that maybe so, but the majority wouldn't let him leave, the guy has catchy choruses. But at least Dre won't give him anymore beats if this whole beef thing is true. You can't make it to the billboards without a catchy hook and beat. nowadays.:(

I Don't see him being on top much longer...in the immortal words of Ice Cube: "They'll have a new #$%^ next year"

'course the next guy could be just as corny...

It's in my ipod right now. Most of the tracks are old, like stuff from mixtapes the last 3 years. Still good to here
Ante Up is still one of the better hip hop cuts ever. I like my stuff to have either slow beats or high energy beats. But none of that R&B/rap combo stuff.

I dont like 50 cent much, but I am a big fan of G-unit,are you sure that 50 would fall,Eminem doesnt want to rap anymore(expect maybe 2 albums at the most!) and Dre's new album will probably be his last, unlike Young Buck,Loydd Banks, and Tony Yayo!

true, but I gotta put Nas before bis, example from New York State of Mind, this guy can is one of the best storytellers in the rap game

Rappers I monkey flip 'em with the funky rhythm I be kickin
Musician, inflictin composition
of pain I'm like Scarface sniffin cocaine
Holdin a M-16, see with the pen I'm extreme, now
Bulletholes left in my peepholes
I'm suited up in street clothes
Hand me a nine and I'll defeat foes
Y'all know my steelo with or without the airplay
I keep some E&J, sittin bent up in the stairway
Or either on the corner bettin Grants with the celo champs
Laughin at baseheads, tryin to sell some broken amps
G-Packs get off quick, forever n***** talk s***
Remeniscing about the last time the Task Force flipped
N***** be runnin through the block shootin
Time to start the revolution, catch a body head for Houston
Once they caught us off guard, the Mac-10 was in the grass and
I ran like a cheetah with thoughts of an assassin
Pick the Mac up, told brothers, "Back up," the Mac spit
Lead was hittin n***** one ran, I made him backflip
Heard a few chicks scream my arm shook, couldn't look
Gave another squeeze heard it click yo, my s*** is stuck
Try to cock it, it wouldn't shoot now I'm in danger
Finally pulled it back and saw three bullets caught up in the chamber
So now I'm jetting to the building lobby
and it was filled with children probably couldn't see as high as I be
(So whatchu sayin?) It's like the game ain't the same
Got younger n***** pullin the triggers bringing fame to they name
and claim some corners, crews without guns are goners
In broad daylight, stickup kids, they run up on us
Fo'-fives and gauges, Macs in fact
Same n*****'ll catch a back to back, snatchin yo' cracks in black
There was a snitch on the block gettin n***** knocked
So hold your stash until the coke price drop
I know this crackhead, who said she gotta smoke nice rock
And if it's good she'll bring ya customers in measuring pots, but yo
You gotta slide on a vacation
Inside information keeps large n***** erasin and they wives basin
It drops deep as it does in my breath
I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death
Beyond the walls of intelligence, life is defined
I think of crime when I'm in a New York state of mind

Have you ever heard Bis' 2nd diss to him, Rip the Jacker?
IMO, the best diss of all time, no joke....

I had to rock to a beat like this to show you
That I'm iller then the future, the present, and the old you
I told you, wish you could take it all back don't you
Tried to smoke some canibus but canibus smoked you
Calling yourself the greatest is something you don't do
Cause after I humiliate you what will the G.O.A.T. do

There's a rumor going around that I got dropped
200,000 albums sold at 10 dollars a pop
300,000 albums were shipped, you do the math
Thats 3 million in 3 months so kiss my ass
All these magazines tried to steamroll me to death
Guess what, the G.O.A.T. ain't platinum and neither is 'Clef
And I'm still here, inspite of all that **** them *****z said
The skinny kid, the music industry's guinea pig
Tighter then ever, world's chief mic recka
Tougher then reverend run's mutha****in' leatha
I'm hardcore, cum shot right in your wife's face
You soft porn, you held hands on the first date
See when you was making records like I need love
Your homie Cornell was givin' it to you up the butt

You married a **** and had kids with her to cover up your hustle
You and your man Russell made a better couple
Your probably mad as ****, wondering where I got the information from
Your being watched even when you take a dump
Its impossible to front, you can't hide
The chairs at your label got ears and the walls got eyes
Your living one big lie the world just don't know
You take a polygraph test that **** would probably explode

