This isnt about who is the strongest villian, its about who is the most evil, kaniving(sp), and always gave the hero the most trouble in the history of the comic book world.
The Candidates
1. Ruthless Joker - Perhaps batman's greatest villian of all time. He was maniacle, evil , mean and jsut downright nasty at some points especially in the comics he always had joker gas or he was carving up one of his victim's faced with his joker knife or any other deadly weapon. Joker's downfall was he was just 2 crazy for his own good, and he had multiple opportunities to kill batman but had he killed batman he problably would of killed himself.
2. Kingpin - New Yorks most hardened criminal mastermind and NY's largest. This was a man who didnt take no for an answer and always found ways to decieve the police and give spiderman, daredevil and his marvel counterparts trouble in his time. Wilson fisk the man who led mobs, kidnapped family members, killed people to obtain his power. His downfal was he was 2 greedy for his own good (pun intended) with his craving for power je never stopped until he controlled the world which didnt happen.
3. Magneto - X-men's greatest enemy with the exception of apoc and onslaught, here was a guy who was best friends with Prof X in their childhood until he obtained his powers and wanted to kill off the humans and keep the mutants alive. He has control over all magnetic sources in the world which fuel his power and desire to crush human life. His downside was he was 2 close to Xavier to ever destroy him thus taking down the whole x-men crew.
4. Dr. Doom - Famous foe of the FF4, here's a guy who was victor von doom the most powerful man in his state until that accident on the ship changed him completely. Not only did his skin begin to turn to some kind of alloy he also lost his long time love sue storm to stretch armstrong reed richards which fueled his desire for revenge. He always had to go 1-4 with the ff4 and he managed to son them time and time again. His powers are eerily similiar to magneto's but he controls electricity and uses his knowledge in science to fuel his powers. His downside he became 2 greedy
5. Lex Luthor - Not the strongest of foe's but he always managed to son superman time and time again with his power and status in society. He was 10000 smarter than superman and could never be blamed for crimes especially the ones he committed because he knew superman couldnt convict him. His downside was he had no powers but if he did he would of killed superman immediately.
6. Venom - Spiderman's greatest villian and ally in the spiderman series. Eddie Brock long time journalist (writer) for the daily until he is fired by JJJ for poor work performance in which he blamed parker and swore his revenge for JJJ. He had the chance when one time black/blue symbiote found brock and transformed him into the all powerful venom monster which his powers fueled by his rage and inability to attone for his past life mistakes. His downside was having to fight the greatest comic book ever in spiderman, and high pitched noises destroying the symbiote suit.
7. There are plenty others but im naming the main 6 if you disagree state who you think and give an explanation why dont b*Tch about my list make your own. Thanks

Frankly, I don't think you're listing enough villains. There are plenty of other villains that can match Magneto and Doom. Those are just the most well known villains.
But I can understand why. Because I think if Magneto and Doomed teamed up, they'd be a ***** to take down.

Venom knows who Spider-Man really is and Ock has still caused Spidey waaaaaaay more trouble than Venom has.Ditto with Green Goblin.
I find Venom very overrated and overused.
I have nothing against symbiote villains.I love Carnage. But Venom has got nothing on GG and Ock.They are Spider-Man's big time foes.Always have been and always will be.

that was a ploy the writers used to make it seem that way. Dock ock and gg have more appearances but spidey's tougher fights have always been against venom because venom is spiderman x 10. Anythnig spidey can do venom can do better and counter spidey's attacks.
I always see spidey web dock ocks glasses until he finally wore spider webs repellents and he gets goblin off his glider he's useless. Venom is more of a physical challenge, plus by him knownig his identity he can attack at anytime. The writers didnt use venom to hiis full decor
Joker!

Rhino is also a great physical challenge.Doesn't make him Spidey's greatest villain.
Of course Spidey has webbed Ock's glasses or knocked Goblin off his glider.Every villain has weaknesses.
Add a little fire or a little sound and bye bye symbiote off Eddie Brock.

