I'm sure she will. She seems to like her role, the character, the director and everything. She couldnt make it to X-Men 2's premires because she was filming Gothika but she hasnt got anything for May I dont think. Only Perfect Stranger which is filming now.

The TRL stuff is great
http://24.221.29.102/Media/TRL_X2_Edition.asf

The only problem is that since it's a Hugh site, they edited the interview so only Hugh was in everything. As a result, you miss the other hilarious introductions, particularly when James Marsden and Rebecca Romijn come out. They ask Romijn about being naked on the set, and then people chime in that she was naked at the dinner parties too. Watching them pass the Halle mask (Jimmy would hold it too) was very funny. Also, when the host tried to dig at Halle, watch the cast's reaction. That isn't the reaction of people pretending to like someone.

I, too, hope the DVD includes footage of the premieres. The X1 DVD was so much more fun than the X2 DVD. Even though X2 was loaded with stuff, it just didn't have the same sense of humor that X1.5 did.

Here's some videos of interviews Hugh did while promoting X-2 - the Parkinson one was really good (they show the morphing clip with Hugh and the ladies and he explains how it was done) and listen to Hugh talk about not being "the master of his domain" in the Leno interview.

I actually found that story on a blog and it linked to the Daily News site. In the "talkback" section of the blog, most people mentioned Hugh for some reason - but unless he flew to NY (where this place is located), he's in LA filming a movie. One person guessed Alan Cumming. I guess that's why it's called a "blind item" - everyone guesses and you never know the answer!

Because he's a happy-go-lucky kind of guy and he played a gay man on Broadway, there are a lot of gay rumors floating around about him (wishful thinking if you ask me). Which also means since he plays Wolverine, he also really has claws! He was asked about that in an interview and was quoted as saying "I guess I'm a success, the gay rumors are starting."

the fact that they mentioned "puppy dog" has to make the blind item Famke. Almost every sighting of her has been about her walking her dog, she frequents the Amy Sacco-owned clubs, and Newsday and the NYPost have run a bunch of negative stories in the gossip columns.

What did M Night do last year? For that matter, what did hugh do last year? "Quint" from AICN is going to be there, and he describes ShoWest:

www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=22682 (http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=22682):

>>ShoWest is a theatre exhibitors conference where studios parade way early screenings, first looks at films and famous people in front of theater owners and press. They also display the newest technology, from digital projectors and cameras to 3-D technology. If you remember last year at ShoWest James Cameron and George Lucas showed off their STAR WARS in 3-D technology....

Anyway, I'll be jetting off next Tuesday, right after the AICN panel at South By and coming back just in time for SLITHER at SXSW on Friday. In that time I should be seeing footage from SUPERMAN RETURNS, HAPPY FEET, LADY IN THE WATER, POSEIDON and much more... I'm also confirming one on one interviews with some big guests of the convention.

So, keep your eye out for that next week. I should be updating from Vegas.
IMO it has more to do with what Hugh is doing THIS year rather than last year (not that he doesn't deserve the honor since he can do it all). Jude Law got the honor in 2004 and that's the year he had about 6 movies released in the space of about a month.

X3: Storm Whips It Good
Filmmakers get her ready to fly.

March 14, 2006 - Let's face it. After two movies, Storm's character development leaves something to be desired. Yeah, we got to see her do a few actiony things, when she wasn't teaching class or leading a field trip. But change is upon us. For in X-Men: The Last Stand, we can tell you this: her level of anti-Magneto action takes a big jump. Or, more to the point, a lift-off.

"Those fans that wanted to see Storm fly finally get to see that," says producer David Gorder. "She has a bigger role, she's flying, and fighting, and Halle looks really cool doing it" he adds, promising fans will see moves from her they've never seen before.

A HUGH AND CRY
By MICHAEL RIEDEL

March 22, 2006 -- A SPIRITED battle has broken out be hind the scenes for the services of Hugh Jackman, Broadway's top leading man.

Jackman's talents and tremendous box-office appeal are being sought by both the Shubert Organization, Broadway's leading landlord and the most powerful institution in the American theater, and Marc Platt, who, as the producer of the blockbuster "Wicked" and the Julia Roberts vehicle "Three Days of Rain," has emerged as one of the most influential independent producers on Broadway.