Yo, this be the realest **** I ever wrote
You should change your mutha****in' name from G.O.A.T. to G.L.O.A.T.
The Greatest Liar Of All Time that cannot rhyme
That cannot shine as long as I'm alive
Your prime ended 8 months before '99
And that microphone on your arm will always be mine

I told you to leave it alone, but you was too stubborn
Now your in a world where the hunter becomes the hunted
Your wife is scared cause she don't want to lose a husband
And somebody keeps paging you putting 4321 in
You can't sleep at night thinking about the drama
**** stains all up in your phat farm pijamas
Even f.u.b.u. gear looks hot until it touches you
Probably because your father undoubtedly butt-****ed you
Mama said knock who out? I'll punch that ***** in the mouth
Cause she don't know what she talking about

Even though I'm pissed that Mobb Deep joined G-unit, and Prodigy saying "50 saved me, not Jesus Christ" stuff. Shook Ones Pt.II is still one of the sickest songs ever:

you're minor, we're major
you all up in the game and don't deserve to be a player
don't make me have to call your name out
your crew is featherweight
my gunshots'll make you levitate
I'm only nineteen but my mind is old
and when the things get for real my warm heart turns cold

Damn, I never got to hear that response, JMT. Here's one of my favorite rhymes by Celph Titled:

The Demigodz: Off The Chrome
Celph Titled never freestyles/f*** that
I'd rather put a gun to your back/n**** f*** rap
Crucify you to the wall with a thousand thumb-tacks
You dumb-cats are dumb-wack/here's your f***in' tounge back

I should spray you for looking as gay as you do
You look like a f***in' surfer, n****/ I hate you
I hang-glide into your ride and slice your throat
Wrap your dead body up in a cardigan coat

Shout-out to Magic Most/ I been dope since I first met him
And that was back in 1910
I shine like flashes from Kodak/reflecting off of Kojak's head
I'll leave you wet like Bill Clinton's face

F*** Dan Quail/I go quail huntin'
And shoot you in the skull for frontin'
So go get your orange vest/I'll punch your head off your chest
Molest your Mom/while your off at a gay prom wearing a cumberbund

I'm the thunderous one/Celph Titled/ain't a n**** seein' me, sun
You couldn't kick verses if you played soccer with a Bible
I'm so vital/I'll play your vital organs in church
This is the last time I let'em come off the dome so seach
On the internet and find 800 different records with my name on it
Your a f***** wearin' a bonnet/with a rainbow on it
I'm the don/I'm the king/I'm numero uno
I'll televise your execution on Telemundo

When I first landed the damage was outlandish
anguish, anxiousness, and taking it for granted
but when I first landed I was so relieved I lost my focus
soon exceeded recommended dosages
now I hold the crib? that holds the soul that holds the poet skills
exlcusive it leaves illusions of unfocused flows
I don't suppose you're taking too much time
breaking too much mind trying to unravel the parable?
that dismantled and left the lines in need of some assembly
so I can find the secret key and free all the emcees
this planet spins on a bent axis
all access passes won't help you to grasp the atmos'
I mean, what did you think
my agenda was to freestyle, smile, get paid to smoke weed,
and grab the mic and spoonfeed?
there's more to this than just paying the rent
if you're riding on this song you need to ride it to the end

Yeah, sort of. I mean I really want the album to be good but it seems like A LOT of my fav emcees today/ or of yesterday are really dissapointing me. That's why IMHO 90% or more mainstream is garbage. Then the other 10% are a mix of people who still have talent but aren't as potent as they used to be and the few that still are.

I am hoping for something good, it is promising but I won't get my hopes to high.

Cool, impo he is one the most creative, and lyrically potent emcees I've ever heard. IMHO at least. Not only that the guy writes, scratces and makes his own beats all himself.

Listen to primitive plus firs then beauty and the beat. Two of my all time favorite albums period.

That is true, old-school artist aren't that hungry like before, ex: Wu-tang was amazing back when they started but now they're not that good, I mean I will check out there new albums, but they won't be that good as they first started. There are some artist that can make amazing albums no matter how long they been in the rap game, but some need to know when to quit.

