View Full Version : Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Besides Indy 4 has always used stunt doubles when Harrison couldn't/wouldn't perform any of the major stunts.
No, really? :D
The point is that we all know Ford is 65 now. Therefore, he cant do as many of the stunts as he used to (and he's known in Hollywood as being as good at stunts as a genuine stuntman). But the movie still has to be as exciting and spectacular, if not more so, than the previous three movies - and the dude is 65. No matter how 'great' he looks, or how hands on he was in firewall (as Indy action is somewhat more hectic and varied), he is 65.

You know he's really there to make Harrison Ford look more athletic? The same was done in A View to a Kill, Roger Moore was 56 so he was pared with Patrick McNee.
Ray winstone was a former amutuer boxer. He won 80 out of 88 bouts and his only 50. I'm pretty sure he could still kick Harrison Fords 65 year old ass.
Winstone was pretty great in Cold Mountain and The Proposition.

Yeah, but he looks old and fat, and his character will no doubt be trailing behind Indy the whole movie and require rescuing.

I misquoted the number on the Ark. It's not quite the same. The number on the new Indy site is 9906573. However, the number on the crate at the end of Raiders is 9906753. A little discrepancy, but close enough to warrant attention. Right now, all signs are pointing toward the Ark having a presence in this new movie. The question is, in what capacity will it play a role?
Will it be the object of the opening sequence? This would make sense, given the Deming, New Mexico set is a military installation, and the Ark was last seen in the possession of Army Intelligence. Or will the Ark be the main artifact? Such an important piece of history, and one of the most famous McGuffins in cinema, deserves more of a conclusion than a mere sequence.
I guess we'll have to sit tight and wait to see what Lucas, Spielberg, and Harrison have cooked up for Indy.

Cheer up Catman! Here's some credible news for you guys:
Exclusive: John Hurt Talks Indy IV
Empire gets updated... Ten months. Ten months! Can it still be almost a year until the world's foremost authority on ancient artefacts, quality fedoras and kick-ass adventure returns to the big screen? Still, considering Indy IV was once only a far-off dream in the minds of millions of fans around the world, the fact the movie is now most definitely on its way should be enough to sate those treasure-seeking appetites...for now, at least.
With more Indy IV news expected to erupt from the Comic-Con panels over the next few days, Empire decided to kick things off by grabbing a few words with one of the movie's stars. Speaking in L.A., where Spielberg, Lucas and Ford are continuing the shoot, John Hurt told Empire that things were progessing " very nicely. I've done the odd scene with Shia [LeBoeuf]" he continued. "He's a very good young actor indeed and a very nice guy too. And working with Steven [Spielberg] is wonderful. It feels like I've worked with him many, many times before and I never have."
Despite a string of spiralling rumours - see Empire's Heroes Of 2008 feature for more Indy info - plot details and, in many cases, character specifics are still shrouded in secrecy. So when we asked the actor to tell us a bit about his role in next year's most anticipated movie, his reply was somwehat predicatble: "Well, I'm not allowed to tell you about my character - it's under tight control for good reason. It's not meant to be 'boo to you sucks' type of thing - it's because it makes sense...and it wouldn't help you to know what I was playing anyway."
And what of his hopes for the film? "My motto all the way through my life has been that if something stands the chance of succeeding on the level that it is intended to succeed on, then it's worth having a look at. And nobody could possibly say that this series has not absolutely fullfilled its intentions." Amen to that.
From the LA Times:
Winstone is actually 50 years old, but thanks to wizardry of motion capture technology, he and other main characters age onscreen from teenagers to 70-year-olds as the film progresses. "It's been a long time since I've looked 17 or 18 years old," Winstone said, on a call from the set of "Indiana Jones IV," in which he plays a character called "Mac." "But I looked back at pictures of myself then and it's weird how I look the same in the film as I did back then when I was a boxer."
Finally, the rumor that Shia's character's name is Mutt Ravenwood is confirmed. The name is embroidered on his jacket in the Comic Con footage.

