Hey, at least your dream was cool!

In my dream me and all the other x-men were sitting in the cinema to watch the film. cyke right to my left. suddenly someone goes "scott." all heads turn to the left just to see jean, the normal good old jean, stand there an stare at her husband. cyke (till this happening he was totally bored) jumps to his feat an says : "jean!"

I had a dream that an Alien from the Alien movies was in my basment, so me and my friend were trying to kill him, and he hid in the freezer...... I grabbed a baseball bat and was going to hit it in the head when me buddy opened the freezer, when he opened it, I swung and hit a bag of corn, the alien was gone, it dug it's way out........ then I woke up....... cool dream tho

I always loved the deleted scene/fake-out where you're led to believe that Xavier actually escapes and goes back to the mansion with Scott in X2. I wish they'd kept that in the film. Hey, if nothing else... more Cyclops face-time.

Yeah, those scence were really great. I also like the scene where Jason creates the illusion that xavier doesn't need his wheelchair anymore. He just looks out of the window, then to his feet, sees that he can stand on his own and one single tear rolls over his cheek...A really touching moment.

yeah im gettin started...for cyclops in the movie...whatever role he plays still isn't goin to satisfy me...I can't blame marsden for wanting to do another film since his role got diminished since x1....if they were interested in his character he wouldn't be doing another film...I don't if any other actor is double shootin in the cast except him..

I'm thinking Cyclops is either A) Knocked out and sent into a coma, B) kidnapped and possibly revealed as Sinisters prisoner/test subject), or C) leaves for a while and comes back for the final battle.

But those are my own opinions.

I don't think Ratner has thought through every single one of his comments. He's just throwing his comments out there and isn't trying to be logically consistent.

the main thing to take away from reading anything the thousands of replies on this thread is this: dead or alive, don't expect much from cyclops ! no matter how "pivitol" his role might be, he'll probably have less screen time than in x2. don't expect him to take command of the team, don't expect to see an epic story of enduring love (like the comics in the dark phoenix saga)

a very quote from one of my favorite songs:
"don't expect too much from me, you might not be let down."

x-men fans will LOVE this film, I am pretty sure I will enjoy it, but as a cyclops fan i already know its going to be s*** .. so let out your frustrations and anger out now rather than in the theatre :)

Of course he's saying it's the last film. He's only attached to this film. If there was a X4 he may not be attached to it.

Plus with Marvels new deal with Paramount, it may be their way of getting the character rights back from Fox. Marvel wants to keep everything in house for profit (they make very little off the films compared to the studios).

The bottom line is, if this movie is a success, there will be an X4. You can bank on it. I can only hope that they will pay as much attention to detail and quality as the first three.

I don't care if they make 100 more X-men films, or if this is the last one. I just want any others to be quality movies, and not just something thrown on screen to make a buck.

all i can say is that deaths are relative in the x-men universe... phoenix die and is reborn.... unless they make rebirth, ressurect, or rebirth relative now.

At one point I remember reading that Ratner also forgot that Haley Ramm was cast as young Jean for the movie. So I think he has a bad memory about things we like.

That he's maybe separating from the team for a while to deal with his loss. Thus they display him as a loner in a lot of the promos. Not all, but to show this particular side of his story.

i'm hoping that him not in uniform means he will "die" or appear to die at the lake, then make a surprise come back at the end to save the day...so hopefully most normal movie goers will notice that there's nothing of him in uniform in these ads, so when they see him supposedly die in the movie, they'll think that was it...thus making his surprise return at the end even better...HOPEFULLY...either that or he really dies and that's it...=(

He isnt in uniform, but neither is Angel. If there is to be a shock arrival of both characters at the end of the film then I have no concern about the lack of uniforms. It would give the game away to a large audience, just glad to see both characters are in the same boat cos I really can not see Angel one of the original Xmen not hooking up with the Xmen at the end of the film.

A year ago, rumors were certain the X-Men (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0376994/) franchise would extend for several more flicks if box office profits remained strong. I'm sure this has been posted before, but have any of you read the May issue of Premiere. In it James Marsden talks about the film and wearing the suit. Here's an excerpt from the article:

"In some ways, Marsden says, the third installment felt awfully familiar. Take those leather X-getups. 'It was a Pavlovian response once I got into the suit: "Ah, yes, this discomfort," ' says the actor..."

It goes on to explain that he followed Singer to Superman. But that to me indicates that he doesn't die and possibly returns to fight at the end. Don't forget that we've also seen Angel in costume even though he hasn't been seen in the Alcatraz scene by us, so it's likely that he will show up at the end with Cyclops and others. In that same article there is a shot of him in the suit with the other x-men, which to me look like an update of the ones from the previous films. I may be wrong, but hopefully this will brighten the day of fans of Cyclops, seeing that the previous reports of his apparent death at the hands of Jean Grey may be false.

His persona was what I think drew me to him in the first place, and only after did I learn of the great backstory he has.

By the looks of the trailers (and that's all I know), Cyclops seems to disappear extremely early in TLS, and Logan takes over his role with Jean. If this turns out to be true, I can see why they made the change, but that doesn't mean I can't be extremely pissed off about it. Cyclops is essential to the Dark Phoenix story, not Logan.

But that's the way it goes. Hopefully there'll be a surprise or two on May 26. Thanks for reading.

You are confusing yourself. The crew member who provided that information stated that is was Jean Grey's and that another character would follow....basically he was saying at the beginning of the film we have Jean's tombstone....then later another character gets added (we assumed Xavier). He also made other notes about changes to the property such as adding a ice rank which turned out to be true. You can look back for the post, gosh it is going to take a while to find. However Worthy, Maze and Peter were all posting back then and should be familiar with it. Maybe someone will go locate it.

my GF's mom, is manager of a local Barnes and Noble, she know's what an x-men freak I am, she sends me up all the ultimate graphic novels and everything, she wrote me an email saying they got a shipment of new childrens books that will hit the shelve next week...... she's going to send me a copy of each, I asked her if she could tell me if cyclops in the childrens book towards the end, I described what the character looked like......... she said he wasn't.......... I wrote her back, and asked her to tell me wether he dies or not, she still hasn't wrote me back...........

exactly, when i found out about the rumours, my heart sank and after looking at more info, i saw that it was a good chance he'll die .. so ive learned to accept it but i want to have that confirmation so that i might at least enjoy as much of the movie as i can (if its even possible at this point)

You just can't stop can you? Its almost to the point of ridiculous! I never accused him of being fake (hence, slapping him in the face) but said he contradicted what his friend had said. Then I went on to discuss and speculate about how the content did not add up to what the writers had promised. I don't ever "beg," my friend. I just wanted to keep this thread nice and OPEN, you know, for the absent minded, a simpler definition - not closed... Oh, he never "kicked" me in my "ass" - In all honesty, it wasn't offensive, but childish and weak. I cared for the well-being of this thread in trying to calmly stop his stupidity so it wouldn't be closed. :)

I believe you Joker. There's really no reason to think that a kids book would be a 100% faithful adaptation of the movie itself. I highly doubt they would ruin many of the surprises.