1- Doctor Doom - This man has dedicated his entire life to showing us fools the true way we should live our life; under his benevolent rule. Blast that damn Reed Richards and his pathetic family, they always stop the world's progress to the utopia it should be.
2- Joker - An evil, sadistic son of a *****, and he knows it. This is a guy who'd have as much fun skinning someone as he would playing Hungry Hungry Hippos (and he'd look for a way to combine the two).
3- Green Goblin - Why don't more villains just do what this guy did? You wanna find out who your enemy is; just follow him home one day. Then drop the love of his life off a bridge (after doing the nasty with her, of course).
4- Zoom - How do you make a great villain for the fastest man alive? Get someone faster. This psycho actually wants to help make the Flash a better hero, by running him through the most intense gauntlet of events in Wally's young life.
5- Lex Luthor - The pinnacle of human greatness, he's rich, popular, and powerful. Unfortunately, he's overshadowed by that alien invader known as "Superman". How can everyone be so blind? That monster in a cape is just biding his time, waiting until the right time for him to rule the world. And Luthor will be there to stop him.

This should be in MISC. Since it's in marvel, none of the marvel fanboys will admit Joker is 1,000 times better than Doom. Joker has no Joker-bots. He does things himself. He's killed Jason, crippled Barbara, and helped in a plan to break Batman. He's completely evil. There is no good in him.
What has Doom done? Everything he has done, it's really a Doombot:o

I am a marvel fanboy, but I agree with you that the Joker is bad to the bone. He is the most ruthless D.C. villain because he just kills people....straight up....he shoots and asks questions later. If this was for D.C. villains alone I would vote Joker...but its not, so I voted Magneto, doesn't mean I dont respect the Jokers abilities though.

07-22-2005, 11:19 PM
Magneto isn't a villian IMO. He's more of an anti-hero because you understand his hate of humanity since he witnessed the holocaust. He's a great character nontheless, but Joker is more of a villian.

The poll is for the most evil villian, not necessarily the coolest. Look, Thanos has attempted to nuke the universe several times, but that's because he wanted to impress his girlfriend. Adam Warlock also got in his face about screwing up his own plans because he didn't really want to succeed. High body count or not, that doesn't necessarily make him or the Joker the most evil. Also, you can't respect a villian who isn't trying to win. That's just silly.
You want evil?
Kid Miracleman.
In his first appearance as a villian, he killed his secretary for spilling coffee, threw a small child at a building (yes I'm Superman, and I'll help you fly), and beat the hell out of his old mentor for the fun of it. He actually owned himself by accidentally saying his "Miracleman"
In his second villianous appearance, he started by ripping off the head of a kid who tried to rape him, ripped off another kid's arms and punched through the head of a nurse, who he admitted was the nicest person to him at the orphange.
And then he got nasty.
He killed several thousand people in London, one woman he ripped off her arms and tore out her eyes. He rained one street with hands and feet, flayed several people alive and hung their skin on a clothesline. He made a checkerboard out of human breasts and made a rope of human guts wrapped around a building. He threw dozens of cars in the air, with the motorists still in them. He tore off the heads of men, women and babies, he impaled people alive by the dozens, he ripped off heads and made a giant necklace out of them. He blew off the arm of a warpsmith, beat up Miracleman (and set him on fire, using a gasoline truck that had a driver in it)... There were panels where there were large hills of human bodies and deep pools of blood scattered throught the city. Oh, and he trashed a good number of building while he was at it.
It's not that he had a high bodycount, it's that he was so ****ing nasty in the way he went about it.

Shadowknight
07-22-2005, 11:56 PM
He was the sidekick of Miracleman, a Captain Marvel knockoff in Britain in the 50's (both were originally Marvelman/Kid Marvelman, but they had to change the names once they started publishing stories in America). Alan Moore got the rights to use the characters in a revival, of sorts, in the early 80's. He published the first few stories in a British mag called "Warrior." He finished his stories, and reprinted the early ones in a series from Eclipse (no longer in business). Neil Gaiman started a run after Moore, but it got cancelled halfway through his second storyline.
Oh, and the Leader, from "The Hulk" should be on the poll as well.

