Think about it. Obsessed with some dead chick. Wears black all the time. Wears sunglasses even at night time. Has red eyes.

It seems like EMO is the new punching bag of sorts. :)

But seriously, people consider me EMO, but I'm more INDIE. I'm more into the vintage look than just wearing black.

But either way, EMO chicks are very hot, same with INDIE chicks. I like chicks who are into the scene. :)

One of my mates said something funny the other day. He said that when Grunge first came around, it was all about 'not caring, not giving a ****', then, ten years later, when Emo popped up it was all about 'giving way way way way too much of a ****'.

In LA, we got Steve Jones on the radio, formerly of the Sex Pistols. He said that to be Punk doesn't mean that you have to look like it. It's a statement. It's a way of life.

Anyway, most of the EMO kids don't listen to EMO. It's more of a style than anything else.

Again, EMO chicks are hot. I've dated some in the past. My current girlfriend is more of a free spirit hippie chick. :)

Common sense aside, the only thing you need to look at is his hair.

The fact is, every single promotional shot of Cyclops from X2, every single one, has his hair styled in exactly the same manner - the slightly messy, sort of bowl-cut look with the few strands on his forehead. Because this is how he looks when he's suited up in X2. Marketing is all about consistency; they really do hang up on specifics like this, like a few strands of hair. Same as how every promo photo of Rogue suited up in X2 has her hair pulled back with 2 white strands hanging down, exactly how it is when she wears the suit in the film, despite there also being scenes in the movie with her hair down.

They did not take dozens of pictures of him with messy hair, and then have a stylist run in, comb his hair and give him a straight part (and extend the length of his hair a good inch for that matter), then take two more shots that they won't even use, throw into archives to be used 3 years later in magazines to promote the next one.

And the hair is only the most glaring difference, the fact that he looks decidedly more mature is another; and for a third, the 2 poses we've seen so far are consistent with what we've seen so far from the other characters, and inconsistent with what we had scene for X2.

Not to mention the fact that using an old photo to promote a new movie is incredibly unprofessional and so out of the realm of anything I've ever heard of before. If Fox even thought Cyclops was important enough to warrant such an elaborate set-up, they'd go all the way and give him his own damn poster, not one picture on the inside of Empire, and one on the cover of French Premiere.

I think it points to the fact that he does play an important part in the movie and that we will see him clean-cut and in uniform (in other words, AFTER Alkali Lake). Again they wouldn't dress him up in uniform just for promos if he never wears it in the movie.

Not the same. She wore that uniform the entire movie. So it wasn't like she ONLY put it on for a photograph and never wore it in the film. See the difference?

If nothing else, I think the Cyclops promos indicate that he will be in uniform at some point in the movie and since we've seen what he looks like before Jean rises, this is clearly AFTER.

I wear tight jeans too, but my girlfriend loves it (i'm serious).

I'm not trying to defend EMO or anything, but if it's a person's style, then so be it. Let them be...can't judge a whole group of people like that.

Great to see the hi res shot of Cyclops! It makes sense that Angel gets an average/basic X uniform in this movie but look closer - Angel's X buckles on his waist and collar are a lighter/brighter shade of blue, almost illuminous blue, there is a subtle difference! Cyclops' suite has more of a dark blue/navy. Imo Angel looks great in uniform anyway!
That Cyclops is a promo from X3, I'm almost sure of it, others have stated the reasons why it is so I'm not gonna go over them again. I'm taking this as a good sign that Cyclops wears his X uniform at some point in X3!

That was a scene that featured the entire team together, minus Jean. Since she was on set, they suited her up and put her in. It was an opportunity for an awesome photo op; the entire team in the oval office.

Taking separate promo photos of one character in a costume he never wears in the movie is completely different.

okay guys i have here the possible ending to X:3 BELOW


After cyclops returns from his coma, he and angel head off to the final battle. When he gets their he sees everyone going berserk. He lands into the fray with Angel, and cyclops starts trying to find Jean. He spots wolverine,Jean,storm, and magneto faceing off in the distance. He runs over as fast as he can, takeing out anybody in his path. He gets their, and magneto aND wolverine are injured on ground and storm is about to fight Jean.

