Parker Posey is a brilliant creature and she did the best with what she had. Whatever problems I have with her character are due to the way she was written and nothing wrong with the actress. She brought a lot of natural charm to the character.

Ok, can I just say I was scared about seeing this movie after hearing mixed reviews. But I think it was awesome. It's now my favorite X-Men movie (duck rotten vegetables) :) Heres my thoughts:

CYCLOPS - Jimmy was amazing. Sure, I'm upset about Scott "dying", but I think it was done perfectly. It's left open, and I'm positive he's alive. The way it cut to the Professor witht hat creepy noise was great.

WOLVERINE - Ok, I have done a complete 180 about this character. I've always found him annoying, and in the spotlight too much. But after seeing X3, I thought he was brilliant. Hugh Jackman is wonderful. Loved the part where he kicks the guy in the "region" lol. And especially loved the line when theyre heading off to Alcatraz. The one about him not letting Scott and The Professor's deaths be for nothing. Fabulous.

XAVIER - Another 180. I know don't like him very much. I thought he seemed very selfish in this movie. I'm sure he thought he was doing it all for hte greater good, but it still seemed like it was all everyone elses fault. Loved the death scene, very well done. Wondering about the music, which track is it on the soundtrack, because it was fabulous.

ANGEL - Didn't see enough of him, unfortunately. But he was great in all his scenes, especially asking for help at the school. I'd never seen Ben Foster act til yesterday, and he was great.

ROGUE - I understood why she wanted the sure, but I really hoped she wouldn't take it. Would've loved to see her in the final battle.

STORM - I've always been very neutral about Storm. I thought she was brilliant in this movie. Especially when she decided to keep the school running without Xavier. She also kicked some major butt. How she dealt with Callisto was amazing.

COLOSSUS - Wished he couldve said more than one line. Daniel Cudmore is a cutie, lol. Loved the fastball specials. The metal effect didnt bother me too much, but it did look a bit fake.

KITTY - Another neutral one. She was ok, and wodnerfual in the Alcatraz battle. Curious as to how Leech stopped the Juggernaut, as he's not a mutant, right?

ICEMAN - Got on my nerves a lot. Guys with a wandering eye do that soemtimes. Loved his icing up bit, headbutting Pyro was awesome. But honestly, the whole love triangle this bugged me.

BEAST - Fabulous, lol. Loved him, and Kelsey Grammer was perfect. Loved the thing about his suit not fitting anymore. Beast kicked major butt int he end.

Ok, I think that's everyone. Maybe I should do the bad guys next. :)

WOLVERINE - Ok, I have done a complete 180 about this character. I've always found him annoying, and in the spotlight too much. But after seeing X3, I thought he was brilliant. Hugh Jackman is wonderful. Loved the part where he kicks the guy in the "region" lol. And especially loved the line when theyre heading off to Alcatraz. The one about him not letting Scott and The Professor's deaths be for nothing. Fabulous.

The best part is that HE ACTS NOTHING LIKE WOLVERINE.

I agree. I think WOlverine was totally out of character and this was the weakest script of the trilogy. That being said, I think Ratner did a great job and I'd love to see what he could do with a GOOD script.

That Logan speech to Bobby, made me cringe and want to puke. Besides being corny BAD dialogue, it's not something he'd ever say.

Storm was too snippy. I think Halle's great but someone needs to show her the animated series from the nineties to see how reserved yet strong Storm SHOULD be.

Marsden put in another flawless performance. Its amazing how he's the most emotional yet you can't see his eyes. He was the highlight for me. And Jean too, although I wish she'd switch back and forth more and not stay with Magneto til the end. Wish she'd interacted with others besides Logan.

Storm v Jean, Bobby, Rogue, Kitty, none of them ever speak or face her...

But again, that's writing NOT performance. She was great, especially in the scene in her house.

I am working at a movie theater over the summer and walked in during my break to watch part of this movie.

Man does the writing suck, and Storm is so incredibly one dimensional. It's sad. the scene where Beast first tells them about the cure is a really poor scene. The writing sucks.

It reminds me of Matrix Revolutions, it's a great movie until someone speaks. When Mystique is on the truck and the guard is like "oh mister President, Shut up." That's the best they can come up with. Magneto and Xavier are the only ones who really succeed at saying this dumb dialogue with any real conviction. It really feels like the writers didn't have a chance to finish the script, or they just aren't very good.

but the scene where Scott is riding to the lake is pretty cool, it feels like a set up for something amazing. But then woop, we get a lame scene where Jean just appears out of no where rather than rising like the phoenix out of the lake.

Essentially. Or, well - she knew that Scott and the gang intended to trap the Phoenix inside of a big metal ball that Beast had built to contain her forever. So she tried to capture the Phoenix inside herself, and then Scott took it upon himself to shove her into the ball. Which leaves them BOTH inside, so they can both commit self-sacrifice there.

But of course the Phoenix goes out of control, ripping through the ball as Emma is muttering "oh god, oh god, I can't control it, the world-!" and such. And so Dark Emma is unleashed and Jean resurrects to pull the Phoenix out of her body and stop it again. It's all kinda confusing and trippy.

Actually their review isn't that great. Looks like both X3 and SR will be somewhat disappointing this summer.

We all know Bryan can't do action and it looks like the script for SR isn't as good as the one those guys wrote for X2. The reviewers had issues with pacing and the third act especially...

I guess we'll be the judge when we see it. I've always thought the problem with Superman is that he never has a worthy adversary in Lex. That's wht Zod and his friends were so good and why Superman 2 was so great. Because the villain was his equal and they could actually face off...

But back to Marsden, it looks like he's got a VERY big part in this movie. Good for him. Singer owed him after being shafted in X2.

I don't think he's ugly by any means, but he's lost that spark he had when he was younger. I think age is to blame rather than him being tired.
