I don't know if someone has already mentioned this, but the Power Rangers are actually 'sentai' japanese series. Saban and Disney keep most of the scenes with the robots and the suit-actors but delete all the scenes where the heroes appear unmasked (NB: The characters unmasked and in uniforms are usually played by two different actors, and most of the time, the heroins in costume are actually... stuntMEN) and replace them with scenes made with american actors. Most of the time, they change the storyline that ends up having nothing to do with the original show. And there have been even cases where they have mixed scenes from different shows in the same episode! I truly prefer the original japanese shows, especially because the original actresses are cuter:joker: My favorite is Nao Nagasawa who portrays Nanami Nono/Hurricaneblue in Hurricaneger (the original show for PR Ninja Storm). You know the guy who writes transformers simon furman right well I read something where he was talking about his new series and stuff he is writeing. Well one think he said was power rangers for the UK. I got all happy but then I thought it can't be true sense its proboly some weird UK comic using the name and has nothing to do with the show. I had some sweet idea that some fans would be against but over time would hate. Explane more about why the rangers wer chosne some more history of zordon. The bad guy would be zedd rather then rita. The 5 ranger wont all be friends at first Jason the jock would hand out with bulk and skull and pick on billy stuff like that. But over time sense they have to save the world they all become friends. Take them to other planets meet some Rangers from the future and have a much cooler green with evil.Also I would kill off some ranger make some rangers lose powers and possible gain new ones.

While I like Power Rangers, I don't know if it would be worth the investment of buying the sets. Though it would probably take them coming up for me to possibly buy them. But they better be dirt cheap. If a popular show like Charmed doesn't have extras, don't expect the rangers to have them either.

About the SPD's dogman (Doggie Krueger in the japanese version, don't know his name in the PR version), I'm wondering if the Japaneses weren't inspired by Kemlo Caesar of Alan Moore's 'Top 10'. Also, I like the chemistry between him and the beautiful Swan in the Japanese version, Doggie being serious and irascible while Swan is cheerful and impish.

I love the early seasons of Power Rangers, and i catch an episode of the new seasons here and there. The only new two that I watched faithfully was Ninja Storm, that was a really good season, and Dino Thunder because it had Tommy, and the teamup of the Ninja Storm Rangers and the Dino Thunder Rangers was awesome. And I like the one with all the Red Rangers too, that was pretty good.

I will not rate Mystic Force until the show is over. I watched the first four episodes and it was awesome. I enjoy it alot.

Magiranger is friggin' awesome and I'm surprised that no one has mentioned about Wolzard Fire. He has became a good and joined with Magiranger.

So far, I've seen the first three episodes of Boukenger. Man, it's good so far.

I love both Power Rangers and Super Sentai.

Watched the last Episode of Magiranger, I can't believe it's over. :( Kai finally started to kick serious amount of ass. And I'm gonna miss Wolzard.

The first subbed Episode of Boukenger has been released on TV-Nihon. The theme about Adventurers traveling all around the world in search of relics called "Precious", which possess great power, is quite interesting.

The new villain that appears in the first Episode is, how should I say it, he just sucks. The Episode was ok, I can't really judge how well the show will do. I already thought Magiranger would suck like no other season has sucked before, after watching the first 2 Episodes, and now it's one of my favorite seasons.

Seems it has aired already a while ago, but I just watched the first 2 Episodes of Mystic Force today. Would've watched it earlier if my Internet wasn't gone for like a month.

Since I started to watch the original Sentai runs I've been really biased towards the US version, to me the US counterparts always sucked compared to the original. Ninja Storm and SPD didn't really manage to convince me otherwise. Dino Thunder I didn't watch in either version.

So I was really surprised when I watched Mystic Force and it didn't suck. Except for the Theme Song that is. Hell, what were they thinking? And I think they managed to ruin my all time favorite Villain Wolzard. Why the **** does he laugh all the time or scream "Hail to the Master"? Wolzard is the calm speaking, honorable fighter, who serves his Master without resorting to ass kissing like "Hail to the Master".

Watched Magi vs. Deka and I'm really disappointed. The first half of the Movie we have Storytelling, the 2nd half is a total rush job.

