Man, talk about hitting close to home...
The fact that he took her around NYC shopping was ridiculous.
So now he's biting the Nas/Jay-Z beef...?

For once Jay-Z is taking his sweet time. Jay of a few years ago would've had that new album out so fast, we'd be thinking his first single was the latest single of the previous album. Which is exactly why I got confused and missed Blueprint 2 altogether.

I don't know. I think both songs have some good lyricism (far as southern MCs, anyway) and content, especially on Dead and Gone. I think even if he went with an unknown to sing the hook, it'd still resonate with me, IMO. I hadn't always cared for T.I., but little by little, I've become more and more impressed with him.

Em is out of f'n touch. He's STILL on that stupid accent flow. I thought a few years time off would have given him maturity, but I guess not. For some reason, despite being the biggest rapper this past decade, he still feels he needs to follow a formula to attract the masses.
Given that, I truly hope he redeems himself. Em's first singles are never a good indicator of the rest of his album content. But man, this is greatly disappointing. I can't think of a bigger fall-off than him.

His own producer and his own protege (Dre and 50) are two prime examples of a rapper who was on top of the world in there prime, but now just aren't relevant.
Or what about Nas? The guy who makes just one epic album every 10 years, with filler albums in between. Then we can take it back further, like Rakim, one of the most renowned rappers ever, who later signed with Dre and Aftermath to do what exactly?

Nas and Jay aren't as good now, but I would not say they are completely devoid of lyrical ability and flow. HHID and AG were good albums, for rappers past their primes. I can name at least half a dozen songs from each rapper that don't make me think "man, just retire already".

My Name Is, The Real Slim Shady, Without Me.....were good singles. Flow was tight, lyrics were sporadic but on point, and the song itself worked as a song.
Just Lose It, Ass Like That, We Made You....are examples of Em trying to mimic a style that is clearly not fit for him anymore. It's just bad imitation, and you can tell by his lazy delivery and boring lyrics.
No dude, seriously theres hardly a difference between those songs and his new single. It's the exact same style, with almost the same inflection on how he speaks. The only thing different is that you aren't nostolgaing over it because you aren't 13 or however old you were when Em first hit the scene.
Seriously, listen to The Real Slim Shady then listen to We Made You. His flow might be slightly different now, but these types of songs have always been the same that he's made. They're pop songs, but ragging on pop/celebs to a point where it's "not pop" anymore. That's all there is too it.

Dude, I've listened to the Real Slim Shady thousands of times. There is absolutely no similarities in his delivery. None. ESPECIALLY his flow. I don't know what the hell you're listening to. His voice, accent, and flow are two worlds apart.
There's more similarities with "Ass Like That" if anything.

So because they deal with the same topic, it's all of a sudden the same song? Lyrics, flow, and wordplay are not factors in differentiating the two?
Tell me, is "NY State of Mind" the same as (insert gang-related song of the past decade)?

Eminem is a better emcee but that statement is grossly false..
Lil Wayne does fad music, auto tune, club specific songs, talks collateral, Is ghost written for, and never talks about relevant issues EVER!!!!! He may have skimmed some topics but MOSH alone crushes anything Wayne does due to the diversity of Shady. Honestly Encore had better music than Any of the Carter albums. Not a verse on Encore can be touched by Wayne and that's Em's worst **** ever.
Honestly Wayne is a Fad due to following the general scheme of black music that is marketed to a mostly ignorant and uncreative audience. The auto tune is a gimmick and anyone who participated in it is a Fad rapper cause they can't be original they gotta copy. You DEFINITELY can't put ANYTHING Wayne has done on the same level of lyricism or ORIGINALITY as The Eminem Show all the way back to SSLP.
Wayne sounds like a SOUTHSIDE rapper and his music is generalized and in a box. Eminem has never been in a box and stands out due to it and has never followed trends or fads in making his own ****.
Even Jay Z copies what is current from the same temp and excessive Hi Hat cymbal type club joints known to be the sound of the south. Eminem just sounds like Eminem music. You can't replace Em's vocals with anyone to make the joint any better in most cases where as Wayne does not have a distinctive sound of music, but only his voice and that is not necessarily being original. Sounds like every other pimp, thug, gangsta, drug dealer rapper out there. Unoriginal ****!!!!

