ProfeZZor X your avy That's Iceman? what's that from?

It's Iceman, from the 1990's cartoon. Only, this is from the Japanese intro of the show. Something that never made it to the USA version of the cartoon. I used to work for the company that produced the show, so I knew what it was right away when someone here posted it..... So I grabbed it.

I actually thought that was a pretty good look for his powers in the movies... I mean sure it's supposed to be an adaptation of a comic book and they're supposed to have brilliant colours and everything, but I don't want to see his powers look like your av, Prof. X, nor do I want them to look like the game... there's absolutely no reason his ice-blasts should be glowing blue! :p

I agree that his powers shouldn't look like a light source, but it would be very cool to see the moisture from the air collect and condense into his ice creations. I just picture mist gathering into a central area near where his hand is projecting, and solidify into his slide, or whatever it is he creates. The icewall from X2 was a start, but I think the ice effects could look a little better. There are some scenes in the game trailer and screen shots from the game that show what I'm trying to describing.

I know exactly what you mean, I always thought the effects they used for Sub-Zero in the MK movie would look half-decent on Iceman... also that ice-wall he created in X2 should have appeared differently. I didn't like the way it looked like layer after layer of frost... but then again he was just a student.

I was thinking that the mist in his area would implode into a solidified object. Or, what would also look interesting is to see ice chunks form from the air, almost like falling from the sky, and come together to create his slide as he's using it. Another great effect is him radiating cold air from his body. Like Johnny Storm's flaming head, only Bobby has cool mist evaporating from the top of his head. Same thing goes for his hands too.

Another trick he could use are some large and spikey ice gauntlets on his fists and forearms. So while he's fighting in the final battle, he could use them to fight off larger, mutants with superhuman strength or other special abilities.

If they could get rid of that whacky ice costume of his, I'd be alright. I'm thinking it should resemble the same as Colossus, with the sleeveless arms. That way, when he ices up, you can see his transparency better, and maybe a few spikey shards coming out of his shoulders and back of his head.

Looks silver to me. It's blueish when he is creating the ice, so it's probably just the glow from that.

This hasn't been posted yet, but I was watching Entertainment Tonight Canada and they had a feature on Shawn Ashmore (he was modelling some really preppy clothes for a magazine). They didn't tell us anything new, they just threw in some clips of the trailer while they were talking... he said it was great to be back on set with Halle, Hugh, Famke, and everyone else.

I don't know if I'd want him cracking jokes, because some comic writers like to take example from the movies. And if that's the case, maybe this "serious" version of Bobby (the movie Bobby) will be taken more seriously in the comics.

Well, he was never really a "serious" character, the movies just made him out to be that way. So far the only jokester that has kept his full persona from the teen trio of Spidey, Human Torch and Iceman is Torch.

Ransacking Manhattan with deadly magnetic waves is only the beginning of the terrible supervillain’s reign of terror; first New York, then the WORLD!

The only ones who can save the day are a small band of heroes who have vowed to combine their amazing powers to fight criminals for truth and justice. They are Bobby Drake, the incredible ICEMAN! Angelica Jones, the fiery FIRESTAR! And former high school wallflower, now full-time wall-crawler, Peter Parker, the amazing SPIDER-MAN!

When we last left our heroes, Iceman and Firestar were waiting for Spider-Man to rendezvous with them on top of Iceman’s college dormitory, to formulate a plan to stop Magneto…

FIRESTAR: Bobby, why can’t you be accepting of Spidey’s new suit of armor? He seems happy with it, and it might help expand the way he fights crime now.

SPIDER-MAN: Hot Stuff is right; so why don’t you cool off, Snow Cone, and let’s go take down the bad guy? I bet with this new Iron Spidey armor, we’ll make our most amazing save ever!

ICEMAN: THE NAME OF THE GUY WE’RE FIGHTING IS MAGNETO. Magneto! Our bad guy can CONTROL. METAL. How is that armor going to help you fight crime when the super villain can tear it open and peel you like a banana?

FIRESTAR: Do you think Mister Stark can make one of those for me in a size four?

ICEMAN: Is ANYONE listening to ME? Your armor is useless against a dude who CONTROLS METAL.

SPIDER-MAN: Size four? In your dreams, Hot Stuff.

FIRESTAR: You’d better watch it, Spidey, or I’ll ask Johnny Storm to take me out, and on our date we’ll superheat your pretty new dress when you’re not looking.

SPIDER-MAN: Okay, okay, I give…biatch.

ICEMAN: “Biat--”? Did this whole cartoon stop making sense five minutes ago? Who’s writing this schlock, anyway?

SPIDER-MAN: Okay; so let’s go stop Magneto from destroying the city, shall we? We’d better hurry before Aunt May realizes I skipped out on dinner!

FIRESTAR: You didn’t make up some excuse?

SPIDER-MAN: I told her I was going to the bathroom. I figure she’ll never realize I slipped out the bathroom skylight.

ICEMAN: Wait, how did you get out of the skylight with that thing? Isn’t it bulkier than your old skin-tight suit?