Yeah, but I just think that once they establish an audience by selling 1-5 million copies they just tell themselves. Okay these people are sheep, will buy whatever I put out I just need a beat and a catchy hook then I'm gold.

And people are so dedicated to them as fans that they don't want to admit or see that they suck now. It's the same with Eminem. That guy was one of the most talented mainstream artists, you may not have liked what he had to say but you couldn't deny he had talent. But now he just puts out crap like everyone else.

Some catchy hook to shake your ass to in the club and some beat that hits hard. doesn't even have to be good and your set.

Tonight's the Night! Jay-Z's "I declare War" Concert. Will He Diss 50? Will he Diss the Dips?
Will he Bring Out Nas? Will He bring out The Lox????

“What is Jay-Z going to do tonight?”

The question appears to be the primary query on the minds of Hip-Hop fans as the Def Jam President and his “Carter Administration” will perform at the Continental Airlines Arena tonight (Oct. 27).

Last month, the rapper/mogul told Power 105’s Ed Lover, “I gotta put [my adversaries] in the choke hold, the Boston crab. I gotta smash a couple of people. ... Everybody better make up and be my friend."

Still, the self-proclaimed “god MC” didn’t state whom he intended to annihilate under the show theme, “I Declare War.”

Bun B. appeared on Jay-Z’s “Big Pimpin’” and his own “Get Throwed,” from the Houston veteran’s album Trill. Bun said he’ll be at the venue with the stars, but won’t be fully involved, because of the nature of the show.

“I was planning on rocking with [Jay-Z], but I understand that there may be some circumstances of what he may do on stage. He may not want me to be included in what he’s got going on,” Bun told AllHipHop.com. “He’s about to go to war and I have a pretty good sense of the people he is going to call out. [They] are pretty good friends of mine.”
With a grin, Bun refused to divulge what may occur or who may be targeted at the 105.1 Powerhouse concert, but suggested that the rumors have some basis.

“I ain’t heard nothing,” he said chuckling. “I ain’t heard nothing more than what illseed is saying,” Bun said of AllHipHop.com’s rumor columnist. “That’s where I get all my info.”

Insiders have speculated that Jay-Z will “declare war” on 50 Cent and G-Unit and convene a whole group of artists that support the notion.

Hood hearsay has also suggested that this group will consist of rappers like Nas, Fat Joe, The Lox and others including Sauce Money.

Representatives at Def Jam wouldn’t reveal any information on the matter, however the matter will all unfurl 8 p.m. (est). AllHipHop.com will give continued coverage on the “I Declare War” PowerHouse with Jay-Z and Friends.

allhiphop.com and sohh.com said they gonna have round the clock coverage

I'm a bit confused cause when the hype began for this Jay said it was gonna take place at Contenential Airlines Arena and the concert was gonna be on Pay-Per-View

Now I heard it's gonna be at the new 40/40 Club in Atlantic City

Basically this went from an Arena show with Nas, Jay, Fat Joe going at maybe Game, Dips and G-Unit to Camel Carter roasting some southern rapper at a tiny ass club

I better be wrong cause if not this gonna be the biggest dissapointment since Jay's last 2 albums and his selling numbers of all the acts he signed since being on Def Jam (Rhiana, Terri Maria, Bleek, YG's)

He better not screw up

THE BEEF IS OVER!!!! NAS AND JAY PERFORM ONSTAGE!!!!!!!!

Jay-Z And Nas Officially Dead Beef
By Seandra Sims and Houston Williams
Date: 10/27/2005 11:11 pm

Jay-Z warned everyone that he was "getting the itch" for a good show in New York, and the rapper came out swinging with the first of a pair of concerts to air his grievances with rival rappers.

At what turned out to be more of a peace fest in the end, perhaps the biggest shock of the night at Jay-Z's "I Declare War" Concert in East Rutherford, NJ was when the megastar announced, "It's bigger than 'I declare war'. Let's go, Esco!"
The stunned crowd of thousands at the Continental Airlines Arena screamed in approval as Jay and his former nemesis Nas appeared onstage together, signifying that two of rap's biggest names had finally deaded their beef.

"A lot of nigg*s is makin' money and still *****in' mad at the world!" Nas said. "We savin' the East Coast with ya help."

