I hate it how they regulated juggernaut to such a sidekick in the movie, he is strong enough to take on the whole team. And I really wanted to see Rogue absorb his power and fight him like that episode.

As you all know, Zak Penn has told us that Cyke wasn't gonna be in the movie at first.

Then, he's pretty much implied that when they managed to convince the studio to put him INTO the movie, they were given strict controls.

So here's my question: Would you rather have had Cyke in the movie as he was now, dying off-screen after 10 minutes... or not in the movie at ALL? Because apparently, those were pretty much our two choices. :(

looking back, after seeing X3, Daredevil, FF, Elektra, and the Punisher, the Hulk looks pretty good, atleast some heart went into making the film, unlike the above mentioned....... they should just do a sequel to the film, and bring back Bana, it's to soon to do a "redo"

this is what I mean about that Avi Arad guy, all he thinks that we want is dumb, fasty edited action movies, I enjoyed the Hulk alot, it was smart and took time to show you things, no origin, minus Batman Begins, has been shown better then the hulk.....

From looking at all the posts (are at least trying to sift through them) it looks like this thread has gone off topic a good bit!

Cyclops was one of my favorite characters. I believe that they should've allowed a glimmer of hope in the movie that he was at least POSSIBLY still alive. I think if there were an X-Men 4, they'd probably bring him back, but it doesn't sound like there will be an X-Men 4. Seems there more interested in "spinoff" movies of Wolverine and Magneto.

It's a shame he was killed off. And it was also a shame they waited until the final movie to bring in Angel.

A writer said (paraphrasing): We wrote a scene....and shot it as well...where Jason actually frees Xavier and Scott, and together they go back to the Mansion, and find it empty...we felt bad that Cyclops was in jail for a large portion of the movie so we wrote this scene, but it was cut for time I guess...and the fact that it was Jason's illusion because he never really freed Xavier, Cyclops was an illusion, and Jason used it to get Xavier into Dark Cerebro. So we were tricking the audience for a large portion of the film.

So they made a conscious effort to include Cyclops at least, not to mention they said other things like "They kissed (logan and jean), but you know...we wanted jean to still say that she wanted him (cyclops), and she was the one that pulled away." So, they weren't necessarily going in the same direction of Brett's X3....

That was actually in the deleted scenes section of the X2 DVD. I watched it coz it was extra Cyclops eye candy, lol.

Even reading it now is making the character drop in my esteem. :( It's not just that he doesn't call Maddy to tell her "Hey, Jean's alive and um, I'm in X-Factor, I think we're doing a really good thing here... " I mean, on top of that, he also doesn't have the balls to tell Jean that he's married. Instead he just stumbles around awkwardly while Angel and Beast get pissed with him for being such a massive tool and dicking with Jean's emotions. Which, you know, he is.

Yeah, I could see where you might come to that conclusion. :cyclops: True, I did think it was really selfish of him to do that to Madelyne. But, one could argue that he left her for the true woman of his dreams . . . I'm not saying that it makes it any better, but the point was that he truly loved Jean. But, yeah . . . that was a pretty bad thing to do. But people really do stupid things sometimes, that's what makes them human. A lot of people seem to think that Cyclops is a do-gooder boy scout, so he's a boring character. Others think he's a stuck-up d****head, so they don't like him for that.

I personally think he's a multi-dimensional hero, which is what I would hope people would want from their characters. I think he is very good at what he does in combat tactics, but he's lacking in the sentimental department. He tries to be a good person and do the right thing, but sometimes he screws up, making it more difficult for him to be close to the others. Unfortunately, a lot of writers now just tend to use personality traits to define him as opposed to writing him as a person. Just my thoughts.

I sympathize with that conceit. It's how I survived the latter seasons of Buffy - by realizing that most of the crap the characters were doing was totally OUT of character. :)

I'm also annoyed, though, by the fact that they retcon the Dark Phoenix saga to say that Phoenix was never Jean. That's such crap. Totally kills all the great drama of that storyline... Jean should've just stayed dead after Dark Phoenix, so she wouldn't have to become a shadow of her former self. :\

Of course, later on some new writers who came in tried to retcon the situation by saying that Maddy was always designed to be evil, but that was kinda lame too. The whole Madeline Pryor storyline was a total screwup in every way. It was nice to see a relationship between a mutant and a REGULAR HUMAN, because we never really see that in X-Men for some reason, but that was the only good thing that came out of it. And then of course they retconned her and gave her mutant powers too, so that went out the window as well...
