The Official Colossus/Daniel Cudmore thread

So it seems questionable whether or not Cudmore will have a larger role in X3. I think Colossus is one of the best X-men, and should have a bigger role in the movie.

Cudmore looks perfect for the part, but some say he doesn't have the acting chops to pull it off. Even though he had limited lines in X2, I say give him an opportunity to break out.

What does everyone else think?

The thing is, other than the newly introduced Beast, there are no mutants on the team that have super strength. If they are going to have Juggy in the movie, the X-men need at least one powerhouse mutant.

But, like someone mentioned, with the other X-men being featured, and the Dark Phoenix being introduced, it's unlikely that Colossus will get much face time.

Even though he was in X2 armored for all but a few seconds, I really treasured those few seconds! He is such a great character with cool powers, I just wish he would have a bigger role.

We shall see....

From what I've read and such he's ok...but he has no experience, so he's got nothing to really bring much to the table.
Of course I don't know this for sure, it's only speculation from what I've read.

So I'm hoping they give him an X1 Iceman-sized role or a bit bigger. IF he can pull it off, then keep it like that, if he can't trim it down to about his X2-sized role.

I've got a question: There's so many X-Men comic books. Which is the main one? And do they take place in the 'same universe'? You know what I mean? Let's say one comic featured Cyclops and Wolverine..and the other featured Jean and Storm right. So if Wolverine made appearance in the Storm/Jean comics, would that be the same Wolverine in the Wolverine/Cyclops comics? Confused? I know..

(Right now, I'm collecting all of the Batman TPBs, along with some Frank Miller/Alan Moore stuff as well!)

All take place in the same universe currently except Exiles, I believe. Which it in itself sometimes crosses over into main 616 continuity.

Wolverine stars in all three X-Teams. Astonishing, X-Men, and Uncanny.

And I don't recall if Piotr and Kitty are back together yet, I just know that she was having those old feelings stirring up again.

Well, the teams are split in three, but Wolverine is in all three. Wolverine manages to make his way around the world during his solo adventues and help Havok's team out which mainly deals with traveling alot, while also helping out Storm's team also, and Cyclop's team. It's all explained.

I am one of those people. I just want to see the guy for more than the blink of an eye. His character has so much potential for the action sequences.

I don't see why Cudmore wouldn't be able to cut it acting wise. There are so many people out there that have given us amazing performances despite being viewed as not right for a particular role. Look at Jamie Foxx...who would've thought he would go on to be an Oscar winning actor?

Let's face it, no one is expecting some award-winning performance. I say give the guy a chance, let this be his break-out role. The thing is, I doubt he'll truly get much screen time, although I hope I'm wrong.

I have a similar problem even after the movies the games and Evolution they all have the animated series voices though I usually have Kitty and Colosus from pryde of the X-men's voices cuz I haven't seen the episodes with Colosus in forever.

That's a lame ass excuse. You don't have to explain WHY they have them. It's just assumed by the viewer that they are from a different part of the world than the other cast members.

What I was merely saying is that casual/non fans of the xmen may find it difficult to understand why all these people with differnt accent wound up in one place without explanation. Never did I say this was the official reason or the most likely scenario. I'm just trying to understand the directors logic in not usuing the accents.

But yeah, all they'd have to do is a quick line from Xavier about how his school is a very multi-racial, multi-cultured facility. -nods- That'd explain all the different accents to the general viewers.

I think what he meant by that was its not worth it to make a minor character a from a foreign country. Anything that makes them different from the others requires some sort of explaination. Even if it is small. Russian accent would raise all sorts of questions, and we have way to many characters to answer them all. Personally, I think we can sacrifice the accent.

And I agree that even a quick nod to the diversity of the school as you said would be good, but also as Sir Granite said there are a lot of characters and little screen time so some things have to be sacrificed.

Yeah. I guess some things can be sacrificed, but I just think the accents and diversity of the team is one of the things that should not be sacrificed. Therefore Storm should be African. Colossus should Russian. Gambit should be Cajun. Etc. Etc.

OMG I just had this odd revelation, the Line "This way" has been said in both Xmen and in Street Fighter (The horrible) Movie. X2 its said by Colossus and in Street Figher by Zangief. NOOOOOOOOO!!!

If it sounds this bad in Xmen 3 I will personally hunt down Dan Cudmore and tell him that I hated it. Then I will run like hell before he kicks my ass.
