That was originally in the Underworld: Evolution trailer. See for yourself...that piece, too, is a great one.
The Underworld version is a lot more, grittier.
The X-Men one is more suited to the universe, and some would say more epic.

Summary:
If you liked the first film, then you should enjoy "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest." A great performance by Johnny Depp and a great villain in Davy Jones make this a perfect summer popcorn flick.
Story:
"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" is the sequel to the 2003 film "The Curse of the Black Pearl".
Sometime after the first film, Captain Jack Sparrow desperately looks for a special key. Little does his crew know, but Sparrow owes a debt to Davy Jones, the supernatural ruler of the seas. He's looking for the key as a way to get out of having to pay his debt. However, the crew figures out their predicament soon enough as the octopus-faced Jones and his creepy crew chase Sparrow down.
Davy Jones isn't the only one looking for our shady Captain. After having been arrested by the British government for aiding in the escape of Sparrow, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann are blackmailed into helping track down the Captain. Lord Cutler Beckett forces them to find Sparrow and obtain a magical compass from him in exchange for pardons. But who will find Sparrow first?
"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of adventure violence, including frightening images.
What Worked:
Simply put, if you liked the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, you're probably going to enjoy the sequel. It has everything that made the first film so much fun. You have fantastic swordfights, creepy bad guys created with stunning special effects, romance, drama, comedy, and Captain Jack Sparrow in top form. (The first film is also required viewing. You won't follow what's going on in this sequel if you didn't see its predecessor.)
I've heard this referred to as the Empire Strikes Back of the Pirates series and that's a pretty accurate description. Captain Jack Sparrow has that rogue's charm like Han Solo, Will Turner is like Luke, and Elizabeth comes across a lot like Princess Leia. The heroes of both films separate and go on different adventures. And among other similarities, both movies end with big cliffhangers.
Another similarity is that both movies have a fantastic villain. Davy Jones is destined to be a classic movie bad guy. His look (and that of his henchmen) is utterly stunning. The special effects used for his tentacles are some of the best use of CGI that I've seen in a long time. Jones' tentacles twitch with his mood, he breathes pipe smoke out the sides of his face, and he looks like a true creature from the sea. He's also more than a two-dimensional bad guy. Once or twice you think he might actually relent and have a heart after all, then he does something truly brutal. Davy Jones ends up being one of the highlights of this summer's movies.
That being said, Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow is the true star of this film. Like in the first movie, he absolutely steals every scene he's in as the quirky pirate. I think this is the first time Depp has reprised a role from a previous film and I'm certainly glad he did. From the moment he appears on screen, it's like seeing an old friend again. This time around we get to see even more from him as he struggles between being a despicable pirate and a true hero while stumbling through scenery. This is really Sparrow's film and he doesn't disappoint.
The rest of the cast is good, but like in the previous film they're all in the shadow of Depp as Sparrow. Orlando Bloom gets a fair amount of action as Will Turner. His character also receives an interesting revelation that ups the stakes for him. Keira Knightley is stunning again as Elizabeth Swann. She goes on one particular tirade towards the end of the film that is quite funny, but her final darker moments in the film are what she'll really be remembered for. Stellan Skarsgård has a great cameo as 'Bootstrap' Bill Turner as does Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa.
Pirates 2 also features that great mix of comedy and horror that makes these films such a fun thrill ride. In fact, the slapstick is amplified quite a bit this time around. A scene where the pirates face off with some cannibals (incorrectly placed in the Caribbean) features enough physical comedy to make the Three Stooges proud. But thanks to Depp's performance it all seems perfectly natural and you're willing to go along for the ride.
After leaving the music of the first film up to Klaus Badelt, Hans Zimmer jumps back into the spotlight for the sequel. He does a great job and creates an impressive score. Themes for the Kraken and Davy Jones particularly stand out, but the action scenes also feature great reprisals of the original themes.
On a final note, make sure you stay through the end of the film in order to see the final fate of one of the characters. You'll find it well worth staying for no matter how badly you have to go to the bathroom afterwards.
What Didn't Work:
I had no real problem with this film. It was funny, exciting, and a great movie-going experience. If anything, I only have nitpicks. While the vast majority of the effects looked fantastic, some of the Kraken effects weren't quite up to par. Some of the tentacles didn't look quite right while others looked very realistic. And unfortunately the cliffhanger ending is a little bit of a disappointment. The movie doesn't feel like it has any real closure and it ends on a bit of a down note. I also wish they had put a sneak preview of Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End at the end of this film. I wonder if people know there will be a third film coming next year.
The Bottom Line:
"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" is yet another great addition to the series. If you liked the first film, you'll enjoy this.

