Hey All, Just wanted to thank everyone for the nice comments, it's very much appreciated. And to, -fE-, no I don't have a growing ego.. No one should have an ego about doing something they genuinely enjoy doing. For me, it's a little escape to just concentrate on something else and create these wallpapers and images..

Oh, and the Xavier one isn't meant to be morbid, but it's cool seeing everyone interperet differently.. My idea was to mimic a sense of the cerebro effect in X2.. maybe it didnt work lol..
I'll try and get some other wallpapers up soon..

I actually do these while I'm at work, so I don't have much time to complete them, so usually anywhere (going back and forth to it) between 1/2 hour and 45 minutes..

With Mystique, It wasn't so hard because eventually it was easy to fit the two faces because it's the same person. lol, but other components were harder.

Thanks for the nice comment :) I wasn't sure if Magneto was going to work, but thought it'd be interesting to add him in as a medium between Xavier and Jean (since he is rumored to start quite the raucous between them).. And i love Magneto and don't really use him a lot, so he got put in where i could composition wise.. I also notice a lot of people don't like the red tints in some of my manips, but i suppose i just thought the red/orangeness is for the phoenix ideas i'm trying to push in those particular ones.. I don't want them to be like X1 or X2, and the fire element gave it it's own identity.. The flames of the Phoenix are coming upon all of them.. I guess I need to work on that more lol..

as for that rogue manip, I believe i may have done it.. i know i fiddled with that one a lot, but it was a while back and i dont remember clearly.. i'll find out.. But thats the ideas i was going for (Iceman powers being used, her feeling isolated behind his walls..etc)..

Less is more.

I noticed in all your works you tend to get carried way with the brush FX. Try using smarter blends and make sure all your hues are saturated just right. I know its fun to get "crazy" when working with Photoshop but if you want your wallpapers to look professional then you need to really pay attention to all the details. For example in the Jean wallpaper on the page before this, you colored her eyes but it looks like she's wearing contacts that are slipping within pupil and iris. Pretty images can be degraded when details like this are overlooked.

The wallpaper of Rogue-Cyclops-Wolverine-Jean-Storm-Xavier-Magneto has way too much FX. The characters don't blend correctly and some of the poses don't match with each other. Just because it's Rogue doesn't mean that particular pose will fit with everyone else but I understand limited resources. When designing anything you have to keep a perspective of what you are going for. Magneto looks horribly misplaced and really shouldn't have been in the wallpaper. Along with that over usage of red mist.

Your Xavier/Jean wallpaper is delicious and you know why? Because it's less and the saturation levels are just right. It's the only thing you've done that does look great, no offense. I hope this is the new direction you are going with your artwork because it looks really good. :up:

Thanks for the constructive criticism, I appreciate it.. :) I'll do some edits and post them up, although I have to be honest with you, I create this while I'm at work, when I don't really have the time to dedicate to making them completely flawless, and most of the ones I've created have been made under the time spans of between 30-45 minutes at most going back and forth on them.. I try my best for that small ammount of time, and like i said, I appreciate any opinions and suggestions.. And it's something I will try and improve upon. These are great - I agree with what people say about these being good enough to be official - in fact the first official sucks in comparison - can't wait... perhaps a Wolverine one next? maybe reflecting the whole "not so much gel" style they got on his hair - while i'll never get bored of looking at him, the X2 Wolverine background that I've STILL got on this pooter is beginning to date just a little... ;)

Well since the wallpaper thread is back up and all...

I wonder if anyone who is graphically gifted could whip me up a wallpaper of the X3 teaser poster.

Now, I know that there already is one, and I have it as my wallpaper now.

BUT, I don't know if anyone has noticed, or if it's just me, but the coloring on the X3 teaser wallpaper seems to be off. The teaser poster has a nice dark poster with a blue hint, just like the rest of the X-Men marketing, and the logo is a nice dark silver color.

But with the wallpaper, the colors are all really bright and don't contrast very well at all. It doesn't look as nice.

So I was wondering if there was anyone that could take the actual teaser poster and turn it to a wallpaper size and format.

ETA: Hate to ask ... you think you can make it so that her face is the center of the wall? My screen size is 1280x1024 and when I use the wall, her face takes up just the upper half. Any chance of making it more centered? I tried to do it before asking you, but her head cuts off and when I create a black background to my size wall, it looks bad. That is the only reason I am asking, since you have the full image and could make it so she doesnt look cut off like when I tried. Maybe include some of her forehead and hair. If it is to much trouble, dont sweat it. And please do not think I am not grateful ... I always am with what you give us! :D