SPIDER-MAN: […] Okay, so I might have demolished half the bathroom ceiling on my way out. I’ll fix it when I get back.

ICEMAN: You destroyed half the house?!

SPIDER-MAN: She’s old! She’ll never notice!

ICEMAN: How can she not notice when half the ceiling comes crashing down because of a giant Spider-Man shaped hole in the roof???

FIRESTAR: That poor, poor woman. I bet good roofers are expensive these days.

SPIDER-MAN: It’s no big deal. It wasn’t a load-bearing ceiling or anything.

ICEMAN: NNNNNNGGGGGH. Don’t you see what a problem this iron Spider-Man suit is becoming? It’s heavier, bulkier, and uglier--

ICEMAN: --it’s got some sort of Doctor Octopus type thing going on; and above all, you can’t use it to fight Magneto, who by this time probably has decimated three quarters of Midtown Manhattan!

SPIDER-MAN: I can too fight Magneto! I’m the Amazing Spider-Man, and along with that comes great power. I took a vow years ago, after my poor, doomed Uncle Ben was killed because of my actions, that I would never sit idly by and let any innocents be harmed. Because with--

ICEMAN and FIRESTAR: “--great power comes great responsibility.”

ICEMAN: Jesus, dude, give it a rest already. We get it. You ****ed up, and now you’re Spider-Man.

ICEMAN: All I’m saying is that you keep getting ridiculous **** that ends up coming back to bite us all on the collective ass. Venom. Carnage. The Raimi brothers. The Spider-mobile. …Okay, granted that was pretty funny, but I’m just saying spider, please!

SPIDER-MAN: I don’t have to sit here and take this from a human Freeze Pop, you know. This suit is the best thing that ever happened to me. I’m a Spider-Man for the new millennium.

ICEMAN: Which millennium is that -- the one that embraced O-Town and Nickelback as musical geniuses, or the one that made a multi-million dollar X-MEN movie and cast the bald, fat guy from “Cheers” as Cookie Monster?

SPIDER-MAN: You’re just jealous, Ice-Boy! Jealous that you’re the “and” in “and his Amazing Friends” rather than top billing. This is my show, and if I want to wear the suit, I’m going to wear the suit.

FIRESTAR: We’re the “and”? I always wondered why our names weren’t up there. I’m not an ampersand. Am I? I’m not.

ICEMAN: Oh, by all means, Gobot Spidey! Please, take your one-ton metal spider suit and go do battle with the deadly mutant genius with the magnetic powers. Maybe he’ll let you off with only a few thousand bruises you’ll have to hide from your aunt so she doesn’t keel over and die… again.

FIRESTAR: I know I’m definitely NOT a parenthesis. I should call my agent. He would know.

SPIDER-MAN: Why don’t you take your figure skates and triple axel on home where you can ride on Wolverine’s coattails some more? It’s no wonder they cast you as a kid in the movie…Ice Boy. Y’know what? I don’t need this. I’m going to swing over and handle Magneto myself.

ICEMAN: Ooh! Do me a favor; put your old costume in that garbage can over there and walk away slowly, saying how you’ll be Spider-Man…NO MORE! Yeah, do THAT. You’ve never done THAT before.

He looks really cool iced up with his uniform on, there's just something about the shape of his head that makes him look... alien, almost. I guess it's because we've seen him so long with the squarish skull from the comics.

Minus the Lex Luthor hairdo, I think he'd look a lot better with a square flat top on his head, rather than the bald look... And I agree, his head does look alien-like. Although, I'd shoot myself if he looked like this in the movie.... And no offense to your artistic skills, but he does kind of look like Leech with a head cold.

I don't necessarily think he has to be bald. He hasn't been bald in all the comics. Besides, we've got enough baldies as it is with Leech, Juggernaut, and Xavier :p

When you look at it at that size, you can actually make out a Widow's peak in his hairline. Most of the other, especially the newer comics from which most of the character seem to be getting inspired from costume-wise, pictures that google came up with also had his hair iced up with him.

Other than that it's an awesome manip. the texturing is great, as is the coloring. the bald look just doesn't suit ashmore at all :/

That's a great look for him in the comics, but not in the movie. It wouldn't be realistic enough to pull off, and it would scare the kiddies to have some ice monster rise up out of the ground. I'm just saying the way his hair is sculpted in this ice form would make sense, since he'll be 100% wet.

Yeah, I don't think I'd want to see Iceman that large either. Let's put it this way.... I don't want to see Iceman iced-up turn into what the Hulk turned into. A big, giant, plastic looking ice-cube (er, green thing in the hulk's case).

Yeah, I don't think I'd want to see Iceman that large either. Let's put it this way.... I don't want to see Iceman iced-up turn into what the Hulk turned into. A big, giant, plastic looking ice-cube (er, green thing in the hulk's case).