Yea he stopped rapping to hip hop heads and hip hop fans alone and started rapping to the entire world and that is why he is still relevant cause he is non confined to a stereotype emcee. commercialized???? He was that the moment Hi my name is came out. He just evolved as an artist but has always been gracing teen magazines to rolling stone covers so the commercialized statement is wack when you consider that he has a record deal and a demand.
NWA was commercialized and so was, snoop, jay z, common, Nas, 2 pac, Biggie, all were VERY commercial rappers cause they wer advertising themselves to the world and meeting a demand for more and more hits gracing covers world wide and so forth.
what is too commercialized???? Bruce Lee going to hollywood to make movies and not staying confined to martial arts in china and on the indie level???? Doing something that EVERYONE can enjoy is not a bad thing at all. making something that only hip hop heads enjoy is what creates FADS and careers like canibus etc...BIS is a beast but was TOO underground LOL.

I don't like a single track on his last two albums. It's just pop music fluff and I really hate Ems producing style. It just sounds so tinny and he uses the same sorta sounds over and over again. He was better when Dre helped him produce the tracks IMO.

Eminem's music is timeless, to me. Like, when Encore came out, I barely listened to it, but now I spin it a couple times a week. It's a fun record and makes me laugh. I mean, Eminem's music is better than this usual stuff that's coming out now, where when a new artist comes out with a bubblegum single, it's only a hit of the week and then forgotten, along with the artist.

Lil Wayne has nothing on Aesop Rock.
First to immerse in the pass-out heat
Face in the mud where the moxie melt
Till he woke up drowning in Tchotchke hell
More in a cave with a torch on the wall
Than a window arrangement of porcelain dolls
On a brand new day, saw what he saw:
Property owners who crawl to the mall
With a bad toupee and a face like he authored a law;
Pace like he mourning a loss
Right hand on a can of worms
Left full of gold he will trade for turf
I mean, that's okay
You got to answer to you at the end of the volatile day
But a model of mercy and might? No way!
Marionette who will clap and obey!
Dude, look... all that noise?
Call that flight of the water boys
Meet and greet and they all slap five
Cheek to cheek when they colonize
And a grown ass man shall abide as he wish
Walk that path with a dime and a stick
Walk that path with a diamond and wine
Walk that path to the firing line
Just walk... (walk...)
Pay no mind to the new recruit with the Play-Doh spine
Let's be friends from opposite ends
Wave to the kid, don't hop on the fence
Play to the radius far and away
Orbit wide, don't park in his space
One little martyr who talk in his face
Make one little Weathermen sharpen the blades

He is only confined to his own element and sounds better than anything else on radio in the past few years other than Lupe who had some off the wall magic too. Eminem is a breathe of fresh air and the beat is creative with his flow sounding better than just lose. I thought he could't impress me ever again at one time when he kept dropping mediocre **** that just didn't rhyme well. This is Eminem show flow again and he had impeccable rhymes on that album. I'm a Weezy fan. He's put out some great stuff. The Drought 3 is probably one of the better albums I've heard, and it's not even a real album! He just kills it on every song. I think Tha Carter 3 was overrated and got old after a few listens, with only a few strong songs on it.
Then, he sort of went nuts with the Autotune. On one hand, there are tracks/verses by Wayne with Autone that are sick (Lollipop Remix, I'm So Paid, Swagga Like Us, etc), but half the time he uses it he just mumbles into it and thinks it sounds good, while in reality, it's nearly impossible to understand what he's saying. And let's not forget his "rock" efforts (Prom Queen, Hot Revolver), which are so awful that even his mainstream fans and people that listen to z100 weren't feeling it.
But he's still got it. Like I posted before, "I'm Not Human" is Wayne's toughest song to come out recently. Meanwhile, Eminem is putting out ****** singles like We Made You. Why does he feel the need to put out singles with "witty" pop culture references that can be featured in the video? And why does his voice sound so stupid when he raps on it, with that dumb accent? I just don't get it and can't wait to hear more of the harder stuff off his new album.

