Vinnie Jones is already 6'2"..
With the boots, the total costume will make him look around 6'6" alone...If they wanted to, they can still provide several different tricks in order to give him even more height..

I don't think looks, is much of an issue right now regarding Juggernaut. I'm sure camera angle, cg touch ups and what not could add more to the effect. Looking at the recent pictures of him, I'm sold.
Just hoping his portrayal as Juggernaut, would be

We already have a major thread to post feedback from the Xverse Q&A forums... :(
10 Hopefully this hasn't already been asked, though not sure if you'll be able to address it anyway. Will Juggernaut be Professor X's half brother in X3, or will they be unrelated?
* It will not be dealt with in this film.
Zak Penn
I guess when you really think about it, it makes alot of sense...I guess it's for the better since it won't be a part of the story..
Here's somethin interesting:
12 Is Juggerant a mutant in the movie?
* Yes. We dispensed with band of Cytorrak (sp.?) because it doesn't fit in the universe. I was always reluctant to do Juggs, even in X2, because his backstory involved magic and his powers were difficult to explain. The very first draft I ever read of x1, this might have been pre Bryan Singer, if you can imagine such a time, had Juggernaut in it.
All that said, I believe we came up with a cool explanation for his powers. I only hope it makes it into the final cut!
I can't wait to find out what they're cooking up for him!..

That...really sucks. Really sucks. That was one of the reasons Vaughn got Vinnie if I remember. They could have given the connection with one line.

It would be kinda weird if they wanted to stop every 5 minutes to remind everyone who everyone was in the movie...
Some things need to be said and some things don't..
I find it interesting to note that some people read what Kinber says and assumes that Juggernaut is in fact, NOT Xavier's step/half-brother..But actually, he only says that the relationship is not dealt with, meaning that they could still be, but it's just not going to be made clear.
The guys on IGN are acting like Juggernaut is going to suck now...Yeah, right..Nightcrawler sucked in X2 since Mystique wasn't shown to be his mother.. THINK people!..

I don't think he'll suck now...I just wanted them to make a mention through Magneto or Juggy himself about Xavier. Nothing fancy, nothing time-comsuming too much. I'm just a big personal fan of Juggernaut, it's just a person fanboy thing, but it'll have no bearing on whether I like the overall movie or not. My expectations are still at a great high and not mentioning the relationship will do nothing to hinder that high.

not the best manip but YES!!!
this exactly what i'm talkin about...
they should've made his helmet wider and closed it in around his nose instead of it lookin like Magnetos. and his outfit should be red. but i'm thinking this is probably his somewhat original costume and with Vinnie singing on to 2 more movies i think he will get the classic costume in the sequels to come.

Whether or not the Xavier reference is made explicit in X3 will make little difference to whether Juggernaut will be a good character overall.

Wait I just thought of something, if Juggs wont be related to Xavier...then whats the point of that helmet? The reason Mags and Juggs wear them is b/c they personally know Xavier and therefore it would be easier for him to find them and stop them.

to protect his head if he rams things with it??
maybe he knows thats his weakness so he prepared.

They said they toned down his appearance, not his powers. There would be no reason to tone down his powers since they are fairly simple. He didnt have a weakness like that in the comics and I highly doubt he will in X3. If so he won't even be Juggernaut anymore if you ask me. The cool thing about his character was no one could stop him if he had that helmet on and without it only one person could stop him: Xavier.

thats what i mean, he knows hs weakness, so he wears the helmet.
he will most likely be stoppable, just not in the usual way.
i suspect that he will NOT be invulnerable to physical harm, it will just take a bigger than normal force to hurt him. like adamantium claws or a big metal fist:(
i hope they pull this off as juggernaut is my all time favourite x person

I actually didn't expect him to answer that question, and you're right, he said it wouldn't be dealt with in the movie, not that there was no relationship. You would assume however that if they ever have any screen time together and there was no reference, they wouldn't be related.
As for Nightcrawler still being a good character, he had his own storyline and purpose within the greater picture of the story. If Juggernaut is simply used as a henchman, it may well be the case that his character could have been better served by some reference to his past with Xavier. Serve up some emotion.
I guess none of us know exactly what will be happening with Juggernaut and his storyline as of yet though.