I seriously don't think that will happen in the movie. After all, the reality side of this movie tends to stay more on the realistic physics side of things. Hulk was pushing it, but they provided an ample amount of data to back up the science behind Banner's transformation into the green goliath. Making Hulk a regular person with great strength would have been ridiculous on screen and in the real world, just as a hulking glacier-like Iceman... Although I wonder what he would look like if they did make him like that. :up:

From the looks of the first few trailers, i though Collossus and Iceman would be in the movie A LOT, but now, by the looks of posters and previously answers and things, it seems they have small parts. I LOVE collossus and think that Bobby is a real asset to these X movies. I would hate to see there parts go to wastes, mainly because you could do so much with them and they are fan favorites. I would love to see them have more than a little screen time. Since they are not on the posters, i am thinking i can assume they wont be in the movie that much. Can you address my concern?

**Iceman is a very substantial part of the film. He has a bigger role in this movie than the previous two. The same is true for Colossus – in terms of him having a bigger part in this movie than the previous two (but he’s not as big a factor in the film as Bobby).
I know Simon had already mentioned a few months ago that Bobby would have a pretty decent role in the movie, but I thought I'd post this here anyway since it's new.. :up:

If you want to compare CGI characters, let's say that the Hulk looked a heck of a lot better than the Human torch...

You also have to remember that his skin texture isn't that of a normal human being, simply because he's made up from a smorgasborg of different creatures. The only good CGI Human Torch scene was the facial shot. But even that didn't come close to the overall look of the Hulk.

In Iceman's case, I just pray that when they ice him up, he doesn't have those cartoon-like movements like Peter Parker did when he was jumping from rooftop to rooftop.

As much as I've devoted my time to posting in this forum, scheduling vacation time for the opening day, constantly discussing this movie with my coworkers, and supporting the comic book...... I would utterly refuse to see this 3rd movie if I knew for certain that the picture above is what his "iced up" version looks like.

That's like them wrapping Daniel Cudmore in aluminum foil to create Colossus. It would be a huge insult to Marvel, the franchise and the fans.

At least some of us can get an idea of what he'll look like from that.

Then again, I'm sure all those Phoenix, Storm, Cyclops, and Beast fans out there will find a reason why those characters made a better impression than an iced up and slide-riding Iceman.

I'm really not digging anything about the game Iceman, other than him riding an ice slide, firing off his cold blasts, and kicking Sentinel ass. And although I'll get the game solely based on him being in it, I have yet to see how he performs in it.

The whole look with him being in a fully covered leather body suit with an ice head sticking out of it is just stupid. If Colossus can have a modified uniform, they should have come up with something far more creative to exemplify Iceman's powers, or something that shows off more of his ice form. I think that most fans would have been cool if they came out with a body suit like in the Fantastic Four movie. It would make sense for when he iced up, and could have been worn with a leather X-Men jacket or something. Oh well.... Too late now.

I wonder why they haven't shown that many effects for the movie. It seems like it's a bigger secret than what it really needs to be. Just watching the trailer for the last Star Wars movie was filled with spoilers and special effects. You knew C3PO was finally gold, what the emperor looked like, and what a charred Anakin looked like, long before the movie came out.

My gut feeling tells me that there really aren't a lot of CGI effects in this film, and that this movie won't be that much different (in terms of CGI effects) than the last two. Too much character-driven subplots to make up (or distract us) from the lack of CGI effects.

Do you think the reason why we haven't seen any of the CGI effects is because there aren't that many?

I think Pyro will win out when they shoot their opposing ice and fire at each other...but Iceman will freeze up and survive....and when Pyro turns his back....

Though I actually wouldn't mind seeing Iceman killed by Pyro. It's not that I don't like Iceman, I just think it would be very emotional and meaningful for one of the younger X-men to perish in the final batte. And for Iceman, it would be especially poignant after Logan's speech warning Iceman about what they're up against ("You might not come home, she might not come home....") and Iceman's willingness to fight.

Once a tv spot like this one is discovered and announced on a forum here, it usually takes about 3-5 hours before it gets uploaded and ready for download.. :p

Exactly, I'm tired of seeing Anna's snotty nose dripping with boogers and everyone having pity for her. Her character has been all drama ever since the first flick. Then in the 2nd one she finally gets a boyfriend, and now last but not least she gets cheated on by an untangible homewrecker.

The only lines we'll get is those of Wolverine, Logan, Professor X, Magneto, Blah Blah Blah... Im so fed up with their voices, no offense but Rogue should now take the spot light even in just 1 (or make it 2) tv spots or at least a dramatic line in the trailer. sighs! is that hard to ask for? huh? fox? lol.

Usually someone in the eastern timezone sees it and sends the alert out. Then several hours later, someone in either the central or western timezone is able to catch the spot and put it online.

I agree. It will be a major give-away for the fans. ;) But she has lines besides that whole cure plot that revolves around her? Anyway, the movie is almost out you guys, just be patient for a little longer. :D

Please keep in mind that like Marsden, Anna was away filming another film as well during the X-Men shoot. That may, or may not, have something to do with her lack of face time. We'll have to wait and see.