Nas performed the hook to "Dead Presidents," followed by his own classic, "The World Is Yours." He also rocked his hit songs like "It Ain't Hard to Tell" and "New York State of
Mind."

Jay-Z rejoined Nas onstage and said, "Damn this is some ***** right here!" Nas spun into "They Shootin'" with Jay-Z and Diddy, who also performed "Hate Me Now" with the Queens superstar.

"We all in this ***** together," Jay-Z said. "Y'all witnessed history.everybody in this building is a part of history. All that beef ***** is wack."

The hip-hop icon's concert kicked off with a bang as throngs of eager concertgoers poured into Powerhouse, the annual mega concert by New York's Power 105.1.

At the show's opening, Jay-Z emerged onstage seated in a presidential setting reminiscent of the Oval Office, with a voiceover of Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech blaring in the background.

From the very beginning, the crowd threw their Roc signs in the air while chanting "Hova, Hova!," signaling that the rap megastar has lost none of his shine during his semi-hiatus from the mic.

"I don't think y'all muthaf***as ready tonight!" Jay-Z proclaimed above the screams of the crowd, as two staunch security guards manned the rear of his Oval Office. "'This is my house in this muthaf***a...ya don't understand...I own the Nets!"

During the show's other surprises, Freeway burst from backstage to perform his verse from "What We Do." Looking at Freeway, "Jay-Z said, "We missing some ***** (on this stage) to make this whole thing complete!" A hooded Beanie Sigel came out to perform, throwing up the Roc sign to the crowd's delight. "Roc for life, *****.you already knew!" Beanie said.

The Lox and Jay-Z's old friend Sauce Money came onstage to perform Jay's classic posse cut, "Reservoir Dogs" to everyone's surprise, as Sauce and Jay had previously had a falling out for unknown reasons.

They were followed by a quick impromptu appearance by P Diddy.

"We also got to pay respect to the pioneers of the game, and that's Jam Master Jay and Run DMC," Jay-Z said as he rolled into a set paying homage to JMJ, Big Pun, Big L, Aaliyah, Biggie, Tupac, and even Rosa Parks.

Shortly after, Kanye West emerged from below the stage floor to perform for "President Hova," and was joined by Houston rapper Paul Wall on the track "Drive Slow."

Early in the show, on "Give It to Me," Jay-Z invited Memphis Bleek to the stage in the role of hype man, signifying the two are still close.

When the "god MC" performed "You Don't Know" the audience held on to his every word. Eventually, Jay plucked a young boy out of the crowd. "Don't stage dive. Don't try to upstage me with none of that cute kid stuff...you like summer?" The rapper then spun into "Dear Summer."

Over the course of the night, he brought out special guests Teiarra Mari, Ne-Yo and Peedi Peedi, along with a four-song set by T.I.

T.I. was joined by Young Jeezy, who was a fan favorite with the hook-heavy songs from his debut album Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101. Jay, with a fresh set of clothing, returned on the tail end of Young Jeezy's set to perform "Go Crazy."

At an earlier appearance at Power 105, the Def Jam president revealed that he would address some of whom he called "hard-headed" critics of his "Carter Administration" during the show, but he didn't reveal to whom he would disrespect.

Industry rumors have circulated that Jay-Z was speaking specifically about 50 Cent and his G-Unit entourage, and that he planned to bring along an arsenal of friends to silence the crew's recent attacks.

However, others have speculated that the beef could be with Camron, Fat Joe, and any number of other rappers.

"I gotta put 'em in the choke hold, the Boston crab," the rapper told Ed Lover. "I gotta smash a couple of people. Everybody better make up and be my friend."

A second show, set for October 28, is slated for Philadelphia's Wachovia Center in conjunction with Power 99, another Clear Channel radio station

wow......

Now this is really New York vs. G-unit
Frankly, I'm happy and dissapointed that Nas and Jay-z is no longer beefing. I'm happy cause, they finished there beef, pac and biggie didn't finish theres and look at what happened to them, and there is a big chance that Nas and Jay might make a colloboration song together or maybe an album. I'm dissapointed cause there beef is over, That means Nas and Jay won't make another Ether or Takeover against each other. I always liked debating with my friends about who's the better artist and who won between Jay and Nas, But I guess thats over.

