Indiana Jones 4 Not Relying on CG
Source: New Haven Register July 5, 2007
The Indiana Jones 4 production is wrapping up things in New Haven, Connecticut and the New Haven Register chatted with producer Frank Marshall about what to expect:
Marshall and Spielberg wanted to shoot the fourth "Indiana Jones" movie in the same style as the first three.
"Steven is very aware of the process and we're not cheating with CG (computer graphics) at all," Marshall said. "It keeps the B movie feel."

Yes, people have been waiting for an Indy film for almost 20 years. For a new Batman film only 3.
The basic of a good movie is not action but tension. It s the stress that s give the spice to a movie. I m afraid that Indy 4 is going to be like a video game or like die hard a lot of explosion something ridiculous a real circus!
Don't....dis....Die Hard....
I doubt it's necessary to show the wedding scene of Indy and Marion in the movie, so they will probably cut it during post-production.
I've heard Indy & "Mutt" don't know they're relationship until later in the film. I'm pretty sure once Indy knows he'd marry Marion.
You think this will be the last Indy movie?
Yes. I don't want Indy to go down the Bond path.

Visual effects are anything created in the computer.
Special effects are effects created or done on camera.
scifiwolf

Not true. Visual effects can be practical (stop-motion animation, motion-control model work, etc) or digital (CGI, computerized morphing). Visual effects are anything created off set, and can be a whole shot or composited into a shot. Special effects effects are done on set (stunt work, on set pyrotechnics, hydraulic gimbles for earthquakes or boats, etc).

Yes, people have been waiting for an Indy film for almost 20 years. For a new Batman film only 3.
First off, back in the 90s and early 2000s no one was "waiting" for an Indy film because they were said to be completed and no more were to be made. It's like saying people right now are waiting on a Star Wars Episode VII. Ridiculous.
Secondly, the wait between The Two Towers and Return of the King was only 1 year, and Return of the King became the second highest grossing film of all time. So how valid are your points? Not at all really.
Oh, and technically speaking people have been waiting for TDK longer because Indy 4 was only confirmed since 2006, before that it was believed there wouldn't be anymore. :o

The INDIANA JONES 4 rumor mill takes another turn...
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I've had this rumor in the inbox for a little while (thanks to "Judas' Noose") and it’s starting to gain some momentum.
I've gotten a second source come to me with the same rumor. So, I thought I'd run something on it. It's a big, giant honking rumor, but a fascinating one.
I've been on the record supporting the idea of an INDIANA JONES 4 if it brings the films full circle. You have a great trilogy cap with that riding off into the sunset shot from LAST CRUSADE, so the only place to go in my mind is to make a movie that goes full circle back to RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. We know Marion Ravenwood is in it. We know she had a kid with Indy. We hear that John Hurt could be playing Abner Ravenwood, long lost father of Marion and mentor to Indy, thought dead in his pursuit of the Ark.
Seems like that's the direction they're going.
The rumors I have been getting say that the big object being searched for is not Atlantis. It is not the Spear of Destiny. It is not a shard of Noah's Ark. This time Indiana has to go back to square one. There is nothing he can possess that can not be taken away.
What I hear is that he is searching, once more, for the Ark of the Covenant.
The rumor is that the warehouse we see at the end of Raiders is in Groom Lake (aka Area 51) and the Russians are trying to find it in order to one-up the American military might.
That would explain Abner being involved in the story. That would further my theory that INDY 4 will act as a bookend to the series, RAIDERS on one side and INDY 4 on the other. If Shia LaBeouf ends up continuing it down the line as rumored, then so be it, but I think we're pretty much guaranteed this will be the last one with Lucas, Spielberg and Ford.
I love the idea, but from what I know of the film, from trusted sources within the company, there’s just not really any room for the Ark of the Covenant in the story they're telling. It’s not the main thrust of the movie if it is in the flick and I just can’t see it as being something they’d sideline.
So, I know this really doesn’t give you guys a definitive answer and probably just raises more questions, but this is what I know of the rumor right now and I’m sure it’ll be spreading, so I wanted to address it.
Hell, it could be that Lucas and Spielberg have us so turned around we don’t know which end is up and they’re off making a completely different movie than everybody’s expecting, feeding us a bunch of bogus rumors and all the set pics and stories have been fabricated. I wouldn’t put it past them.
If the Ark does play a part, I think it’s a fascinating choice. If it doesn’t, I’m happy seeing a new adventure, too. What are your thoughts?