Doom is so much above all other villains, it is frankly unfair to have him on this list, which only serves to humilate the other "villains" as they look up to him and see the sort of villain they WISH they were.
He's famous. He has so much to him, skills, knowledge, a personality and motivation that makes sense. And he is INFINITELY more of a threat to a hero or hero team than a guy like Joker could ever be. Joker would be second for me, simply because he is so cool and stuff. But simply BEING evil isn't enough for me, any time I see Batman vs Joker, the Joker quickly ends up getting his ass handed to him. In fact, I feel that too many comics/cartoons, and even the movie, show that the Joker doesn't really come across like an equal to Batman in any field, and that simply is not on for someone who is supposed to be the ARCH enemy of someone.
DOOM rocks blocks. Even if you were to forget the cool mask, the whole outfit, the endless knowledge of...everything, the hilariously pompous and condescending way he talks down to everyone, the way a non powered human causes so much trouble to a team of 4 superpowered heroes, the fact that the heroes in the Marvel world are all wary of him as an extremely dangerous man....
His NAME alone should win this contest. :D:D

I'ma go with the gigantigan Galactus! Why? A'cause he's so powerful, he just gives other normal people incredible super cosmic super powers that just put most other superhumans to shame, and has THEM beat everybody up. Or, he just puts on his shield and walks through the "pathetic" attempts of supertypes, not even really caring about them, like they're nothing. Or maybe cause he used to have a big purple "G" on his chest. Either way. He has to exist in every universe to keep Abrax (sp?) from getting out and destroying everything anyway. lol THAT'S how important and powerful he is.

I say Red Skull simply because of what he stood for. When I say that he is the greatest villain-I amthinking in terms of how evil is he and the reaons for his ecil actions. Magneto has tragedy as motivation, Joker is just a nutcase, Luthor and Kingpin are just power hungry. Venom is a product of an alien and an inferiority complex thus Doom would be my 2nd choice.
rigel7soldiers
07-25-2005, 04:02 PM
You know who else is a good Manga villain? Vicious.
if we're talking most dangerous, i'd have to go with either Thanos or Galactus. Doom is ambitious but normally limits himself to ruling the world. Thanos wanted all of existence. and he's just naturally tougher (doesn't need armor). Galactus because destruction, to him, is like breathing to us. a handful of cowardly villians might tremble at the name 'Doom' but Galactus scares the piss out of several species; earthborn and other.
if we're talking 'evilest,' i'd nominate the Purple Man or Red Skull. points go to Red Skull for having always been evil. Purple Man's a johnny-come-lately who would be a joke if not for Alias, imo.
as for 'greatest' villain, i'm going with Magneto. under Claremont, he was like Dr Doom done right imo. his background is instantly relatable as is his cause. physically, he's as dangerous as an atom bomb (ex. a weaker version ripped Apocalypse in half). i mean there's a reason why the government greated the Magneto protocols, the russians are trying to assassinate him, and Genosha is under mutant control. he's just a well-made villain and cooler than Doom in some ways i.e. doesn't have to beg for s*x, use robot duplicates, or make boastful speeches. the Acolytes worshipped him just because of his charisma. that's the kind of villain that i like.