Okay guys, I've been trying to keep you all abreast of what I know, especially in regards to the legitamacy of the viral site that popped up. Here are the facts:
The crate at the end of Raiders bears the number 9906753. The crate on the new layout of www.indianajones.com (http://www.indianajones.com) bears the number 9906573. The digits in bold mark the difference between the two.
The following sites have been opened by the same party, but they have done so in a manner such that that party's identity is hidden.www.indianajonesandthecityofthegods.com (http://www.indianajonesandthecityofthegods.com) - registered, but not launched
www.9906753.com (http://www.9906753.com) - Contains a graphic of the crate from Raiders, which is a link to the official Indiana Jones site. In Internet Exlporer, hovering over the link will show the text, "This represents everything we got into archaeology for in the first place."
www.9906573.com (http://www.9906573.com) - Led at one point to another site with a solitary link to a Wikipedia article about the Ark. Then it contained "Ex. 40: 34-38" This is a passage from Exodus, which reads, "Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. Moses could not enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled upon it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out—until the day it lifted. So the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel during all their travels."
As of right now, the site is just black.
So all this begs the question, is this real, or is it fake? No one really knows, but it's kind of fun that way.

It's cool publicity even if it's not legit.

Yeah he does, but so deos SW. :whatever:
No prob. Yeah, Indy comics came out after the film but not Star Wars. Technically speaking, Star Wars comics came out before the film, they were first released in March of '77. So ha, now make me a Star wars forum :oldrazz:
Marvel did some comics around/after Raiders.

Is it gonna be another love triangle? I mean this still is an Indiana Jones movie... and Jones just seems to be a better womanizer after every film. Women STILL wanna be with Harrison Ford... I think Blanchett should be a love interest at the start of the movie.

Dude, you have it all wrong.
Back in Raiders came out, there was nothing else like it. There was no "mold" to make an adventure film, in fact, there hadn't been any good adventure films since the 50s. Raiders of the Lost Ark was so good that other films started following it. Raiders created the mold.
Raiders influenced a generation of adventure films. Young people's minds have been diluted into thinking Raiders is just average because everything they've seen in it has been done and copied in movies like The Mummy and Tomb Raider.
Many forget or never know that Raiders was much more original than Temple of Doom. Doom was based completely off of Gunga Din which was an old film about an adventurer and his friends who are caught in India and invade a mystical tribe called the Thuggee cult who are led by a bald Indian who wears ceremonial robes and near the temple in the film is a rickety rope bridge.

No it's Indy IV, then Iron Man.
I think Indy will be number one as well... but Iron Man is being a bit overrated... while I am optimistic... it is just receiving zero attention on these boards... it won't be a 200 million dollar film... Narnia will.

With the excellent word of mouth that the 5th potter film had, i would expect a much grander opening for the sixth film.
Indiana jones, however, has one of the biggest fan bases ever, next to star wars, that spans all ages, where as potter, no offence, is mostly teens, pre teens, and young adults.
Potter is, at the moment, extremely popular so those films will probably be very close for 2008. As for second place, i would say the dark knight will secure that position, because of the brilliant marketing, and excellent word of mouth from Batman Begins. Iron Man is an untested hero who will look cool to the general public, so im expecting that in third, last will without a doubt be the new hulk movie.

HP has yet to win any box office. Lol. I am STILL waiting for to to catch up to Transformers like some posters said it would. And I am not saying waiting overall- checked days recently and on the same day of HP's release as TF's release, it was STILL behind. And this was after some posters claims of HP supposedly going to kick TF's ass, so- um- yeah.... remember that next summer as well. Though, it will beat Narnia and be neck-to-neck probably with TDK.
Iron Man isn't even close to anything. It is a NEW property. Not many people outside of fandom even knows he exists. Look for 200-210 mil TOPS for the first film. That's saying 1st Supes and Batman area. May be higher than that, but due to being unknown- going to rank it with the first DC films. Those who say Transformers- well, that is known every single boy who grows through a regular child hood chances are they played with the Transformer toys and remember them into adult hood. Yeah, effects were a part of it- but it was also a name as well. Though I do see it possibly doing better than Hulk. Although Hulk is a well known property, the first film may have rubbed some people the wrong way.
Everyone and their grandmother know about Indy. Indy is going to be this year's Phantom Menace and blow the competition away. Hell, I'd be surprised if it doesn't create some kind of black hole.