Haven't had enough Indy 4 rumors lately? Good, 'cause here's another one! This is unverified so be sure to grab that grain of salt.
Our bud Rob, over at The Movie Score, has had a busy week at the Yale campus watching the shooting of Indiana Jones 4.
Looks like he may have some info in regards to further plot spoilers from the Lucas/Spielberg production. Are they accurate? Here's what he had to say about some information he uncovered from someone on set,
"I asked him to describe what was on that chalkboard. This guy swears there were Chinese symbols and a list of dynasties...he said the Han Dynasty was listed because he recognized the name Han Wu...I did some research and most of the Han dynasty Emperors are buried in the Maoling Mausoleum in the city of Xi’an in central China.
Xi’an is famous three things:
1. Maoling Mausoleum
2. Terracotta Warriors [Qin’s Army]
3. Great White Pyramid
With Indy 4 being in the year 1957, filming occurring in Hawaii [jungles/mountains] soon, Chinese symbols written on a chalkboard, the U.S. government [possibly] being involved and Abner Ravenwood alive who used to live in Nepal next to China my hunch tells me Indy is going to find the Great White Pyramid and whatever the hell is inside it."

Why are people actually lowering their standards and accepting the possibility of recycled movie elements? I don't understand this. We got the father/son thing, a motorcycle chase, Marion returning, and now possibly the ark? Why not have Indy go back through the Temple of Doom so we can have a movie that is made up of nothing but material from the previous movies?
scifiwolf
07-09-2007, 03:04 PM
I'm not lowering my standards. Part of why I am so skeptical of rumors is because I don't want any of them to be true. I want something new. Indy as a father is new. And what vehicles are left for chase scenes that haven't been used yet?
Likewise, as an example, the two Star Treks generally accepted as the best, Wrath of Khan and First Contact, drew their plots directly from their respective series. So if Indy does go after the ark, or there is familiar material, what does it matter, as long as it's good material?

Indy as a father is new, but I am talking about the whole father aspect which of course was dominant in Last Crusade. As far as vehicles, I always considered the motorcycle chase from Last Crusade as the weakest action piece from the trilogy. I don't want to see yet another -- probably even more watered down -- version of it.
I am praying that Shia is just a sidekick. He's sooo goofy looking, not at all what Indy's son should look like. They should have gone after an unknown who resembles River Phoenix instead of the fad teeny-bopper du jour if they are in fact giving Indy a son.
Star Trek and Indy comparisons are hard to accept in the "narrative borrowing" argument. Star Trek had, what, 60 episodes? Theres plenty to use there without it being a retread, plus with so many ideas already used in the episodes, coming up with new material for an old crew isn't as easy as simply expanding on a past episode.
There are so many artifacts and relics and places for Indy to go after, it isn't even funny. I don't mind a passing reference, but to just uproot it and plop it down in a new and unnecessary Indy movie isn't good at all.
I personally won't mind if they do the Ark again in some manner as long as it's still entertaining, but preferably would like them to use a relic/artifact that hasn't been done yet.