Joker never carved up his victims in the comics. he usually either shot them or gassed them. Also Joker is not too crazy for his own good, his craziness is what has kept him as Batman's greatest foil
Wilson Fisk never wanted to control the world...in fact the largest piece of territory he ever controlled was Hell's Kitchen. Wilson Fisk also has not "led mobs" in fact Wilson Fisk is the head of all crime in Hell's Kitchen. He has henchmen but he is not a mere mob leader. Also he is DareDevil's villian, Spider-Man was more a passing nuasence to him.
WAYYYYY off
-Magneto was not Xaviers childhood friend. Xavier did not meet him until he was well into his twenties.
-Magneto's Power has nothing to do with his desire to crush human life. Number 1) Magneto was imprisoned in a nazi concentration camp disallusioning him to humanity. Number 2) his children were taken from him and his wife was killed by an angry gathering...this is when his powers manifested
-The X-Men routinely take down Magneto, they have killed, mind wiped, and even imprisoned Magneto
4. His downside he became 2 greedy
wow....uhhh where do I start
Doom does not have powers...he wheres a metal suit. Furthermore he never was on the voyage with the Fantastic Four. Doom was Victor Von Doom a young boy whose family was killed by an oppressive Latverian government due to the fact that they were gypsies. Doom, a brillant child, pursued education at ESU and met his first "friend" Reed Richards. Reed was involved in an experiment designed to contact Doom's mother that backfired and scarred Doom horribly. Doom was horrified that he had been made imperfect so he wandered into the land of Tibet where the mystic Monks who had trained his mother made him a suit of armor with the power of a nuclear reactor. Doom put the mask of this suit on while it was still hot and burned his face beyond recognition. From there he plotted. Upon learning of a buried treasure Doom enlisted the FF by capturing Sue (whom he never previously met) and made them enter a time portal to retrieve a device. Reed tricked Doom and Doom fled. Doom would go on to use his SUIT OF ARMOR to overthrow the Latverian government and ascede to the thrown
Lex Luthor has had krytonite battle suits. He really never had a downfall. he has always been surrounded by elites, whether they be villians, politicians, or bussinessmen. Lex Luthor's strength is adapting to every situation, whether it be good or ill. Lex has been president and has always stayed two steps ahead of his opponents. You might even say he is an evil Batman of sorts
His downside was having to fight the greatest comic book ever in spiderman, and high pitched noises destroying the symbiote suit.
ultra sonic frequencies
He had no "past mistakes". In fact Eddie was the perfect child. Straight A's, star athlete, hard worker...only one problem. His father never once complimented him on any of his accomplishments, never once gave him a pat on the back. Eddie as a result saw no potential in himself. That is what the Venom suit gave him...power and potential. He finally fealt like a man his father would have been proud of
7. There are plenty others but im naming the main 6 if you disagree state who you think and give an explanation why dont b*Tch about my list make your own. Thanks
next time research the characters before openning your mouth
Lex Luthor...anyone who is human and can stand up to Superman time and time again is a fine villain in my opinion.

Dr Doom is the greatest comic book villain of all time in my opinion.:doom:
He is the premier villain of the Marvel Universe, sure he is mostly one of the Fantastic Four's main villains but he has also crossed paths with Spider Man,Daredevil,The Hulk,The Silver Surfer,The Punisher,The X Men and The Avengers a few times.
And I think that masked villains are more interesting than villains who look normal.

Actually, Fisk was at one point a member of Hydra and tried to help them take over the world. However, he realized that world domination is an unnecesairy and costly goal, so he just went back to being New York's biggest crime lord.

Legato can do that, but making a guy rip his own heart out is much more cruel. Then he made everyone else shoot each other... making them stop breathing means there'd be no blood. Legato thinks his powers make him the greatest thing in all creation; he would have destroyed mankind altogether, but decided to pull a fast one and make his pacifist foil kill him.

i beg to differ. having a guy pull his own heart out is cruel...to the guy missing a heart. Purple Man very casually killed a restaraunt full of complete strangers because he didn't want to be disturbed while he was eating. we're possibly talking about little kids, someone's parents, siblings all suddenly not being able to breathe because of some psycho. and suffocation isn't exactly a quick death like having your heart removed. they probably sat there in complete shock for a minute before they succumbed to asphyxia. he's also had people murder others and then let them live. i'd say that's as cruel as it gets.
When did that happen?
i don't know that it did but Magneto has said on more than 1 occassion that he would kill his own children if they got in his way. the Ultimate version used a machine gun on Quicksilver's legs after years and years of emotional abuse (asking Cyclops to call him "father" when Quicksilver was around to make him jealous).

he killed Sanyaka and Fabian Cortez; quite nonchalantly. :)
so much so that once he thought he had killed Kitty Pryde and then ended up wheeping and letting the X-Men go.
that was because 1) Kitty is jewish and 2) she's a little girl. consider that he weeps only after trying to kill the other Xmen. what Mags was surprised at was that he almost hurt an innocent; one who reminded him of his family members (Anya especially) no doubt.
Magneto wants whats best for all mutants. He in his minds thinks he is saving them.
when he's being written well. many writers just want him to be a 1-dimensional self-serving terrorist. those writers suck.
Also Magneto does cherish his children as shown in Vision/Scarlet Witch series, He almost lost them once
or maybe it has more to do with his pride. he cherish's his children's obedience. he wants them at his side because it's humiliating to have his own flesh and blood oppose him. btw, that appearance in Vision/Scarlet Witch was a very good story.