I love Batman but some people just need to be realistic. TDK doesn't have a chance of being the top grosser.
Harry Potter 5 didn't make as much as the others because it was released in the summer. I've noticed that neither HP films released in the summer have crossed $800 Million WW, yet every Potter film released in the winter has made over $850 Million WW.
The return of Indy will surely be huge. I'm betting this will be the highest grossing blockbuster of the summer next year. I'm not sure about Narnia, I don't follow those films and have yet to see them but the first did huge numbers so I suspect the sequels will do good as well. Back to TDK. No big blockbuster sequel has ever made double of what the first made and Batman Begins made $370 Worldwide. I don't see it making $720 Million, which Indy 4 and HP6 will surely pass. But hey, no other superhero film in history besides Spider-Man has made over $500 Million worldwide, so if TDK can pull in $500, that would still be a feat.
Mr. Socko

In 2005, Worldwide, Goblet of Fire made more than the last Star Wars film. Now I'll be damn if that isn't saying something!
In America, Harry Potter does good numbers, but overseas, it does great numbers. I'm not expecting HP to be the domestic winner at all next year, I doubt anyone is.
3 Potter films have been released in the winter. 1 made over $900 Million, the second released in the winter made $876M, and the third released in the winter made over $890 Million. All WW numbers ofcourse. Now HP6 is being released in the winter next year, so I'm willing to bet it will even beat Indy 4 WW.

As a Narnia fan more than Potter fan, I'm actually pissed they chose to release it in the summer. Hope there isn't too much of a drop and if the drop doesn't get studios worried.
Narnia & HP films clearly = winter
Agreed. Just seems like fantasy films are more fit for the winter.
Except for Kevin. Lol. :cwink:
TDK has no chance of being the top grosser, but I will and still believe it will be in the top three without a doubt. Two or three placement. I stayed true to my guns about every film this year and I always turn out right.
Jw, what films do u believe have the potential to beat TDK? Other than Indy (obviously) and Potter (possibly)
Hmm, well now that I think about, not many! I think Narnia could beat TDK in the box office. I really don't see Hulk making too much noise if you know what I mean. I believe Iron Man will do good numbers but many are over-estimating it. But it could be the dark horse.
Now that I reconsider it, TDK could very well make the top 3, if not then definitely the top 5. I have a feeling next year could be better than this year.

1. Indy 4 (by a long shot)
2. HP vs. TDK
3. HP vs. Narnia
Indiana Jones, worldwide, is not that popular. HP is very hard to beat in the international Box Office.

Actually just checked, made my summer predictions above. The Love Guru will be the hit comedy, I think, Mike Myers is back- he's spent ALOT of time working on that script and I think it will do as good as the Austin Powers films.
And Starship Dave will undoubtadly bomb. Sounds like Pluto Nash and has the director behind Murphey's last comedy which wasn't that good... so, I am skeptical about that one.
Due to the relatively poor to average script review for Hancock, not going to fail- but may not do great either. It does have Will Smith though, so he'll help it along probably and save it from becoming a super-ex.
TDK will be, maybe, 2 for summer- but it may drop. Bond also comes out that year... summerwise- TDK is safe, main competition seems to be coming during the winter months: HP (they finally moved it!) and Bond.
BTW, I always talk in DOMESTIC terms.

2008 total domestic:
1. Indiana Jones 4
2. The Dark Knight/ Harry Potter
3. The Dark Knight/ Harry Potter
4. James Bond 22/ The Dark Knight/ Harry Potter
This is how I see the top four in terms of vs.
I seriously see huge jumps for Bond and Batman, both revamped had to face their own challenges and both proved to be a success via word of mouth. Thus, I see a bump for both. Don't know how much of a bump for Bond though- and if it could get it in top 4. Just don't see any huge competitors.

I found it funny how you always try to push Bond 22 down, the previous movie of which made $160m and got high DVD numbers.
WHat about TDK vs. Narnia 2, here I see Narnia having very serious competition with IM, Indy 4 and Speed Racer. Also summer is not the best season for such movies as this one, example - Harry Potter 3 and 5. It's just like making LOTR for July. Also, TDK has no competition and it's previous movie had one of the best legs of 2005. So I see no reason why TDK can't beat Narnia. I doubt TDK will even get close to $300m, but it can hit $260-280m.

You have The Dark Knight, Narnia, Iron Man, The Hulk, Indiana Jones, Speed Racer, John Hancock, Wolverine, and more. Bond 22 will be in the top 5 international. Domestic nah.
I think TDK will be around 250-270 max. Narnia should break 300. Indy should own the year. The competition won't matter as much for Indy...it shall just chug along and rake in the money.