But you see I think Juggernaut should be invulnerable to harm. That way his only weakness is Xavier. And how would he know his own weakness if he's not related to Xavier. There's a reason that only Mags and Jugs wear these helmets...they're a lot more vulnerable to Xavier simply b/c they KNOW him personally. Otherwise Mags would be giving every one of his Brotherhood a helmet.

why is everyy one stressing about his helmet still. havent you seen the images of the toys/models? he has a two peice thing going on that better resembles his comic version. in the trailer it only shows the top half thats like magnetos, but the bottom half fills in around the neck making it look like a dome. i felt let down by the look in the trailer when i saw it too but when i saw the toy it looked amazing.

Yes, the helmet could have been much truer to the comic look, but this is what the guys at Fox insisted on. They came VERY close to not using a helmet at all! On the first day of shooting Juggernaut [ the scenes in the forest ], Bret wanted him to not wear it. When it was pointed out that he ALWAYS wore his helmet, someone got on the phone to Marvel and got the specifics as to when he could and could not have it on. He will have it on for most of the time, but a few scenes without it.

actually, I have to say.. some of the stuff i've seen with wolverine for x3 looks amazing though, and I think they are pushing all the action scenes to the limit for this final battle. there is a fight between (minor spoilers) juggernaut and wolverine, and wolverine gets kicked in the stomach while on his knees, he flies through the roof and lands in the next room through the ceiling a few seconds later(a seperate stuntman falls through the next room ceiling), all done in one shot. looks so badass

Why the hell does Sabertooth have wolverine claws???
Sabretooth is based on the Ultimate X-Men version of Sabretooth...who has 8 adamantium claws instead of none. He did it to "one-up" Logan. So that's your answer.
Colossus looks almost exactly like the ML one....
He is a remold of ML Colossus...that's why he looks so similiar. Easy way to make a new Piotr figure.

If they follow the comics closely...if she touches Juggernaut for 1 minute, she keeps his powers for 60 minutes...if I remember that correctly...it's however long she touches a person x60, right? I think so.
But seeing as how they did it in X2 with Pyro, I'm betting she'd only have his powers as they were needed for the scenes. I mean we don't know if she'll actually touch Juggernaut or not, but it's possible.

And the Juggernaut look isn't always specified and constant, therefore, variation should be allowed. That variation is usually decided based on many things:

That face is more rediculous than Marvel giving Ultimate Sabretooth adamantium claws!! Then again...
And why, exactly, if Marvel's going to give Ultimate Sabretooth adamantium claws, did they give him only four, as opposed to five?:o It seems to me, that if the artists and writers fit that fourth claw in there, over by 'tooth's pinky, they could easily have fit another claw on the outward side next to each of Ultimate Sabretooth's first index fingers. I mean, if they're going to mess up Sabrethooth, why not go all the way?!!
No offense to anyone who likes the idea of Sabretooth having adamantium claws!:O

It's actually funny...when Sabretooth in Ultimate X-Men reveals his claws, Wolverine makes fun of him about it. Saying that Sabretooth must of had to put in a lot of thought to "one-up" Logan with two extra claws.

It is kind of funny--I agree, there. I think giving Sabretooth those claws, though, really demonstrates the writer's running out ideas. It's better off, then, that they killed Sabretooth in the Ultimate series. I mean, we've got Ultimate Sabretooth with claws, and X-23 with claws--why should anyone but Wolverine (or Albert, robot Wolverine) have adamantium claws that so-closely resemble Wolverine's? I find it ruins the uniqueness of Wolverine's character. That's just me, though. The point is that Sabretooth is so big and tough, he doesn't even need adamantium claws.

While I agree with you a lot...It never bothered me that Ultimate Sabretooth had the four claws, it seemed like somethign Ultimate Sabretooth would do to try to undermine Logan and one-up him.
Oh and when did they kill off Ultimate Sabretooth, I haven't read Ultimate X-Men in a while, but I don't remember him dying. I remember Wolverine "waking up first" after their cliff fall, but I didn't think that killed Sabretooth. Last issue I read of Ultimate X-Men was the one after Beast died...in the 40's area of the comic run...so did they finalyl say Sabretooth was dead?

To be honest, the first issue of Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk is the only Ultimate comic I've ever read. But it's my understanding that Ultimate Wolverine cut Ultimate Sabretooth's head off--and that Ultimate Sabretooth returned to haunt him (maybe metaphorically). I believe wikipedia.com mentions Utimate Wolverine decapitating Ultimate Sabretooth.

There fight in the early issues of Ultimate X-Men ended with Logan saying that they took a dive off a cliff and Logan woke up first. It was left at that, nothing else was said IF IF IF I remember correctly.