again, it's not how powerful the villain is but what they do with that power. this Legato individual sounds dangerous but not in the same way the Purple Man is. Purple Man is a villain without honor; absolutely no reservations against hurting the innocent. in truth, he thinks that we're all comic book characters and that what he's doing is beyond morality. killing everyone in a busy town square sounds impressive. but for it to happen in 2 seconds would mean that his victims wouldn't feel anything. if he did what he boasted of, it would be to demonstrate his power. contrast that with the Purple Man. he engages in mass murder to alleviate boredom. he gets off on it. he wouldn't kill everyone in a busy town square in 2 seconds. he (like he does in Alias) would command everyone on a crowded city street to turn to their neighbor and beat them to death. could you imagine being in that crowd, beating another innocent person to death, and being unable to defend yourself as the person next to you is doing the same? Purple Man's a sadist.

Here's my countdown of my top ten favourite villains. I know this probably doesn't go along with the "Greatest Comic Book Villain" idea, because I have some strange choices in my Top Ten. But between deciding on lists based on who's the most evil, or powerful, or iconic, I thought that having a list based on personal preference was just as valid.
10. SCARECROW
A fascinating cerebral opponent for Batman. I like him because he brings an element of horror to Gotham City, looking like something out of a nightmare. Fear is such a strong emotion within us all, so having someone who can control it is a genuinely unnerving thought. Something that makes Scarecrow extremely interesting is that, in fighting him, heroes will often be forced to confront their own personal demons as well as Scarecrow himself.
9. THE GREEN GOBLIN
Spider-Man's most hated foe, Norman Osborn deserves on the list purely for all the hell he has put Peter Parker through. As The Green Goblin, he is a twisted, devious villain, with an array of deadly gizmos at his disposal. But even in his alter ego, Norman Osborn, he is an iconic portrayal of villainy. Haunted by the loss of his son, driven by the need for vengeance on Spider-Man, he devises cold, calculated methods of destroying Peter Parker. The Green Goblin is one person you DO NOT want knowing about your personal life.
8. DR. DOOM
A classic villain. All of the would-be world conquerors who have followed him have something to owe to Dr Doom. Even Darth Vader has elements of Doom. He's Marvel's top dog of vilainy, and many would call him the best bad guy in comics. So why is he so low on my list? Well, just as a hero is only as good as his villains, a villain is only as good as his heroes. And I have never been that into The Fantastic Four. But still, an excellent villain.
7. LEX LUTHOR
Manipulative. Ambitious. Ruthless. Lex Luthor is a villain who can be both charismatic and cruel. Want an example? Here's one. Luthor enters a cafe. He offers the waitress serving him 1 million dollars if she'll spend a month with him. But he leaves before she can decide. We learn it's a game he plays at roadside stops, designed to torment poor women. He takes pleasure in leaving them questioning for the rest of their lives how their lives might have turned out if they had taken Lex up on his offer. No killing, not even a crime involved. But in my opinion, this small act of cruelty is more powerful than anything Dr Doom has ever done.
6. THANOS
The Green Goblin has Spider-man for an enemy. Lex Luthor wants to bring down Superman. But Thanos doesn't target a hero for destruction: he targets the entire universe! And what makes Thanos such an excellent villain is that he has actually succeeded in the past! The Mad Titan is obsessed with Death, it's female incarnation to be precise. And he wants to erase as much life as he can to appease her. Originally created as a Darkseid knock-off, Thanos has actually far surpassed his inspiration, becoming a superior villain in his own right. In his own words - "You address omnipotence. Tread carefully."
5. MAGNETO
If this was based on powers, Magneto would be top of the list. He has quite possibly the coolest superpower in comicdom - mastery of magnetism. Not only can he move huge metal objects at will, but he can even manipulate the iron in your blood. But it isn't just his great powers that earn him this high ranking. Magneto is such a complex character. He believes he is acting for the greater good, to enhance the mutant race. And some of the time, his arguments seem more valid than Xavier's. But when it comes down to it, he's still a villain. Not because he follows a different ideology. But because he insists you do too.
4. TWO-FACE
There's nothing better than a well-written villain. And Two-Face is one of the best-written villains out there. Once the District Attorney of Gotham City, the left side of Harvey Dent's face was severely disfigured by acid, creating the ruthless criminal Two-Face. What makes Two-Face so good is that he's not one, but two great characters. Harvey Dent is a tormented man, haunted by past demons, and tormented by what he has become. Two-Face is a sinister figure, unleashing his own twisted brand of "justice", with life and death decided on the flip of a coin. He serves as a dark mirror image of Batman, and has a close personal link to him. Whenever Batman has to fight his old friend, it weighs on his soul.
3. BULLSEYE
One of the deadliest men on the planet, Bullseye can turn any object into a lethal weapon, using his perfect aim to kill people with everything from knives to paper-clips. He's a hired assassin, one of the best, but due to the fact that's he totally psychotic, he'll also kill random people for fun. He's arguably Daredevil's most hated enemy, having killed not one, but two of his loves. Beat that Osborn!
2. DOCTOR OCTOPUS
Spider-Man's REAL top foe. Doctor Octopus works excellently as an antithesis to Spider-Man. While Peter Parker has used his knowledge in science for the good of mankind, Otto Octavious was consumed by it, and uses it to his own ends. An accident left four metalic limbs grafted to his body, and he was granted complete mental control over them. People don't come up with concepts like that anymore! Battles between Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus are among the most dynamic in comics. All Doctor Octopus needs to finally reach the absolute pinnacle of villainy is a classic story, given writers that are actually worthy of the character.
1. THE JOKER
The Clown Prince Of Crime. The Harlequin Of Hate. The Ace Of Knaves. The definitive comic book villain. The Joker is the perfect nemesis for Batman. It's order versus chaos, good versus evil at its most pure. The Joker is intelligent, often able to match wits with Batman. But he's also completely insane. But don't let the laugh full you - he's anything but funny. At his best, he's absolutely terrifying. He represents everything Batman has sworn to stand against. Without The Joker, there would be no Batman - its as simple as that. The Joker is the greatest comic book villain of all time. End of story.