A couple of week ago, I reported that Jackman was pretty close to signing up for Platt's revival of Rodgers and Hart's "Pal Joey," scheduled to open on Broadway next year.

At the same time, Jackman was fielding an offer from the Shuberts to star in a revival of "Stop the World - I Want to Get Off."

Once the Shuberts got wind of Jackman's flirtation with "Pal Joey," they mounted a full-court press.

Shubert chief Gerald Schoenfeld, a persuasive and charming potentate to whom an actor says "no" at his own peril, was on the phone to Jackman, making the case for "Stop the World."

His efforts seem to have stalled Jackman's march to "Pal Joey" - at least for the time being.

"Hugh is very fond of Gerry," says a theater source. "So it's not just a question of turning down a powerful man, but also a friend."

But Platt, no slouch in the persuasive department, remains confident he'll be able to land Jackman, theater sources say.

After all, he's offering one of the best roles in the musical theater - Joey Evans, the handsome, gold-digging heel.

It's also a role Jackman has long wanted to play.

In addition, the score to "Pal Joey" is brimming with standards - "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered," "I Could Write a Book," "You Mustn't Kick It Around," as well as "The Lady Is a Tramp" and "My Funny Valentine," which were added to the movie starring Frank Sinatra.
"Stop the World," on the other hand, has the timeless "What Kind of Fool Am I?" but not much else in the way of standards.

Leslie Bricusse, who wrote the score with Anthony Newley, has agreed to write some new songs for the revival, but whether he can still crank out hit tunes is a gigantic question mark.

His last go-around on Broadway was "Jekyll & Hyde," for which he wrote the lyrics, and that does not inspire confidence (from the song "This Is the Moment": "Every endeavor/I have made ever/Is coming into play/Is here and now today" - yikes!).

Theater insiders are betting that, in the end, Jackman will make his triumphant return to Broadway in "Pal Joey" rather than "Stop the World."
It's simply a better show.
But all of Broadway will be watching to see how the musical theater's favorite leading man turns down the mighty Shuberts and still remains in their good graces.

Those are the ones I have saved in Photobucket - I know where there are so many more (which I may upload later)! And since this is the "cast" thread - on my way to work this morning I saw a poster on a phone booth with Rebecca advertising her new show "Pepper Dennis." And Hugh is so in demand - more on Broadway:

Liz Smith in the NY Post:

http://www.nypost.com/gossip/liz/liz.htm

...BELIEVE IT or not, the original Broad way play script for the Rodgers & Hart classic musical "Pal Joey" is being redone as you read this to bring it up to date. And as you have read, Hugh Jackman hopes to re-create his Great White Way triumph in "The Boy From Oz" by playing that rascal Joey. "Oz" was definitely Hugh's triumph! Imagine what this charismatic actor-dancer-singer might do with really excellent material. (Even people who hated "Oz" adored the star!) "Pal Joey," from an original John O'Hara story and with several successful revivals under its historical belt, would give Hugh something hefty with which to work.

Now they have to find the sexy "older woman" to play Vera, the rich keeper of the kept. And my word! There must be about a thousand over-40 actresses and stars who'd just be perfect singing, among other things, "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered." Oh, and they have to find a sharp cookie to play the reporter who rips into "Zip." Elaine Stritch rocketed to fame doing this mock striptease in the 1952 revival of "Pal Joey."

Whether or not Hugh ends up in "Pal Joey," they say he'll first tour for 60 performances in Australia with "Oz," earning himself a veritable pension fund with such an effort.

Will Hugh Jackman Stop the World or Become a Pal Joey?

By Andrew Gans
March 22, 2006

As recently reported, singer-actor Hugh Jackman — who made a Broadway splash with and received a Tony Award for his performance in The Boy From Oz — is currently in negotiations to star in a revival of Pal Joey for Wicked producer Marc Platt.

The New York Post says Jackman has another offer on his plate, a revival of Stop the World — I Want to Get Off to be produced by the Shubert Organization. Leslie Bricusse, who composed the Stop the World score with Anthony Newley, has agreed to pen a few new tunes for the production should Jackman agree to the revival.