From Wikipedia.com: "Other changes in the new continuity involve Sabretooth, Wolverine's archnemesis, who now became a high ranking officer of the Weapon X program. Wolverine knocked Sabretooth off a cliff whilst battling at their arctic head quarters after watching Sabretooth burn all records of his past. In a later battle between the X-Men and Brotherhood of Mutants, Wolverine decapitated a charging Sabertooth who returned with a scar on his neck to haunt him."

The first time i saw juggernauts full body costume i cringed. His outfit looked like it was going in such a different direction from his portrait. The IMDB photo of Juggernaut in a hotel room is quite obviously Vinnie Jones' stunt double. It looks nothing like him. I've never known Jones to be capable of such a deer-in-the-headlights look. And from what I've seen of the trailer and promo shots, he doesn't have that much hair on his torso either. So a double or a psycho fan who already has the costume replicated. Either way, I'm not concerned.
Though I do think Juggs needs to be wider at the shoulders than he is. They have him rather straight up and down rather than hugely bulky above the waist, as he should be. *shrug* We can't always get what we want, I suppose.
marty mcfly
02-27-2006, 03:21 PM
hair on his torso? its a muscle suit... they aren't gonna make the stunt double's muscle suit be hairier than the main actor's. its him, just look at all the other pictures of him on imdb.
Kirby&Ditko

The IMDB photo IS Vinnie Jones in his trailer on set. His stunt double, while wearing the same torso as Vinnie [altered to fit him better], did not look that much like Vinnie in the face [but with the helmet on, you really can not tell]. Vinnie is a humorous guy, and he's mugging for the camera.

Yep go look at him when Omahyra is using her powers he looks HUGE. And the effects are still being touched up go watch the teaser trailer and the new one and look at the effect with Cyclops beams. They look noticeably better.

I'm looking forward to seeing Juggs in the movie. I hope he has at some good lines. If he's in the sequel I hope they then give his relationship with Xavier some time. Though if the Prof croaks then it makes it difficult but on the other hand it would give a good opportunity for him to go good because of guilt. It would be a different spin to the way he went good in the comics.

I don't know why, but I mostly consider that sort of answer as a "yes".
Yeah, I would think his helmet blocks telepathy. At first, I thought that Magneto made the helmet for him with his magnetism power, but I noticed that it was already on him when he was being held captive on the truck. Why else would he wear the helmet?
TNC9852002
03-16-2006, 03:31 AM
Well, I think Juggernaut's helmet would have to be something that would tie into the storyline (i.e., we've already seen that he uses it to help him break through walls). If there's something else to it, whatever it is, it might not be what we think it's for, so if it was related to something that's already been established (immunity to mental attacks), it could be considered a spoiler, but even if not, it still might be a spoiler, so, it's hard to say...
These movies have a tendency to make things more complex and interesting as originally designed, so with the helmet APPARENTLY being already on Juggernaut when Magneto frees him, it certainly raises a few other questions that possibly the movie will have to let us in on...

Perhaps Magneto already knows Juggernaut? If thats the case i'd still like the stepbrother bit put in. I remember correctly Matthew Vaughn was going to do that.
Yeah, it does raise a few questions. There's one thing I don't get. Why would the government let Juggernaut wear what he wears now in the movie when they were holding him? His helmet and his knuckles thing? I mean, I'd expect him to be in an orange jumpsuit.

How do you change a man's clothes when as soon as he starts moving, you can't do anything to stop him?.. :p They probably kept him in whatever he was wearing when they caught him, kept him suspended, and called it a day.. :D
I dunno...For something like that, like why he's in what he's in, there couldn't possibly be too far of a reasoning behind it from what I mentioned...If there is, it'll probably be something on a larger scale, giving explanation to why most of the other mutant captives seemingly won't be wearing any particular uniform prisonwear...

I doubt we'll get the whole thing in the movie.
Haha, you got a point. Keep him still, they must.

eh, I'm diggin it. Society's rejects and outcasts. I don't see them wearing khakis and polo shirts and I don't see them wearing fancy costumes to call attention to themselves either (Magneto's I think as more of a royal "king of the mutants" thing he has going). Everybody else pretty much wears either regular clothing (well regular to me anyway) or suits that have something to do with their power (Juggernaut's harness as opposed to t-shirt).
...Toad and Sabretooth still looked the coolest though. :D

The only piercing we've seen so far is Callisto's labret. As for style in their designs, these are the mutants who have been kicked out of their own lives because of their mutations. They're homeless. What are they supposed to be wearing?