I'm a Doom man myself, I'm glad to see the panel where Captain America asks how he can speak in Capitals - genius.
I think Loki deserves more credit, that guy never stopped scheming and had a big hand setting in motion the end of Asgard (Until the relaunch :0)
Always thought Nefaria was pretty badass as villians go, so is Kang.
Luthor and Joker are also special, DC heroes have never really interested me, but those guys are always worth checking up on - both brilliant villians.
I will say I don't really see Galactus as a bad dude, again, he just simply exists, he has incalculable power and does some pretty badass stuff with it but he never comes across as outright evil.

hmm. i don't know. i think Magneto would have a hard time killing Wanda because 1) she's his daughter and 2) she looks like his dead wife. by contrast, i don't think it'd take much of a reason for him to kill Pietro. he holds Pietro to a higher standard because 1) he's his son and 2) they resemble each other. looking at it from Magneto's point of view, Pietro is a humongous failure. he hasn't even tapped his own genetic potential. he's directionless; seriously, what would Quicksilver being doing right now if there was no House of M? he sired a human child and pined over an inhuman half breed. he's made it quite clear that he hates his father and, speculatively, aids humans as a form of rebellion; ask yourself what Pietro really thinks of humans. now compare that description to Exodus. yeah, i think Magneto would kill him without hesitation if his son were to oppose him. that's not to say that he wouldn't welcome him with open arms if he were 100% obedient. it's just quite obvious that he doesn't have the love for Pietro that he does Wanda; alpha male syndrome.

wow....uhhh where do I start
Doom would go on to use his SUIT OF ARMOR to overthrow the Latverian government and ascede to the thrown.
You forgot to mention that Doom is a master sorcerer. He even trained with Strange, And Strange commented that Doom could be more powerful than himself one day.

Onslaught. no contest. during AoA, an old Magneto at half power beat Apocalypse in a solo fight. Onslaught is a full powered Magneto combined with Professor X, Franklin Richards, Juggernaut, and X-Man. there's a reason why Apocalypse was just chatting with the Watcher/staying far away from the battle during that story. powerful he may be but not Onslaught level.

nah itsn ot dum just where im coming from you know. Sometimes the tv goes into better character explanation than comics do from my experience. Liek for example in spiderman TAS kingpin is portrayed as a ruthless psychopath, a manipulator, a man who will risk his wife and son for the bettermen of "business". Okay, you want to know about comic Kingpin? Well, in the comics, Daredecil's girlfriend, Karen Page, became a drug addict. Desperate for a fix, she sold Daredevil's secret identity - Matt Murdock. This found it's way into the hands of none other than The Kingpin.
The Kingpin then began systematically destroying Matt Murdock's life. He blew up his home. He destroyed his career. He turned his loved ones against him. And when Murdock, with nothing to lose, tried to confront Fisk, The Kingpin beat him to within an inch of his life. Then he pumped Murdock full of drugs, and left him in an alley to die of a drugs overdose, disgraced and alone.