Please don't make me start with all the things Eminem says in his lyrics that make absolutely zero sense. Because I guarentee you the list is miles ahead of any other rapper out there. Go listen to Hailie's Song, Drips, One Shot 2Shot, 97 Bonnine N' Clyde, Without Me...then go listen to some of Waynes absolute BEST, and if you still feel that Eminem cannot be touched at his worst by Waynes BEST then you're either a) a hater, b) an idiot, or c) a troll.

Well maybe so. But I wouldn't put it past some one like Giggs. He isn't after record deals and all that, he wants to stay underground, just releasing mix tapes and MCing at raves. Nah that's pretty much the UG scene anywhere you go. The past two or three years have opened my eyes to what it really means to be an Underground Artist, and bands that flaunt it (ICP, Kottonmouth Kings, to name two. Whom I happen to enjoy listenening to) in all their songs about how their UNDERGROUND and how they're never going "mainstream" have no clue.
I mean, the REAL UG rappers are people no one would have ANY knowledge of unless they're part of the UG circle. And man, I gotta tell you, some of the UG rappers in Saint Pete, FL, are disgustingly sick on the mic. There was a dude at a show I went to about a month ago that made Tech N9ne, Twista, BTnH seem like SLOW rappers, completely off the top of his head freestylin.
Now that, is something I can give props to. After being part of the UG scene for a while (my rap group is constantly doing UG shows, and our fan base grows more and more per show) it's come to my attention that being a mainstream rapper going on national tours ain't worth it. Unless you're going to end up Eminem rich (which you won't), there's no real reason to do anything other than local gigs. ****, we get more ends paid doing 2 UG shows a month than some who tour nation wide as a first few set's on act.

Yea, people like Giggs and that ain't heard of outside of underground circles. But that doesn't mean they lack talent, he is a sick MC. I would try to find some of his stuff on youtube but no luck yet.
That's why I prefer the underground scene. I would much prefer to listen to a decent mix pack or rave/gig recording to a mainstream hip hop album. I don't really buy any new hip hop albums anymore. I just get the old school classics if I do buy any albums.

Weezy isn't a dime a dozen cause he talks about the same **** all other stereotypical black rappers talk about. MONEY, *****ES, JEWELRY, GANG BANGING...
Eminem is on a whole different level with creativity. Wayne is more of a fad follower as in he does what has already been done. Auto Tune, typical black rapper topics. He ain't out of the norm and neither is drake etc.

don't limit ur mind to the mundane marketing side of this phenomenal emcee....
Toy Soldiers - speaking on the ignorance of "gang" rivalry
Mocking bird - talking about his struggle to be a good father
Stan - talking about fans who may take things to far like John Lennon's
Sing for the moment - The responsibility of being a role model celebrity
When I'm Gone - How fame can drag u away from ur family
Mosh - A call for a kind of revolution to make change
Guilty Conscience - Creative collab many in the game just dont do now
Murder She Wrote - storytelling abilities almost none can match today
Till I Collapse - Inspiration to any emcee at his wits end...man...
If I had - This was so witty and well written, all men can relate to
Lose Yourself - One of the most inspirational Hip Hop songs EVER!!!!!!
There's waaaay more of his substance, but for the ignorant comments, these songs destroy 95% of the subject matter or concepts in the entire Rap Game and don't forget "MY FAULT" pure genius story telling.
Not many can reckon...Andre 3000 maybe? Em is the EVERYBODY emcee, not just for whites, blacks, gangstas, emos, thugs, chicks...nah EVERYONE
He at least had something most emcees in the game don't have under their belts. He was a phenomenal battle rapper...NOBODY in the game right now who has gone platinum since him has and record of destroying emcees in battles. Even Jay Z aint got that under his belt. As an emcee Em has accomplished more than ANY other cat in the game, from batteling to contreversy, to magic like "stan" to being top selling rapper of all time, to being himself and not an image born before him.
This is why people like wayne ain't and will never be in his league. U forget how ****ing amazing eminem was at 25 years old. Take everything Em did up to 25 lyrically and everything wayne has done...Em is LIGHT years ahead with the mic...Like seriously dude was a ****ing monster...ya'll must have forgot. Let him do the we made you ****s, but don't ever direguard what he has done in a lifetime of a career that is far beyond the typical black music stereotype crap.
Even biggie didn't HAVE to push weight wit the drugs and all cause he was not starving. He did it to be "cool" and most do in this society. it's sad, but Em even admit never having to do that ******** and stuck true to being the corney skinny white boy gommick. it's who he really is. Not by choice but circumstance.
people dis em's stuff for the mediocre stuff he has dropped but he has waaay more greatness the wackness. Even Jay Z has some super dud **** and plain jane material. Infact when has he really ben that creative concept wise??? He's a great rapper but reasonable doubt is the only time we got magic like "22 2s"