No problem with HP and it actually may finally do good since it is in the WINTER again which is where these films belong. But, still not number one- but, does look to be the strongest contender for second place now with a gross of tops 310 mil. That is saying that it will be the highest grossing HP film to date, by roughly 10 mil. So, don't look at that as a put down- because, it's quite the opposite. It will be a repeat of 2005 without having to worry about Narnia.
As to exageration- I thought HP was in the summer when I made earlier predictions. HP NEVER does that well during the summer, prior to release there were people saying HP would trample Transformers because of news of the final book and being a big franchise. I also remember some even calling people who saw TF and HP running neck-to-neck to be ridiculous because "obviously" HP was going to "trample" it. Well, last time I checked (not total, but by days out) TF is AHEAD of HP and turns out those stating HP would trample TF were dead wrong. That's what I meant by exageration and it is clearly evident with some HP fans this year due to that whole HP vs. TF scenario. TF is currently ahead by 20 mil, both at 24 days.
HP will do great now that they put it back where it belongs- WINTER. But, in no way will it be a rival for Indy. Indy is a property that has stood the test of time, is considered to be a cinema ICON, and is making his big come back. Expect Star Wars (Phantom Menace & Sith) numbers, but just a little below that. It will make close to Star Wars numbers, both are ICONIC film properties with Indy, probably, just ranking a tad below. Clear shot for 360-370 mil.
Even though I'm a Narnia fan- my favorite of these types of films- I do see a drop in that due to being released in the summer. Didn't know it got that much, so hopefully the drop will be relative to Potter's drop and won't be looked at as that much of a big deal- hell, it will probably have less of a drop than Potter. Has a shot at #3. Thought it made around 250 mil, but 291? Awesome! Now if only it was in the winter, I would say definite for NUMERO 2 (check box office 2005 :) )
Narnia and Potter are films that belong to the winter, with Potter going into winter again- it finally has a chance to go over 300 mil and be a success like the last HP film that was released during the winter months. Summer HP doesn't stand a chance, winter- without a doubt going to be big. I seriously pray to God after this Narnia film they decide to release the rest during the winter.
I don't know why that is, but that seems to be the common running trend with fantasy films. Summer drop offs and winter successes. Anyone know why that is exactly? I know that that principle evidently exists, but does anyone know how and why it works that way?
Going to revise top three, didn't realize Casino Royale was the highest grossing Bond film to date.
Also, I see a huge jump for TDK- nearing 300 mil at around 260-280 mil. Not only did the audiences dig BB shown through legs and DVD, it is out of Indy's inevitable path of destruction (a la a cinematic black hole) to the movies premiering around it. Also, TDK has little to non-existent competition:
You can't tell me that THIS is not a good month! (http://www.comingsoon.net/movies.php?year=2008&month=7)
1. Indy 4
2. HP
3. Narnia vs. TDK (Narnia may have the strongest shot, but don't know how much of a summer-drop there will be)
4. Narnia vs. TDK (if Narnia is 3, then TDK is DEFINITE for 4)
Iron Man won't get top 5, that is safe to say, but it does have a shot for top ten. And keep in mind, that's not a bad thing. IM is a character most people have never heard of before and will need to rely on word of mouth like other brand new properties. However, by the way it is forming I do see it as the next Batman Begins (my #1 favorite superhero film). Also as for the TF relation- doesn't hold up, IM will be semi-revolutionary in flying due to interacting with other flying objects- but not as revolutionary as TF, and TF is a commonly known name brand whereas IM is not. As I said, top ten and will most likely be a great and possibly best MARVEL film. It just needs to build up and it's sequel will have a bump, if my thinking- best MARVEL film to date- holds up.

The Chronicles of Narnia

First weekend of May for Iron Man will help it, because it's a very good weekend to kick off the summer. Narnia will have to open very well, too, because Indy IV hits 4 days later. Indy will have a big opening weekend, and it's longevity will depend on Narnia over Mem. Day, the next weekend, and June movies. It's tough to say how Incredible Hulk will do in mid-June. The first one sucked, but made a lot of money. A new cast and director might bring in audiences, but they might also be put off by the first. The Dark Knight has the benefit of being the solitary blockbuster in July. Bond will have a few weeks to make money in November before HBP hits for Thanksgiving.
At this point, it's insane to say what will rank where. It is however, fair to predict what will finish in the top ten, in no particular order. Here's my top ten:
Iron Man
Narnia
Indy IV
Wall-E
Harry Potter
Batman
There are others which could do well. Speed Racer has the disadvantage of only being rated G, not to mention going head-to-head with Narnia. However, it still might surprise and pull in audiences. Star Trek is a wild card as well. A reboot could go a long way to bringing in mainstream audiences, if the movie has the same appeal as Wrath of Khan or First Contact.
Another thing to consider is that comparisons to box office numbers from twenty-five, or even ten, years ago is pointless. There are so many more blockbusters among which to spread the wealth, and there are wider releases than there were back then.
Ultimatley, the movies which have no competition the second weekend will probably fair better. Looking at the schedule, that means Indy and Batman. Personally, I don't care, cause I'll go see just about everything.