Go to your nearest book store/comic shop and pick up Essential Amazing Spider-Man Volumes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6
You'll notice very quickly that Venom hasn't even touched Green Goblin when it comes to villain status. You can't judge villains on your cartoon viewing. There are 40 plus years of comic book history behind Spider-Man. And Venom, while a great villain in his own respect, ranks behind Goblin and Doctor Octopus without a shadow of a doubt....and you can ask ANY Spider-Man fan that.
You need some comic education, son. I've pointed you in the right direction.

Kingpin drugged Matt and left him in a taxi cab that he pushed to the bottom of the Hudson. Mat managed to escape then ended up in an alley way.
The Kingpin also hired Typhoid Mary to seduce and kill Matt Murdock. He eventually sent four villians (Bushwacker, Shotgun (thats what they say in the issue summary but it is actually the guy he fought in Fall of the Mutants), Bullet, and Typhoid) to systematically trying to kill Matt Murdock. When they were confident of their success they dropped him off a bridge into a park where he was left to die. One of Mary's split personalities saved him

nah itsn ot dum just where im coming from you know. Sometimes the tv goes into better character explanation than comics do from my experience. Liek for example in spiderman TAS kingpin is portrayed as a ruthless psychopath, a manipulator, a man who will risk his wife and son for the bettermen of "business". He was scorned as a child and the backlash followed him into adulthood. Here we have wilson fisk a man that just wants to be accepted into society but was scorned earleir.
How do they depict him in the comics???????yeah but I bet you do not know Kingpin's origin back to his early childhood like I do...how he washed his hands in the gutter to clean the blood off and was instantly hooked to killing.
Or I bet you cannot pyschologically break down Iceman who has had issues devoted to his past
Or I bet you've never read into Hulk that deeply. In the comic books for a time Hulk's ID, EGO and SUPEREGO (parts of frueds pyschie) manifested themselves into actually beings.
Or how about Wolverine, tell me his origin completely with break down because it takes me about 25 minutes to do that
Or what about Venom...you had no idea about his past, I corrected that part of your post

Though he was a member of the Acts of Vengence, along with Dr. Doom, Mags, the Wizard and the Mandarin.thats true...but Acts was more of a comic gimmick rather than a true to life series. Kingpin typically stays out of world takeovers

heck, the Wizard was a part of that meaning. shows you how serious that storyline was.

I know. I just read "Severance Package" (Tangled web of Spider-Man #4).
Guy runs a tight ship. Like clockwork. No second chances. The story is, after Fisk fired you, you snapped, and tried to kill him. He defended himself.
About the Wizard; I know his status as Reed Richards' other archenemy isn't that impressive, and that he's run afoul of Doom in the past, but... He watches the Daily Show. He's awesome.
Although, he needs to check his facts before he prints them in his magazine. Ba-Zing!

For those of you that don't know. Jplaya2023 is currently the most loathed and least respected poster here at the Hype. Yes even more so than DevilHulk. Many of us have come to a few similar conclusions about Jplaya
He is either
A) A complete imbicile and knows nothing of comics except what he gets from the back of ceral and video game boxes. (which actually makes him funny to laugh AT, not with)
B) Posts the most ignorant and annoying statements possible just to hear people make fun of him because he is in desperate need of attention. (Which makes him a complete douche and should be kicked)
or
C) He is a combination of both A and B and is probably only 12 or so.
So just do what I do and ignore him. :D

Thank you :D  Greatly appreciated :D But I have to disagree with you, Lex although a great criminal mind, and possibly the greatest HUMAN criminal mind. Along with Doom. Still can't touch this guy, I mean that's Hulk and Drax at the same time with one hand.
