Why is it Storm and Halle Berry get unjustifiably blamed for James/Cyclops role? Halle didn't tell the studio/writers to give him his role. She didn't tell James to do Superman. :o

I'm a fan of both characters here, and it pisses me off each time one gets blamed for the others role.

Well, I was joking in my last post. But, I agree.

If this whole Halle-is-to-blame-for-Cyclops'-small-role thing would be true, Halle would've been the main attraction in X2. Which, obviously, she wasn't.

Yeah, it would have. But after Passion, Caviziel's standing would have made it harder to ignore Cyclops.

But although I think Singer's Superman will be excellent, his Wolverine worship was a real drag on the first two movies.

I doubt there will ever be a good X-Men movie, to be honest. Just like they've done in the comics, they just let Wolverine dominate the movies too much.

I mean, no matter how much junk DC does in their comics, at least I don't have to put up with Wolverine there. Although they've tried their hardest to poison Batman by turning him into a Wolverine clone.

And I guess it is true. I mean, when I started reading X-Men it was reprinting 60's stories and Wolverine didn't even exist yet.

And when Giant Size X-men #1 came out, all I can remember thinking is "Why is this dork from Hulk's book in the new X-Men? He doesn't even have a mutant power!"

They retconed the healing factor (that now makes him basically unkillable...bleh) and the senses later.

PLease, Caviezel looks too old and kinda ugly to play Cyclops. Plus I think Marsden is a much better actor than you give him credit for. It has nothing to do with the actor. It's not Halle or Hugh. It's all about character and marketing. Wolverine is popular, end of story. He's more fun than the uptight boyscout.

#3 Will the movie show the relationship between Cyke and the Professor because I feel that has been built up in the previous two films

#4 So you arent worried about the book by Chris Claremont will give away any spoilers, you say it will be different but wont it give away deaths or things of that nature....I mean it has to be fairly simmiliar I would assume.

*Fairly similar, but still very distinct. Chris is a genius, and he was encouraged to remain loyal to the essence of the film, while following his own instincts with the story. Also, he only had access to the script, not the footage, so he doesn’t know what we shifted and changed while shooting.


#5 I heard James Marsden is returning for a pick up scene, would u say the scene will add some more depth to his character in the movie?

#6 Ok one more lol Have u ever felt such a strong devotion to a character like I do to Cyclops that you would be be as concerned about his fate as we many fans are and if so which character (I mean it could be anyone from a book,comic, film, anything)

*I get it. I really do. Look, I love Cyclops too. I grew up on these comics, and he was one of my favorites. I’ve felt that level of devotion to many characters – from Bruce Wayne and Storm to Indiana Jones and Sean Connery’s James Bond.

These were all me.....Now what I find very very interesting is the fact that Simons answers changed from the last post. He must not of realized since it is so hectic with his job schedule but he already answered these questions in an earlier post. The first time I asked about the pick up scene....he said I didnt know Jimmy was returning for reshoots. Guys look back these questions were all answered already and this time on the most recent answer to the Jimmy returning for a pick up scene....He says spoiler. Sooooo that has to mean something

My guess is, Cyke will have 'appeared to have died' (maybe we don't even see what truly happens), and hopefully, hopefully, he comes into the final battle, riding on that kickass bike of his. :D

What if we don't truly see what goes down between Cyke and Jean right before she faints and Logan and Storm gets there?

Explaining further, the camera could easily cut away from what happens between those two, and we're left with the assumption that he dies.

Such as, in Dead and Breakfast.

The movie's about a zombie that kills people and turns others into zombies. Now, in one of the scenes, you see a struggle between the resident know-it-all librarian and the killer/zombie (with the killer winning). And then there's a gunshot heard. Now, you would think he/she killed the librarian, right? Not so. In the final 'battle' against the survivors and the zombies, she comes back to help the survivors. So, it was in fact the zombie who lost in the previous struggle.

Now, what if X3 used that shifty technique?

Sounds like they're definately dancing around the topic to me. That can be good or bad, although I don't trust them or believe anything they say.

That "huge comic book geek" and "big fan of Cyclops" junk is just the typical stuff Hollywood types say to promote the movie. I don't think it's sincere.

I was also thinking about the theory of viewers being made to think Cyclops dies. This is the way I would do it:

Cyclops removes his glasses after a very emotional encounter with Jean. Then you see him start to shake and you really see the strain it is having on him physically. Then they cut to the water like you see in the new trailer and his blast is traveling at a rapid pace causing a massive wave that practically covers the screen. Right after this they dont show what transpires but will return to the X mansion with Wolverine and Storm....they realize something is wrong and return to Alkali lake only to find Cyclops glasses floating in midair and Jean's unconcious body. (so what actually took place there would still be a mystery)

THEN CYCLOPS MAKES A TRIUMPHANT RETURN AT THE END.......I really have the feeling they are going to bring him back somehow

I also think Cyclops will be the one to tip the scales in the final battle. I can see him riding on his bike, blasting, then the bike skids across the floor. He calls out to Jean and turns her, then she ultimately turns on the brotherhood.

Otherwise, its impossible for a handful of X-men to defeat Phoenix and an ARMY of mutants!

I have only one guess. EMMA FROST. We already know Gambit is out. And I thought Moira (setting up a new team based in Muir Island) but that character has already been revealed and credited.

Emma would be perfect. Maybe at the end she shows up with Scott to calm Phoenix?

It reminds me of a scene I had heard about in Astonishing Xmen.

Cyke and the team are on a lawn, and the threat of a Sentinel is looming on them.

Cyke tells the team, and specifically Wolverine, to 'get behind him'.

He takes off his visor, and there is a whole page of literally bright red.

Wolverine comments on this a cavalier tinge of admiration and awe, but I can't type out what he said exactly.

Just hearing this description gives me the resonance that Cyclops is a badass when he wants to be.

He see's her, she see's him and they both run towards eachother blowing away all the sentinels in there way and ignoring all the hazards of the battle till they eventually meet in the middle of the battle field and embrace.

so it starts with the intro to x3.

it has everyone talking about x1 and x2 stuff but jean is there

wolverine runs towards him but gets tossed

scott then fires a really good blast that sends juggs out the window(i know i know its not possible)

everyone starts cheering for cyke, jean gives him a huge kiss.

That's what I'm wondering too. Jean has a greater bond with Cyke than Wolve, so you'd think she'd more likely kill wolve an push scott. even in the comic Scott is always the key person to shift Pheonix back to jean and talk to her.

Scott:
Jean it's me Scott, I love you, come back to me Jean.

Jean: Oh Scott.

Pheonix: No, I am Pheo...

Jean: Scott I love you but you have to kill me because ever second of every minute,: i can't fight her any longer.

And more bits that don't. For everything we see in action from that script, we see two more pop up that weren't mentioned AT ALL. Tsk, tsk.

In the script review;

- Scott hugs Jean.
- Jean takes off Scott's glasses.
- De-molecularization.

Things we've seen that weren't mentioned in the script review at all in this particular scene;

- Nothing said about Scott shooting his optic blasts.
- Nothing about Scott getting knocked back by some un-seen force.
- Nothing about Jean and Scott kissing.
- Nothing about Jean giving an evil look during their encounter, as in the review it's written as an accident.

But, since Jean's giving an evil look (obviously from her Dark Phoenix side), and if she doesn't kill Wolverine when she's evil, why would she kill Scott? Hell, all she would have to do is knock him deep into the forest.