Indy in Hawaii
Production heads to the Big Island.
by IGN Staff (http://uk.movies.ign.com/email.html)
US, July 12, 2007 - [SPOILER WARNING: This news story may contain mild Indy IV spoilers.]
Principle photography on Indiana Jones IV began several weeks ago in Deming, New Mexico, before moving to New Haven where scenes were filmed with Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf, and John Hurt. Now, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and their cast and crew have moved on to the Big Island of Hawaii for further filming of the long-awaited fourth installment in the adventure franchise.
The Honolulu Advertiser reporters, that scenes filmed there will include an opening sequence where Indy takes on Russian soldiers near a Hamakua waterfall.
Meanwhile, KPUA, a radio station in Hilo, Hawaii -- that's where Lucasfilm's production office has been setup -- spoke with Hawaii film commissioner Donne Dawson who confirmed that Indy IV is shooting under the codename "The Untitled Genre Project."
Harrison Ford stars in the Spielberg-directed, Lucas-produced film along with Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone, John Hurt, and Jim Broadbent. The script was penned by David Koepp from a story by George Lucas.
Indy IV hits theaters on May 22, 2008.

Okay you dislike temple, but other than that how can you say Lucas is bad at writing stories. Dialog yes, Directing yes, but if there is one thing the man is good at its stories.
Oh and I highly doubt Speilberg hates the film he may think its the weakest of the three but he doesn't hate it. He met his former wife while making it (at least I think there divorced) and it had short round.

He met his former wife while making it (at least I think there divorced) and it had short round. they are still married, and hate is a strong word, he regrets it though, and the last crusade was his way of making up for Temple of Doom
Steven Spielberg said that he did not enjoy making this film, and said that the only good thing that came out of it for him was that it allowed him to meet his future wife, Kate Capshaw.
Lucas hasnt really come up with anything good since the first Star wars IMO. But thats for another thread.

Perhaphs when Lucas stated the scripts were great he was just doing it for bussiness. Or maybe he's lost whatever it was he had back when he invented Star Wars and indiana Jones. Its hard to say. Though it was funny to see the old bat wearing a "han shot first" shirt.
Is Shia to be Marion and Indy's son, I think I read that somewhere but if anyone could clarify.

TOD is a funner, more entertaining follow-up (not sequel because I know it is set before Raiders) than LC and is also more in the b-movie spirit like Raiders. Last Crusade also doesn't seem to hold up as well over time, maybe because of some of the lame humor and comicky nature of the story.

If he is immortal, can he still be killed by someone? I always thought Last Crusade made it pretty clear, you'll have to live in that mountain if you plan to live forever.

I am pretty sure that's why the temple collapsed, because the great seal was crossed. It's the same purpose as the boulder in Raiders; it isn't made to kill just to trap the relic -- and whomever is unfortunate enough to have it -- inside.
As far as the bullet wound re-opening, I guess since the grail has the power to grant immortality, it has extraordinary healing powers, and since it can probably totally heal, there would be nothing -- like a scar -- to reopen.