The fight between Wolzard and Doggie Kruger was over in the blink of an eye, the whole transformation sequence barely lasted a minute since they all together made a group transformation. The mecha fight was just lame and lasted about 2 minutes. No dramatic fight against the Main villains of the Movie.

Doesn't compare to team-up specials like GoGoV vs. Timeranger or Gaoranger vs Hurricanger. It could've been so great but they wasted it.

He looks at General Buranken/Morticon and says calmy "Do not panic. It is unslightly." and "BAM!" shoots him with his shield and General Buranken/Morticon is on his knees.

And why the hell don't they show what and honorable fighter Wolzard actually is? When he fights with the Red Ranger alone in the Japanese version there's a kid around. To protect him the Red Rangers covers him with his body. Wolzard's sword strikes down and shortly stops over the Red Ranger's head. Or when General Buranken tells Wolzard to finish the Red Ranger of he response with "Acts of cowardice go against my principles."

Technically, Magiranger had 8 rangers (I'm not a Sentai fan, but I keep up with things like what certain things look like and the amount of rangers). Though Leelee most likely won't be part of any future rangers considering the fact that we have 7 of them filled now and the last one to be filled will be a guy. Though if you look at Leelee's name from the first episode, she says her name is Leelee Vampari and she wore a leather jacket in the most current episode, possibly foreshadowing the fact that she is the human Necrolai.

Why I think of Koragg the Wolf Knight is that they have kept something that was in Magiranger for use in Mystic Force. In the premiere when we're given a prelude, we see the red warrior, well he is wielding a sword that Koragg will later wield in his red mode, which means that Udonna and Koragg will share a past, similar to their Sentai counterparts from what I am told. This is good, it will be good to see that characters actually share a past, espcially on the side of good and evil. While S.P.D. had this between Gruumm and Cruger, it really lacked in many years.

I for the most part believe that so far this seaosn has a lot of promise and that it has really nice progress. When I watch Mystic Force it feels like an episode is a billion years old, while in S.P.D. it seemed like it was over as soon as it begun. We NEED good pacing like this. Sure in terms of the episodes the pacing is great, but in terms of developement, it is also great. Assuming they can keep this pace, both in episode and in season, the flow and continuity will be great.

Oh and I don't credit any success of Mystic Force to Kalish, I credit long time vetern Jackie Marchand who has recovered her position of story editor after five years, for some reason after Wild Force the position was abolished and most likely shared between her and one to two executive producers.

I agree with you 100% but this is based off the popularity of these characters with the fans on a whole...not just my own personal biases

I agree with you there. There really was no reason given why he was chosen as Red instead of Sky. I think one of the implied reasons was because Sky was arrogant, and answered Kruger's questions with (and I paraphrase) "Bridge isn't a leader" and Syd "is a girl."

But otherwise the character was in no way leadership material, especially in the way he more or less abandoned SPD for his charity thing at the end. Not that charity work is bad or anything, but he did essentially just up and leave.

It was easier in Dekaranger where Ban was already DekaRed, he was just stationed on another planet.

But he didn't lack a reason for ALL the members to follow or respect. Z already followed and respected. The rest didn't.

And the top 50 list above, Sam suffered from lack of character development. I guess it was because he was introduced so late into the series as Omega that there were no more episodes left to use to flesh out his character. And don't even get me started on the time travel aspect of his character and how, after Messenger (I think that's the episode title), he should've faded from existence.

SPD, in my opinion, would've thrived if they had the 50 episode run that Dekaranger had. There was just so many subplots running through SPD that 38 episodes wasn't enough, even if they replaced the filler with episodes that meant something.

From a design standpoint Zed gets number one. When I was eight I thought he was the creepiest villain I'd ever seen, until he started to act like a pansy like the rest of the villains. Ah, why do I remember his name? I've gotten sucked into this nostalgia fest of a bad show I should have forgotten years ago.

