a man in 9 of them. And that's not counting the rest of the series pre-Zyuranger.

Saban owned Power Rangers, MMPR Productions INC produced it, and Fox acted as the distributor. Saban was the one who sold the show, not Fox, Fox only sold Fox Family when Saban sold his shares of the network. Disney now owns the show and acts as the distributor and Ranger Productions currently does it now. Also the story editor and one of the executive producers are from the SABAN era of Power Rangers and two past executive producers were also from the SABAN era. Disney doesn't put its own finger in the jar, instead they have a exec on set, this person is named Jermaine Turner and is a huge fan of the show. Nothing is being done out of spite or whatnot. If it was Saban who owned the show currently and everything is as it is now (casts, stories, etc) you would have no complaints.

I'll rephrase: In 9 of the 15 Sentai series (Zyuranger-Boukenger), yellow was a man in Japan. In 6 of the 15 series in America, yellow became a female (I think my math is right on that one).

No, deathshead, it has been my observation that if Ninja Storm was still Ninja Storm or Dino Thunder was still Dino Thunder a lot of anti-Disney fans would praise Saban for doing it, even if there no changes in story, cast, etc. People just have a bias against Disney because they can't "update" theirselves because it doesn't feel the same because another company produces it. It has something to do with the fact that you connect more to the Saban produced seasons because it was Saban whom you grew up with, not Disney. But here's a thing, after ten years/seasons, Saban planned to sell the show regardless. He knew how long the show was going to go for and didn't plan on producing it that long. In 1994 what were the two companies he planned to sell it to? Nickoldean via MTV Networks (sp?) or Disney. Imagine that.

While A-Squad was never in Sentai, it simply doesn't matter, the fact that it was a male yellow ranger was. The entire scheme of A-Squad was odd because yellow was male and red was female.

They don't count because we were talking about Americanizing the actual Rangers that were in SENTAI. As I said, in 9 of the 14 series the yellow was a man, but here in 6 of those it was a woman.

A-Squad doesn't count because there weren't Americanized, they were original.

I don't like how we're starting to stray from colored rangers as the 6th member of the team. Instead of silver, green, gold, quantum and white; we get Ninjor, Blue Centurion, Magna Defender, Lunar wolf, etc.

Yes this is the first season since Zeo that the main/one of the main villain(s) hasn't been played by an actual actor.

I don't think Claire is going to be this year's Boom because I see her as being different. Sure she may have cast a spell that had the opposite effect that she desired, but she's learning and you learn from mistakes. She also thinks on a whole different level than Boom in my opinion by even asking a question that makes the mentor think about their decision.

Ninjor and the Blue Senturion were never sixth rangers, they filled the additional warrior position. Only 4 out of 15 additional/sixth rangers have actually had colors as part of their ranger name.

Wait so Blue is NOT a color and Quantum IS???

I'm pretty indifferent to whether they call the Lunar Wolf ranger the Silver Ranger or the Quantum ranger teh Crimson Ranger or the Blue Centurion the Dark Blue Ranger...

What I'd personally like to see is, instead of making as many rangers as possible we work on making each individual ranger interesting and entertaining...

So the Rangers actually are the Zords....that's new. I also noticed that Vida and Madison kinda remind me of Stef and Andy from The Goonies.

That was DekaGold in the movie. The one episode Dekaranger was DekaBright. Her costume was used in SPD for Nova Ranger.

DekaBright, however, did a hell of a lot more in her one episode than Nova Ranger did.
