I'm in the minority that liked Spoiler as Robin. I just loved the odd couple-ness of the young, perky blonde next to the dark, brooding, loner.

Her best stuff was in the Detective issue where she went against Zsasz. When he had her by the throat, she could have gone for the traditional female "foot stomp" or a elbow to the kidneys, but, instead, SHE BIT HIS NOSE OFF. She got out of his grip, spat it out, and beated his ass.

That's not Babs. That's Bettie Kaine. The origional Batgirl. Her name was retconned to being Flamebird because Babs is cooler.

Her current origin is that she was a high school athlete who had a crush on the mysterious vigilantes Batman and Robin. She got together a costume and weapons and became a vigilante to atract Robin's atention. She ended being a member of The Titans for a while.

The reason why i spoke of that,is because the sites where i got my information from said it was so.But just now,i went to a more recent site.With the refrences people spoke to,mainly that Barbara Gordon was the first Batgirl.Its all if you look at Post and Pre Crisis mentions.

As much as I love Barbara, I have to respectfully disagree. She is awesome as Oracle but nobody comes close to a true Batgirl as Cassandra had been. She is cold, dedicated and an excellent martial artist. She's almost like a mini-Bruce. While the Huntress filled the suit (very)well, Cassandra fulfilled the mantle of Batgirl completely.

I don't think any others would be able to (realistically) fill the Batgirl boots as Cassandra had.


PS: I think Tim catch yellow fever and hook up with Cassandra!!! :up::up::up:

I'll grant the undenyable fact that Cassandra's the better fighter, but what appealed to the audience regarding the concept of Batgirl is someone who can be tough, smart, intuitive, and BEAUTIFUL at the same time. Why else do you think whenever you see her fight, it always emphasizes FEMALE characteristics....

The fully cowled batgirl totally ruins it for some.....