Cyclops comes running up and calls out to Jean. Jean and the others turn around and are shocked to see cyke alive.

"Jean!" Cyke calls out.

Jean sees him, and then runs up to him. The two share a kiss and hug.

"Scott." Jean says in disbelief.

"what happend to you?" Scott asks.

"I thought you were dead, I thought i killed you." Jean answers in desperation.

During all this Wolverine and Magneto are free of jeans control. They slowly get back to their feet. Storm goes to see if Logan is alright.

"Jean you joined Magneto, and did all this?!" Scott asks.

"Im sorry, i could not control...." Jean pleads.

"Im here now, and everything is going to be okay." Scott says in soft voice.

Magneto and the others see something from a distance.

"I would not say that boy." Magneto interjects in a weak voice.

He points to dozens of flying robots heading their way. Jean and cyclops see them now to. Wolverine looks on in disbelief.

"What are those things?" Logan asks.

"Your goverments final solution for the mutant problem." Magneto replies.

"I think i you stop them Magneto." Storm states nerovously.

Magneto laughs.

"Before maybe, but after jeans attack i can barely move." Magneto says with a sad smile.

"We have to do something then!" Wolverine demands.

"I can stop them Logan." Jean states.

Wolverine runs down next to her and cyclops.

"You can't" cyclops says sadly.

"Hes right!" Logan says.

"I have to, i am the only one who can." Jean pleads.

"No we will stop them another way!" Logan says.

"Jean please." Scott pleads.


As the trio talk, something sneaks up behind scott.

"Cyclops!" Wolverine screams.

a mutant jams a weapon into cylcops chest. Logan immeditlay kills the mutant afterwards.

"Scott!" Jean calls out.

she rushes to his side, as the he lay on the ground bleeding to death.

"Scott please." Jean says sadly.

"I love you jean, and seeing.....your face one last time is all i wanted to do." Scott says.

Logan comes down next to him as well.

"Listen slim, you and i have never seen eye to eye. But we have always had one thing in common we both love Jean." Logans says. "Shes your wife and she chose you before, you and her were gonna have 2 kids and ****." Wolverine says with a smile.

"Well Logan your gonna do all that now." Scott says with his last breath.

"SCOTT!!!." Jean screams.

Cyclops dies in her arms as logan,storm, and magneto look on sadly. Jean slowy rises up her body surrounded with flames. Her eyes a pure red, as the sentinels are about to attack. She turns back to wolverine, and then flys off into the sky. The X-men and brotherhood see her phoenix flames and the sentinals and stop their battle. They look on as she flys towards dozens of sentinels.

"Jean!" Wolverine calls out.


The approaching sentinels spot her, and then prepare to fire. Jean eyes glow with fire, and then she runs through the dozens of sentinals! A huge bright explosion follows as the sentinals each are blown away. Wolverine jumps off the broken bridge into the water, and swims with all his might to try and find jean. Beast and the other X-men look on in disbelief.

"Astounding." Beast comments.

.................................................. ......

Jean and wolverine were never found that day, and the X-men are left to wonder what became of them.

12 months later Somewhere in the west....

Now, back to Cyclops. I was looking at that magazine cover and I think the reason Cyclops looks a little off is becaus his suit is heavly padded so hi neck look too far back! Jimmy isn't as buff as he once was, I guess working nonstop cuts into gym time. In any event, I think the muscle padding is what makes he proportions seem odd, that and the angle...

That would be cool and it would make up for how little he was used in the past two films. Ultimately, the real losure for his arc is to take over the school after Xavier's death.

And quite honestly, I think Xavier's outlived his usefulness. He was always more a representative of an idea than an actual player in the battle. I think he should die and maybe cameo in X4 either as a hologram or in a dream sequence...

But Cyclops must live....and he will.