Summary:
Not as good as the first movie (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/reviewsnews.php?id=15232#), but with enough hilarious Captain Jack moments and exciting action scenes to appease the fans, and an ending that guarantees they'll be back for Part 3.
Story:
On the day of their wedding, Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) are arrested and sentenced to death by Lord Beckett (Tom Hollaner) for helping Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) escape from authorities. He offers them a full pardon if they can find Captain Jack and retrieve his compass, which will help Beckett find an object that will give him his heart's desire. Unbeknownst to them, the owner of said object, the undead Captain Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) is after Captain Jack to repay a debut with the aid of a crew of ungodly creatures and a giant beast called The Kraken.
Analysis:
Of course, the question on everyone's mind with any sequel will be "Is it as good as the original?" Let's face it. "The Curse of the Black Pearl" was such a one-of-a-kind experience, coming out at just the right time to win people over with its mix of humor and adventure (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/reviewsnews.php?id=15232#). Most of the characters are back for the sequel, but as hard as it is to create a winning formula once, it's even harder to do it twice, though director (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/reviewsnews.php?id=15232#) Gore Verbinski certainly has made an effort to do so.
Most of the first hour is used to bring the characters from the first movie back together, with the sleazy Lord Beckett acting as the catalyst, manipulating Will and Elizabeth into finding Captain Jack Sparrow and bringing back his broken compass. Meanwhile, Jack has been looking for a special key, much to the irritation of the crew of the Black Pearl who are hoping to do more pirating, but he takes advantage of Will's desperation to save Elizabeth, offering him the compass in exchange for his help getting the key.
The owner of that key is Captain Davy Jones, a nasty bugger with an octopus for a head and crab leg appendages, who is literally heartless when dealing with the victims of the shipwrecks he causes using his pet beast known as the Kraken. One of these unfortunate souls is what's left of Will's late father "Bootstraps Bill," played by Stellan Skarsgard, who is working on Jones' boat in order to repay the debt. He has his sights set on Captain Jack, who owes Jones for getting him the Black Pearl.
The plot of "Dead Man's Chest" isn't as immediately accessible as the original, maybe because it's expecting you to already know who everyone is. Unlike other recent 2 1⁄2 hour movies, it never feels long because it jumps around between the different characters and their subplots, but there's also far more dialogue and exposition to explain Jones' back story and his relation with the others. It's a bit hard to follow, made even more confusing by the heavy accents used by some of the characters. Kids who enjoyed the first movie might not fully understand what is happening at times because of this.
That said, it's hard not to be fascinated by Bill Nighy's Davy Jones, an amazing achievement of CGI that allows Nighy's distinctive personality to shine through the bizarre amalgam of man and sea-creature. Jones' crew is just as impressive, because none of them look like they're wearing costumes, and the CG used to create them is so transparent that they look even stranger when they're out in the daylight. Likewise, the Kraken, Jones' tentacled beastie, is pretty unbelievable to watch in action. Its tentacles snake through the ship before pulling them down to the depths, and you can literally hear the sloshing of its giant suckers. It seems so realistic that you can understand why the Kraken brings so much fear and why those scenes are far more exciting than the skeleton battles from the first movie.
Other memorable scenes include Captain Jack trying to get away from a tribe of cannibals with hilarious results and a three-way swordfight between Jack, Will and Jack Davenport's Captain Norrington, who has turned into a drunken bum after losing his post and Miss Elizabeth in the first movie.
Johnny Depp is so on-the-money as Captain Jack that when he's not onscreen, things tend to drag while you wait for his return. The most obvious example is when Will Turner serves his tenure on Davy Jones' crew, a grey and dreary section that's far too serious and dramatic devoid of the excitement and laughs of the rest of the movie. This section culminates in a vague dice game played by Jones' men that seems more complicated than bridge. Because how it works is never fully explained, it just bogs down what is already the weakest section of the movie.