I was expecting some thing big also, like after the concert is over you know blood is gonna spill and s*** later on. But it was more like a concert. An amazing concert for sure, I want to be there to but I can't, and I don't want to see the next show cause the shock value is gone.

But This is telling you that the East-Coast has re-united, and it feels so good:D

It's cool, personally I can respect Nas, Jay, Jada, Sauce Money, Puff and Beans all squashing things. To me we've become wrapped and embroiled in beef that we forget that we can get better records if cats reunite. Personally I think this does more damage to G-Unit than any diss. If President Carter calls for a reunion of East Coast powers and 50's standing out here like an idiot dissing people he's gonna get exposed as a chump.

But **** this dude 50, this is a historic day for Hip Hop, New York especially and I'm happy because Charlie Murphy and Rick James (aka Nas and Hov) have squashed it. It's a celebration *****es, drink up be merry!

Anyway, in a sense Jay is kinda calling out 50 and all the other rappers out there with beefs, since apparently he's against that now. 50 has become the epitome of big-time rap star with all the glory in the world and eventually comes down because of it. Just because Nas and Jay are coo now, doesn't mean their past beef is now invalid. You can still listen to their diss tracks, and listen to the hot ish they spit at each other.

Besides, even before this meet up the beef was already over in my eyes. After Nas was declared the winner by NY, nothing much has happened between the 2. Maybe little jabs and subliminals here and there, but nothing past that. At least this way, there's potential for more hot things coming from both rappers.

Russel Simmons, Damon Dash, Chris Lighty and Sean Carter are smart businessmen in the Hip Hop even Master P in his early days. It's stupid in that instead spreading and thinking of longevity, your milking your cash cow and using disses as the route when you know you can do what Jay-Z and LL did and make creative records in your secure position that furthers your place in the game and thus brings in more bread.

Anyone read Byron Crawford? He's funny as hell.
He always rags on Kanye West, has an article about his gayness about every week.

Read his review of College Dropout:

Kanye West - The College Dropout: Album Review
The College Dropout

Kanye West, The College Dropout (Roc-A-Fella, 2004)
This really is one of the best albums ever. I can still remember the day I got it. Peeling the shrink wrap off of it and putting it on the old stereo for the first time. Listening to the words of one of the top MCs who ever did it, a young man from the not so mean streets of Chicago who had decided that the whole college route wasn't necessarily for him and, being the son of a prominent eduacator, was obviously dealing with a lot of anxiety issues stemming from that decision.

The album I'm referring to, of course, is Resurrection by the late Common Sense. I know I kind of led you on there with this being a review of a Kanye West album and all, but that's just your fault for being so naive. Your first clue should've been when I was talking about peeling the shrink wrap off of it. Hello, people: This is not 1994. And the second clue, provided you've heard it, should've been when I said it was one of the best albums of all time. Because it ain't.

INTRO

Take, for example, this intro. Was it necessary? No. Is it at least funny? No. At least it's short.

WE DON'T CARE

Is this actually the perfect song for kids to sing? No, that would be "Must Be the Money" by Deion Sanders. What's wrong with this song? Lots of things. In general I could do without all of the wailing gospel singers and squealing saxophones in the background. And don't even get me started about the kids singing on the chorus.

GRADUATION DAY

This one is funnier than the first one because it's got more cursing in it, but what's with that weird faux Roger Troutman talkbox thing at the end? You see what I'm saying, people?

ALL FALLS DOWN (FEAT. SYLEENA JOHNSON)

This one is cool. It would've been better w/ that psycho hose beast Lauryn Hill on it, but I'm willing to let that slide. After all, she is crazy. At least he didn't bring in any random ass people to play violin on this or have any kind of long ass extended spoken-word passages or anything.

I'LL FLY AWAY

Again w/ the dumbass skits. Also, I don't like gospel music either. It reminds me of Christians.

SPACESHIP (FEAT. GLC & CONSEQUENCE)

Oh goody, a space age slavery hymn. People who drop out of college should be glad to have jobs at the GAP. Does Kanye West not have a TV? As protest singer Ainsley McTree would say, "Take a look around, people. It's not pretty." Otherwise this song is alright, but I really could've done w/o those other two *****s rapping on it. He could've just ended it after the first 1:30 and pretended it was another skit.

