Just saw the X3 teaser poster up in a big theater today, bunch of people were looking around at it. One person said it reminded them of the Jurassic Park 3 teaser poster.

I like the poster. Having doubts about the movie though. Hope I'm wrong. Thus far superhero movies have not done well w/a third installment-especially w/director changes.

It's cool vile one...let's just hope the director actually pay's attention the the characters and gives each of them a larger part in the movie...especially storm. I'm sure it will be great....I actually have a feeling that this will be far better than the first two!

Also, there haven't really been any "thirds" since the comic book movie genre got it's rebirth, through X-Men, I'll have you know.

The only "third" since Batman Forever was Blade Trinity, and you really can't blame Blade Trinity for being a bad movie, because well, Blade 2 did a damn good job of ruining a great thing, Blade Trinity didn't have to come along to do that (Guerimo Del Toro is the worst director on the face of the planet, I hate this guy. He ruins a totally awesome movie with Blade by making Blade 2, and Hellboy was a worthless piece of **** too. You all complain about Ratner, just be thankful that it's not Del Toro that we have. -THAT- would be the ruining of this franchise).

X-Men 3 is going to be the first "real" 3rd (I say real, because again, the Blade franchise was already ruined by Blade 2 by the time Blade Trinity came out. X2 was quite the opposite) since the comic book movie genre has been ressurected. And if some of the recent 3rds are any indication (Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban, Revenge of the Sith, Return of the King, Matrix Revolutions - A lot of people will say this sucked... but most of those people hated Matrix Reloaded also, so that means Revolutions didn't really ruin it... but Matrix Revolutions was pretty much as good as Matrix Reloaded at least in tone, and in my opinion, a good movie anyways), on top of the fact that all failed thirds are unneccesary (Terminator 3, Jurassic Park 3, etc...), I'm not too worried about this movie. I don't hate Ratner either, so that helps.

Only one thing I'm worried about, and I've complained enough about that in other threads, I don't need to bring it here too :D

Okay, even if you hate Del Toro, how could he be the worst director ever when Uwe Boll exists and Ed Wood used to? Come on, man, that's a rather lofty claim.

Del Toro is one of my favorite directors. In my opinion, Blade 2 is by far the best in the series and Hellboy was a great film.

I would prefer Del Toro over Ratner any day, though I don't really like either of them. Del Toro is a great visual director, and I love his smaller films, but his comic book adapted flicks thus far (Blade 2, Hellboy) are very..empty.

However, I do like Del Toro's passion, perhaps that's something that Ratner lacks as a filmmaker. I wish Ratner the best of luck though.

Anyway, it's good to start the hype early with the posters. Very simple but effective.

Yes. I did see the original. I'm not saying Blade 2 was great and therefore the first one sucks or something. They both kick ass. Blade 2 is just, in my opinion, better.

I just don't see it.

Blade 2 was nothing more than stupid over the top action sequences, and the whole Whistler thing was just the final nail in the coffin.

Blade was so much better on every single level than either of the other 2.

Umm, not exactly so...It's what makes the teaser effective and simple...The three claws of Wolverine signaling/implying '3' in front of the big classic 'X' does its job in quickly relaying to the viewers that's it's the third X-Men film...

It wouldn't make much sense to deny or be surprised to the fact that Wolverine is one of the 3 main protagonists in the X-Men movies (probably along with Xavier and Magneto) and that thus, he would most likely be the most recognizable and profitable figure among the casual X-Men moviegoers.

I meant without censure, more explicit. If you've seen Del Toro's movies (apart from Blade and Hellboy) you know what I mean.

I dunno why but American directors tend to be kinda "puritanical". I think is more about the producers... well, except Rothman, who wants a Brothel instead of a Institute for the Gifted...

I'm sorry dude but you can't excuse the awfull trainwreck that was Blade 3 with your dislike of the 2nd.
If you're going to call out bad directors then David Goyer should be at the top of your list.

Interesting....