Bloom has noticeably improved as an actor since the first movie, showing a lot more confidence and resolve and giving Will Turner the same heroic edge as Legolas in "The Return of the King (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/reviewsnews.php?id=15232#)." Turner's evolution as a character is countered by a terrible performance by Knightley, who plays everything so over-the-top to try to make her scenes seem funnier, but she just comes across as annoying. Those who enjoyed the duo's chemistry in the first movie may also be disappointed that they're barely together until the very end.
Of the other new characters, Tom Hollander's Lord Beckett isn't much of a departure from his Mr. Collins in "Pride and Prejudice" and Naomie ("28 Days Later") Harris, sporting a heavy Jamaican accent as a soothsayer is a pretty useless character. They're overshadowed by most of the returning support characters. Lee Arenberg and MacKenzie Crook, the inept pirates from Barbossa's crew, steal many scenes, even opposite Captain Jack, and Norrington's fall from grace allows Davenport to give the character a bit more depth than in the first movie.
If nothing else, Verbinski should be commended for not relying solely on the first movie's formula, continuing what was started with a story that also works as its own entity. He effectively ups the ante on the action and effects, making the sequel more visually stylish, without losing some of the things that worked so well before. The most notable improvement is the marvelous score by Hans Zimmer, who pulls out all of the musical stops to make every scene more exciting.
The best thing about this sequel is that a lot of the original movie's best gags are expanded upon, and though one has to wonder whether these recurring jokes can hold up for a third movie, the cliffhanger ending is sure to bring everyone back for next summer's threequel. (Just make sure to stay through the end of the lengthy credits for one last laugh.)
The Bottom Line:
Anyone who saw and loved the first movie will probably enjoy at least a good part of this sequel. Regardless of the moments that lose momentum, there are more than enough funny gags and exciting action scenes to make up for them.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
With a hideous, tentacley Kraken on his trail, Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) must quell the beast’s master – squid-faced rotter Davy Jones (Bill Nighy). Chuck in Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), hunting a special box containing Jones’ still-beating heart, and pandemonium is but an “A-hargh, me hearties!” beat away...
So you’re at Disneyland and, with Space Mountain rammed, you plump for that Pirates Of The Caribbean ride. It’s brilliant. A hugely enjoyable whirlpool of story, thrills and laughs, it’s one of the most invigorating things you can do with slightly damp clothes on.
“Best ride of all summer!” you yell. As do the kids. Having loved it so much, you all run to the back of the queue for another go. But, inevitably, it’s just not as good second time around. There’s still a story, thrills, plenty of laughs... but the impact has dulled.
That’s a big fat metaphor, see. Bit laboured, perhaps, but it’s the only way to describe this second instalment of Jack Sparrow and co’s swash and buckle. Rolling out the same brand of convoluted plotting, bracing swordplay and dastardly double-crossing, director Gore Verbinski and producer/ATM Jerry Bruckheimer seem happy to stay surfing the original’s wave. It’s Pirates 1 – with a bit more CGI.
Which isn’t to say Dead Man’s Chest won’t float your blockbuster boat. For starters, there’s Davy Jones’ mega-squid, the Kraken – sort of Return Of The Jedi’s Sarlacc after swimming lessons. Thing is, this CG ****-stirrer is positively adorable next to Jones and his crew – so horrific are the acid-flashback faces of the men who have sold their souls. Close to being plain disgusting rather than just evil, these seamen need to be stopped – just so you don’t have to look at them.
With the eye-assaulting fish-faces spending much of their time with Bloom, all too often this means no Jack – which is bad news. Once again, Depp’s poncing prat ram-raids the film, swiping every scene like any good pirate snaffles swag. Indeed, his Sparrow is even more engaging than he was three years ago. Babbling punctuation-free sentences (“Complications arose ensued overcome”) that make more sense the less you think about them, and mincing about like a looks-enhanced Liberace raised on a rum teat, Depp is so mesmerising you’ll wish the film was called Pirate Of The Caribbean.
A shame, then, that Dead Man’s Chest’s last-reel teaser for the final chunk of the trilogy suggests we’ll be seeing even less Johnny in number three. That’s just not going to be jolly.
Funny, frantic but far too long. The zing of the original teeters at the plank’s edge and is just about yanked back by Depp’s wonderful weirdness.

