I thought Razor was good, not quite what I was expecting which I guess is ok, because I still found it rather enjoyable. I dvr'ed it though so I didn't have the commercials breaking it up so it seemed more fluid to me. Although really, I'm with whoever felt they should have made a separate introduction for it. I mean, I felt kind of cheated on that part. Season 4 can't get here soon enough.

Hey BL, long time no speak. I don't know who that man was, I reckon we'll learn more in season 4, unless we already know and I'm just being slow?

it's been there for months, otherwise, you could find a rip of it on any bt sight. There was really high demand for just the song, and when the whole CD came out, AATWT was ripped all over the place... me thinks you haven't looked to hard

Razor was pretty good, maybe Admiral Cain was a bit over the top with her methods, but it gave us tension, intensity and the acting was great. I was very happy to see the "good old Cylons" back, I used to watch the original BSG back in the '80s, nice touch. Now we have to wait for months for the S4 premiere, frak!

Season 3: was supposed to be out on DVD in North America by now, but SciFi is run by idiots, it will be out when ever they get off their behinds and print some disks

Razor: Supposed to be a movie, but it turned out like an extended episode, rather than a self contained movie. You might enjoy watching Razor, after the opening 4 episode arc of Season 3.

Moreover, I'm suprised that one of the scenes was cut... being a relatively more expensive action sequence... with more fleet sized battles

has Helo killed any in hand to hand? I'm not sure. There's only three instances I can think of. 1) Adama killed Leoben in the MS, 2) Kara killed a 6 on Caprica and 3) Young Adama beat the life out of a Centurion in Razor.

Bulldog killed a version of Xena... but we think that she was sacrificed in order to allow bulldog to escape, and assassinate Adama

Having finally watched Razor; a small part of me is sad that they had to CGI the old-school Cylons.

I was hoping for a full-on retro, man in suit type deal.

Anyone know the reason why they had to use CG? Was it for budget reasons? Or a consious choice to have them appear more akin to current CG cylons?

I reckon it was to make the flow from old-school to modern look smoother. Both are Cylons, so both get the CGI treatment.

Yeah, I figured that might be one of the reasons. It makes sense.

At times, the rendering and animation of the CGI cylons (for me) are the only weak parts of BSG tbh (due to the budget constraints of tv, I guess) so perhaps they came to the conclusion that to feature the old cylons as actual, real practical effects may highlight the lacking CGI even more (?)

yeah, it is, they actually cut out the best part of the movie for the TV broadcast.

go back a page or two, I gave a rundown of what was cut from DVD version as opposed to make it fit in the TV time frame (plus the 45 minutes of advertisment)

I'm not really worried. The cast is pretty dedicated to the show... remember that there was about 2 years between the MS and episode 1 of the series if I remember correctly... and they retained the entire cast over that period (and they didn't even know if the show was going to get a green light)

Yeah I did, the Cain flashback was good, also there is a scene with Lee in it waiting to go to Galactica and behind in sitting somewhere else is Kendra is like woh weird. And then she has a deleted scene in that part too, she sounded so cocky in that scene! lol.
What other ones......oh one with Kara and Shaw in the raptor, I liked that one.
And one of Kara asking why Kendra shot the guy who was being carried away.
Also lot more blood in this verison like when Cain shots the XO blood comes out and goes on the glass thing behind him tis cool :woot:

Well I don't talk common like everyone else round here, so some people laugh when I say words like 'Butter, Automatic etc' words which are said right, and Salt normall said like Sal no 'T' there at all lol
But its ok otherwise not a bad area from I'm from so no trouble at all, work is easy to get to and London is a 20min drive or train ride.

Well as long as the stoy gets a fair deal. Now cheap shortcuts. They can do it all in 10 or 30 episodes as long as they get it right.

and they should in theory be able to have them done, by the time the completed episodes air... ie. we should be able to get the whole season between April and August, seeing that usually, seasons start filming around now for the summer tv season anyways. Couple that with the very small number of episodes they actually have to do... BSG should be over by september... otherwise, some dum ass producer/production company is getting in the way

I could totally go for them chopping the season short, and delivering a 3 hour battlestar movie to finish it off (a la Farscape: peacekeeper wars)

as good as season 2 and 3 were, they felt stretched at points. Season 1, while feeling horribly short, was awesome at every turn. So I'm torn, I'd love to get 20+ episodes in the last season, but I'd love to have a shorter, better story aswell. It's a quality vs. quantity kind of thing

The Writer's Strike has given them time to polish off plots and scripts. It's given them a break to come back refreshed, and while they're not being paid to work, they had the free time to think.

I really doubt any writer in Hollywood would have sat around not writing. As soon as all is back to normal, it's likely we'll see an influx of new scripts.

I reckon the final season won't be harmed that much, and I don't see it ending before its story has been tied up. Afterall, BSG was never axed, they chose to end it after season 4.

For the record, It was Sci Fi that decided to have a longer break between the two halves of season 2.It wasnt due to circumstances, like it would be this time if in fact it comes to pass.
As for Sci Fi viewing BSG as its "darling" you can credit them with pushing for standalone episodes like Black Market, The Woman King, A Day in the Life and Dirty Hands.

The fact that they've made moves that **** the show over hardly means they don't consider it an important part of their line of shows. The suits are just notoriously bad at everything creative.

I just watched the opening credits of BSG - one thing that I never noticed was that when Caprica was nuked - Baltar and 6 were at his home.

He then kind of takes cover behind 6 when the nuke fallout blast hits him.

How did he survive?

We reasoned out, that Baltar's house was out of range of a direct hit, but that the wave of debris was what destroyed the original 6 and his house, which arrived at his house at the end of the scene, some 30-40s. So he was clear, 6 just saved him from getting pelted with splinters and broken glass.