It really says "The final fight" but the name of the movie in French is "X-Men 3: L'affrontement Final" (The Final Confrontation). I think "La Lutte finale" is just a way of promoting the movie for that magazine.

english and french are more similar than most people know because a lot of french words got incomporated into english .. but different words have different meanings in both language.. like in english we would say "emergeny" room while the french use the word "urgent"

The more I see the more I think Cyclops has a bigger role than we think. I think FOX is marketing him more overseas than they are here, because they know the buzz around his fate here...

X-MANSION:


cyclops wakes up from his coma, and the professor is observing the Final battle useing his mind. Cyclops hops up, and runs over to him.

"Professor whats going on?" Cyclops asks.

The Prof is happy to see cyke awake again, but he then remebers the situtation.

"Cyclops magento and his brotherhood have beaton the X-men down. The goverment has also unleashed massive mutant killing machines.You are the only one left to stop them." Xavier says.

"Let me take them on Professor." Cyclops pleads.

"But scott you will be all alone against them ." Xavier reasons.

"Give me this chance Professor, i can handle them!" Cyclops pleads again.

"Very well then scott, may the power protect you." Xavier says with a smile.

"Alright, then its morphing time!" Cyclops yells out. "Cyclops power!"

He then is fully dressed in his X-uniform and visor. He then teleports to the golden gate bridge.

He looks on as he sees his X team all knocked out, and hundreds of sentinels comeing at him and the brotherhood memebers.

"Okay then, i call on the Blackbird!" Cyclops calls out.

He raises his hand in the air, and the balckbird streaks buy him. He leaps 50 feet into the air and into the blackbird cockpit.

"Give me the power!" He yells.

The more I think about it, the more absurd it sounds. They won't kill off Cyclops early in the film and have him miss the entire Phoenix saga!

Also, as far as recognition goes. I think Cyclops is second only to Wolverine in being an icon of the X-Men to the general public.


I think you are correct. Cyclops is second only to Wolverine as far as general audience recognition is concerned.

For example the new action figure line, although it's not an offical Xmen 3 line, it is inspired by the film and features two or three different figures of Angel and Beast. The kicker is that it features about 6 wolverines and 5 Cyclops figures--they are by far the most. Wolverine and Cyclops both have vehicle figures as well and they are the only ones to.

Next is the minimates new line inspired by the film that features Cyclops, Wolverine, Mags and Jugs--interesting choices really.

There is other evidence as well. Including trailers that continue to feature the character, and even the sure volume of post on imdb, the fact that mainstream magazines and websites are questioning filmmakers about Scott's role in the film, and the sheer volume of inquires that the writers have taken as well. Let's not forgot how many post this thread has. By asking around not all of these people are mainstream comic-verse individuals, many of them aren't huge X-men fans and are just excited by the scale of the summer film and the hype that others are falling into.

Mystique and Pyro are more well known than Cyclops to the mainstream? Mainstream? Usually I don't care what people have to say, but this is just silly.

I've got friends who aren't into comics but they some about the X-Men. When they think of Cyclops, they think of a leader and a member of the core group.

Well Simon confirmed it wasn't the same suit as Cyclops. The color is different, if we believe his answer, then it will not be Cyclops suit. However that does not mean Cyclops can not give him the suit, just that it is not the same as Cyclop's suit.

Angel's blue X buckles are a different shade of blue to Cyclops'. Angel's blue is lighter and brighter/more striking, Cyclop's is darker blue/navy. Angel also has black piping, Cyclops has blue. The suits are subtly different.

Every crossover has had him as a main character if not THE main character (Inferno, Phoenix Saga, Jim Lee X-Men, X-Factor, Stan Lee X-Men, X-Ecutioners Song, 1980s X-Men, and virtually every X-Team he was involved in featured him prominently). Cyclops is second only to Wolverine if that. There is a good chance if we include the comic world that Cyclops is far more influential and intergral to the overarching plot of X-Men than Wolverine will ever be. The list probably goes Wolverine, Cyclops, Xavier, Storm, Jean Grey, Magneto, Gambit, Rogue, Nightcrawler....Mystique doesn't even register.

I FIGURED they were different, what other color is angel going to wear honostly. i think the blue should be just a TAD lighter and i think he should have blue piping, liek sky blue so its noticable. Cykes is really dark and unnoticable ona random viewing.