Hmm.
Yeah.
I'm probably gonna like it. There was a promo with Bill Nighy on Today this morning and it had the "Jack Trades Will" clip while Bill was talking about working with Depp, I think...and my dad became disgusted...like...he made a
"EURGH!" sound and then said "They move! THE TENTACLES MOVE!!!"
LOL good times
EDIT: Obviously he was referring to Davy Jones lol soz
To be honest, I've always thought Bill Nighy was Bootstrap Bill and Stellan Skarsgård as Davy Jones. I just realized it was the other way around a few days ago. :o
Even though I saw Stellan in the trailer, I just assumed Davy Jones morphed into a human or somethin'.

I saw King Kong one opening day and it had like 10 people in it rofl...I like that cinema experience, though...not many people, it's nice.
But PotC 2 is gonna be packed...not of fans...but of screaming girls (and gays) wholl giggle all the way through the film and clap and cheer everytime Orlando kisses Keria...not that theres anything wrong with that, just it being annoying :o
If there are people like that I am SO busting caps in peoples arses!

Yeah, the cinematic experience is MUCH better than piracy. I know it sounds hypocrital, so sue me.
Anyway, I've been seeing a lot of DMC advertisements on TV commercials. That's a good sign. I feel it will be the top box-office movie of this year...in Australia. Cos the last time I went to see Pirates in theater, it was packed. Hopefully, the same goes for DMC, even though I loathe obsessed fangirls and unbelievably-rude teen boys.

Oh, wait, I've been meaning to ask you this, Vile. How was Hans Zimmer's score? Was it light-hearted? Epic?
The score reminded me of Spider-man 2. It sounded like they re-used a lot the same cues, but touched them up in certain places.
Some of the pieces are a little darker and heavier. I wouldn't call it a light-hearted score except in the humorous spots. It's a good score, but I'd have to listen to it again to see if I can call it truly epic. I thought the score had potential in the first movie but there was room for improvement, and I think they made some improvements in this movie.
Also guys, chill out about the fangirl whining. You want to see the movie in theatres no matter what. I saw the movie in theatres with a great sound hook-up and it was chilling you could feel all the blasts and the footsteps. This is why you want to see a movie like this in a nice theatre, you don't get this effect on DVD at home.

Sounds good enough.
And I felt the same way with Superman Returns. That's one of many reasons why I've been re-watching it over and over again. It's best to see movies like SR as much as you can. I can never get enough. Hopefully, it'll be the same case with DMC.
Even seeing and hearing the DMC TRAILER on the big screen with surround sounds sent chills down my spine. Who knows what seeing the WHOLE movie on the big screen would be like?