Eminem + College education - Ghetto Upbringing = Asher Roth
Asher ain't got the lyrical prowess as Em, or creativity, but he nice.

He at least had something most emcees in the game don't have under their belts. He was a phenomenal battle rapper...NOBODY in the game right now who has gone platinum since him has and record of destroying emcees in battles. Even Jay Z aint got that under his belt.
Off the top of my head, the only ones worth mentioning are Canibus and Royce. Everyone else has been child's play for him, which is why it's been murder.

Hating this voice Em keeps using. The rest of the album better be done in his normal voice
Crook

Ok, it's a definite improvement over the first 2 singles. Lyrically he's gone back to the SS/MM sporadic, schizo subject material. Flow-wise it's still the same stuff from Encore, which is a hit-and-miss for me. Though a huge plus is his multisyllabic wordplay is in true form here.
You're walkin down a horror corridor
it's almost 4 in the mornin and you're in a
Nightmare, it's horrible
Right there's the coroner
waitin for you to turn the corner
so he can corner ya, you're a goner he's onto ya
out the corner of his cornea he just saw you run
all you want is to rest cuz you can't run anymore you're done
Admittedly, that was an ill verse from Em. Like CS said though, I hope he doesn't keep this voice. But it seems this is what we're stuck with. He's had it for the past 3 years.

Hmmm Ahser Roth sounds nice, has a better flow than he does lyrics and his rhyme skill is average compared to the entire spectrum of emcees that have been around.
Nothing special. But that is just IMHO.

don't limit ur mind to the mundane marketing side of this phenomenal emcee....
Eminem's voice is weird., I don't know what happened. I can't see the whole album being like that, though. His lyrics however, are great.
"I remember the first time I dismembered a family member
December I think it was I was having drinks with my cousin
I wrapped him in Christmas lights pushed him into the stinking tub
Cut him up into pieces and just when I went to drink his blood
I thought I outta drink his bathwater
that outta be fun
that's when my days of serial murder
manslaughter begun
The sight of blood excites me
That might be an artery son
Your bloodcurdling screams
Just dont seem to bother me none
It's 3 Am and here I come
So you should probably run
A secret passageway around here
Man theres got to be one, or no there's probably none
He can scream all that he wants, top of his lungs
It ain't gonna stop me from choppin him up, up"
3 AM is such a weird choice for a single. I can't imagine it will get much radio play. He has to have some heartfelt stuff on the album, like he usually releases as a single. This was definitely chosen to stir some controversy.

I have absolutely no problem with his voice but honestly he will never be as dope as biterphobia. Who ever is as dope as when they were first hungry?
Anyway he still wrecks better than 90% of the game today and ain't talking bout what everyone else is. He never has. I LOVE the song and I wouldn't mind if he uses this voice all the time. It's not that different from TES. The only thing is the accent which I could do without, but I love the entire voice for verse three. At least he ain't slurring too much like he was when he was too much around 50 and them. U can tell he back in his own zone.