EXCLUSIVE Indy 4 NEWS!!!
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities (http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.viewCategory&FriendID=75131381&BlogCategoryID=14)
This info is coming from a reliable source...it was posted a few days ago but has received little attention. We have done some checking...read and see what you think:
*So what could Indy be after this time around? We know that his mentor Abner Ravenwood [John Hurt] is in the film. Indy asked about Abner in Raiders during the Nepal bar fight scene to which Marion responded Abner's not here - he's dead. Keep Nepal in mind for a minute.
Now in Raiders Indy bumps uglies with Marion on the ship that gets intercepted by the German sub. So if Marion got pregnant during that encounter in 1936 then by 1957 there would be a 20 year old running around - enter stage left, Shia LeBoeuf. Therefore, Shia is Marion and Indy's son and Abner's grandson. Great little connection there.
Okay, now for my big news. When I was on the Yale campus taking my pictures and videos a guy came over to watch beside me for a few minutes and we started talking. There were a few conferences going on in some of the Yale buildings and this guy had a conference name tag on. Well, he told me that he was in one of the buildings that they were filming in called Harkness Hall. Knowing that Paramount was indeed filming in Harkness I asked him if he's seen anything and he told me he went into THE room they had been filming in and saw stuff written on a chalkboard. Now, I argued that it was probably a regular classroom and the writing meant nothing, but he insisted this room was usually locked down, he had watched actors/crew going in it and he was only in it for 30 seconds when two production crew members yelled for him to get the f**k out.
Remembering that Jones uses a chalkboard in Raiders to describe the Staff of Ra I asked he to describe what was on that chalkboard. He swears there were Chinese symbols and a list of Chinese dynasties. Chinese symbols…dynasties??? I said "how do you know it wasn't Japanese of Korean?" and he mentioned he had studied some Chinese history in school so he knows Chinese. Anyway, he said the Han Dynasty was listed because he recognized the name Han Wu - an Emperor of China back in the day.
Now I began to get a bit tingly at this point because I had a hunch where this Chinese reference was leading. You see I did some research and most of the Han dynasty Emperors are buried in the Maoling Mausoleum in the city of Xi'an in central China. Xi'an is famous for three things:
1. Maoling Mausoleum
2. Terracotta Warriors [Qin's Army]
3. Great White Pyramid
Feel free to google the hell out of the Great White Pyramid, but the skinny is that a WWII pilot in 1945 spotted a pyramid in the mountains southwest of Xi'an that was bigger [yes bigger] than the Great Pyramid at Giza. This pilot described it as being a perfectly shaped pyramid on a mountain with a large white jewel at the top. He circled it a few times snapping some photos. These photos were classified top secret by the U.S. Air Force and hidden away. Oh, and the mysterious Great White Pyramid has never been officially found leaving some to believe it's purely a myth.
With Indy 4 being portrayed in the year 1957, filming occurring in Hawaii [jungles/mountains] soon, Chinese symbols written on a chalkboard, the U.S. government [possibly] being involved and Abner Ravenwood alive [who used to live in Nepal next to China] my gut tells me Indy is going to find the Great White Pyramid and whatever the hell's inside it.
Lon's 2 Cents: I've been checking around and it seems this may be exclusive news that will not get a confirmation by the production. This source is saying that the name of the movie will be "Indiana Jones and the Great White Pyramid" I talked to a aquaintance at Paramount this evening and brought up this information. You'd have thought they had swallowed a bowling ball. The response was 'where in the hell did you get this?" I just said 'nuff said....but the info is out there'. They refused to say anything further.

In response to Advance Dark's MySpace news, I'd seen that before on another site, just I never bothered to read it. The Chinese symbols on a chalk board mean nothing. Nothing Indy ever taught his students in the movies ended up being the artifact of the movie. I do like the Chinese pyramid idea, but I don't believe it. Also, the guy who wrote the article also stated "We know that his mentor Abner Ravenwood [John Hurt] is in the film." This is completely false. We do not know that. People are speculating that this is truth. Remember, "Archeology is the search for fact, not truth." ;) Fact is, and always has been, John hurt is playing an unknown role.
Thanks for the article anyway, Advance Dark.

The original 3 Indy's are classics. This project (as many know) just has me very worried. I don't think they can reach the level the other three did. I feel Indy's saga is over, and that this movie is not neccessary.