Most television shows do not make a good translation to the big screen due to the fact that some things have to be changed in order to look good on film such as story, costumes, sets, etc. The crap that goes to the cinemas in Japan such as the million Pokemon and Sentai movies would be the equal to our direct to video movies/sequels. If saving millions making a movie only to loose it when the film hits theaters as you have to pay just about everyone to do it and then not have revenue to pay yourself back hurts. It's called good business sense. Sure episode numbers have gone down recently, so I say as long as we get a good storyline and the episodes are of reasonable amount there is nothing to cry about. Remember even adult shows get 10 less episodes than we get for Power Rangers and they also don't get pretty much continous play for an entire year (when you think about it, we get only two months a year without a new episode whereas adult shows normally go from May to September without new episodes and possibly some time during the winter). Good business practices my friends, Disney is the #2 media company in the world for a reason. Power Rangers is one of their best properties right up there with Raven, Desperate Housewives, Lost, and Commander in Chief in terms of television.

Sure it may have been easy for Dekaranger to introduce DekaRed, but it was basically implied that the only remaining ranger/major outpost for S.P.D. and therefore, it would not have been that easy. How can I back this up? S.P.D. constantly not being able to send back up to New Tech City and Kat & Cruger's planets falling to Gruumm's forces.

Disney however is the #2 media company in the world and is very bureaucratic and they set forth certain things they want, they do this through the Disney exec on set named Jermaine Turner (who you can email at Jermaine.Turner@disney.com and express your dislike with recent episodes/seasons) who basically calls the shots for Power Rangers, he is the one who you need to blame. Well, I'm a hardcore fan of Sentai. Poweranimals' opinion doesn't even count because Power Rangers is more superior than Sentai.

I was a Sentai snob because I dislike Dino Thunder and I prefer Abaranger better.

IMO, both of them are good and nothing are superior. They are equal. Only equal.

I would like power rangers to stay a little bit away from Sentai. They take stuff from each other thats fine but I would like to see somewhat different fights and storys.

Neither of those two were released here. The US equivalent of the Bakurenoh, the Blizzard Force, is painted all wrong. The Bakurenoh was ice like in it's paint, the BF was blue and red with a green Pteradon.

The Brachios go for 70 to 100+ bucks on eBay and the Bakurenohs are hard to find. :mad:

Just watched the Magiranger Movie. Did anyone else watch it? If not, Tv-Nihon now has a torrent to a Subbed version.

I must say I was pretty satisfied with what I saw. Way better than the Deka vs Magi Special that's for sure. Since it's a Movie the special effects and Animations have been really polished, and for a Sentai show look really impressive. Well, IMO at least.

Yeah, Magiranger is really a great season. I didn't think so at first. When I saw the first Promo pictures with them wearing capes and I heard that the Theme was Magic, I thought "great....Harry Potter meets Sentai..." "Way to **** it up".

What's your favorite Episode or moment so far? My favorite moment would be when in Episode 12 the siblings get beaten up by WolKaiser and lie helpless on the ground. But then they receive a new spell and MagiKing lifts his hat. Everything up from that point, pure awesomeness.

I hope not, a lot of the guys are already thirty or almost thirty, we don't need ancient rangers, we need Power Rangers. A video documentary about an hour in length hosted by the current team would do for me, assuming Power Rangers will make it to 30 seasons. That picture is of a Sentai event, which the rangers were only there probably because it's celebrating 30 years of the show and most likely those are mannequins anyway. Though let's remember everything that happens in Sentai doesn't always come into Power Rangers and everything in Power Rangers doesn't always come from Sentai. Examples? The team-ups with Masked Rider and the Teenager Mutant Ninja Turtles. Also the things that haven't always been put into Power Rangers includes the Gorma, a lot of the nature theme of Gingman, Evorian, DekaGold, the plot of MagiMother. Things that were added? A LOT, too much to make a list. Though usually its involving the villains and rangers.

In Gaoranger, they did something like that called Gaoranger vs Super Sentai. One of the scenes was a role call with every Red up to GaoRed.

I just stated earlier: "I hope not, a lot of the guys are already thirty or almost thirty, we don't need ancient rangers, we need Power Rangers. A video documentary about an hour in length hosted by the current team would do for me, assuming Power Rangers will make it to 30 seasons.