JESUS WALKS

Oh goody, a rap version of that ridiculous Christian poem "Footprints." You know, the one where the guy is walking down the beach and Jesus was walking w/ him b/c there were two sets of footprints and then when the guy actually needed him, all of a sudden there was only one set b/c Jesus was off having a meeting w/ Mel Gibson or some ****.

NEVER LET ME DOWN (FEAT. JAY-Z & J. IVY)

The beat to this one doesn't sound that different from "Two Words." It was cool for a minute while Jay was rhyming, but the rest I could've done without. I don't like how the chorus to every song on here is a bunch of singing women and children multi-tracked a thousand times over. Does this guy think he's Tom Scholz from Boston? Maybe he'll just go away for a while like Tom Scholz from Boston.

GET EM HIGH (FEAT. TALIB KWELI & COMMON)

In the video for this, Common just kinda stands there and raps and fondles an apple and then he somehow manages to take a bite out of the apple while continuing to rhyme simultaneously. Meanwhile, Talib Kweli (who's apparently having roid rage issues) just kinda goes around and beats the **** of people and then eats a sandwich. Common over Kanye West beats is not as special as people are making it out to be (have these people never heard One Day It'll All Make Sense?), but at least it sounds like he's trying.

WORKOUT PLAN

This and the next track just plain shouldn't have been on here.

THE NEW WORKOUT PLAN

This is the worst **** I've ever heard before in my life.

SLOW JAMZ (FEAT. TWISTA & JAMIE FOXX)

I don't wanna sound like I'm just a huge ****ing hater or anything, but this was much better in the single version--more Twista, less people singing about Smokey Robinson and "Ashes and Simpson."

BREATHE IN BREATHE OUT (FEAT. LUDACRIS)

Can anybody explain to me what was the point of having Ludacris on this if he wasn't going to spit a verse? I guess at least it beats his usual choirs of singing school children. This is another one of the better songs on the album.

SCHOOL SPIRIT SKIT 1

Here's the beginning of another whole sequence of bull**** that should've never been on here.

SCHOOL SPIRIT

For somebody who has such an adverse attitude toward school, he sure does spend a whole lot of time rapping about it. He's like one of those closet cases who always goes around talking about how much he can't stand ******s.

SCHOOL SPIRIT SKIT 2

Yay, more of this ignorant bull****!

LIL JIMMY SKIT

****, there's even more of it!

TWO WORDS (FEAT. MOS DEF, FREEWAY & THE BILL O'REILLY BOYS CHOIR)

The b-side to the "Through the Wire" 12-inch from about 10 years ago. It could've used more Mos Def and less of everything else, but it's still cool.

THROUGH THE WIRE

I don't know what happened on this album, but on his next album, he needs to focus on making more songs like this--more wanton sampling, less squealing violins and schoolchildren. Dame can pay for the rights to sample that Jeffrey Osborne "Woo Woo Woo" song and they can get Ol' Dirty and Bobby Brown to sing on it. Also, if he comes out on his next album still talking about that dumbass car accident and his broken jaw, I'm gonna break that ****er again.

FAMILY BUSINESS

Alright, the 2004, low expectations "They Reminisce Over You." Byron's getting all choked up.

LAST CALL

It was cool for the first 90 seconds or so, but then I just got tired of hearing his dumb ass so I turned it off.

It's weird, I really did go into this album expecting to like it even though I don't like rap music that sounds like R&B and rappers who can't actually rap, but this ****, even accounting for low expectations, is just not that good. Basically, there's like a core of 5 or 6 good songs surrounded by so much bull**** like all of the dumb ass skits and jokey songs like the "New Workout Plan" and weird production flourishes and **** and then there's just the whole vibe of it with him being all bitter about having a ****ed up looking face and being too dumb to graduate college that I'm just not feeling. I don't know about that face, but can't somebody just get him a degree from Ranken or somewhere so he can shut the **** up about school already?

I'm glad that Nas and Jay-z are dropping are dropping the beef angle to make their money. They had flyers and stuff for Nas' concert on the otherside of the city the same night, so everyone thought that he wouldn't/couldn't appear. Glad to see that he did because rumours were starting saying how new beef would start.