RUMOR CONTROL! Let’s Talk About INDY 4!
Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
I’m going to put up two separate articles today, both titled “RUMOR CONTROL,” and depending on how you react to it, I’ll try to do it from time to time on films where rumors have reached a fever pitch.
Basically, I’d like to give you guys a place to talkback about what you’re hearing and, more importantly, what you’re hoping. I don’t ever want to discourage the sort of active anticipation that has always been one of the things that united the film geek friends I have, but at the same time, there are certain occasions when you see fandom getting crazy about things, and when those things aren’t accurate, someone’s got to put on the brakes a bit.
My first question is this: how much do you guys really want to know?
Because, no matter what Paramount and Lucasfilm think, INDY 4 is a leaky, leaky, leaky movie. If they try to suss out who our sources are or who’s talking to CHUD (pound for pound, the best INDY 4 source online so far) or who is spilling the beans at the studio, they’re going to end up firing most of their production. And it’s inevitable, guys. People are working on an Indiana Jones film. I think for most of them, that’s too surreal for them to believe. I think they’re talking about it so much because they can’t stop themselves. It’s excitement.
And already, each of the talkbacks for INDY 4 are turning into sprawling free-for-alls. Right now, one of the most obvious topics is speculation about what to expect from the story of the film.
I’m not sure exactly what to expect from the final film. Here’s what I’m pretty sure of, though. This particular incarnation of INDIANA JONES AND THE CITY OF THE GODS (which I am fairly sure is the title at the moment, since it was definitely the title of the script as recently as a year ago) really started to come together when Frank Darabont wrote his drafts. He worked from a story by him, Spielberg, and Lucas.
When Lucas infamously decided to pull the plug on the Darabont draft, it sounded like he was going to throw the whole thing out. But more and more, it sounds like what actually happened was that Jeff Nathanson was brought in to take elements of Darabont’s script and introduce some new characters and ideas into it. In particular, Nathanson was hired to create Indy’s son and tie him into the film. Darabont had already brought Marion back into the series in a big way in his draft, and I’m guessing Shia LaBeouf will be taking her place in most of the action scenes that survived from the Darabont draft. It sounds like Karen Allen won’t have as big a part as she would have if they’d filmed that earlier version, but that she is still the thing that ties this directly to RAIDERS.
I don’t think the Lost Ark is in the film at all. I wouldn’t swear to that, but I’m pretty comfortable saying that the Ark is not what they’re looking for. Here’s where I am still treading lightly... I don’t want to just spill everything I’ve heard, because I don’t want to ruin the film. People have waited nearly 20 years to get a new INDY film, and if they know every beat a year before it comes out, won’t that ruin it? And if the spoilers are out there, are you going to be able to avoid them even if you want to?
I think there are aliens in the film, but I don’t think it’s the typical Area 51 version of aliens. I think we’re dealing with something else entirely... ancient visitors to this planet. I think it’s still an archeology film, and I think they’re going to tie the quest into real artifacts that have a mysterious sort of history. I don’t think this contradicts anything we’ve seen in the previous Indy films, either. More than anything, I think INDY 4 is about how Indiana Jones has reached a point in his life where he knows that he’s touched history a few times, but he’s never really left his mark on it. It’s a personal story, and I think that’s an identifiable thing for Indy to be facing. He’s older, and I think they’re being smart about how they’re writing that. I’m cautiously optimistic. I would really love for this movie to remind us of why we loved the character. I’m optimistic because I’ve read various drafts of this that give me reason to hope. The film’s being rewritten right now by Koepp as they’re shooting, but I hope that works out. I hope they’re just polishing it, sharpening it.
I’m still unconvinced about John Hurt being Abner Ravenwood. I think people leapt to that conclusion and it’s somehow become accepted as fact. I don’t know what he is playing, but I don’t think it’s Abner. I think he is long dead, and the only Abner Ravenwood we’ll be seeing in this film drives a motorcycle.
If you really want a hint worth chasing down, do some reading on Mitchell-Hedges. Or Nazca.
In the meantime, you’re going to continue to read a lot of speculation about what they’re chasing in the film, and some of it’s pretty elaborate. The following theory is wrong, wrong, wrong, but it’s really entertaining, and while you guys tell me what you think about spoilers on this film and how much you really want to know, you can enjoy this as the spirited speculation it is:
Hi Harry, long time reader and big time fan. That talkback Re: possible Indy 4 titles a while back must be considered one of the funniest ever. Ok, I'm just gonna cut to the chase, I think I MAY have an idea about the possible storyline for the upcoming Indy movie. Now I know you think that it will revolve around the Ark again but I think differently. Here's why, before I continue though I must ask that you please be patient. I will be going through some theories, which although I did not create myself may lend themselves to a great script, which could be the basis for a GREAT Indy movie.
Here goes...
A story posted on 'The Movie Scorecard' talked about 'Indiana Jones and the White Pyramid'. From sources in Yale he basically discovered that the production crew were in a lecture room which had Chinese writing on the chalk board discussing the 'Han Wu' dynasty. Han emperors were buried in the X'ian region of China. Xian is famous for the supposed location of the great White Pyramid.
Well after some research on the web re: this pyramid I believe I could see where Lucas & Co. are taking this story. You may or may not know that in 1938 The Soviet newspaper, 'Sputnik' published a story which claimed that Soviet Scientists made a discovery in the Bayan Kara Ula mountains in China (which is apparantly close to Shangri-la). Long story short the discovery consisted of a series of graves containing the skeletons of 'dwarfish like people'. Now what is unique is the fact that the time frame of these well developed people occured in pre-historic times. Chinese legend had it that these people emerged from the clouds and were killed by the locals.
I'm mentioning all this because the Soviet discovery of this grave may have triggered investigation into 'alien matters' which culminated in a push to discover the full power of the 'White Pyramid'. Bruce Cathie, a New Zealand author, claims that mathematical calculations indicate that all the pyramids in the world were built in sync and in alliance with the stars. Now apparently this could have been done at the behest of an 'alien society' and could give off 'mystical powers' with proper use.
Now, there has been much discussion of the Roswell angle to the story. As is universally known the Roswell incident took place in 1947, around that time pictures of the 'White Pyramid' were taken. Apparently the 'White Pyramid' (now this gets a bit weird) 'unveils' itself in certain circumstances. The first, in 1945 could have been to warn people of the dire consequences of the Atomic bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In 1947, it could have been to indicate the arrival of 'alien beings' to Roswell. Thus, we can see how 'Roswell' comes into play.
Whats all the fuss about the 'White Pyramid' and why do i keep using quotation marks to signify it? Well as mentioned before there could be certain mystical powers attributed to the White Pyramids of Xiann. Furthermore, I found another theory online which spoke of the state of 'Hsien' which is a heightned state of conciousness which apparently gives, now this is the kicker, IMMORTALITY. Now I'm sure where we can see where this is going. The Soviets, just like the bad-ass Nazi's with the Ark, want Immortality and thus want to harness this state of 'Hsien' (Brings us back to that idea you had about going back to the beginning, here is Indy AGAIN trying to protect us from the 'baddies' seeking immortality). Now, to do this the Ruskies must first find the place and be able to gain access to it. Now why would they have problems accessing it? Well that would be because apparently there is a 'Secret Society of the White Pyramid' who protect it. They comprise of both the living AND the dead!!!
Ok thats pretty much all i have for that, like i said i got most of this stuff from research i did on the web, you probably got the Movie Scorecard story already but the other stuff I got from the following website:
The Fabulous 1,000 Foot White Pyramid of Xian
I hope all this makes sense and that you can make some use of this story. I really like this angle if this is in fact what they are doing, I like the mysticism and alien parts of it. Really looking forward to this movie and I think Harrison looks great. If you do use some of this please call me JBot.
Thanks again Harry and all the best!!