Platt, the Post previously reported, has lined up his award-winning Wicked director, Joe Mantello, to helm the Pal Joey revival, with choreography to be supplied by Swan Lake's Matthew Bourne. Richard Greenberg, the Tony-winning Take Me Out playwright, will adapt John O'Hara's original script.

The much-sought-after Jackman has made no official comment about either production.

Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart’s Pal Joey opened at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on Christmas night 1940, playing 374 performances before closing Nov. 29, 1941. The original cast included Vivienne Segal and Gene Kelly. The Rodgers and Hart score boasts such tunes as "I Could Write a Book," "What Is a Man?," "Zip," "Pal Joey," "Happy Hunting Horn," "Chicago," "That Terrific Rainbow," "The Flower Garden of My Heart," "Den of Iniquity," "Plant You Now, Dig You Later," "Take Him" and "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered." The most recent New York staging of Pal Joey was presented by City Center Encores! That weekend of concerts featured Peter Gallagher in the title role with Tony-winning actress Patti LuPone as Vera.

Stop the World — I Want to Get Off features a book and score by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley. The original production opened at the Shubert Theatre Oct. 3, 1962, playing 555 performances before closing Feb. 1, 1964, at the Ambassador Theatre. Newley headed the cast of the musical, which features such songs as "I Want to Be Rich," "Typically English," "Once in a Lifetime" and "What Kind of Fool Am I?"

Hugh Jackman received a Tony Award for his portrayal of the late Peter Allen in The Boy From Oz. He received an Olivier Award nomination for his work in the London revival of Oklahoma! and an MO Award for his performance as Joe Gillis in the Australian production of Sunset Boulevard. Jackman's film credits include "The X-Men," "Someone Like You," "Swordfish," "Kate and Leopold" (Golden Globe nomination) and "Van Helsing."

Here's some quotes on X-Men from Hugh:

http://www.allabouthugh.com/quotes.htm

On having claws for playing Wolverine: "I miss having the claws. But, I have a little scar on my hand and there is a bigger one on my knee. With those nine inch claws, I was getting a little dangerous."

"There was a whole display set up of all the X-Men paraphernalia. My wife couldn't resist telling this 5-year-old boy that I was Wolverine. The little kid looked up at me and he was staring at me. His father was kind of batting him away, saying 'You're Wolverine! So tell me about it! When's the movie coming out? This is great. I've been waiting ~ I mean, my son has been waiting for so long!' So I was kind of focusing on the kid and I said, 'So you watch X-Men?' He goes, 'Yeah.' I said, 'Who's your favourite character?' The child's response? Cyclops."

"I'm committed to the X-Men sequel and really look forward to doing it. I really loved making the first film, but to be honest, the first six weeks on it, I was really scared. I probably didn't want to admit it a year ago, but I think the biggest fear I had was that the fans to whom it meant so much would not like it or my character, and would feel let down."

Referring to wearing the claws, Jackman said "Kind of the more I find out about it, the more of a responsibility and the more of an honor it is. Because this character in people's imagination is literally larger than life."

On the love triangle between Logan, Jean, and Cyclops: "It's explored. Who wouldn't want her?" Jackman laughs. "She's kinda hot. It definitely explores Wolverine's flirtier side. Sometimes it's hard to tell, whether he's genuinely really attracted, or whether he enjoys flirting or whether he just enjoys pissing Cyclops off. It's probably a mixture of all three. The relationship with Jean Grey, it is sexual and he is sexually attracted, but he also really likes her - I mean, in a friendly sort of way. It all hovers in there."

On Wolverine's onscreen relationships with his teammates: "One of the key relationships in this movie that's being explored is the Rogue/Logan relationship. When he meets Rogue, he doesn't want a thing to do with her. She's just a doggerd little individual that sort of tags on. After a while, Logan - without wanting or expecting it - begins to care for this little girl, and this little girl looks up to him for protection in the world. Not only in the real world, but also in the world of mutants - even in Professor Xavier's school - she still looks up to him."