As I have already said, Indy 4 may turn out as another T3 or new SWI (in terms of box office only). So it's verty hard to predict the exact numbers.
More SW than T3. T3 had a different- well, everything- except Arnold. T3 wasn't a good Terminator film or film in general either so that played a role in it not doing good business. And I don't think it was ever as high as Indy and SW to begin with.
Indy has been in production for MANY years. They've wanted to start shooting many times over and the screenplay was always sent back for more and more re-writes going through a number of stories and drafts. If you look at it, ALOT of hard work went into pre-production alone. Add to that the power of Spielberg and bringing back aspects of the first trilogy... you don't have another T3 on your hands.
Wrap up:
- T3 didn't do that good because it only brought Swartzenager back and it wasn't that good of a film. James Cameron did not direct the film.
- Indy4 has obviously had a lot of hard work put into getting it made that spanned several years, alot of aspects of the first trilogy is present, Spielberg is the director. So, the chances of not being a good film are very very small. :cwink:
Indy will be near SWI-III, but will somewhat drop behind because- I believe- SW is the bigger franchise of the two.

MONTEREY — Karen Allen has lately been stealing off to an undisclosed location for secret stunts and a plot line that is being tightly guarded. Although she can hardly say a word about the details, the actor and Monterey resident is "having a blast" in reviving the role of Marion Ravenwood, the love-and-adventure interest of Indiana Jones, kept alive aptly by Harrison Ford, for more than two decades.
The fourth installment of the "Indiana Jones" Hollywood series, a film by Steven Spielberg, is set for release in the spring of 2008, Allen said.
Allen, a veteran of 35 films, including "Animal House," "A Perfect Storm" and "Starman," now owns Karen Allen Fiber Arts, a Great Barrington business that produces and sells cashmere knitwear and accessories. She keeps in the movie business as her life permits. In July, she was on location — she can't say where — for three weeks. She will return — she can't say where — in two weeks for a longer stint, through October.
Meanwhile, she has been getting buffed up in the gym with daily workouts. "You want to get in shape for all kinds of reasons: You want to look good, and it's physically demanding, and you need stamina and energy," said Allen, 55, who has practiced yoga for years. "I put my iPod on and boogie." The fourth "Indiana Jones" movie will feature actors Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett and John Hurt, to name a few.
Allen said she is consistently surprised at new generations of moviegoers who recognize her on the street as the "Animal House" co-star, or even as the actress in "Starman." Both have been revived by cable television and on DVD.
Asked about her new/old role as Marion Ravenwood (whose bar, "The Raven," burned down in a prior episode), she still can't comment much. "It's an action-adventure role, because that's really the nature of these films. They are shot-out-of-a-cannon kinds of films — there is a lot going on from the moment it starts until the moment it ends," she said.
New "Indiana Jones" movies are likely to have a following because the series has had steady exposure over the years on television.
Allen said her fiber arts store, on Railroad Street in Great Barrington, will be in good hands while she is gone, and she has already filled orders for fall and winter.
Meanwhile, movie-fan bloggers are excited that Marion Ravenwood is back.
"Of all the Indy girls, she was my favorite," writes the author of www.theknightshift.blogspot.com (http://www.theknightshift.blogspot.com/). "Maybe we'll get to see that she and Indy got together after all :)."
And a www.rottentomatoes.com (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/) blogger is pleased that a leading actress who is closer to Harrison Ford's age has been invited back.

Too long between this and Last Crusade I still say.
Though this should be big with kids, also.

If that's because of Phantom Menace...
It's Spielberg directing, dude- not Lucas.
Besides, it's been many years because they wanted to perfect a screenplay. Some of which are online to read. The Area 51 one is pretty good, just seemed too "out there" and not Indy.