The following is taken from TheRaider.net. I've highlighted the important info. Looks like Indy is indeed going after the South American 13 Crystal Skulls.
First week of shooting Indy 4 in Hawaii
14/07/07, 5:07pm EST
Indiana Jones 4 producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall held a press conference at a hotel in Hawaii yesterday. Reports from this press conference can be found at Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070714/ap_en_mo/indiana_jones) and The Honolulu Advertiser (http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070714/NEWS0101/707140318/1003/NEWS0101). Ford did not attend the news conference, but he is working on the Big Island along with Cate Blanchett, John Hurt and Shia LaBeouf, the executives said.
The Hawaii Channel (http://www.thehawaiichannel.com/video/13681861/index.html) also posted a very nice video report of the press conference with producers Kennedy and Marshall yesterday. Their video report also shows a few areas of where Indy 4 will be shot and a brief interview with a local crew member. So definitely worth checking out.
Here follow some excepts from Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070714/ap_en_mo/indiana_jones) report of yesterday's press conference:
Producers of the adventure, currently being filmed on Hawaii's Big Island, say there's no need to worry. Ford is as fit as ever.
"I have to say, he looks amazing," said Kathleen Kennedy, the film's co-executive producer, along with George Lucas. "He looks fantastic in the outfit."
The action star [Harrison Ford] is actually doing many of his own stunts in the latest film.
"He's doing them, he just has a few more ice packs and a few more massages," Kennedy said.
"And a lot of Celebrex," producer Frank Marshall added.
The film's biggest action sequences are being filmed in Hawaii. Marshall compared one scene to the thrilling, white-knuckled truck chase in the desert in Raiders. "It's that level," he said.
Ford, Lucas, Spielberg, Kennedy and Marshall all worked together on the first three films, so this latest is a homecoming of sorts. "We're having a great time. It's so much fun being together," said Marshall, who has produced more than 50 films. "Nobody's worried about their careers any more," he said.
Here follows a list if Indiana Jones 4 in Hawaii info gathered from the reports and by local Indyfans Horrorbot and Yvonne:
The film's biggest action sequences are being filmed in Hawaii.
Hawaii will be featured in about 20 percent of the film. About half of this will be from sets in Los Angeles.
The movie just completed the first of three weeks of filming in Hawaii.
This week they've been filming battle scenes in a private lot in the Shipman area, next week they start filming at one of the many waterfalls on the Hamakua coast.
The Hamakua Coast area will double for: a South America rain forest.
The Indy 4 crew in Hawaii counts a crew of about 400, including about 125 Hawaii hires, and put together dozens of special effects and stunts.
There are 25 to 30 stunt performers working on the Big Island portion of the production.
One stunt referred to is: sending a specially designed vehicle over a waterfall. And it will cost over a million dollars to produce just that stunt alone.
Budget for the film is rumored to be 125 million.
The filming for the still-unnamed movie is being done on private property and out of view of the public.
The production is based at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. One problem affecting the producers has been finding several 'upscale' homes with 45 minutes of Hilo for the films lead actors.
The cast and crew are expected to finish and leave for the next location between July 21 and July 24.