From tobyholman.com:
In depth

i. Cover the work that we looked at in the last three or four weeks
ii. Talk through task 7:
a. As this is a joint question worth about 15% of your final mark for this coursework, complete the following:
i. Design a poster for X Men 3 for an thirty something, magazine. eg a lifestyle magazine. It should be designed to pick out the style for the older market and, as such, should ignore the more childish areas of the film (when this task has been given in the past, students have been able to complete this poster in about 30 minutes of a lesson. They should, therefore, be able to complete at least one of these by the end of the one lesson.)
iii. Talk through task 8
i. Design a second poster for X Men 3, but this time, design it for a target market of 10 – 18 year olds. Think about, and highlight on the work, why you have designed it the way that you have. (what is important is that the two posters are different from each other and that they have the ability to differentiate the posters between the two different target markets. They should be looking for making changes to the font and colour used as well as the wording for the poster.)
iv. At the end of the lesson, make sure that they are well under way with the task and appreciate what they need to do by next week (task 9) for their homework.Source: http://www.tobyholman.com/SOW/gcse_ict_sc/GCSE%20ICT%20-%20Portfolio%201%20-%20Scheme%20of%20Work.doc

Sunday I finally slept til noon. We saw Fantastic Four, which was rather terrible and wholly laughable. "Have you met my director of genetic research, [Jessica Alba]?" No, no we have not. There may have been more collective quality in the X3 poster in the lobby or the King Kong trailer before the film, but it was a nice stupid way to spend an afternoon. Flame on! (I kept wanting to add "...you crazy diamond!")

That's it for awhile. Next weekend we answer the question "How did Katie Fee get that way?"Source: http://www.livejournal.com/users/aliwilliams/89885.html

From fabfunk:

FOX and Marvel completed their successful marketing relationship by introducing the X3 poster into Loews Theaters this weekend. Fairly uninspired, it’s a shot of Wolverine’s claws on top of a big “X” logo. It’s not like there’s much more you can show for a film that has yet to start shooting (and somehow, is supposed to come out in less than a year), but it got people talking. I had a discussion about this with our theater’s distribution-connection guy, Josh. Apparently we got five X3 posters, and if it turns out they actually don’t make the movie, FOX will most likely ask for the posters back. If the film does go forward with filming, Josh can’t give the posters away until the film is released. Being that I don’t plan on staying here for another year, someone needs to stop this movie from going into production so I can make a small Ebay fortune.Source: http://www.livejournal.com/users/fabfunk/61997.html

ooh and i also saw the x3 poster. which was amazing, it was like the cover of stonishing x-men #1: wolverine's fist with his claws out :D:D:D:D to make the '3' in x3. may 2006, it said. so we'll see phoenix, and she'll be all powerful, and logan and scott will become united in their fear of her and realise that they don't need her after all, like will and vaughn (although that just. totally doesn't work), for they are a formidable pair who can defeat ken and ryu.

whoo. my life is led in fiction.

Didn't know where to post this and sorry if it has been posted before so here we go...

From HNR (http://www.hollywoodnorthreport.com/article.php?Article=2174)

HNR has learned that Marvel Entertainment and 20th Century Fox are readying an aggressive marketing campaign for X-Men 3, set to launch in December.

The button will be pushed when USA Today publishes the first official still photos of the cast. Shortly thereafter, the first teaser trailer appears on the official website, which itself will be significantly updated.

Theatrically, the trailer will first appear with the December 14th opening of King Kong.

Fox's Fantastic Four DVD - set for release on December 6 - will also include an exclusive look at X-Men 3, hosted by Avi Arad, the head of Marvel Studios.

This is a very rare and highly collectible item. It is a carboard 3 dimensional standee for the unreleased X-Men 3 movie. It is a "teaser" version of the standee which means it is released well before the film is released (it isn't even done being made yet) to let people know it is in the works. This also means that a very limited amount of these were made and no more will EVER be made. You can ONLY get this rare item from the film studio, and you will not find it elsewhere. Later versions will appear, but they will not be as rare or cool as the "teaser". These items tend to become even more rare and collectible when they list the opening date of the film. The estimated opening date is printed along the base, and if the movie's opening date changes (as they often do when they are scheduled this far in advance) then anything with the wrong date becomes even more valuable.
It is still in it's original shipping box, and unassembled. It has not been tainted by human hands, and it has not been taken apart. The picture is only a reference to what it looks like and is not the actual item. It will look identical to this picture except for the folds/creases in the claws that are from kids hanging on the claws in that public display.