I love Spielberg, but he is not the same man that helped to craft the original Indy movies. Lucas isn't either. I just am not confident that they can go back and get that magic they had for the original three films.
It has just been far too long.

Harrison Ford is definitely still in shape for the job. It carries the name 'Indiana Jones' and it's a Spielberg film. Children will be amazed by the special effects and action sequences- hell it may even be their introduction to Indiana Jones. Teens and older will love the film for the classic Indiana Jones adventure.
First post by the LucasFilm/Paramount promotional team. :woot:

It's about time Adventure returns.
We've already had enough imitations with Lara Croft, The Mummy, and that Ben guy.

Ben guy? Haven't really been keeping up with the adventure genre anyhow... I think this movie will be good... but defintely not up to par with the original three

Well, Indy himself is as much a composite of different characters as any of the others, it's just he is based on heroes that Lucas and Spielberg grew up watching, so most of today's viewers will have no idea who they are.

Also, the Indiana Jones series developed many of the cliches that the other action films utilize.
Before Indy, there really weren't many action cliches.

No. I don't work for Lucasfilm, but I know those who use that tactic of sarcasm usually have no means to back up their own arguments, so guess that means I won this one.

I know, I was only joking. Indiana Jones is based off of Allen Quartermain and Harry Steele. Temple of Doom is pretty much a remake of Gunga Din:oldrazz:

Hey guys. I'll be leaving the Hype! temporarily as I go on vacation for a week (first vacation in five years). Hunter rider, you'll have to keep an eye out for any news since I won't be able to.

You know what plagues me on a constant, daily basis? The fact that I wasn't paying attention back when I bought my Indiana Jones trilogy DVDs, and I accidentally grabbed the fullscreen version. Man oh man, I've finally had enough, next time I get money, I'll be trading in mine and picking up a widescreen. Perhaps then I'll be able to sleep at night.

Ouch, dude. I've done that with a few movies (Hulk and Field of Dreams comes to mind) but never with a boxed set. That would irk me too.:(

Six Indiana Jones Movie Titles Registered with the MPAA (http://www.slashfilm.com/2007/08/10/six-indiana-jones-movie-titles-registered-with-the-mpaa/)
http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/9147/indytitleshr4.jpg
One of our scoopers just sent us the latest Motion Pictures Association of America Title Registration Report. Lucasfilm, Ltd has filed for six different titles for Indiana Jones 4. The proposed titles include:
* Indiana Jones and the City of Gods
* Indiana Jones and the Destroyer of Worlds
* Indiana Jones and the Fourth Corner of the Earth
* Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
* Indiana Jones and the Lost City of Gold
* Indiana Jones and the Quest for the Covenant
City of Gods has been long rumored to be the working title of the production. It also seems to be the best candidate of the bunch Destroyer of Worlds, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Fourth Corner of the Earth are way to corny for me. But hey, George Lucas was the same guy who named a movie Attack of the Clones and The Phantom Menace, so you never know.
It’s also worth noting that Paramount TV registered “Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Death” in 1983. I wonder what they were planning?
According to the MPAA title report, the titles listed will be clear for registrants’ use by the close of business day Aug 24, 2007 if no protests have been lodged against them. I’ve never seen a report like this before, and find the process interesting. For example: Columbia Pictures is protesting Disney’s John Carter Of Mars title on the basis of their upcoming release John Hancock. Most of the entries on the protested titles section are like this. Usually one word in the title is the same of another project. Makes me wonder if any of these people win these seemingly unfounded title protests.

City of Gods seems the best title IMO but we have heard the Crystal Skulls are gonna be involved.

Temple of Death and Quest for the Covenant are redundant.
Destroyer of Worlds sounds like they're preparing for Unicron or Galactus.
Four Corners of the Earth is too close to At World's End.
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull sounds to 80's-ish.
Lost City of Gold? Nah...
I like City of the Gods.

Another tactic people use is trying to end arguments prematurely by saying, "You did this, that means I won, end of discussion." ;)

i think that "city of gods" title is FAKE! i mean, think about it: Indy has been after the Ark of the Covenant AND the Holy Grail (4 the record, Temple of Doom was a PREQUEL! therfore, the "Indian sacred stones" don't nessisairly count). WHY would HE, a GOD-BELIEVING GUY would go after a place that worships MORE THAN ONE GOD?! I'll just wait until the trailer comes out in November 2 see what this title REALLY is...
