Power Rangers Anyone?

I don't know about anyone else, but I always wondered what they thought of Power Rangers over in Japan being that it was theirs to begin with.

I know that they dont like it that the american version red rangers is the main star and gets the battlelizer or how ever u spell it. They think all the rangers should be equal.

It's well received over there if I'm not mistaken. They probably don't like the fact that it is more famous than its source material. Of course for some reason whenever an American company gets something and makes/remakes it it becomes much larger. Like American Idol or Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

For some reason they decided to bring back Rita for the whole marrige thing, and I guess since Zedd is an american made villain they would need an american Rita being that all her footage was from the japanese version. One thing about Rita though, she always had a smile on her face.

And on Jetix, they're starting to show the Turbo episodes...which means Justin. I'm not sure what was worst, have a kid ranger that would grow full size, or the fact that they had to put him in high school.

Yes and various fight scenes. Though it has been recently used in Mystic Force for the need of non-original villain footage for now. Other times we had this done was in Season One, Zeo, and Lightspeed. After season one, the show became a high budget production and therefore needed less Sentai footage.

A kid growing to an adult size ranger happened in Ohranger too.

As far as Rita goes, she turned good when Andros destroyed Zordon and his wave washed away evil. If they brought her back, the fans would riot because they weren't adhering to continuity.

Yeah Gatekeeper was fantastic and I really think mystic force has grew on me and any negative things I had for it are now gone. Not as good as space or time force but its close. The disney team I think now knows how to make the show and have been improving every year. With each of their seasons being better than the last. Really hope this season comes to a box set sometime maybe in 07 with the 15th annimversirsy of the show.

Ah. Power Rangers. So much nostalgia. And yet, when I look back, without even veiwing the series again, I can see that the show wasn't really very good. The diologue was cheesy, the plots were formulaic, and the villains were campy. Maybe I'm being too harsh. It is just a kids show, after all. But then, Batman: The Animated Series had the same target audience, and it won emmies for it's writting. Personally, I think they could have tried harder. I still think they could have tried harder. Get some better writers in and hire a good cast, and the show could be very good. But then, I do tend to over think things.

The First Two Episodes kinda gave that away. He seemed very surprised that there was a Red Ranger or that he was the Red Ranger. That told me that at the most there is a connection between the Two I remember when Nick first morphed into the Red Ranger he was very surprised & said something like "A Red Ranger" ?

I never watched the show when Rita was in charge..then Fox aired "Mutiny" as a 3 part movie on a Friday night when Lord Zedd took over and was hooked...he kicked so much butt...

I was glad when Rita returned and they joined forces..and it only got better when her father, Master Vile arrived. He was so cool and his incantation that he recited to reverse the Earth and reduce the Rangers to children...I still remember it:

"If you are through now...the hour is upon us.."

"Ultimate power I command you, arise and conquer with venomus sinew
Give me the strength, the power, and the might, and people of Earth, good night.
Ultimate power, exert your force, reverse the earth's natural course."

I also love when he discovers that the Rangers have got the Zeo crystal in the Falconzord, "I must thank you White Ranger for doing the groundwork for me...without you, I would have never obtained the Zeo Crystal so easily...now I have it and your zords...the universe is mine...I am going to use the Zeo Crystal to destory the world...but first, there's going to be a party..."

The most unintentional funny line I heard from Vile was "Rangers, your Ninjor is connected to my Globber.." I about died when I heard that...(in reference to Master Vile's first monster "Blue Globber" and the Ranger's friend Ninjor).

Well Space, was in alot of way's the end of a legacy, while still being it's own story.

Lost Galaxy had like the most death's and arguible the best story.

Time Force was very close to it's Super Sentai counterpart and because of it was darker than any other series, the acting was also on the better side of the spectrume. The story was thier as well.

They aren't crossovers, they are team-ups. Let me explain, in some of the other television universes, it would be a crossover because they exist on different shows and come together. Power Rangers is a singular universe where most ranger teams know at least two others and exist in the same universe. Now Power Rangers did have two crossovers, "Shell Shocked" and "A Friend In Need", meaning the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Masked Rider. Once these happened, they officially became part of the Power Rangers Universe. At one time there was a crossover planned for VR Troopers, BeetleBorgs, probably not.

I like watching Super Sentai as well, Abraranger was good, i liked that a lot and Deka Ranger as well. Its funny watching that then when you watch the US version your like that bit is not made by disney.

I've got some old episodes of a sentai show called Dynaman that was shown briefly on US TV in the late 80's - way before the Power Ranger series.

Dynaman had jokey English dialog dubbed over the Japanese and there were no American actors edited in. It was pretty funny in an MST3K kind of way. I'll have to dig those old VHS tapes up and put the episodes on DVD.

Marvel had their hand in a few Toku series, that one being one and the very beginning of Sentai. The series JAQK, the Japanese character was supposed to be like Captain America, and instead Captain Japan. It was just trying to get profit from overseas.

I love the Power Rangers.
I watched Mighty Morphan, Zeo, Lightspeed, a bit of Space, Wild Force, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder and S.P.D I don't like Mystic Force to be honest. I don't like and I cannot relate to any of the character's.

I perfered Evil green ranger, he was badass. And had the best outfit.

The Power Rangers tv show has been running longer than alot of vehicles. gwahahaha, funny but true. I wouldn't mind being a Power Ranger myself and use some Uechi in the name of funny (and making money ofcourse). They have always been able to kick some butt, P.R. Turbo had the best intro song, I would air guitar through the entire thing. (They kicked some butt in P.R. in Space as well.)

After Lost Galaxy, I haven't watched a Rangers season, except for Ninja Storm (which was okay). However, I decided to give the Rangers another try, and I just started watching Mystic Force. Meh. Not bad. The cast is actually interesting, IMO.

Oh, and just to throw this in: Space is BY FAR the best series.

Ninja Storm was by far my fav season. The characters were likable and could act, great costumes , great zords, good story, good battles and for once it made more sense having them as ninjas so theres a explaination to how they know how to fight.

Wild Force was another season I loved. It even had forever red which was my favorite ep ever.

Mighty Moprhan was good too with an amazing cast.

Lightspeed was alright, some of the actors were cheesy.

I hated Turbo because of that B*****d kid. Having some kid whos balls havent droppped as a ranger was the worst idea ever.
