rogue will always be my all-time fave cuz her character on the carton got me hooked to the comics and fanfics and movies and all things X in general.

my other 3 faves are gambit, iceman, and emma frost.

however, i will go thru periods where i like certain characters more for a bit and read up more on them. like one time i was really into psylocke, another time colossus and kitty.

True, and that's because they're not diverse enough characters. Individually, I love 'em all. The team was kind of weak, though, story-wise.

Favorite new X-Man? Colossus.

Maybe I'm just sentimental, but I disagree. You've got to remember the times. In the beginning the original 5 were pretty unique . True X-men had dropped in popularity for a while but how many times has Superman and Batman bottomed out and bounced back?
If they weren't interesting characters they wouldn't have remained a part of the X-men world. True some amazing characters have come along since, but only time will tell if they have the staying power of these five. Of the four you mentioned only Wolverine has really proven to be more than a 1-D character. Storm, Colossus and Banshee have interesting powers, but I never felt like X-men would be lost if they just went away.

Funny characters are good characters. However, in most cases whether or not a character has good one-liners depends too much on the writer. Any character in a comic writen by Peter David is going to have a good sense of humor. The problem is that the same character will probably be less funny when he/she is written by someone else.