If only 50 and Ja Rule would do the same, but I doubt it because both of them seem to stubborn. First Ja Rule is attacking people just for being friends with 50 and now 50 is making enemies that used to be his friends. I read that 50 sent out a warning to Dr. Dre. Is he out of his mind?

Oh well I was very happy to see this:

Nas & Jay-Z (especially) are just very knowledgable about the industry, and have always been more talented than most of these knuckleheads. Jay-Z said it best, "I'm not a businessman, I'm a business, man!". For god's sake the man is president of Def Jam!! When you're in that position of power, what'chu gotta beef wit anyone for?!? Just embarass them like he did Prodigy from Mobb Deep!

As for 50 Cent, I never understood the appeal. I've heard some of his old stuff, and it's decent, but I was completely underwhelmed by Get Rich or Die Tryin'. The lyrics are garbage for the most part, and all that really stands out are the beats. The Massacre's even worse. And he's doing the same crap he tried to clown Ja Rule for doing, with the whole sing-rappin' thing. I saw the video for "Window Shopper" from his movie's soundtrack, and not only is the video glossy superficial opulence, the song is pure ass cheddar! 50's voice is annoying enough without doin' that sing-rappin'! Guess it's not as bad as Snoop Dogg trying wholeheartedly to sing! Shoot, someone's gotta make Pharell sound better by comparison!

This is why 50 is a dumb***.

Why be a slave?" — Styles P.

You're probably going to see a bunch of fans picking the mothballs off their "Let the LOX go!" T-shirts and pulling them out of the closet. The Yonkers, New York, rappers are so fed up with record-label politics that we may never hear an official group album from them again.

To make matters worse, the group's Styles P. and Jadakiss say that they will no longer put out solo LPs.

"We've been on a promo tour for Sheek Louch's album, and on the bus we just been talking about this sh--," Styles said. "They doing so much bullsh-- to us, and it's like you can't do nothing. It's like you work at a real job like at Key Food and you notice the conditions ain't suitable for you and you ain't really getting nowhere."

So what exactly does this all mean? It means that you'll still hear the LOX on the mixtape circuit, but both Kiss and Styles refuse to record any more solo albums for Interscope Records; and Kiss, Styles and Sheek Louch won't be doing another LOX group album for Interscope either. While they're still down to do guest appearances with other artists, they doubt that their label will clear the cameos. All three LOX members will be focusing more on their D-Block label and grooming new talent, like J-Hood.

"I don't see it as quitting, 'cause we're not quitters," clarified Sheek, whose second solo LP, After Taxes, is due on Tuesday "But we keep going back and forth and it's not getting nobody nowhere. We basically saying, 'Holla at us when you get it right.' It's ridiculous. Now Jada and Styles are going to switch to CEO mode."

One of the main catalysts for their indefinite hiatus, of course, is the LOX's feud with 50 Cent, who is also on Interscope. The group is upset that Ruff Ryders Records CEOs Dee and Waah Dean — whom they've known since their childhood — have been meeting and negotiating on their behalf with 50 without their knowledge and without being asked to do so. The LOX are also frustrated that they have not been able to have a sit-down with the head of Interscope, Jimmy Iovine. They say they've been trying to arrange a meeting for the past five months.

During that time, Jadakiss has been working on an LP he says would be titled Kiss My Ass. Interscope released a Styles single featuring Akon called "Can You Believe It," which is actually one of the hottest records in New York right now. However, Styles' LP Time Is Money still has no release date. The album has been finished for two years and has been pushed back incessantly. Styles said that Interscope recently told him it wanted to finally put the album out this month, but a number of factors caused him to dissuade the company to do so. He explains that the record would have come out without the proper setup, and would have hit shelves around the same time as Sheek's After Taxes, which has been long advertised as dropping November 8.

"They put our backs against the walls," Jada vented on Monday (November 7). "Sh-- ain't right. It ain't panning out."

Styles put part of the blame for his record's delay on 50 Cent's influence at Interscope. 50 has nicknamed himself "Curtis 'Interscope' Jackson" and on records he's warned Jadakiss that he would indeed push Styles' album back. Recently on New York radio, 50 initially denied having anything to do with Styles' LP delay, then hinted that he may indeed have had a hand in its scheduling.