"[Speaking of action figures] I find it kind of scary because I know what I was like when I was a kid, I used to feed my action figures to the squids that were off of the bay I lived near. I tore off their arms and replaced them with other limbs, stuck them with pins, freezed them and did other awful things to them. Nothing struck me as more weird than to walk into my trailer and see a full-blown punching back of myself. That's probably going to be a prize possession for a few people that I know. There's some unnerving moments."

Oh sorry, should have explained. Because it's the Kid's Choice Awards, naturally they do a lot of stuff that kids like to do. One of the big highlights is one of the celebrities gets "slimed" with green goo and they don't know about it. In 2004 when Hugh won the burping contest, Mary Kate and Ashley Olson were presenting an award and all of a sudden the ceiling opened and all this green slime came down and covered them. No one knows who gets slimed at this award show but it always happens and of course the kids eat it up.

Thought this 2002 interview with Hugh was interesting with the X-Men questions.

http://www.jackmanslanding.com/news/news-articles/arena0502.html

Does that mean they have to put other actors on boxes when they stand next to you?

Yeah, particularly as Wolverine because if you notice in the film he's never taller then anyone, except for Anna Paquin's character, and I'm taller then all of them. Poor Jimmy Marsden who plays Cyclops, I mean he's not short, he's like 5ft10in, but at one point he had inch lifts on his shoes. It was like something from The Rocky Horror Show. We watched the dailies one night and you could actually see his waist and the belt on his pants. Because we're both standing next to each other he looks kind of deformed.

Didn't your wife actively try to dissuade you from taking the part in X-men because she thought it sounded a bit naff?

She read the script pages and said "You can't do this, you've got claws and you're a mutant." When you get sent just three pages of the script it can seem a bit odd. I was working at the National Theatre at the time and it seemed a little strange, but I went off and auditioned and I didn't get it, Dougray Scott was cast. Then they said "Why don't you audition for Cyclops?" I said I didn't want to wear sunglasses for five months! When it became increasingly likely that Dougray was never going to get out of M:I2 I flew up to Toronto to audition again. I had to go and do a full screen test which is on the X-men DVD. Within six days of arriving in LA, I was in Toronto about to start my first film.

Which turned you from a virtual unknown into a global name overnight. Were you prepared for all that stuff that comes with it, such as paparazzi hanging round your house?

I don't think it had hit me how big it was, because even though it was a big film, I didn't have time to work out what it could do for my career, plus those three months after I came back from filming, people weren't "Oh my God, you're in X-men." Then I was in New York about to start filming Someone Like You and there were about eight paparazzi outside my trailer. So from that point it literally did change my life.

***

What does it take to get Hugh Jackman into Wolverine's physique?

Unfortunately, a lot of training. I've got to have things like this [points to the egg-white omelette he's eating] which don't look that appetizing and I can't have carbohydrates. The beauty of nutrition is that you don't have to train as hard if you eat properly. There's a place here called CNM which is the centre of Nutritional Medicine which took on the English Rugby Team about two years ago and now they're like the fittest and strongest team in the world. I was put onto them and they're amazing. My Goal is to get to 94 kilograms which is about 210 pounds. Now I'm about 91, because I've been building up, but normally I'm about 88. But percentage body fat is the key. I was never in the shape I wanted to be in the first film because I got cast a week into filming. I wanted to be like 8 or 9 percent body fat and I'm now probably 13. It doesn't sound like much, but that little extra is very hard to get rid of. So it's sobriety for me, my friend, and egg-white omelettes.

Rebecca Romijn Talks Weight, Love

What's Rebecca Romijn's secret to keeping a smokin'-hot body? Not owning a scale.

The supermodel-turned-actress shows off her curves and shares beauty tips in the April issue of InStyle magazine.

It's hard to believe, but Romijn said she had to lose weight in order to play Mystique in the "X-Men" movies.

"I never step on the scale. I don't even own one, so it was awful reading in the tabloids about my weight gain: 'She ballooned from 125 pounds to 150 pounds.'

"I needed to lose around 15 pounds, but I was never worried about it, and I'm not trying to lose weight now."

The 33-year-old stunner also opened up about her engagement to actor Jerry O'Connell and life after divorce.

"We have a lot of love for each other," she said, referring to her ex, John Stamos.