How much money is it making now, internationally?
In Indonesia, Superman Returns scored the highest-grossing opening of all time with $692,000 from 55 prints. In neighboring Philippines, it grabbed $2.5 million from 81 prints, the second best start ever and 83 percent higher than Spider-Man 2.
South Korea yielded Superman Returns $5.2 million from 303 prints, exceeding Batman Begins by 112 percent and on par with Spider-Man 2. In Australia, the picture made $3.82 million from 409 screens, while Taiwan's $1.58 million from 151 prints was above recent superhero fare, including Batman Begins.
In Thailand, Superman Returns had the fifth best five-day premiere ever with $1.47 million from 204 prints. India was also stellar, with $1.49 million from 274 screens, which was the second highest opening for an American movie of all time. Other strong starts included Malaysia ($830,000 from 75 screens), Singapore ($1.2 million from 73), Puerto Rico ($657,000 from 73) and New Zealand ($377,000 from 81).
International IMAX returns for Superman Returns were stunning. The picture grossed $560,000 from just 11 screens in seven markets. The Philippines' single IMAX screen alone yielded $109,000
Next week, Superman Returns lays low, opening only in South Africa, but then debuts in Brazil, France, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom the following week.

SR was a great movie. It should have done better. I think people were expecting Superman to be "newer." I asked people in my theatre and they said that they didn't want Superman to still be in tights, and that Lex Luthor was to poor of a choice as a villain, but I loved everything about the movie.

They are fighting over the heart of Davy Jones. Will wants it so he can kill Davy Jones and save his father. Jack wants it to save himself. Norrington wants it to give it back to Lord Beckett to get his title back.

Vile, this is something that has been worrying me for quite some time.
I loved the first film because it was a much darker take on a pirate story.
From what I've seen in clips and trailers, I am hesistant that they may have taken away that darker aspect and went for a more 'kid friendly' over the top approach.
In other words, is this film as dark or darker than the first film or have they lightened it up?

This is not fact or anything but i think its a set to have Jack have the best entrance of the three films. I mean people know he is doing a 3rd by now for everyone of the cast is talking about going back to work.
It would be cool if he woke up on board a ship and its captain is Keith Richards his old pop. And he says thanks pop and then raises his pistol now i really do need to comondeer your ship." "I am your father Jack." "Its nothing Personal its a pirates thing savy."

