I'm new to the hype. I haven't had much time to post or come to this forum. Just barely getting to know your names if anything. I only post in one other forum. :D
If you have seen my other work, what do you mean by never seen my own art? This wolverine I drew out of my head. I had nothing to reference too at the time.

I've been saying that since I was like 10. I probably will never happen. If I'm lucky I may get a cover out before my days are numbered. :D As long as I can somehow have one picture published. I would be so happy!!!! AHHH One can only dream.
Dreaming is cheap, Kal El.
I like what I see here, so all I can say is.. Donīt settle yourself for less than the real deal.
Try, try, try.

It's like they say "I can, or I can't. Either one is correct depending on what you want". I'm nowhere near being a pro, but I also know that I'll make it someday....just depends on how much I want it.

His genes are filled with the Greek Gods genes. His powers so far are of flight, lightning control (zeus), and strength (hercules). He will soon develop more powers that the gods once weilded.

The Olympian looks fabulous, Kal. And I'm not just saying that because I'm of Greek descent.
And I agree with DeDIKnight about the casting of Superman ... chronological age has nothing to do with it. It's all about how one carries the "look" and "feel" of Superman (sorry ... don't know how else to phrase it). And I'm afraid that, in my opinion ... as of right now ... Brandon Routh doesn't have it. Maybe that might change when the movie is finally released.
Let me put it this way ... would people accept an actor playing Batman who looked like he should be playing Robin?

I felt the same way until I saw the SDCC footage. Everything about the movie looks fantastic. The sets are great, the locations are great, Superman's costume is great and Superman himself looks like he should, not to mention Routh's Clark Kent is uncanny in it's resemblence to the late Chris Reeve's. Routh does look young, but not as young as most people thing. Superman is supposed to have the boyish good looks, and Routh conveys that in a perfect way. He's commanding, yet humble....just like Superman should be.
Trust me, this movie is in good hands with Bryan Singer and Co. I also firmly believe that Routh will far surpass everyone's expectations.

I was at the presentation for Bryan Singer's Superman Returns footage.
Don't get me wrong, Chris Reeve always has and will always be Superman, but that's not to say that someone else can't carry on his legacy in a new movie. In the footage Routh looked every bit the part, his posture, hair, mannerisms, even his eyes (those baby blues) were spot on.
I am the biggest Superman fan I know, and I have been very skeptical about this movie since it was first announced. I have voiced my opinion about the casting, director, suit...etc, but all of my skepticism was put to rest when I saw that footage. Not once during the footage did I think "this is some guy playing Superman", instead I thought "this is Superman".
Christopher Reeve IS Superman, but Brandon Routh does a good job portraying him.

Don't mind at all. But I have to admit there was a reason for that. I haven't got the technique good enough to pull it off. But when I get around to it. That area needs to appear glowing. So that's why I haven't shaded it.

How does he sound as Superman?
better than Tom Welling. lol...But he sounds pretty good, voice is just as deep as Christopher Reeve's.
I've only ever seen the guy in Will and grace and it was a bit hard to judge his voice as supes as he was playing a gay guy I think

This is a character I made up 3 years ago. I can't remember her name anymore. I finished the pencils about 3 months ago. Just haven't posted it until now. I would really like to take some time to write her story. She is a vampire, once human, she changed because of an evil force that engulfed the face of the earth. Your outer looks and abilities manifested based on what you kept inside your heart. She was a villian at first. But turned to the good side because she saw the errors in the direction the human race was going. She has an ally I need to draw. He is still human without any changes. He is a warrior very skilled in surviving in this crazy new world. He helped her face her own inner demons to face her weaknesses to break the control the evil force put on her. Unlike nearly 99 percent of the world. A handful of humans still remain. Due to the fact that they remember how humans once lived, with decency, love, respect, and faith. This story contains both spectrums of the worst evils imaginable and the purest good. Not only are there vampires but every monster imaginable. Because as people differ in outer appearance, so do their hearts in different ways. She is the sidekick of the hero of this story. When I draw the main character I will describe him more. This is a favorite drawing of mine. I will color her in due time. http://www.bluetights.net/theplanet/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Yeah, I love your style of art. Its so nice and neat. My sketches are so messy...I guess that's what I get for emulating early nineties marvel art which then turned to Image (I'm talking about Liefeld and that crew...shhhh...don't tell anyone). Can't wait to see her colored...and for you to remember her name.

Image also had Mc Farlane and Lee tho too - among others
And I think theres room for all kinds of art
Kal's stuff is really neat and brilliant - but theres Bill Siekiwiscz whose art I love - thats just mental in places - specially elektra and Stray Toasters
Dont put yourself down nosebleed
If your artwork tells a story at the end of the day and is real easy on the eye - its done its job ;)

How does he sound as Superman?
As Clark he sounds EXACTLY like Reeve did, he's even got the "gee Lois" thing down.
He did talk much as Superman, but his expressions were spot on. When Lois scolded him for being gone he just stared at her with this vulnerability to him, almost as if to say "I am just happy to be near you". It was spot on how it should look.

Awwww shucks - Thanks buddy,
but you made that avatar possible with such a cool design - I'm writing his comicbook story just now
Maybe we can get some of the crew back at home base(;)) to draw a page each for the comicbook and get Pimpernel or Adenjo to do the cover
I'll do some pages and posters for it too
And I think you'll be happy with my Teamup version idea - your design, my animation background
hope it turns out the way i hope
And thats the muscle work done now on your OLYMPIAN 12" action figure - just got to make the clothes now - that takes the most time

Limbo is fine, but I think it looks funny because they're just generally huge. You have a tendency to draw your hands really really big. It could be a personal trademark, of course. :) It doesn't look as funny in the other drawings because in the Superman piece, the knuckles are also unnaturally angled, so that the pinky carpal is waaay shorter than it should be and the index finger carpal is much longer than it should be. All the carpals should really be almost the same size.
Great work, Kal_EL! I love the clean lines and the precision in your pencil work. Colored pencil requires too much patience for me - I'd rather splatter paint around. I'm also still trying to figure out the inking thing, but I'm not into doing comic book art - I'm more of a classicist. But I still love looking at the work of talented folks like you. :)

I like the more intense look on sups face in the first one though. He looks a little distant in the second- kinda like hes thinking about the rate of increasing fuel prices as hes flying rather than " im gonna go f**k some S**t up, *****!" But thats just a personal prefence.
I'm not sure what you planned for the cape- but its reading a little lopsided. The right side should be a little higher.
I'd also make his head a little bigger. But it is a cool picture. You gonna colour it?

I would consider putting a displacement map over the texture you have used on sups suit. It will help make the texture fit around the form of his body, rather than be a flat over the top.

Im a little curious to why the area around superman is all jaggy- you should clean that up.

I love the wolverine...awesome detail in the pencils(in what you have completed anyway) The worker girl ain't too bad either.
However the Cap and Bats annoy me because the perspective and anatomy are a little screwy. Still, the lighting and colour are awesome!

Thanks man, the wolverine is something I did a long time ago. Here is another head shot I did as I was playing Domino the other day. I made out like a bandit that day. Maybe cause I got my groove on in the pencil department. LOL

Your are right though, this is the suit from the upcoming movie. I just felt like tackling the texture of the suit and kinda paint a picture rather than draw a line drawing. So this was a first attempt at this style. I hope to finish it in the future.
