hey guys.i wanted to show you some of my stuff "well mainly...3 of my stuff" because well.im bored and i think some critisism could help me out little.so here are my sketches

The Thing.i did this the first time i picked up my first ultimate FF book.i wanted to see if i could sortof do small tweeks to ben in my general style..it came out like this.i think i did this about?....9 months ago? ..still looks alright to me..not that great though

this is a johnny storm picture i did.you know when you have a picture and it looks great.and you SHOULD stop but you dont and it makes it worse.thats the case with this drawing.i kept adding flame upon flame then i redid the hairshape and added the burn stripe lines and i became displeased with it after each addition.it kinda sucks...but meh

and finaly..yeah i know it isint "fan art" because well its my own design..but it took me ..about 2 hours to do "its all on paint" so it got complicated,...its not entirly from scratch though i used a batman peice on the hype as a base..im sorry to the guy i borried it from id give you credit if i could remember where it was so i could post as comparrison..hopefully i dont piss anyone off.i just saw the pic and thought the head was great and i thought it would be a great starting point for my character..lol my design is SO ORIGINAL ITS NOT FUNNY *lie detector explodes*


anyway..thats it..i have more but there not nesesarily fan art so i didint bother posting them.any critisim is welcome even negative you dont have to "go easy" on me or anything

ugh..i found some really old...very bad photos i did..and i figure id post them

THIS FIRST ONE was a villian i created for the sirens book im working on back in january..ugh.i cant really..look at it because i cant beleve i drew this badly..lol.needless to say i did this in detention with a black and red sharpie and a yellow pencilcrayon i found on the floor.oh the tools of the trade:up:

this one was one i did in math"i need to stop drawing in class" to try and fit all of the characters on one cover..i couldint find a pencil at first so i was using a blue pencil crayon..my friend samad asked why i was drawing with it.i told him.and he handed me the pencil to finish it off.i quickly sketched the others.but i shortend drarkfox way too much"top left" and glowgirl looks like a poor copy of WW but....bad...very bad"all of there designs have been changed drasticly..in sept itll be my b-day so im HOPING to get a tablet to show you what my current style looks like.far better than this.ugh"

oh yeah.one more thing..i do NOT know what those blue..squiggles on darkfoxs arms are..wtf was i thinking?

Well Val you're on your way, but, it takes ALOT of practice and studies of the human anatomy to get really good at what you want to do.

The best artist to draw fire IMO is Mike Golden (I draw fire like his). Try looking up Some of his art from Ghost Rider to Rom. In Rom he drew a character called FireFall, lots of fire in those Rom issues.

I'm glad you approve, Valorman. I'm not much of an artist (learning, though) but I am good at lineart. In a way it's harder than drawing. All you have to deal with is lines that often don't come out well when converted to a .jpeg of .gif.
Most of my custom non-traced stuff comes out rather poorly, but I'm working on being able to do sketches on paper and working in Lineart/Vector programs to get them "CGI'd." It's a big work in progress.

I added the first Lineart I did of the guy in the "Kato" mask to me portfolio for my project. It's a good concept design for something up my sleeve. Once I get Adobe Illustrator (Few more hundred to go!) I'll redo it and color it.

i think it has to do with my proportions. i often draw heads too big(and often only realise untill afterwards) which makes all of my drawings look 17 at the oldest, but..meh im just going with it now.

im doing a drawing of one of my female characters i created for my friend sarah. who needs it as refrence for a colab idea we wipped up, ill post it up once im done. Afterwards ill post the colaboration..otherwise im not quite sure what ill do because i really need to get better in order to get some of my ideas on paper.

You colour really well too (makes me sick hahaha). Like the new character whatever her name ends up as, and ur right, that belt IS cool. Keep it up. Why not try a hulk one? it would be hard to make him look too young i should think. I know exactly what u mean about the heads though, i often make them too big aswell.

haha it took me so long mostly because i couldint get a base for how they would be in the picture.i did a quick sketch to find a general base...

you can see how much was changed/resized/touched up in the final picture.but i got that scanned by my wonderfully helpfull friend sarah and then took about three days to finish it off.

i worked on texture alot in this picture, trying to make the hulks skin look tough (so i didint erase some of the pencil marks and highlighted them then coloured over them) and making the brown on wolverine to look like a leathery hide material.it came out pretty good as far as im concerned

oh..and i shrunk wolverines head to get rid of the kiddy thing..maybe i didint go far enough but..hey practice right?

So this is inspired by the Ultimate Spider-man issue in which Nick Fury tells pete that he's going to be a member of the ultimates when he's older. so i wanted to see what peters suit would look like if he were to join the ultimates.


i tried to keep the same feeling as the original suit while adding things that the ultimates usualy have on there uniforms (piping, reoccuring shapes etc.etc). i gave him the mask, and i made the lenses slightly smaller to show pete's maturity and framed them with a high tech kind of frame to show that maybe they have abilitys as well (night vision and stuff). the boots, though you can see them, would have a special thin soul so pete could walk on walls with them on, and the webshooters are slightly bulkier, i tried to make them look similar to tony's wrist's on his ironman suit. oh, and fingerless gloves. you cant be an ultimate member without fingerless gloves. anndd yeah..thats about it, enjoy.

i wont hold you to that colouring thing, but needless to say, im excited to see the results none the less. Anime heavily influenced my decision to become serious with my art a few years back, so im sure my work has a heavy influence from the genre because of it. i've tried to stray into other styles since then (mostly because i got reallyy sick of anime).A combination of studies from differint styles have helped me here and there, but i found it's best to simply start and end with whatever looks good in my mind, rather than trying to aim for a particular style. honestly, i've stopped thinking about it.
