I was going through my old wizard magazines and I just dug up an old interview with Todd McFarlane and Gene Simmons(of KISS) from 1998

here is an Batman related exerpt.

Wizard: Anything other comics you enjoy?

Gene: There are very few books that really hold my attention. I was curious enough to pick up the Rob Liefeld-Jim Lee “Heroes Reborn” stuff from Marvel. I feel I’m missing the sense of wonder you have as a kid. I wanted to be these superheroes as a kid. But now, I’ve surpassed those guys. I am on stage. I do fly through the air and all that. But I haven’t died and come back to wreck havoc in this world like Spawn has. Every so often, Witchblade and The Darkness are interesting, but I won’t pick up every one. I’ll go and scan. I’ve picked up a few issues. The Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale Batman “Halloween” books are always good stuff.

It's interesting to know that Gene has read TLH.

I remeber hearing that back when Gene was a school teacher before KISS, one of the reasons he got fired was doing a class lesson on an issue of Spider-Man
