I thought this might be a nice idea:

Using the description below as reference (from SuperHeroHype's front page), do a drawing, painting or photo-manip of The Beast as he might look in the third installment of the X-Men franchise.

"...I also had the luck of literally walking into Kelsey Grammer with his Beast head on, T-Shirt and shorts...I was going up the driveway to my car and he was coming down to the castle...The Beast is awwwwwesome!...I didn't recognize him because I was so astonished with the face...I told him he was "looking good" and then recognized his voice when he said thanks. The face is jet black and huge and builds up on his squarish features. Just at the side the skin turns a deep blue with a solid line running down the side so his ears are blue and his neck and shoulders. The hair is a different blue and looks like he put his finger in an electric socket. No one will be disappointed !"

Sounds cool to me.

Maybe not his physique, but everything else is perfect. Have you ever watched the Hellboy making of stuff? They talked about how it was great to have someone so small for Abe Sapien. They said it's much easier to build muscles onto someone little, than to do the same on someone larger. Since it's the same people doing the makeup, I'd say he's a great choice. :D

I would have thouught they'd cast Steve Basic as The Beast considering that he had that cameo as Hank McCoy in X2...and even though I thought it was funny when I first found out that Kelsey Grammer was playing The Beast, I think it could work. He and The Beast have similar perrsonalities.

my guess, both. from what is discribed. its close to how he looks in the comics. not so much is current look , more cat-like, but the classic look. to pull that off, i think they will use refferences from both ape and lion. could be interesting.

Agreed. Where as I liked the questions it rose, "Is it the next stage in my evolution, or is it like Cassandra NOva said, AM I devolving? How long before I'm playing with a ball of string befroe the students?! I am a HUMAN BEING."

But overall, I think the look sucks.

And I think Beast was crushed by a Sentinel in Ultimate.

anyway beast was my favorite ultimate character..when he died i only read the issue after to see the aftermath.then i dropped the book

Yeah, that and he got blasted by a sentinel right before. He was a loner in UXM though, he had it comin'. I'm predicting he'll come back around when X3 comes out. Hopefully. Mind you, we have yet to see somebody come back from the dead in the Ultimate Universe. Crap. *crosses fingers and hopes*

he got killed off a while ago, i forget what issue number, but it was right after he joined up with Emma Frost and the rest of her team. During like a press conference kind of thing a bunch of Sentinels came and they killed him.

well I'll take that as a compliment I'm doing something RIGHT :)

I am a pretty good Tales From The Crypt style artist - but i wanted to make him more painterly
And something frightening or disturbing always seems to creep in to my work

Maybe I'll make him smile more and put Pinz nez on him

Would that soften him up any?

It was confirmed long ago that he would indeed be blue and furry.

They'll be using the Ape Beast as to have him Cat-like would involve too much in the way of facial prosthetics and would therefore hide too much of Kelsey's Beastlike and oft times very mobile and expressive features.

I can't quite imagine what he'll look like facially (not worried about the body as it sounds from the description of running into Kelsey in only his beast head, that it'll be an easily removable muscle suit with fine fur on it rather than a 16hr multiple make-up or prosthetic event like Mystique or Kurt) but I suspect the only noticeable change to his features will be a slightly wider and flatter nose than a normal human's. Pointy ears of course, but thats easy. They'll keep his mouth the same as Kelsey has quite a wide mouth like the Jim Lee/Andy Kubert Beast.

That actually might be a gopdlook in the film so it combines Ape features with velvety catlike face fur