One stunt referred to is: sending a specially designed vehicle over a waterfall. And it will cost over a million dollars to produce just that stunt alone.
:wow:

Why not combine Indiana Jones IV with Jurassic Park IV?
Set it in the year 2020. Both Isla Sorna and Isla Nubla are completely off-limits to anyone. In an effort to create a new money making enterprise, InGen start buying blood samples of famous historical figures and using their DNA to create clones of them.
They re-create Churchill, Lincoln and John Lennon, but what they thought was Hitler's blood turns out to be Indy's (as he once had a fight with Hitler, and his blood was on Hitler's jacket). However, before these clones are let out of their stasis pods, the pods are accidentally shipped to a secret InGen base on Isla Sorna, where evil scientists are attempting to fuse different dino DNA together to create the ultimate dino killing machine - and then sell them to the highest bidder (i.e. probably terrorists).
However, a band of 'Free the dinosaurs' eco-warriors break into Jurassic Park and, in their haste, yes, free all the mutant dinosaurs, as well as activating the stasis pods.
Indy, along with Churchill, Lincoln and Lennon, and the obligatory romantic intrest pretty eco-warrior girl, must not only escape the island, but also stop the new mutant dinosaurs from falling into the hands of terrorists who are on the way to pick them up in ten hours.
I'd love to see such an insane movie.

Funny, that sounds exactly like Alien: Resurrection, only with dinos instead of aliens and Churchill, Lincoln and Lennon instead of Ron Perlman.

LMAO
I'm sure we've all thought when watching Alien 4, "This would be so much better with Churchill, Lincoln, Lennon and dinosaurs."

The talent of a director is inversely proportional to his height.
Steven Sommers is 7'7''. He actually grew a whole inch whilst making Van Helsing.