This is a truely awesome standee. The whole thing is 3-D and not a flat picture standee. It has a sturdy base and a solid 3-D X background. There is a fist coming from the base of the standee and 3 of Wolverine's claws that are also 3-D and seperated from the background.

This would look very good in any home theatre, movie memorabilia collection, comic collection, or even a movie fan or x-men fan's house. It is a very rare item and a must have for any fan of x-men, movies, collectibles or comics.

A lesser s&h charge can be arranged if you are willing to accept a slower delivery time with a slower service.Source: http://cgi.ebay.com/X-Men-3-unassembled-standee-RARE-3D-WOLVERINE-claws_W0QQitemZ7568099417QQcategoryZ2326QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem

Just saw the X3 teaser poster up in a big theater today, bunch of people were looking around at it. One person said it reminded them of the Jurassic Park 3 teaser poster.
I'm thinking bout asking for it when their donewith it, most places just trash them when their done with those things.

-The teaser poster has been up at my local theator since the Harry Potter premire, so it may have been put up even earlier.....

My journey diary

Hi

I want to put my whole photos from Los Angeles, the City was beautiful and I like very, very much there!!!

First day was good arrvied from Luxembourg to Zurich (Swiss) and to Los Angeles with airplane SwissAir and the weather in LAX was warm and pretty warm air smells into my nose *g* My mother checked the Transfer LAX to Hollywood, before I wasn't believe that was pretty surprise to see over whole the Hollywood City: Mann's Chinese Theatre, Kodak Theatre, Walk of the Fame, Hollywood Wax Museum, Hollywood Movie Museum, Cinema beside The Disney Store and I wonder the Hotel is ROOSEVELT , the very famous and expensive Hotel that my mother booked them, I don't know which is that and I am lucky that I saw all over Hollywood to Downtown and Universal Studios then Anaheim Disneyland. The Happy Eve was bad stormly floading rainfall in three days and we haven't one half days to Disneyland, pity...here are the photos:

Weekend: movies, writing, and sneezing.

I found several untyped bits from the WIP and put them in. Also recovered an old scene that I’d thought I would need to cut. My word count increases! I should feel triumphant or something, but instead I just feel stuck. I know the deal: my pace got reset to “percolate” when I made a bunch of changes to my protag awhile back. I haven’t quite figured out how to work the new stuff into the old plot (or, failing that, rework the plot). I have no patience for the hidden dealings of my subconscious. I want answers, now. Or at least by the time I get off work.

I liked both Domino and Elizabethtown better than the reviewers did, but neither was fabulous. (The soundtracks, on the other hand….) Saw a poster for X3 in the lobby, which gave me a happy little shiver. And of course I want to pet Aslan on the big Narnia standup thing every time I pass it.Source: http://www.sillybean.net/archives/694

My local movie theatre (Regal Cinemas Hollywood 20) has that huge X3 cardboard standout. They have it sort of squished between the video games and the food bar, so it's a bit hard to see.

Luckily, I suggested they move it near the front and an usher told me as May gets nearer they were going to do just that.

[x] the days have come and gone, our lives went by so fast.

i think i am really growing up.

mainly because in the face of ridiculous judgement and petty whispering the only thing i could think was: wow, i am thirsty.
aka: not bothered.
a little disappointed though in people.
but not upset.

and i think this represents that, as said, i am growing up.

on the other side, my schedule next year is an absolute joke and i am starting to regret it.

i've always done a pretty good job of keeping so busy that i didn't have time for a social life or to have to deal with other stuff going on in my life, always giving myself the excuse that "i'm too busy for this."
but next year i am actually not going to be too busy. i'm not really sure if i'm going to be able to deal with that.

i saw a movie poster for xmen 3 and almost had a heartattack.
too bad it's a year away.

almost everyone in virginia beach is acting really weird. at least they are to me.
i'm not one for fake kindness, so please leave me alone if this is your story.
and if you have a problem with me please tell me. i'm pretty sure we have reached the age where secret internet conversations and secret text messages are beneath us.
or maybe that's just me.

i'm really stoked about getting with some of the eurokids on thursday. i <3 them.
and it was also nice to hang out with kids who got to know ME and not what some kid says about me. that was pretty refreshing.

and ... that's it.
