I loved the angels in that movie. oh that scene was spectacular and they totally take the wind out of your chest when you see them in action (ie. the Liquor store and ascending into the sky. I wanted to see more of them.

I'd look through some Joe Mad-pencilled books...Uncanny 321-350 though he goes back to his feather wings in 338, can't you tell i'm a fan of Mad's :p Also there's this great Leinil Francis Yu spread that i remember with Angel with his feather wings spread out during Revolution in Uncanny, 380 onwards. I'll try scanning some if you want.

I saw the special today too. He was looking way buffer than I've seen him before, and I felt much more reassured about him playing Angel.

The show was called "The Fab 40 in 2006" or something, and it was 2 hours long and the Ben Foster part was around the 00:30 mark in the show. It didn't talk about X-Men much but it did refer to his part as the "bad boy" part and showed what Ben Foster looks like now. I'm pretty impressed so far.

You know I saw it too and now I have to take back the fugly comment I made cause not only did his physique look good but he looked pretty darn cute. Also, I think if they did that, then I would rather see "Archangel" as the name, even though he isnt really "Archangel". I mean, Warren was messed up when he became Archangel.

No. They released an album in 04. It was pretty good. Smith is cool like this. He has a ton of money, but he only has a simple apartment, not much stuff.

Oddly enough, the crappy quality is due to me having to do exactly what Lightning said, in that I had to take these with a camera phone. Also, the trainer he's training with, Harley Pasternak, is the same one that Halle Berry uses.

His hair looks like it's combed upwards. But that may be inconsequential for two reasons:

A.) Because he's flying in a downard swoop, the wind currents would obviously cause his bangs to flare upwards

B.) Depending on how far the camera is, we may not be able to make much out of his hair anyway, aside from the fact that he's blonde.

I really hope though that he sports the cupid-cut. It really compliments his features.

EDIT: I agree with you by the way. I definitely prefer au naturel wings and I'm thinking they will go with something like that. The question is, how CGI heavy will that be to accomplish that? Or will they do prosthetics?

If you've seen the HBO Original MIni Series: Angels in AMerica then you'll just how aweinspiring they'll be able to make it. I just hope he's soaring and not bouncing.

I for one am an Arkangel fan but because of the uniqueness of the advanced mutation and the evolution of the character.

Perhaps he won't join the X-Men a la Nightcrawler. It's obvious that Hank will be part of the team, but Warren's story arc is a pretty big piece of X3's puzzle so it might not be necessary for him to get an X-uniform.

Jean has a flashback scene as well, and we all know her importance in this movie.

To me, Angel will be very important in this movie, which gives more hope to him being on the X-team.

yeah, that scene is going to be AMAZING. there also looks like they'll be a little more to that scene we saw in the trailer, becuase it goes black in between him thrashing and his wings unfurling. and, well, to be honest, (and im biased since he's my favourite) i think that any scene with him in it will be great, just because of his wings (which i think look great.) and the conflict angel has in this movie (to be a mutant or not)

Man seeing those pictures on the first page make me cringe, I hate that every artists interpretation of superheroes is that they make them steroid taking muscle freaks.

Cyclops and Angel both should be slender, the muscles should show from their skinniness not from their buff steroid popping workouts.

This thread is freaking huge and I wish I could read all of it, but alas too much time. However Archangel/Angel is one of the first X-men I loved, and continues to be that way. The first two comic books I ever read seriously were X-factor and Classic X-men. So I got to see both version at the same time, Angel when he was in Classic X-men (the book I got was the very beginning of the Phoenix saga coincidentally, Proteus and the like, Warren appeared a little later) and the X-factor was just after Inferno.

It's a shame that I think the script is going to ruin this film for me, just an opinion, but it's mine. It's nice to see Angel finally get his due in the movies though. Now they've had every member of the original team, and while they've disrespected one or two of them, at least they got them in there.

Even with hollow bones, there's still everything else in his body that weighs alot, and you need a lot of muscle to be able to lift all of that. So yes, Angel's character needs very much to be muscular.

His bones are hollow like someone else said, he's very light. He doesn't have to be hulking huge. He can be muscular and not look like a pro wrestler. Look at his earlier pictures like when he was with Xfactor pre-loss wings. He doesn't need to look like a damned steroid freak.

Someone before pointed out that parts of the colored piping look more of a light blue, almost white, color, so she could have tried to manip parts of it to make it look more like Scott's uniform. Angel will get his own, not the leftovers from someone else.

With this summer's third installment of the blockbuster "X-Men" series, Foster finally seems ready to take that flight — quite literally.

"Archangel is not a crystal-meth-addict skinhead," the affable young star grinned, comparing his "X-Men" role to his "Alpha Dog" one. "I just get to fly around all day. I think the fans are gonna be pleased."

Foster was picked from a huge casting call to take on the role of Warren Worthington III, a character who made his debut in the first "Uncanny X-Men" comic book some 40 years ago. With enormous wings and a powerful bloodline that speeds along his regeneration, Worthington's discovery of his mutant properties threw him off-course as an upper-class kid who excelled at New York's finest private schools. Over the past four decades the character has undergone such adventures as a tense recruitment by Professor X (Patrick Stewart in the movies) and a deadly battle that saw his wings amputated and later replaced by metallic replicas that inspired the name Archangel.

Although Foster is mum when it comes to spoiler-heavy plot details, the fact that he refers to Worthington by his evolved name will undoubtedly feed Internet rumors that his character will go through the "lost wings" story line in the film.

Foster has similarly been instructed to keep a lid on the evolution of Famke Janssen's Jean Grey, who is expected to join forces with Magneto (Ian McKellan) in the sequel after she evolves into Phoenix. "I can't say these things," he said when asked to comment on the film trailer's brief glimpses of Grey and Magneto standing side by side. "I don't believe in villains, just damaged people."