8/10: Pirates of the Caribbean 2
Review Date: July 02, 2006
Director: Gore Verbinski
Writer: Ted Elliott, Terry Rossio
Producers: Jerry Bruckheimer
Actors:
Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow
Orlando Bloom as Will Turner
Keira Knightley as Elizabeth
Genre: Action/Adventure
PLOT
Captain Jack Sparrow is back on the high seas, this time, searching for a special key that will unlock a little something-something called the Dead Man’s Chest. Along the way, a pissed-off pirate by the name of Davy Jones runs into him, and wants to nab his soul. So, as per any great pirate, Sparrow trades down and continues on his search. At the same time, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley also join the party & the chase, the swash-buckling, the back-stabbin’ pirates, the ass-to-mouth…all that fun stuff, ensues!
CRITIQUE
Looks like Disney hit the lotto with this franchise. Not only have they snagged three ultra-hot actors to star in their pirate trilogy, but they’re running an “all ages” gamut that would have everyone from my granny to my parents to my drinking buddies, my sister and her gossipy friends and even soccer moms and ******* dads, loving this ****! It’s the ultimate summer action-adventure creature-feature with tons of action, plenty of adventure, oodles of fun, a tinge of romance, a gaggle of creepy underwater pirates, monsters and anything else you could imagine stuffed inside a two-and-a-half hour fun-ride that tops its predecessor in pace, action, special effects and ultimately (for me, at least), entertainment. This is the movie that everyone has likely been waiting for all summer, so that they can hang back, roll a J, swig a Coke, slap some nachos down their throats and make out with their better half, as they watch an all-out bag o’ cinematic fun unroll before their eyes. Yeah, I might be overselling this puppy, but after watching SUPERMAN RETURNS invest $225+ million into a good motion picture that doesn’t seem to have much of that dough “on the screen”, I can honestly say that PIRATES 2 (with an even lower budget), puts every single one of its dimes on the screen…and more! (and they also gotta pay three well-known actors)
The final hour of this movie is almost non-stop action, with special effects and characters melded by CGI truly taking the film to a whole other level of fun. I’m not exactly sure how Davy Jones and his pack of gnarly pirates were created, but I imagine that it was a combination of actual dudes in grungy outfits and plenty of computer wizardry, but it all works to perfection and in a film such as this, it all comes together to create an epic otherworld that is both believable and highly enjoyable to watch—unless you’re creeped out by stuff like that, in which case, their barnacle-pimpled faces might not suit your fancy. Sure, the film doesn’t necessarily start off with a bang, but as soon as the “adventure” gets going, I don’t think the film let up for a minute with cannibals, nasty pirates, swashbuckling and something called “The Cracken” (two words: awe-some!) all jockeying for position throughout the film’s many enjoyable sequences. But even with the action and adventure aside, let’s not forget about the three lead characters who all do admirable jobs here, specifically the man who goes by the name of Jonathan Depp, who once more steals plenty of scenes and continues to have a blast with his over-the-top pirate with questionable scruples.
Kudos to Disney for creating a movie that stars a man without a perfect moral stance, and with plenty of love for “the drink”. My kind of guy! I do wish there had been more of Keira Knightley though (she only shows up about halfway through the flick and even then, she’s fully dressed…bummer) and more bloody stuff and gore, but it’s the house of Mickey Mouse after all, so don’t go in expecting anything over and above its PG-13 rating. There are plenty of kills and fights and what-not though, but none feature anything too graphic, with plenty of off-camera stuff left to the imagination of the viewer. But the film’s enjoyable nonetheless, with a peppy score booming through every scene, action up the backside and even a tender moment or two, with a reason to care about certain peoples (go Skarsgaard!). One thing that you really do need to know though is that this film is the middle part of the trilogy, so do NOT expect it to finish…smoothly. The ending is about as abrupt as they come, and will leave those in the audience who are not aware of a third movie, wondering what the hell just happened (as per certain people in my audience). I think it would have been wise of Disney to fade to black and announce something like “See you all next summer for PIRATES 3” or some ****, but alas, I knew what was up with the series, and dug the way they laid this one out in a sweet cliffhanger as they did. Yet another pirates life for me…next summer! Note: Unlike many others, I didn’t go ga-ga over the original PIRATES flick. I thought it was “alright”, but this one is the bee’s knees.

It's called piracy. Elizabeth was more than anything honoring Jack by being a good pirate. It wasn't treachery at all. At the end of the day it's all Jack's fault really. Jack was the one that got them into the mess in the first place. Jack also isn't quick to take responsibility for his actions either. Jack seemed to understand in a way.
I do agree with you though, I do like Elizabeth less sorta after watching this movie. To the *******S that are constantly whining about Mary Jane being a **** in the Spider-man films, I think that word fits Elizabeth pretty well in this movie.

(Possible Spoilers ahead. Read at Your Own risk.)
I have never liked Elizabeth or anyway Keira Knightly. Any who i think more or less Elizabeth understands the pirates guidlines a bit too much more then Will. She was tutored by Barbossa. Anyway i hear that Elizabeth will be kidnapped by Cho Yung Fatt. As the new baddie pirate in Pirates 3. My guess is Will while maybe a bit mad about how the Jack thing happened. still loves her and is bent on saving her.
Rumor has it that the gang Will, Jack and Barbossa will have to take on Cutler, Norrington the New Pirate and Davy Jones. Cutler is planning a major attack on pirating witha a hundred ship fleet. The guys come together and loyalties are tested when new alliances are made.
I see Jacks death as a tribute to like andy middle trilogy film. Harrison Ford in Empire Strikes Back. Famka Janssen Jean Grey in X2. Ian McKellan in Fellowship of the Ring.
I mean Jack is the main star and well he is Captain Jack Sparrow. Only he is lucky enough to get out of that. He is a perfect example of a cockroach.
I however think that if not for Jack Elizabeth would have Drawned. If not for Jack Barbossa would have killed Will. Sure Jack has bad luck but its not all his fault . It is Cutler not Jack to Blame. I mean they went after Jack for the compus.