"On the radio he said the building leans when he leans," Styles detailed. "What is that telling me? I don't wanna go to jail. And I don't wanna step on none of these rich people's toes. I don't wanna argue with none of these people and I don't wanna continue to frustrate myself wondering when my album is gonna come out. I'm at a point in my life when I can't be waiting two years for them to drop my album. Why be a slave?"

In the past couple of weeks, 50 has divulged a plan to put aside his feud with the LOX and help Jada make his next album (see "50 Cent Open To Doing Business With Jadakiss, Urges Calm Over 'Murda' Mase"). Needless to say, Kiss said he would never work with 50 Cent.

"It'll be over for hip-hop," Styles said of what would happen if Jada worked with G-Unit. Styles also elaborated that he heard the Ruff Ryders were trying to iron out a deal to put the next Kiss album out with G-Unit, much like how G-Unit and Aftermath released the Game's The Documentary earlier this year.

"The sh--'s crazy. It makes you go, 'This sh-- is crazy,' " Styles said about learning of Dee and Waah's talks with 50. "I don't understand what the f--- is going on. We keep speaking and speaking [to Ruff Ryders] and it seems like nothing is getting nowhere. The sh-- is worse now. They trying to get Jada on G-Unit."

The final factor that is causing Styles and Kiss to step away from the mic is the fact that Diddy still owns a significant amount of their music publishing — the LOX used to be signed to Bad Boy — and they've been unable to sit down and renegotiate with him.

"I don't have no beef with him, but I'm not feeling him," Styles said of Diddy. "He don't want to come off none of that publishing. That's securing your future. That's what's gonna come in later down the line. The direction things are going now, it's going downhill. It's like we almost blackballed and we been fighting through the blackball. He has all this money, he has Justin's [restaurant], Sean John, he throws million-dollar parties but we can't get a piece of our publishing back?"

For LOX fans, there are a couple of bright spots in this whole mess. For one, no rapper retires forever — we've seen that time and time again. And the LOX could always end up at another label home. They've all confirmed that Jay-Z was interested in bringing them to Def Jam, but Styles says Interscope hasn't really entertained the offer as of yet.

Last week, Ruff Ryders refused to comment on its dealings with Jadakiss and Interscope. On Monday, a rep for Interscope had no comment at press time.

For Jadakiss' take on 50 Cent, check out the feature "Jadakiss & Fat Joe Sound Off" .

— Shaheem Reid

All this because Jada did a song with 50's enemy? What kind of crap is that? He's becoming another Tupac. Making all of these enemies. Except that Tupac was a much better rapper.

Dre's a pussy....

Producer Dr. Dre will not be collaborating with The Game on The Doctor’s Advocate, the Compton neophyte’s second album.

In an interview with Miss Jones and the Hot 97 morning show, 50 Cent drastically countered claims by The Game, who has already started on his sophomore effort.

“He [Dr. Dre] knows what the kid [The Game] just did and that’s it. I’m not working on [The Game’s new album] and he’s not working on it,” said 50 Cent. “He’s just got to go in and make good records. Of course, he’ll probably name [his album The Doctor’s Advocate] to make people think [Dre] is involved.”

The Game has already contradicted 50’s claims when discussing The Doctor’s Advocate.

"It's the same format at The Documentary. If it aint broke don't fix it," Game told AllHipHop.com. "I am still with Dre and I'm working with some of the best producers.”

Despite his rival’s contention, 50 Cent said that his personal conversations Dr. Dre, his history with The Game and his contributions to The Documentary project were reason enough not to work with the Compton rapper.

“I’ve had communications with Dre since [he appeared on the BBC radio]. My reason for saying it is…nobody can take anything away from Dre. We don’t have any issues,” 50 said. “See, Dre knows exactly how much I did for Game’s project. I wrote six songs on his album. Three of them are his first three singles and I was on the records to make people listen to them.”

Game vehemently denied that 50 Cent wrote six songs, but maintained that they did collaborate creatively.

“We got an understanding. Everything is good,” 50 said.

In related news, Paramount has removed posters advertising 50 Cent’s new movie “Get Rich or Die Tryin’,” that featured the rapper brandishing two handguns.

The posters drew the wrath of various community groups in Los Angeles, California, who said the posters were insensitive due to the rise in gun violence in urban communities.
